A website is asking me for a valid SSL certificate ??

A website keeps asking me a valid SSL certificate, even when I choose the valid one from the drop-down, the website still won't respond correctly and comes up with an error message...... HELP

I get there OK once. Next time I got this:

Website not asking permission for using location services in Safari iOS 6

Website is not asking permission for using location services when using Safari mobile on iOS 6.0 (iPhone 4s)
Steps to replicate:
1. Go to http://maps.google.com using Safari
2. Choose "allow" to use location services
3. Close Safari and wait 1-2 minutes such that the arrow sign (in the top right) disappears
4. Go to http://www.nature.com/news/economics-and-genetics-meet-in-uneasy-union-1.11565 using Safari
5. The arrow sign (in the top right) appears showing that the location services are used when viewing http://www.nature.com/news/economics-and-genetics-meet-in-uneasy-union-1.11565 (even few hours later)
Why the site http://www.nature.com/news/economics-and-genetics-meet-in-uneasy-union-1.11565 is not asking permission to use location services?
The Nature journal (site: ww.nature.com) is not affiliated with Google in any way as far as I know!

I figured out how to stop this from happening. I did 3 things, and I'm not exactly sure which one of them did it because I did them all at the same time.
1. Turned on Private Browsing
2. Cleared Cookies and Data
3. Turned off JavaScript
This stopped time.com from using my location without permission.
I then turned off Private Browsing and went back to the same page, and it continued to NOT use my location.
I'm thinking JavaScript being turned off might be the solution. However, there is a bug that causes JavaScript to turn on again without permission at times:

So just be aware of that. But hopefully doing the above works for you!

I think this is what you need to do
1. go to the page from where you have to install certificate
2.You will see lock symbol at the right hand side of the page, click on it and save it on your desktop PC by going to details page
3. Open Nokia PC Suite --> FileManager and trasnfer the certificate from your PC to FileManager
4. Click on the certificate inside FileManager and install it, while installing allow it to choose its place automatically
Then try synchronising your mail, you ill receive it for the first time when you connect then it wont ask you for that again till you connect next time.

Here's how I got my Nokia to accept the certificate as trusted. It may not work for everybody but it worked for me and after the past week of messing about I am truly grateful for that...
Basically, I uninstalled then reinstalled Certificate Services through add/remove programs. I then followed the advice on this site (below), but only as far as requesting a cert through IIS Manager.

I followed the advice until this section (mainly because it wouldn't allow me to request a cert through IE on the server...)..
"Getting the Pending Request accepted by our Certificate Authority"
I then opened "certification authority" on the server (through administrative tools) and right clicked the cert authority which will have the same name as the cert you had just requested and selected properties. In my case, something like mail.mydomain.co.uk...
Under the General Tab I highlighted "certificate#0" in the CA Certificates box and clicked "view certificates".
This opens the cert and I then clicked the "details" tab and saved the cert to a location using the "copy to file" button.
Using the wizard I selected the first option "DER encoded binary x509(.cer) gave it a friendly name, saved it somewhere handy and closed the wizard.
I then copied the file onto a pc with the Nokia PC Suite installed and copied it to the documents folder (although any one will do). I guess you could bluetooth or email the cert as well..
I then browsed to it on the phone, clicked on it and it let me save it automatically into the certs folder. I restarted the phone, checked SSL was on and bingo the certificate was trusted and remains working today... You might have to delete an existing cert if you already have one installed as it won't let you overwrite it..
As I say, I can't say this will work for anybody else as I have probably fiddled around with the server so much it has gone west in some respects, but it works for me and that'll do for now...

Mail for Exchange and SSL certificate

I have a little problem with Mail For Exchange and my Nokia N80. I have self-signed certificate for Exchange mailserver and when I am synchronizing e-mails I got always message: "The site has sent an untrusted certificate. Continue anyway ?". I underestand that my certificate isn't verified by any root authority, but if I have synchronization schedule set at 15 minutes it means I have to confirm this message four times when I am not with my mobile one hour. So question is:
Is possible to import self-signed SSL certificate into Nokia N80 and set it as trusted ? If yes, please describe me how, because I have tried import the certificate as CER (it was opened just as NOTE on Nokia), I tried to convert it via openssl to PEM (the file was not recognized) etc... Thanks for any help in advance.

Go to your outlook web access website and click on the lock and then view certificate. The details and then you can save it in DER format to your desktop.
Then go to this site:
http://www.redelijkheid.com/symcaimport/ and insert through the browse button and then copy the link to your phone.
Then you should be able to download it
You can also go to your IIS default site on the exchange server and directory security and export your certificate under edit certificate.
I have tried everything now. I can download my certificate and the valicert from GoDaddy, but the Nokia phone is still saying "do you trust this certificate" every time the phone syncs.
Our firm have taken the E-phones away now and went over to windows mobile and all of them worked within 10 minutes without any errors.
The funny thing is that when you try to call nokia, they wont help you with Mail for Exchange, and it is there program
I know my GoDaddy certificate works on windows mobile phones, so It must be something with Mail for Exchange.
Every guy I talked to about symbian phones have told me they always gives problems with SSL. I am a bit **bleep**, but can conclude that Nokia is for the private consumer.

Very strange behaviour of checking valid SSL certificates

While sniffing our network to solve a problem of using the Exchange Account on Iphone OS 3.1 I saw something strange:
To use the Exchange Account on the Iphone, you first have to type your E-mail address, then optional domain, then the username/password.
When you are finished the Iphone starts to check the validity of the SSL-Certificate in the following way:
It takes the Domain from the right side of the "@"-sign and does something like "dig @domain.tld" and checks there if an valid certificate can be found. In my opinion this does not make sense, because Iphone does not check the certificate of the Exchange/Reverse Proxy. It checks whereever the dig leads it.
I tried this with 4 different domains.
Did anybody have the same problem?

Cliff, Hi. I'm curious because this can't work. I have no problem synching with the exchange - as long as i accept the message that the certificate of the exchange (which is not the certificate of the exchange but the certificate of dig @reighthandsideofmailadress) is not valid (expired, wrong common name etc).

Installing Valid SSL Certificate for Agent Reskilling Tool

Has anyone done this? I'm looking for documentation and can't find anything. There's documentation for UCM/CUIC, but nothing for agent reskilling. The Cisco Security Best Practices seems to just gloss over this subject and not really provide any good data.

Hi David, I recently tried to do this and I think I figured out a solution. This is on ICM 8.5(4). Let me know if this works for you.
Open SSL Encryption Utility. Select All Instances. Click Certificate Administration tab. Click Uninstall. Close SSL Encryption Utility.
Create Certificate request in IIS Manager.
Complete Certificate request in IIS Manager.
Export Certificate in IIS to c:\icm\ssl\[yourfile.pfx]. Remember password you use.
Open command prompt
Cd c:\icm\ssl\bin
Openssl.exe
pkcs12 -in c:\icm\ssl\[yourfile.pfx] -nocerts -out keyfile-encrypted.key
pkcs12 -in c:\icm\ssl\[yourfile.pfx] -clcerts -nokeys -out [host.crt]
Exit
Copy c:\icm\ssl\bin\host.crt to c:\icm\ssl (overwrite if necessary)
Copy c:\icm\ssl\bin\keyfile-encrypted.key to c:\icm\ssl (overwrite if necessary)
Open SSL Encryption Utility. Select All Instances. Click Certificate Administration tab. Click Install. Click no when it asks to create a new certificate. Close SSL Encryption Utility. I got one error but certificate imported successfully.
Verify by going to https:///reskill

Dreaded "must be configured to use a valid SSL cert" - 2008 R2

Hello everybody,
I've been browsing through hundreds of topics on the dreaded "The RD Gateway server must be configured to use
a valid SSL certificate" error using BPA (Windows Server 2008 R2 Std), but still haven't found a proper solution.
Here's the issue: RDGW not operating properly and sometime accepting connections, sometimes not.
I have an external domain example.com and internally, the domain is example.local. I have one server serving Exchange and RD, this is the server responding to mail.example.com and I have an StartSSL issued cert for mail.example.com, which is properly configured
on the server (OWA is working properly with autodiscover etc.). SSL bindings seem alright, default site is using the mail.example.com SSL cert.
If I open the RDGW Manager and go to the SSL Certificate tab, the system looks happy by having the cert installed, everything looks fine. Sometimes I even manage to connect - connection is successful, I can normally connect to any of the servers or computers.
On a second attempt, I just get the message, that the logon attempt had failed. If I run BPA on the server, I get the error of not having a proper SSL cert. If I select a self-signed cert, then also the BPA goes through, but then I have problems with connections
since everybody would need this cert to have installed.
From what I read, my problems are related to the issue that the FQDN of my server is servername.example.local and the cert is issued to mail.example.com. How can I make the thing only to talk via the mail.example.com cert? I don't think I can get a cert
that'd also contain a SAN of servername.example.local from the CA.
What can I do?

Thanks for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Here providing you the article for BPA’s configuration logs, where you can check. It also states that certificate are main problem related to this error. Please check certificate which you have bound have FQDN name of gateway server, the certificate is SSL
certificate and it’s a trusted certificate. Also check that certificate which you have importing to RD gateway must be in local computer/personal store. For more information refer below article.

In addition, you need to specify the FQDN name of RD gateway under
DefaultTSgateway in IIS setting. Please go through below article for details.

Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.

Check with the school to make sure the licensing should still be valid. Some school make arrangements only for temporary licensing.
