A weird sound happens when I sign on to Facebook

I have a 2009 Macbook Pro and am using FF 3.6.13.
Everytime I sign on/off to Facebook or Google a weird lazer-gun sound happens.
This doesn't happen with any of the other major browsers I have.
It only happens with Facebook and any Google account.
With Google as I sign off the username/password fields automatically fill with "MyUsername" and the dots (who knows what password is being entered!).
I've tried deleting all cookies and restarting FF and it still does this.

To clarify, when I hear the lazer-gun sound it automatically fills in the user/pass fields on sign off with the image I uploaded. On sign on it just makes the sound but signs me on to my account as normal.
With Facebook it just makes the lazer-gun sound but does not do what the Google example I uploaded shows.
The lazer-gun sound is like a lazer-tag gun sound.
I suspect there is some bug in my browswer, but it only affects Facebook and any Google account that I have in the manner I describe.
How would I get rid of these?

Go to Settings-Sounds-Text Tone and change to None. You're referring to the sound when posting a message to someone else, correct? The only issue is if you set to none, you will not hear the incoming either.

How can you get custom sounds for when you sign into iChat?

When you sign into my friend's iChat account on her computer, a computer voice says "Sarah is awesome!", and she obviously custom made that, and I was wondering how you can make custom sounds like that when you sign in.

It can be done two ways.
1) as the other poster describes in making an Alert Sound and placing it in Users/(your account)/Library/Sounds and then selecting it in iChat > Preferences > Alerts fro the action you want.
2) In Tiger/iChat 3 only
Go to the iChat Alert Preferences details above and there is an option to have iChat Speak a text phrase which you can type in the Phrase. (this is not there in iChat 4)

What exactly happens when i sign out?

do everything i have checked on icloud, when i create new vcard, note, cal-date, do those new creations get deleted if i sign out of icloud? what if there's a icloud crash, are all those new files lost?
or will time machine back ALL files up?

When you sign out, you disconnect your Mac from your iCloud data. You will be given an option to keep some data locally on your Mac (like contacts and calendars), but not all. The data remains in iCloud and will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in. Whether or not you can restore all your data from Time Machine is not clear; and doing so is difficult. The best thing to do is to create local backups of your data from time to time, which are then backed up by Time Machine.
You can back up your calendar(s) by selecting them and going to File>Export>Export. You can back up your contacts by going to Fine>Export>Export vCard (or Contacts Archive if you have lots of groups).
To create local copies of your notes, you have to sign out of your iCloud account in System Preferences, choosing Delete at all of the prompts (your data will still be in iCloud), then in Notes go to File>New Folder (name it something like "Notes Backup"). This will create the folder under On My Mac. Then sign back into your account in System Preferences to sync back all your iCloud data (after a brief delay as it downloads). You can then option-drag and drop your iCloud notes to your On My Mac backup folder. These notes in the On My Mac folder will be stored on your Mac (not in iCloud) and will be backed up by Time Machine.

HELP! Weird Error Message when I sign into Mail!

Why do I keep getting the message "this mac cannot connect to icloud because of a problem with ...(my icloud address). Open icloud preferences to fix problem". When I do go to the icloud preferences, I can't access anything, even though I sign in with the correct password. I am still getting mail though. By the way, this started happening after I updated to Yosemite. I have a Macbook Air purchased end of August 2013. Any help would be greatly appreciated!.

I want to upgrade to 4.2 on my 3G and cannot because I don't have itunes 10, and i'm only running 10.4.11, so Itunes 10 won't run on my pc, I'm not ready to upgrade yet to a new computer yet. Weird things happen when i resize.

when i use the marquee tool and i select a box portion of something. then i got to transform selection and i set the dimensions to, lets say, 100px by 100px.
then i copy and paste into a new document sometimes it decides to make the new document 1 or 2 pixels wider which is weird and annoying cause then i have this white line going down the side after pasting.
and then using that image as a background pattern looks weird because i need to resize the canvas and get rid of that empty line. why does this happen its getting annoying.
and feathering is set to 0

If I understand correctly Selection > Transform Selection is basically the same as editing a Mask in that Interpolation has to be employed.
If you are sure you want a rectangular Selection of certain pixel-dimensions you should probably set Style in the Options Bar to Fixed Size before making it.

Weird things happen when apply dissolve

When i apply a dissolve to black (fade to black) the image in the canvas shifts to the left. Almost like when film is mis aligned in the gate. But when i render it goes back to normal. Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers

Well, I used to see this problem way back in the v7 days of the purple app. It's not an FCP exclusive problem, though I have seen it happen one time with Final Cut.

Weird things happening when adding files to library

OK so I just update to the newest itunes, so I am all up to date. My problem is that when I go to add files to the library from a folder on the harddrive, nothing happens. I hold down the shift key and select the songs in the folder I want to add, but it will not add them unless you manualy add EACH FILE one by one!
So I tried to just add the whole folder, but when I do that, it adds each song twice for some reason, so then I have to go through and manualy delete all the duplicates.
This has NEVER been a problem until tonight, if someone has a tip please tell me! I am also getting annoyed with the whole determing gapless playback thing, if someone has a tip to get rid of that, that would also be great. Thanks!

Weird thing happened when debuging a web application under MyEclipse 5.5

Hello:
I am using MyEclipse 5.5 and weblogic 8.1 to work on a complex web application. I generated the ear file using ANT script and deployed it through weblogic console, the weblogic server is started from within MyEclipse.
I can debug this application inside MyEclipse, step by step. And this happened:

           Invoice inv = (Invoice)iter.next();

                creditList.add(inv);
      }When I step through the above code, even though count is 1 (or 2,3), the "if" block is still entered, and the line: "creditList.add(inv); " is still executed. Why is that? Am I crazy or is the IDE?

sounds like your code in eclipse and the code which is being executed is out of sync. rebuild, and see if you still have a problem

Weird thing happens when capturing from tape...

So I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and I'm capturing from tapes. I either set in and out points or capture the whole tape when I do this. When I start capturing, what would sometimes happen is Premiere would stop capturing the footage in the middle, but there's no kind of error at all. What it seems to me is that Premiere would think that my out point is earlier than what I said it was so it would capture only part of the footage I wanted into my bins, but then I can just move the in point to where it left off and it would capture the rest of it (though it may stop several times). The captured files don't seem to be corrupt either. Does this make sense to anyone? I'm just wondering if it's the program itself, the tapes, or something else?

please guys can you guys just try it out for me and tell me if it happens to you too. i've already heard from an x200 user that this happens to him as well. it would be better to hear from more of you guys.

Weird sound glitch when copying timelines

I am editing a project in 16:9 PAL and my original timeline forces me to render before viewing my footage. New timelines let me see the footage without rendering BUT when I copy my old timeline into ANY new timeline, I get repeated audio sequences. Really weird. Any advice?

Can you check what's going on on the Oracle - am guessing
it's Oracle from
the "CONNECT BY PRIOR" - box @ the time? I presume you can
set it to log
all SQL or JDBC activity?
Are you certain (absolutely ~) that arguments.jpRunNum
contains 32144809,
for the purposes of the test that's failing?
What if you factor the query out into a CF template and run
these tests:
1) as is in your example
2) change 32144809 to use a <cfqueryparam>, but still
hard code the value
to 32144809.
3) set a variable to 32144809, and use the variable as the
value of the
parameter.
From what you're describing, it seems like your query is
getting in a loop,
which with this sort of thing can be down to giving the
CONNECT BY PRIOR a
bung value.

You should always pay attention when installing software because often, a software installer includes optional installs, such as this adware. Be very careful what you agree to install. 
Adware gets on your computer after you have installed a freeware software (video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators) that had bundled into their installation this browser hijacker.
You can use the below steps to revert back to adware-less Firefox.
1) Reset Prefs
*Navigate to '''about:config''' in your Address Bar
*Press the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button to proceed
*Search for trovi and reset all prefs that pull up by right clicking > Reset
2) Remove any programs that you don't recognize or remember installing from your Control Panel (Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program)
3) Remove any extensions that you don't recognize or remember installing from Firefox.
*Firefox 29 and above:(Press the menu button ([[Image:new fx menu]] > Add-ons > Extensions)
*Firefox 28 and below:[[Image:Firefox Button]]> Add-ons > Extensions)
4) Download ADW Cleaner to wipe out any remnants of the adware.
