A whole lot of crashing - theory..

Mainstage (2.2.2 and 2.2.1) had a lot of sudden shut downs lately.. and I`ve been very frustrated about this...
Today it crashed 3 times within ten minutes...at home when programming a new live show
But the strange thing was this weekend playing live, it acutally worked perfect, no issues at all...
The only difference between my live rig and what I use programming at home is a Benq 21" screen plugged via the thunderbolt port.
So I removed it..... and been working it hard for 4 hours now.. no problem..
Could it be a Thunderbolt issue? .. anyone else who could test this theory?
I`m using a 13" MacBookPro (Norwegian info below) ,shipped with Lion , but I`m running Snow Leopard ..(could be an issue here I realize)

I will post a crash log tomorrw! Going to bed now:)... I`m pretty shure I can recreate the crash by viewing mainstage on the external screen
But I really dont think I`m doing to much... (except if you mean to much is having a secondary screen)
When I`m programming patches (sets) for songs, I always do one song at a time (on concert for each) .. and theres is really not much in the one I loaded (and crashed) today three times, before I unplugged my external display. Then all is good.
Same thing when I was rehearsing at home friday evening before the show saturday, Mainstage shut down so often I just gave up and hoped for the best at the show.
Everything worked as it should live.... the same concert file.

Actually, you can email up to 5 at a time from the Photos app. Select any more and the email share option will not appear.
If you explain why you need to email large numbers of photos, we might be able to offer an alternative.

Restored a whole lot of deleted pictures i deleted accidently.

Restored a whole lot of deleted pictures i deleted accidently, now the files are corrupt, but i can see them, "blurry" in the camera roll. Anyone with any clues on how to fix this?
I put the pictures i deleted over to a new album, which was 4 days of fun, and after i transferred them over, i chose to delete the pictures in the camera roll, which was not good. The Iphone deleted both the ones in the camera roll, and the other album. When i figured the other photos were gone too, i tried to react quickly and do a "hard" reboot on my iphone, so that my phone wouldnt "register" the delete..
The thing is that this is quite complicated, and i think i messed up real hard. Right after the reboot the pictures were there, almost, they were just files. It was 150 pictures with just the "jpeg-file" name on them..My vids shows me a message that sais something about missing URL?
And ofcourse i have done a restore in Itunes. The restore was on the other hand from the files that was allready corrupted.
Its complicated, i know...Allthough, if anyone can give me a hand here, its greatly appreciated!

Well, after reading through your post a couple of times because I wasn't quite sure what you did, I feel I might understand right now.
You had a number of pictures in the camera roll and you moved them to a new album. You then deleted photos from the Camera roll and now you want to try and recover them? Is that what you are asking?
If so, there isn't anything you can do. Adding pictures from the Camera roll to an album does not actually MOVE the pictures, it just allows you to cataloge them. If you add pictures to a new album you create on the iPhone and then try to delete them from the iPhone, you get a warning that the pictures are in another album and deleting them from camera roll will cause them to be deleted everywhere. I just tried this to make sure. Actually, the warning box doesn't just say delete, it says delete everywhere. Deleting pictures from the camera roll before importing them to the computer will result in the photos being lost. Your attempt to reboot the phone is what corrupted the files. Unless you did a backup of the phone with the camera roll intact and have not backed it up since then, you would be able to restore to that backup. Problem is, it reads as if you have already done a backup/sync, which would result in the last backup being overwritten by the latest one. In my opinion, unless something I wrote earlier has happened, then you have lost the photos.

Why has my iCal got a whole lot of religious festivals in it - and all of them in German?

I want to use iCal as my diary, on iCloud. That seems to work. But today I found that I had a whole lot of religious festivals marked in it (and at least duplicated), all in German. I want to go back to Firefox 3.6. It did everything I wanted a browser to do and I didn't have to learn a whole lot of new stuff. Firefox 4 looks alien and hostile to me.

I am not computer literate and do not want to have to learn a whole lot of new navigational skills, having just had brain surgery. There is no difference in terms of usage and features between a trial version and a licensed version.
Could you tell me do you get any specific error message when it crashes, or does it crash while using a particular feature, or is it random?
Can you also try with a different user account (admin) on your MAC, check if it behaves same there?

Lots of crashes

(sorry for my english, I'm french)
I experience a lot of crashes with CS5.5 when editing a H.264 1080p video (without video or audio effects)
The problem starts when the "Program" (output) window stops working. Then, sometimes Premiere crashes and sometimes not. When it doesn't crash I have to restart the program to make the "Program" window working again.
Here are the characteristics of my computer :
- Pentium Dual Core T4500 @2.3 GHz
- 3GB DDR3 Memory
- video card : Intel GMA 4500HD
What can I do ?

I am surprised that you are ever able to edit smoothly.
I do not wish to belabor a point, but your computer is woefully underpowered.
Another major drawback will be the Intel embedded video chip. The chips, themselves, are not really bad, but there is almost zero support for the drivers. Those chips are fine for wordprocessing, some spreadsheet work, e-mails and surfing the Internet, but are not up to par for image editing, or especially video editing.
I would take a look at this ARTICLE, to see how to get the most from your computer, but would also see Harm's What PC to Build, as it will not be that long, before you are in the market, especially if you wish to do video editing.

Getting lots of crashes

I don't know what information I can give but I'm getting lots of crashes at the mo' on FCPX 10.0.07
Brought in some mpeg2 from DVD via mpeg streamclip into apple pro res 422.
Project and media (26 Gb for 220 items) on a 2T external raid.
Doing lots of transforms and crops to eliminate zooms in inherited footage.
Render times are long, quite slow but just gettings system hangs without even FCPX asking for crash reports.
Any magic buttons? Tx

Lots of crashing, freezing, and strange lines on screen after recent update

I dutifully update the software when asked and suddenly I have all the following symptoms. Any advice? Thanks!

1. A small line appears in some windows; it's multi-colored and about 3 pixels high. It goes away when I resize or play with the window.
2. My computer crashes more often when being woken up from sleeping by pressing the mouse button; I will press my mouse to wake up the computer and it just shuts off. This has happened for the past year but happens much more frequently this week after the recent update. I took it in to the apple store months ago and they could not repeat it. It happened 3x today.
3. A few programs have frozen / stopped responding, way too more frequently than normal.

Hi again Andy, I don't make it over here to Leo very often.
Here's what I'd try...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), & use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, reboot once more.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.
Leo clears a lot more caches than Tiger does in Safe boot.

Firefox 7 hangs a whole lot in the past several weeks. I can hardly get through typing an email without it freezing and making me have to kill the program and start over.

I am using firefox 7, windows 7 pro, 64 bit machine.
If I am typing an email I never know if I can finish because it often freezes and I cannot get the mouse to do anything. I have to hit "control-alt-delete" and stop firefox and sometimes the process and then start over. Also firefox is consuming a lot of cpu resources
(over 110,000k and sometimes near 200,000k). Is that normal?

My I pod touch battery dies a lot and crashes??

I had an Ipod touch 5 and it cracked so I replased it for a new one at apple. So they gave me one, but it crashes a lot and the battery dies fast. I charge it all the night and use it at school and at home and it only last one hour. I close all my apps after using it and lower the brightness but nothing seems too work. I dont want to restore my Ipod cause I'm affraid all my minecraft worlds would be deleted amd plus I dont have a computer where I can back up it. Help!!!!!

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

K8N Diamond Plus... Lots o Crashes, and other wierdness

Well, gotta new build here. Ran fast and hard from an Abit A8N SLI that was never stable, after 5 months of tinkering.
Moved to the Diamond Plus SLI X16. Never had an MSI before, but had lots of the others (Asus, Epox, Abit, ECS, PCChips, etc) and am so far pretty happy.
However, there are some strange things happening as I iron out the bugs.
No BSODs fortunately yet to speak of, but plenty o crashes when exiting FarCry, Quake etc. Never during the game, but when I exit it blows up. Also, lots of graphics distortion, which I never had before.
The thing'll run Prime stable for hours with stock settings for everything plus OCZ mem settings specifically for this mobo (1T).
But the crashing while exiting is wierd. The windows dump file has no reference to drivers or anything else, niether does the event viewer, so I have no leads, especially as I'm not that experienced in this Mobo yet.
I have the latest Nforce and Geforce drivers. The thing is pretty stable, but gets a little wierded out in games.
Ideas greatly welcomed, no matter how hairbrained (but please don't tell me its my power supply )

First off this is not criticism, but the Diamond Plus uses AMD Hyper Transport Technology more than any MB I seen, there may be high end severs that use it more, but I am not into that.
If you are going to be OC, the Diamond Plus you are going to have known something, a lot, about HT or you MB is going to be unstable.
The lay out of the BIOS HT parameters may not be prefect, but it is not bad for a companies first draft and that is what its.
With HT the timing and bandwidth between Processor, Northbridge and Southbridge is all variable in word length and clock speed. If you do not have them all set correctly you reduce system stably and throughput.
Because to be the maximum performance out of the system yon not only have to tune FSB, Memory Clock and all memory parameters. You are now PCI Express Bus parameters and HT parameters tune. You will notice I did not say adjust, they now need to be tuned, because they all have to be running just the right data rate or you will get corrupted data. Anyone of the subsystems now running to slow or to fast can crash the system.
And right now the Diamond Plus is stall a mix of old and new Technologies and everything has to be tuned manually or just leave it a factory default values, which will not be the fastest the system will run, but it hopefully will be the most stable.
The days of just cranking up the clocks to OC your compute are over.

When submitting a problem, include a complete list of your system components; include part numbers, all Power Supply Voltages, and their output ratings. It is almost impossible to estimate what your problem is without knowing something about it.
