A wireless usb device to connect to sound sticks?

Is there a wireless USB device that will connect to my harman kardon sound stick speakers? Does any body remember those nice speakers sold in apple stores that took up too much space beside your computer. I need a remote wireless device. Thanks in advance.

  • An error occurred while USB device is connected to your Horizon View 6.1 desktop

    Hi,
Recently we upgraded View from 5.3 to 6.1. Currently I use the virtual desktop agent 5.3.3 (VMware-viewagent-x86_64-5.3.3-2299613). USB redirection works fine.
If I update the agent to 6.1 (VMware-viewagent-x86_64-6.1.0-2509441), the USB redirection is no longer working with this error message:
An error occurred while USB device is connected to your Horizon View desktop.
    Any suggestions are welcomed.
    Thanks.

Error -4 is almost always an indication that the connection between the AirPort Utility application and the AirPort router is is being blocked by....
    1) The Windows Firewall
    2) Microsoft Security Essentials...if installed on your PC
    3) The anti-virus software
    4) 1&2, or 2&3, or 1&3, or all of the above
When I used to use a PC, the only way that I could ever get the AirPort setup was to turn off all of the items above, configure the AirPort, then turn everything back on again.
Life would be tons easier if you had an iPhone or iPad to configure the AirPort Extreme, or you could borrow a Mac for a few minutes.

  • "This High-Speed USB device is connected a non High-Speed USB Hub" pops up!

Hi. I have an iPod mini and a Window XP desktop. I've checked my computer as stated in the forum. I know I have a USB 2.0 port according to one of the posts I've read, but I guess it's not a high speed LOL. So I was wondering if it takes more time to fully recharge the iPod mini with a non High-Speed USB Hub than it does with the High-Speed USB Hub.

  • Any ideas on a cheap 100% airport compatible wireless usb device?

I need to upgrade my wireless to n, and wish to do so with a USB wireless dongle. I tried using one but it was incompatible with airport and resultingly was slow and inefficient, not to mention i couldnt actually connect system wide to my LAN, and cant use ssh and ftp with my other computers D:. I also cant port forward my server :'( because my stupid adapter doesnt have a recognisable static IP . But it gets worse, because when i go online searching for an adapter, every one of them costs around £50 (~$90?) Does anyone know of a suitable good g/n wireless usb adapter that works with airport and doesnt cost a bomb? It really lets the OS down if i cant use the internet.

Please check out this wireless USB adapter offered by Other World Computing.

  • Trackpad doesn't work for 5 seconds after any USB device is connected

This is really irritating. I could plug in any USB device - a hard drive or iPhone, and the trackpad will not work for about seconds of trying to get the pointer to move around the screen. Normally there's nothing connected to the Mac, so when something is plugged in, even if I just plug something in and walk away from it and come back some time later, if I try to move the trackpad, nothing will happen for about 5 seconds after trying to move the mouse pointer. Very strange.
    Any idea what's going on?

Seems like a strange problem. You could try putting dbus earlier in the list, second after syslog-ng is where I used to have it. Moving to systemd might fix it too.

has anyone else heard of this? annoying isn't the word....

You may be exceeding the total power available on the USB bus. If that is the case, one solution may be to get a self-powered USB hub. Connect the iPod and other devices that are frequently connected and disconnected on-the-fly to the hub. This will also reduce wear-and-tear on the more valuable USB ports on the computer. You can always get another $20 USB hub. Make sure it is the type that has its own power supply.

  • [Athlon64] win XP doesn't load if USB devices are connected

K8T Neo2 Series-K8T800 Pro. I connected HP 7450, HP Scanjet 4600, ADSL modem at the usb ports and win XP Home wouldn't start! I could only connect usb devices after win is loaded! Is there a BIOS that corrects the Inconvenience?

If you are having problems with USB ports, read this topic.
That's very helpful, and something I'll remember in future, but that was related to front USB connectors.
My slow boot happens when the devices I mentioned are even plugged into the rear ports. In fact, I even noticed this on my old 440BX based Gateway, so I always thought it was an XP issue.
Legacy USB support was disabled on both PCs to boot. (heh)

  • M30X-125 cooling fan is running very often if USB device is connected

    Hello,
I have used USB devices with my M30X-125 for a few months and noticed that as soon as I connect a USB mouse or printer with external power supply the fan cooling works very often. With no USB device the fan cooling is very "quiet".
I updated the BIOS with the last 1.90 release and changed parameters (reduce processor speed) of the Power Management Utility. No effect on this fan cooling issue.
Can you help me please to limit fan cooling work with USB device connected?
    Regards

    Hi Phil
I agree with you but I believe that it is not easy to make a optimum there. If you check other notebooks from different producers the cooling vents are not so quiet. Like you know the units are designed to be small and a lot of hardware is placed at small place. The warmness is very high especially if the CPU activity is high and the units must be cooled before the hardware can be damaged.
I have tested cooling method intensively with my unit (Tecra M1) and if the cooling method and CPU activity is set to lower level the unit doesnt run like I want. Because of that I can live with sporadically running cooling fan but the performance is fantastic and all running processes flow smoothly.

  • WUSB (wireless usb) devices

Can anybody suggest a source for WUSB (wireless USB) accessories? My X300 has WUSB support, but I haven't been able to find any hardware accessories  that work with it.
I did purchase a WUSB hub from Belkin only to find out it runs on a different frequency than the X300 internal WUSB antenna. So it worked only with the big belkin USB dongle. I thought the whole point of WUSB is that you just move within range of the WUSB hub and your USB devices all work over the air without the need for a dongle. Anybody have a setup like this?
    thanks!

I wouldn't rely on wireless USB for anything just now.
The only company making the chips shut down, and there is some debate about whether it is dead. The situation is murky. I'm not surprised you can't find much hardware!

  • Satellite S1800-314 is slow if a USB device is connected

I have a Satellite S1800-314 but its slow when I conect USB stuff like wireless dougle or and USB HDD
    I'm running Windows XP SP2 PRO 2002
Is there anything I can do to make it faster?

    Hello
In your case I would first update the chipset drivers. You can find it on the Toshiba website in *Archive*. Furthermore you can update the BIOS too. Maybe this solves the problem with the USB devices.
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
There are a lot things that you can do to make Windows XP faster. Use Google for this and you will find enough.
Here are some examples how you can make it faster: Disable start up programs in msconfig, disable services that you dont need, defragment your HDD from time to time, and so far.

  • Android / USB devices keep connecting and disconnecting on R7

My daughter has an R7, and she is having a weird problem with the USB ports on it.No android device can stay connected. As soon as you plug it, it makes the connect sound then the disconnect sound and keeps cycling between connecting and disconnecting. It is not related to the device as I have tried two different phones and one tablet all with different cables, all work fine on other computers. And I tried on the three available USB ports of the laptop, all behave the same. Searching online I found a lot of people with similar issues mostly unresolved. I did disable the USB suspend option in the power options without any results, as well as uninstall all USB hub so they would be reinstalled at boot time, and installed all optional windows updates. She is also experiencing another issue on her USB ports, we have a Samsung slim external DVD player that uses a Y USB cable for data and power that also works fine on any other machine. On her R7, when playing a Video, the video keeps making blocks at regular intervals like something is preventing the full data stream. Wondering if this is related. Apart from that, USB mouse, USB keys or external USB drives appear to work fine. Anyone with a similar issue and a definitive fix?

Thanks, but I seem to have found a solution to both issues. 1) Regarding the android devices that kept disconnecting and reconnecting, after readiong this threadhttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2900614 I checked what registry keys were present on my wife's surface pro3 for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_XXXX&PID_XXXX\YYYY\Device Parameters and found that there was three DWORD values in there that were not present on the R7SelectiveSuspendEnabled
    EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled
DeviceSelectiveSuspended So I added these 3 DWORD and set them all to zero, and the issue is gone. You may not need the three of them, but I have not tested them one at a time yet. 2) For the External DVD blocky playback, it turned out to be quite trivial. Someone had enabled hardware acceleration in the VLC player settings. I reset all the VLC settings, and it worked fine from there. Hope this can help others

  • Wireless USB Device not recognized by Mac OSX

Help! I just bought a Hawking Technology Wireless-G USB Adapter. I followed the directions carefully and installed the software from the CD, then I inserted the adapter into the USB port on my Mac, and... nothing happened! According to the directions, a window was supposed to pop up after going to (System Preferences --> Network) saying that another device has been recognized. It's like my USB ports have been disabled or something. Unfortunately, I don't have any other Mac-compatible computer stuff that plugs into USB ports, so I don't know if the problem is my computer or if the problem is the Wireless adapter. What can I do?

Wow... Mac OS X 10.3 technically is not even supported on that old PowerBook, if it's a "Powerbook G3 Series" (aka Wallstreet).
Actually, it's strange that it is called a +Powerbook G3 Series+ because that model only went up to 300 MHz speed. Does it have a built-in USB port?
My guess for why it doesn't work is because that wireless product may need to have USB 2.0 ports. If your PowerBook as USB ports built-in, they are USB 1.1 ports.

  • Newbie question about setting up a wireless USB device as a router.

Hi. I have this Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector, which used to be very useful for getting my DS and Wii online (I don't have a wireless router.)
By using some modified drivers from Buffalo I think, I eventually manage to install it as an ordinary wireless device and later set it up as an all-purpose wi-fi router device. I want to do exactly this in Arch if possible.
As far as I know, there are no real drivers for this device, but I tried some, and got stuck later on.
I basically want to simply be able to use my laptop, PS3, Wii and DS on it. Nothing fancy, and no encryption, as I only use it when necessary.
After plugging the device in the USB, I ran
    $ hwdetect --show-net
    NET : forcedeth ppp_generic slhc mac80211 rfkill rt2500usb rt2x00lib rt2x00usb cfg80211
I looked like it's was quite ordinary actually. So I tried modprobing rt2500usb (should I modprobe the 2 others too?).
Surprise, surprise! I haven't edited my /etc/rc.conf at all yet.
    $ iwconfig
    lo no wireless extensions.
    eth0 no wireless extensions.
    wmaster0 no wireless extensions.
    wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:""

    Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
Well, at least it detected my wlan. I haven't been able to test if I can actually get online with this thing as there is no network to try on around here.
So, where do I go from here? The KISS way, if you know what I mean, hehehe

Thank you. Got a bit further, but probably not in the right direction  : [
Figured out that the WFC uses the rt2570 chipset (according to wikipedia), which I downloaded from the link you gave. Installed it, and had to blacklist the other ralink-modules that were present for it to work.
Now, my iwconfig looks like this:
    lo no wireless extensions.
    eth0 no wireless extensions.
    rausb0 RT2500USB WLAN ESSID:"" Nickname:""
    Mode:Monitor Frequency=2.412 GHz Bit Rate=11 Mb/s

Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
    Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
    Well, it apperaently did something.
By looking at the lsmod it only shows up the rt2570.
Well, sudo iwconfig rausb0 mode master returns the same error I had ... :[
Does this mean I'm screwed? xD
EDIT: The forums on that site suggested that the master mode was disabled in the legacy drivers (and the other drivers for that matter) :[
Well, dual boot here we go
