  • Recurring A12E1 error code problem on Mac

I have a problem with recurring A12E1 error code messages each time CC wants to update.
    If I follow these instructons:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/a12e1-error-downloading-creat ive-cloud.html
, I can make one download but when it is time for a new update, the same error is back.
Any suggestion for how to fix that? It is on a Mac.

Thanks, but I have already tried that. The suggestions in that discusson is the same as what I have tried according to this link:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/a12e1-error-downloading-creative-cloud.html
It works once but comes back again within about a month. Does it have anything to do with the monthly subscription?

  • When trying to update I keep getting A12E1 error message.

I am using photoshop on a mac. Adobe tells me there is a creative cloud update, looks like it is installing the update, then comes up with A12E1 error message. I have no idea what this means.

I have no idea what this means.
Neither do we. You have not provided any system information or otehr details. Generally update issues relate to other updates having introduced incompatibilities with shared components and such, so most of the time you will have to run the Cleaner Tool and simply start over.

  • A12E1 error yet again

Again I have received a notification that Creative Cloud had an update and again when I attempted to install I got the A12E1 error. Last time I got this error (about 3 weeks ago) I posted to the forum and got some hints from Adobe staff. I did what they said and it installed. Yet with the next update I got the same old error message again, just like a bad smell.
So today I followed another Adobe staff member recommendation and it appears that all my CC apps have now been removed and I will have to spend many hours dowloading them again. What an incredible waste of time.
Adobe, you need to get your act together. I am getting a bit tired of having to rename folders and download the latest version of the installer every time there is an update. It is costing me time and money. I am paying YOU, you need to make it easier for ME.
And to your helpful staff who may feel compelled to reply to this and give me some useful tips. If you want to be truly helpful, tell me how I can fix this once and forever. Not just until the next update.

    Thanks for your reply.
Because I need to use these apps every day I decided to try restoring them from backup (Time Machine OSX 10.7.5) before your message arrived. I did this because (a) there didn't seem to be anything in the CC updater that allowed me to reinstall and (b) reinstalling using the updater takes around 12 hours for each app. I don't have the fastest connection in the world, but it's not the slowest, either. Restoring worked fine, however I don't know if I am using the most recent version or not. I've checked through the app in Help>Updates and the application manager tells me that InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver are up to date. I can only wait until the next update arrives to see if I have to go through a whole new process of errors and having to change folder names etc, etc.
However, Illustrator is being difficult. The application manager tells me that there is a 151mb update available. I downloaded it from the link you provided but when I try to install the update failed, here is the error log message: "Adobe Illustrator CC Update (version 17.1.0). There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U44M1U5".
I am at my wit's end here. It takes a really long time to download/install the apps using the installer and I can't go through the errors with Creative Cloud each time there is an update. Seems like I am going round in circles.

  • A12E1 Error Code

When the latest update to CC was released, the CC would open, suggest it needed to Update and simply crash back to desktop with no error code.
Hunting around, the solution appeared to be uninstall CC and re-install, not a big deal, so I did (using Programs and Features in Win 8 64bit), but this then threw a new error of the A12E1 variety.
So I followed the options to resolve that, close AAM, rename folders and so on (cant use the Adobe cleaner tool, because CC has already been uninstalled and the cleaner tool doesn't give an option to clean CC, just all the other CC apps I have installed) and nothing worked, same error every time.
This means i'm now in the position of having no way to update my paid for CC apps and a non-working piece of frankly expensive software.
Please can someone give me an option on how to fix this?  (please don't simply point to http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/a12e1-error-downloading-creative-cloud.html as i've already tried all of those options as mentioned above)

Moving this discussion to the Creative Cloud Download & Install forum.

Hey, getting the A12E1 error code when trying to update creative cloud.  I am on a macbook pro OSX 10.7.5

Have tried repairing permissions and downloading from another user, as this was an issue before.  Any clues or help would be most apprecaited!

Nevermind.  I uninstalled CC and re-installed it and it seems to be working now.

  • A12E1 Error on Application Update

Responded to Adobe's invitation to update my CC apps; process crapped out with this error and directed me to this forum for 'support'
I have not seen any helpful response from Adobe staff on the issue. I don't believe that its an 'internet connectivity' issue, as it appears that many users in many environments are experiencing the same problem.

Sorry that you're facing this issue. It is not in every scenario that A12E1 is a connectivity issue. Are you trying to update the CC apps from within CC desktop access application. If so, then can you please tell me what is the build number of your CC app by going inside CC preferences and then Account Tab. You may also like to quit CC app and then relaunch it and try to update again to check if it successfully updates.

  • A12E1 Error on Failed Install of Adobe Application Manager

I am running Mac OSX 10.8.3 and I am trying to install Adobe Application Manager, the install goes most of the way through then fails and gives me an Error code: A12E1.
What is this and how do I get around it?

Amanda0880 I would recommend reviewing your installation log files to determine the error which is preventing the installation from completing.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation logs at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • The fix for the A12E1 Error code!!

After weeks of talking to people at Adobe and doing every single fix they told me and having complete failure every single time I finally got it nailed thanks to the 6-7th guy I talked to!
Here is the fix for A12E1....
On your computer you will create a NEW USER ACCOUNT
Be sure to give it ADMINISTRATOR access
Go to Adobe.com and download CRETIVE CLOUD, it will install the CC as well as the ADOBE APPLICATION MANAGER
When the install is complete and you've downloaded all of the programs you want SWITCH BACK to your old USER ACCOUNT and the programs will all be in there ready to roll.
I never thought I would be done with this giant pain but it really does work
Hit me up on Twitter and let me know how it goes for you. @Bruce_Bishop
    Enjoy

Uninstall the application, reinstall it. Also download the update manually from the Adobe site. Without knowing anything about your system, it doesn't get any more specific than that. And please ask such questions in the product specific forum next time.

  • The A12E1 error on installing Adobe CC

Have been working on this all day. I have tried everyone's workarounds. I now give up. Adobe you have me beaten. I cannot use your flagship paid for subscription on my windows 8.1 computer. I do not want to try to fix it anymore, I feel I have done my bit.  I will continue with CC on my W7 laptop 'till I can get alternatives in place and then I will quit CC forever. Well done Adobe!
What a waste of a Sunday...

    Hi TheBoxBrownie,
I am sorry for the inconvinience caused to you. Please try the below mentioned steps to fix the issue.
Please navigate to this location and rename OOBE folder to OOBE.old from these locations.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Local\Adobe
If above steps doesnt fix the issue then, please try creating a new Admin User account and try installing CC Desktop apps there.
