A215 S5817 died after BIOS Flash last night. Any help?

So I was updating my BIOS last night to the current 1.9 from my 1.8 because I was going to install Windows 7 today. Well during the flash update (through toshiba.com downloads) it started working, when it got to block 3 of 17, the computer just went black and that's it. It appeared to still be running as the activity light was on, but nothing was working. I finally shut the computer down by holding down the power button and rebooting it, nothing happens, it does act like the HD is spinning, but no screen, no nothing.
What are my options?

you will have to take it to a repair facility and have them fix it. you will have to pay for it also. just because you were installing windows se7en doesnt mean you need to update the bios unless it specificly fixes the problem you are having. if you do need to update for that reason you NEVER do it through windows. you always download and burn to a bootable cd and use that to update bios. windows is just not a stable enough platform to do a bios update from.

T400 died after BIOS flash

From windows (7 x64) I`ve tried to update the BIOS.
It was processing and after that it restarted itself unexpectedly.
Now after turning the notebook on it beeps twice and thats all.
Can`t see anything on the screen.
Tried to download the BIOS flash bootable CD, but unable to boot from that to repaire the BIOS.
I have warranty, but I think I will have to send the machine to another country(im in Hungary) for weeks, so I ask you as there maybe a solution for this...however I`ve `googled` for hours about this.

Adwords crashing when opening after updates loaded last night- any clues

After loading recent updates when I try to access my Adwords account the browser constantly loads then crashes with a message Apples been advised. I will assume they will respond when they get around to it. I haven't loaded another browser yet wonder should I wait for a miracle or any suggestion for browser

It may not just be Adwords that's causing Safari to crash. If you post a crash report in your reply, we may be able to help you.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

After firefox update last night to 36.0.4, it is not starting?

After firefox update last night to 36.0.4. I cannot open Firefox. It says Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open.
I try to close it under task manager, it is not listed under process but under details - Cannot end task, as it says access is denied.
I try to look for help on the net. It says to delete the file PARENT.LOCK, It says action cannot be complete as the file is open in Firefox.
I try to shut down my computer, even log out on my current user but cannot delete the file Parent.lock.
I am using a win 8.0
The easiest way is to uninstall and to install a fresh application, but will this wipe out all my bookmarks etc....

790GX-GD70 broken after bios flash.

So i had this board for a few months all OK. Used to flash bios from pure dos. Did that several times no prob. But today i decided to use the on board flashy thingy Now the board wont post, getting the post code FF that's it.
Try´d to change RAM, CPU. GFX, PSU. Everything. But its still dead! Doesent the board have somekind of dualbios or something!?

Test the system in barebone configuration. Clear CMOS with main A/C power cable removed from your PSU and Attach a PS/2 Keyboard. Then press CTRL + Home. See if there are any changes regarding the Bootblock/POST Checkpoint displayed.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Have you tried transferringing the videos via usb (sinc you're having trouble transferring them with PhotoSync) as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 and just transferring the photos with PhotoSync?

try to press the sleep/wake button + home button at the same time and hold them until the apple logo appears. that should help.

I also had this problem. Go to settings> itunes & app store, tap on your apple ID and sign out. Then open itunes store. It should now open.
Then sign back in again and the problem should be resolved

Cant boot pc after Bios Flash

I finally got my K7N2 mobo working so i decided to flash the bios to get rid of those faulty temps. the flas was sucessful and it restarted but now it wont boot up ive tryed everything i can think of and still nothing any ideas?

I have the K7N2, flashed the bios to the latest the other day looking for the temp detection fix. And basically mine did the same thing and I believe it is some sort of weird ram problem. It took a good 3 hrs to get mine to boot after the flash, although, I have to say i think it was booting some of the times, just no video signal. Then sometimes when I hit the power button, it would seem to get power for a split second then none. Eventually, after many attempts, (finally got it going by hitting the reset button until it booted with video signal) it booted and the temp had dropped 20 C!!! The machine ran fine but just try to reboot it, lol. I was running 512mb of generic 333 ddr (single stick), last night I added a second stick to the second channel and presto, boots fine! Weird problems! Also, with the single stick in, I had to run the ram by spd, after adding the second stick, I cranked the ram settings up in the cmos and it works great.
I will also mention that I run a 2100+ in it @ 2700+ by setting the fsb to 166 and the vcore to 1.625.

K8t Neo2 problem with resume from standby after BIOS flash

Previously while using the 3.2 BIOS and a Winchester 3200+, Both Standby and hibernation worked perfectly almost without fail. Since I flashed the BIOS to 9.3 and installed an X2 4200+ I have had a problem with resume from standby. The machine starts up OK but the 2nd processor core (cpu1) is almost maxed out and stays that way. Task manager shows total cpu load as about 45-50% (all on cpu1) but shows no running process using any cpu load, just the usual System Idle process at about 99%. The only way to get it back down to normal again seems to be to reboot. By Contrast Hibernation works fine, with no increase in cpu load after resume. I have all the latest MS patch's installed (I think!) the AMD dual core driver and the MS and AMD dual core optimizers. Any ideas what is going on?

Noticed last night that S! standby seems to work OK. Also was experimenting with a fresh windows install on a spare hard drive (checking on another problem). The fresh windows install appeared to work with S4 hibernation, so it looks like that is the answer to that problem. However the problem with high cpu load on the second core after resume from S3 suspend to RAM standby was still present. This problem is so specific and so repeatable (it does it every time without fail), that I feel there must be some very well defined reason for it. Unfortunately I have no ideas what could be wrong. Have now tried Windows re-install, latest cpu drivers, AMD dual core optimizer, MS dual core optimizer, Cool'n'quite disabled/enabled, and various others and suspend to RAM still gives the same behaviour

Problems with MSI K8MM-ILSR mATX after BIOS flash...

I flashed it with the latest AMI bios dated 12/21/2004 and i used the LiveUpdate Windows-Based flashing. Everything was perfect and ran fine, comp rebooted and everything is still running great, EXCEPT....
Now my memory wont run at DDR400, There is a DDR Setting, if anyone wants to DLOAD the manual and look with me....Its either set to 'Limit' or 'Auto'. Auto on the old bios loaded at DDR400, but now its DDR333. When i choose limit, my DDR Options come up, DDR100, 200, 266, 333, 400. When i set it to 400, DDR333 STILL comes up. Aside from that i dont know where the dividers are. CPU said my ram is at 333 aswell. Its stating that the mobo is using CPU/12, which i dont like.
Any help or ideas? I dont really wanna use the old bios.
EDIT: I tried removing CMOS battery, resetting CMOS, and using the second to last BIOS, still no DDR400.

Since I now have two boards with memory setup restrictions (see stats) from MSI, I decided to work the problem with my own fix. That's Danno's "don't get mad, get even-better-results policy". I had a choice of hacking the Bios or something more entertaining......
Last night, I wrote a PCR File for the AMD Athlon 64 memory controller, i.e. the Hypertransport bridge. I googled to find one, but apparently no one's bothered to write one. I'm doing alpha testing now with the PCR, and the results have been good. Are you familiar with H. Oda's WPCREDIT/WPCRSET utilities? I see some of the folks in this Forum have been using it to toggle 1T/2T Command Rate. Since Memtest86+ can provide alterations to settings on the fly to establish best memory tweaks with stability, I'm now able to recreate any of those settings with WPCREDIT from within Windows. I had fun last night tweaking a setting with WPCREDIT running on screen side-by-side with the memory window from CPU-Z. As I'd tweaked a setting, CPU-Z would almost immediately update (on it's own) to the altered setting....fun fun. It was good verification of the PCR. I do have more testing and documentation to do.
I need a beta tester/volunteer in a day or so. Are you interested? Are you familiar with those utilities?
