A215 Satellite will not enter Recovery Mode

The model number is a215-4807. I ordered the recovery disks (yes the correct ones)then I insert disk 1, press f12 on start up, Select CD/DVD drive to boot, then the computer continues to boot normally as if there were no disk... Please help! Thanks

Satellite A215-S4807
..a PXE-E61 Media TEst Failure error on start up.
It means that the BIOS is trying to boot from a network connection. Typically, that implies the hard disk is not available, i.e., that it needs replacing.

My iPad air is disabled because I endeterd the wong keycode too many times and now and will not enter recovery mode. I haven't a clue what to do next?

Follow the steps in this Apple support page.
Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
If you must use Recovery Mode, which is at the bottom of the linked page, follow all steps very carefully. Even hen you might have to try several times.

  • Macbook Pro will not enter Recovery Mode

I just bought a 2010 macbok pro. When trying to restore everything from my time capsule i was going to put it in recovery mode. When i turn the computer off and restart it using Cmd+R it just takes me back to log in screen every time. I was told by a friend to maybe try turning it on useing power+option... After doing that it popped up the "macintosh HD" icon. When i click that icon it takes me to the log in screen.
Is there anything else i can try to get this into recovery mode so i can restore from backup?

The computer does not have a Recovery HD. What version of OS X is currently installed on it? If your Time Machine backup is current and was made with Mountain Lion or later then connect it to the computer, OPTION boot the computer. Select the Time Machine device from which to boot the computer. This should boot from a hidden Recovery HD image on the backup drive. Once in the Recovery HD you can restore your backup. I suggest you first erase the MBP's drive so your restored backup is fresh.

  • Wireless keyboard will not enter discoverable mode

Hi, Changed the batteries on my bluetooth apple keyboard and now the keyboard won't pair with the iMac; nor will it enter "discoverable" mode (when I press the keyboard power button the keyboard light illuminates green for about a second and then goes dim.)

Anyone come up with a solution? I looked at the other closely related issues where the green light wouldn't come up and they suggested using aluminum foil.  I tried that and it didn'tdo the trick.
I'd hate to have to buy a new keyboard, even though this one is a few years old, it worked great until now.

  • Sattlite Will not start recovery mode

Hi, I should of reported this a while ago but I never had to do it since I had windows 7.
Anyways my laptop is a  Sattlite L305-S5955 and I cannot access the recovery partition of the system.
Yes i did upgrade it to windows 7, but I recently caught a virus that corrupted my "Ci.dll" so I was planning on restoring the PC but when i try to press the "0" key that my manual says to press to acess the recovery mode, nothing happens.
Is this normal or is there an issue with my pc?

    Is this normal..?
When you custom (i.e., clean) install Windows 7, the recovery partition is removed.
If you failed to burn them, you can order the recovery discs.
       Order Toshiba Recovery Media
That will restore the hard drive to its original 32-bit Windows Vista Home Basic, of course.

  • IPod Help needed from serious Apple gurus - iPod Touch 2g 16g stuck in restart loop. Will NOT enter DFU or recovery mode, NOT recognized by iTunes on Windows or Mac

Ok, so here's the not so sad story. I bought an iPod Touch 2g 16g through Ebay - so forget warranties. Luckily I did not pay much. The description said it was stuck on the apple logo, so I figured it would be an easy put into recovery mode and restore problem.
    Not so much.
If you plug the iPod in and charge up the battery the LCD will come to life after a while with the apple logo, then it displays the spinning wheel with the apple logo over it. That will last anywhere from 10 - 15 minutes, then the iPod will go blank for a few secs and then start up the cycle all over again.
As stated, this iPod will NOT enter either DFU or recovery mode and believe me I've tried it several times several different ways with different timings, connected via USB to a Mac, connected to a different Mac running Windows, and connected to just the charger. Nothing. Occasionally the screen might go blank while holding the power and home buttons but nothing else happens and then it starts it's usual cycle again.
Again, iPod NOT recognized by iTunes on either Mac or Windows side. Since I got off Ebay and seller didn't know much about it, I have no idea if someone tried to jailbreak this or not.
I will not put much money into this machine. So I guess my question is: does this behavior mean that the motherboard is clearly fried? Are there any software programs that might diagnose what the problem is? Could it be as simple as a fried battery?
And most importantly, is this iPod simply toast or is there anything anyone can suggest????
Really any suggestions would be greatly greatly appreciated. Seems a shame to just trash an iPod touch that might need a simple fix...
If it helps matters, I can tinker with iPods somewhat and have torn down and replaced several iPod touch 1g and 2g glass and digitizers with no problems. I'm somewhat software savvy but the whole jailbreak thing is new territory... and I can't really figure out the command in Windows or Mac terminals to list all connected devices so I have no idea if the computer even knows the iPod is there, even if iTunes doesn't. Guess that's it... ummm, please help???

Nothing huh? No one's had this problem or this isn't fixable... oh well... if anybody comes up with anything I'll check in occasionally...

  • IPhone 4S suddenly enters Recovery Mode by itself?

    Hi,
I need help recovering data from my wife's iPhone. It's an iPhone 4S, running iOS 5.0, un-jailbroken. She clicked on the app 'Dragon Story' and her phone went into recovery mode. Thing is, she has never backed up the iPhone since purchasing it in Oct 2011 even after numerous reminders from me. I know, I should have just done it for her. What saddens me is that we have lost all photos of our now 3 month old baby (2000+ photos).
It has never been jailbroken before, but I tried using Redsn0w, iRecovery, Recboot to kick it out of recovery mode but nothing works. Doing a hard reset just boots it back into recovery mode. Can someone please help me interpret the iRecovery log below and see what's wrong with it?

Entering recovery mode, starting command prompt
Can we recover the photos without doing a restore, and if we HAD to do a restore, can we recover the photos afterwards using third party software? Any suggestions and advice is most welcome. I think my wife has learnt her lesson, she was bawling her eyes out last night for losing all of our baby's pictures. Please help!
p.s. From what I've gathered, I can't kick it out of recovery mode because a bootrom exploit has not been found for the 4S. Should I wait unti one is released, or do you reckon it will never happen?
    Thanks in advance guys.
    Ben

Nevermind I was able to get out of recovery thanks to tinyumbrella

  • 3GS Enters Recovery Mode randomly!

3GS bought when new, is now randomly entering Recovery Mode. Seems like it does it more often than not when I am out of town and away from my computer.
It has been doing this since 4.0 release. It is now starting to do it more frequently.
Any idea's would be helpful as I am about 2+ hours away from a Apple Store.

It has enterered Recovery Mode again, this time I cannot get it out. I was running iOS 5 B7, so I tried restoring to that, I get the message "the iphone iphone could not be restored. this device isn't eligible for the requested build".
So ok, not a biggy I will just go back to 4.3.5, nope. I get error 1015. Now I put the phone into DFU mode(black screen only) and try both ways. Nothing, it gets to installing my new firmware and either itunes crashes when it gets close to finishing or the same errors pop back up.
So now I downloaded a few different softwares, TinyUmbrella, and Recboot, those do not work either.
    Any ideas?

  • My IPhone 4S keeps entering recovery mode after few hours

    Hi,
I bought a new IPhone 4S from 12/2011. The first month of usage is fine but after I plug it into Itunes in my PC, problems start to appear. The phone keeps entering recovery mode (screen with itunes logo and USB cable) after a few days. Not long later, it automatically goes into recovery mode after 4-5 hours or randomly. I tried to hold the power with home button to kick it out but it goes back to recovery mode again after few hours. The following issues are also detected:
    - Sometimes there is a blue horizontal line appear when device is rebooting with Apple logo.
    - Any apps other than Apple's default apps cannot be accessed (tap the icon and it gets kick out to the home screen).
    - A yellow screen is often seen and then device goes back to recovery mode by itself.
    - 2 to 3 out of 10 attempts holding home and power buttons can get it out of recovery mode while 7-8 times this does not help.
I even use Itunes on PC to recover the phone as new Iphone. I went through all the settings as a new phone but the problem still persists.
I thought this is minor software issue but after seeing all these behaviors, I suspect this may a hardware-related problem.
Did anyone experience this problem before?
    Cheers.

  • Unable to enter recovery mode

I'm using a rooted Xperia SL and I'm unable to enter recovery mode. I was running on Doomlord's pre rooted Stock JB ROM for Xperia S and Trinity ultimate Kernel. The problem started when I tried to flash Sound Enhancements and Walkman app from XDA forums.
After it flashed and I rebooted my device, my phone just kept restarting without being able to get to the homescreen. So I entered TWRP screen and I reflashed the JB ROM. Now, even though I flashed a recovery using Fastboot, I'm still unable to enter recovery mode
I tried using goo.manager but still no luck! The rom works fine and it's prerooted and I can use it to function normally, but I'm not able to enter recovery to flash other apps
    Please help

  • Enter recovery mode in M2

Hi! It tooks 2 days, while I could load a custom rom (Z4 XPERIENCE) to my phone. I do not remember, after the root, how could I enter the recovery mode. Everywhere I read, the following steps: - turn off - Push down key and power button - When phone vibrates release the power button, but do not release the down key Not works. I've tried to release the down key, when blue led is flash for a second, tried to push repeatedly the down button, tried to release the power button when Sony logo appears, and all of these combination. I've tried to use a Quick Boot application, push the recovery menu, but the factory menu is appearing. Can somebody tell me, how can I enter the recovery menu? I am using this: PhilZ_Touch_cwm6_M2_LB.flashable.zip

Doesn't helped, but I figured it myself. http://vaso.hu/blog/mobile/2015/06/sony-xperia-m2-enter-recovery-mode/ In my case, I should need to hold down the power and down key, and do not release any of them, and release both of them when blue led flash.

"We're Sorry, Activation Server Temporarily Unavailable, contact Customer Care...Your request Could Not Be Completed?"
99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
