A215 Strange Blank Screen Issue......

A215
Wouldn't boot, reset by removing batt, unplugging X 30 secs
Lights worked after, pressed fn+F5 got boot, splash for toshi garfed saying that nno hd.
Bios upgraded 1.30-2.0 left alone, came back, got gui, logged in no worries.
Did a restart, no screen...will look at ribbon cable, due to correct noises on boot.
While I do this, is there ant other considerations?

Please reseat memory, if problem still occurred you might consider purchase new motherboard or send to Toshiba Services Center for repair motherboard.  Most of Repair Service Center do the components repair (reflow northbrigde chipset) to resolved problem.  The motherboard repair usually cheaper than replaced new motherboard.
Good luck.

To you if I'm not mistaken...you upgraded to 9.0-1 via pacman,
but the fix was in 9.01 not 9.0-1.
If you read my post, I was responding to Vex who said 9.0[-1] fixed his issue. Knowing that 9.0[-1] != 9. 01 (and that the fix was in 9.01) , I told him it was weird that 9.0-1 fixed his problem (which is more polite than saying, "Bullsh*t!"), and I confirmed the weirdness by pointing out that the 9.0-1 upgrade I had performed earlier that morning did nothing for me (nor did I expect it to because the fix was in 9.01). Finally, I confirmed that building and installing 9.01 did the trick (as it was supposed to).
I don't really think anybody was confused about 9.0-1 != 9.01. That's why I asked who Stonecrest was talking to. No big deal.

  • Satellite A210 PSAFGC - Bios update to get rid of blank screen issue

I also have the blank screen problem and I would like to update my bios from the 1.30 version it came with.
The problem I have is that I have a model A210 part number PSAFGC.
The support bulletin 98082422 for the Bios update doesn't mention my part number exactly and I can't find anything for my model.
The 2 updates are to 1.70 and 1.90. I have read the text from both of these and they seem quite different.
Not sure what to do. Here is the bulletin info.
    Resolution:
Update the computer's BIOS to fix this problem, by clicking the appropriate link for your computer model from the following list.
    - Satellite A210 / A215, Part No. PSAFGU: BIOS version 1.70
    - Satellite A210 / A215, Part No. PSAEGU and PSAELU: BIOS version 1.90
    - Satellite Pro A210 / A215, Part No. PSAFHU: BIOS version 1.70
    - Satellite P200D / P205D, Part No. PSPBLU and PSPBQU: BIOS version 1.40
he computer's Part No. is printed on a label on the underside of the case.
    Any help??

    Hi
The Satellite *A210 PSAFGC* series seems to be a Toshiba *Canadian* series and I would recommend checking the Toshiba Canadian driver page if you want download the compatible BIOS for your notebook.

  • I looked up the blank screen issue with itunes on my windows PC, and followed the directions with the autorun.exe and all that but my comp has Bonjour (which is by apple) so now how do I fix Itunes?  Thanks

    Hi,
I'm getting the blank screen in my itunes store.  I followed the help script here Can't connect to the iTunes Store - Apple Support and downloaded the autoruns, exe but it just shows my comp has Bonjour (which is apple).  But now what?  How do I fix the blank screen?
    Thanks!

    Hello there, livviboobear.
It sounds like your error message is in regards to having installed an older version of iTunes on your computer. The following Knowledge Base article offers up the step-by-step on how to properly uninstall iTunes:

  • Blank screen issues

I have a satellite Toshiba laptop that I love so much. But the screen flickers once in a while and eventually goes blank. Is it something I can fix instead of taking it for repairs or buying a new one.

first thing you need to do is make sure this issue not related to HW
some people maybe got issue like yours at Toshiba forum

  • Droid 2 Global Reboots & Blank Screen issues

This is my second Droid 2 Global.  The first one was replaced within the 30 day purchase period due to a battery charging issue.  Verizon tried replacing the battery (that gave an 1 hour a day more), tried extended battery, no change, could only get 5-6 hours life a day even with the extended batter.  Replaced the phone a week ago with 2nd one, brand new, and now have several issues except the battery. The battery life is great, get a full day, 7 AM - midnight, and rarely goes less than 30%.  But, new issue developed:
    1.  Screen will just go blank at random times, and cannot get the screen display to work without pulling the battery.  Even hitting the off button on the top, it will not turn off or restart.  A call can come in, if I guess where to hit on the screen, I can answer it or with my bluetooth headset.
    2.  Frequent reboots, but short ones, not the full on one.  Today as an example it rebooted 5 times, every 1-2 hours. It will do it in the middle of a call, ending the call, or even when it is just sitting idle.  Another time, I was starting to dial a number, or look up a contact, and boom, reboot.
    A couple of notes,
    1.  the first Global 2 did not do that, just had a charging issue with the phone.  But the apps were exactly the same.  Yes, it would do a reboot, but a full one randomly once a week or so, but not every other hour.
    2.  I am not new to Droid, I also have an original one purchased over a year ago, same apps.  I just replaced it 30 days ago or so.  It rarely rebooted.  I just replaced it because it was too slow in response and the battery was starting to age.
    3.  Been removing Apps that I have been running successfully for over a year thinking one of the updates started this, but I am running out of possibilities.
Any suggestions other than a full factory reset.  That just does not make sense I would have to do that since the phone is only 7 days old, and it has been doing this since its birth.

I understand your frustration in this matter. I suggest completing a master reset of the device. Please back up the phone's information on your PC before the reset, since you will lose the data and the phone will be restored to factory settings. I have included the steps for the master reset below.
    Turn off the phone
Power on phone while pressing "X" key on qwerty keypad - release "X" and power key after you see Motorola batwings.
You should now see an "!" in a triangle with Android guy
Press the "Search" key on qwerty keypad to enter factory menu, this will unhide the menu and show the following options
    Reboot system Now
    Apply sdcard:update.zip
    Wipe Data/Factory Reset
    Wipe Cache Partition
Use Vol Up / Vol down to navigate to "wipe data/factory reset" and then use Camera side key or Menu key to select "wipe data/factory reset"
Use Vol Up / Vol down to navigate to  "Yes delete all user data" and then use Camera key to select "Yes - delete all user data"
Wait for operation to complete (maybe 1 minute or so) and then press camera key to select "reboot system now"
If you have any additional issues, please let us know.
Thank you and have a great day!

  • Toshiba satellite p205-s7438 blank screen issue goes blank non responsive as well

Satellite: P205D-S7438 is the computer i have bios version 1.7 and mine runs vista home premium it runs fine then the screen just goes blank backlit and non responsive sometimes on the web other times after going to sleep have tried everything does this only on ac power battery works with no issue when it loses charge plug back in goes blank after so long and then have to power off with power button boots back up on battery at times will not boot from just ac adapter very intermittent issue ran mem test all passed hard drive passed tests as well changed inverter but have the same issue any ideas?

I've got exactly the same problem on my P205D-S7438, running Vista Home. It is happening more frequently. Someone at Toshiba must know about this. What is wrong with my computer?

  • Windows 8 blank screen issue with N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC

    Dear MSI support.
    My current setup:
    Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-I DELUXE
    CPU: i5 3570K
    RAM: 8GB G.Skill Sniper 1866 MHz - CL9
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti Power Edition (OC) (stock BIOS)
After running Windows 8 Professional (64-bit) on my computer with my iGPU (Intel HD 4000) I installed my new GPU (MSI Geforce 660 Ti PE). After my first boot with my new GPU, the BIOS info is displayed on the screen, then the Windows 8 logo and finally the screen goes blank. If I set my bios settings to use iGPU Windows boots normally again.
I've even tried a fresh install of Windows 8 with the same results. When the installation process completes the "Getting devices ready" text is displayed for a couple of minutes before the screen goes black again. I can log on to Windows 8 in Safe-Mode with the 660 but not in normal mode.
I've also tried to install Windows 7 (32-bit) which works fine with the 660. So it's sound's like a Windows 8 compatibility issue to me.
Any suggestions or tips are highly appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

...I suggest you direct all the issues you're having to Apple through the feedback form here:

I for one have rang tech support twice now, had a go and the only response I got back was to go to that link, fill the form in and wait for response.

  • Strange dual screen issue with HP Folio 1040 and docking station

    Hi there,
I have a laptop in a docking station. Two displays are connected using the docking station's DisplayPorts. Instead of showing me two separate displays like I'd have expected, xrandr seems to "see" only one large screen.

eDP1 is the laptop's built-in display, while DP2 seems to represent _both_ displays. When I select 1920x1080, the two displays show the same. When I select 3840x1080, however, the two displays show a side-by-side setup, such that X11 spans over both of them. While I'm happy that I'm now able to make use of the second display, this obviously breaks some software stuff, like fullscreen video in vlc, for example. Any suggestions what I can do about that? Is it possible to software-split the screen such that it looks like a normal dual-head setup again?

  • Palm TX replacement unit has white screen issues even after hard reset

I hope somebody can help me find a solution.
I was a happy Palm OS user since the early days of Palm III.  After a Palm III and a V, had a Sony Clie that lasted a long time, but finally pooped out, went to a Z22 and broke the screen, then almost but not quite a year ago (in warranty, supposedly), purchased a Palm TX.  Worked great for a while but ended up with a unit I couldn't turn on or off because the power switch had died.  Worked around that by keeping the sync cord in and powering on by pushing the button and then canceling.  Finally sent it in for in-warranty repair.  Got back a new-to-me unit.
This worked fine for almost a month, then it started (with no new software or usage patterns) to have blank screen issues.  To solve this I have tried many things.  Soft resets, hard resets, leaving it to fully run out its battery for weeks at a time.  Nothing works; it continues to go blank on me.  In addition, the sound is strange and screechy when it beeps (e.g. accepting time zone after reset).  I bought the TX in the US when I was home for a visit last July, but am living in the Netherlands currently.
I contacted the Palm repair center in the UK that replaced my original unit; they said would pass on word of my troubles to Palm and Palm should contact me, otherwise to e-mail them.  They haven't.  I can't find an e-mail address for to explain all of this to anyone with any power to help me.  I have tried to use the Palm support website to solve this problem, but neither the original serial number or the serial number of the replacement unit I have now is showing up as eligible for warranty repair.  I have tried to call the US Palm support number (http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/47005_en.html#howservice), but I get "calling is temporarily unavailable."  When I click "here" when asked "If you wish to query the warranty status of your handheld, or would prefer to arrange a repair through our Technical Support service, click here" (https://www.euroservice.palm.com/repair_entry/NLD/EE) I end up on a page that says simply "Please Enter the Source Url."  I am hesitant to supply credit card information for an issue that, if it can't be covered under warranty (which I think it should be, since I'm still within the original 12 month warranty period), I may well abandon.
I am very frustrated in trying to get this fixed.  I am disappointed in the dwindling support for a PDA (that is not a phone) with Palm OS.  Since I am living (though not comfortably or well) without my calendar, address book, alarm, reader, dbs, cookbook, checklist, etc., I am seriously considering leaving the Palm OS.  My preference is to get this fixed, and my idea nearly a year ago was to ride the Palm OS until it disappeared completely (subsumed into phones anyway), but my problems have discouraged me to the point that I am wondering if this is my end.
       Does anyone have a suggestion?
    Post relates to: Palm TX
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Thanks for your help!
I don't know how to tell for certain if this is a US or a UK device, but it looks identical to the one I bought in a store in Seattle, and the first five and the last two num/letters of the serial number are identical.  I do know that when I sent it in originally for the power button failure, that the Palm repair center understood that it was a Palm purchased in the States.  Their description of the goods received is "Palm TX , US and ML" so it seems apparent that they knew it was a US device and rather than refusing to repair it, they had me send it to them.  And when my repair was returned, the repair details list "unit exchange" and type of unit is again listed as Palm TX US & ML.
Well, regardless, I appreciate your pointing me in the right directions to someone who can help me.
Ironically, I am no longer having the same issues with the Palm.  The latest round of letting the power run out after a hard reset and sit for a few weeks seems to have "fixed" it.  At least, I have been trying to break it (by using it) without success.  Recharged it, synced it, checked and sent mail with it, used all the programs I used to, and I haven't had a white screen in the past few days.  Hope my luck continues, but I don't trust it.  All hail frequent syncing.
    Thanks again.

  • Intermittent Blank Screen - Multi-Tab Corporate Dashboard

    Hi All,
We are a facing an intermittent blank screen issue with our corporate dashboard. Details are as follows: -
    Environment:
BO XI 3.1 SP2 FP2 (Two servers on production)
    Xcelsius 2008
    Live Office
    QaaWS
    Issue:
Sometimes we only see a blank screen (Not even the initializing screen) when a corporate dashboard is opened from Infoview.
This is a multitab dashboard and is built using Live Office and QaaWS connections.
Initially the issue was occuring only on one server and sometime later it started occuring with the second server as well.
We restrated the services on both the servers and the issue disappeared. (Maybe it was due to cache getting cleared up, though not sure on this)
    What we need:
    1. Are there any known issues for this kind of issue?
    2. What are the possible reasons for intermittent blank screen?
I have searched through the forums and BOB forums and have found about the visibility issue. In our case we do not face any issues with that.
    Regards,
    Abhishekh

    Hi Amit!
Running the trace is fine, but the issue occured only once and that to when we restarted the corresponding servers the issue vanished.
Why I feel that this is not something related to flash is because, first the issue appeared on the first prod box (merantime the second prod box was showing the output correctly). Later on (maybe in 5-10 mins) even the second server started having issues.
So far the issue has appeared only once. However the business would like to understand the possible reasons and would like to avoid similar situations in the future.
We do not have access to either the Firefox or Chrome. Though we have tried with multiple versions of IE. The IE version on which the issue appeared was IE 6/7.
I think, I will close this thread for now. If the issue resurfaces again, we can look into it further.
Hope to hear back from you soon!

  • Transaction launcher gives blank screen

    Hii All
I have configured a TL to launch Tx. - crmd_order(CRM)  but it displays a blank screen.
I have already tried the following (by referring to SDN posts) :-
      1.  Notes 1620007 and 1521043 are already implemented in our system.
      2.  Maintained proper URL in CRMS_IC_CROSS_SYS. It is wokring fine when opened directly in IE.
      3. Activated and tested the relevant ITS services (SICF).
      4. In sicf service, the  SAP implementation area is selected as "Signature Design" ( from the posts i found that if thevalue          is "Netweaver Classic" then the blank screen issue  comes).
      5. Executed the report to publish ITS services : SIAC_PUBLISH_ALL_INTERNAL.
      6. Executed BOR object in swo1. It is wokring fine.
But it still displays the blank screen. Please suggest some solution or the step which I am missing.
    Thanks in advance.
