A2dp fix???

I have Motorola S805 bluetooth headphones and am having the much discussed issue with listening to them in stereo through my Mac. Basically its un-listenable. Anyone know of any software fixes down the pike for a2dp???

I haven't had any issues with A2DP, and for some reason, I'm doubting that it's *Apple* that's out of spec. The suggestion to buy a Samsung or HTC phone is just laughable too. Here's just one example of the many problems that Android has had with Bluetooth: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=24012
I've found that usually it's the car manufacturer insisting that they're right, when in fact they're way off. Ford has had this issue with mySync for a while too. AFAIK from developer friends, Apple has been following the Bluetooth spec pretty closely. https://developer.bluetooth.org/Pages/Bluetooth-Apple-Developers.aspx even.
Sounds like the people at m0bridge are a little too proud of their product. Some Amazon reviews and Porsche forum posts kind of indicate this as well. They're punting. If they claim that they aren't dealing with Apple anymore, get rid of the thing and get a Parrot box instead.

  • HT204368 My A2DP enabled Bluetooth headset does NOT play music. How can I fix this?

I used to listen to music on my Motorola H-17 bluetooth headset. After the headset broke I bought a new one, specifically a Motorola H-17txt bluetooth headset.
It pairs with my phone, and works fine with phonecalls, but when I play music it only plays out of the phone itself, not the headset. When I open up the audio output options in the music app, there is no option for the headset. When I open up audio output options in voicemail, the bluetooth headset option is right there.
I made sure this was an A2DP enabled bluetooth headset before I bought it.
What could the problem be? How might I fix it?

    it could be broken
I would test it with another device which supported a2dp most computers bluetooth (if they have bluetooth most laptops does)
    other phones also
if it works with nothing then it's broken or does not support a2dp correctly
if it works with everything else then it's just strangely incompatible with your iphone

  • N80 A2DP Bluetooth fix

I stumbled across a little piece of software from MSI called BluePlayer.
My N80i was able to connect to my Sony BT-2500 headunit in my car. I was able to answer the call with the headunit, but no audio.
Installed BluePlayer and no problems with bluetooth audio since. I have even managed to stream stereo music from the headunit to the house.

Just read my 1st post and not sure why I wrote "from the house" at the end of the sentence. I know I was falling asleep in front of the computer when I was posting the message...but thats crazy. lol.
Hopefully this software works for some of the other N series mobiles.
Anyway I can stream stereo from the phone via bluetooth to the headunit and the phone calls are working well too now.
I messaged Nokia about the problem and the only reply I got from them was that they were unable to comment as they do not support other products, and then gave me a link to their bluetooth car kit!

  • OPEN LETTER TO NOKIA: Fix Bugs Now or We're Ditchi...

    Dear Nokia
After many years struggling with Windows Mobile's constant bugs that Microsoft are reknowned for, I finally bit the bullet and bought an E71 made by the king of mobile phone manufacturers... or so I thought... Nokia.
I have been utterly astonished and devastated by the number of extremely obvious bugs with this device and am shocked beyond belief that Nokia is allowing itself to tarnish its own previously good brand image by putting out untested phones with software that seems to have been written by a 12 year old boy as his first project.
I have tried posting the issues on these groups, but no solution. 'Wait for a firmware update', or 'hard reset your phone and lose all your hours worth of customisations', seem to be the standard replies. I have emailed your support, who cannot even read and send irrelevant replies. It is no wonder the bugs do not make it past them and get forwarded to you, and therefore no wonder you are not fixing them.
Worse still some of these bugs go back to phones before the Eseries according to my Google searches. You have knowingly carried forward bugs from old phones to new flagship ones. It is utterly unbelievable.
This is an open letter asking you to resolve the following bugs within 30 days via a Firmware update for the E71, or I will be returning my Nokia E71 under the UK Sale of Goods Act 1979 as it is "not fit for the intended purpose" (such as making a simple Bluetooth call or using WiFi), and "not of satisfactory quality". I urge other users to also return their Nokias if they are forced to endure such bugs beyond 30 days of this notice.
Here are the bugs I am experiencing, which I have seen multiple other users report, and I am sure other users will reply to my open letter confirming they will also be abandoning the Nokia brand in favour of something more reliable.
    1) Bluetooth Disconnects - see http://tinyurl.com/3q9hmk
Excerpt: "My headset (Plantronics Voyager 510) disconnects every 10 seconds, then reconnects, then disconnects, then... I can leave them just inches from each other and they'll go through this strange dance.
Furthermore you cannot answer an Internet VoIP call using the headset's answer button, but CAN answer a cell call.
Then I get in my car (JVC KD-BT1) and make a call, and 2 minutes into every call the Bluetooth connection is dropped and the call transfers to the handset. Very dangerous."
    2) WLAN Ghost Access Points and clunky behaviour
The WiFi integration is a mess. There are so many different ways to connect, via WLAN scanner, via Tools, via Internet Phone, and the outcome is that even though you are only within one access point, multiple access points get created. E.g. if I connect to 'WiFi' and define an access point, if I later connect via a different route, I get a ghost access point 'WiFi(01)'. Do this for a week or so at home and you end up with these access points:
    WiFi
    WiFi(01)
    WiFi(02)
    WiFi(03) and so on...
Try to delete one of them, and all 4 disappear. Experiment too much further and try to tidy up, and suddenly anything to do with WLAN access slows the phone down 1000%:
    - Click WLAN Scan and the Home Screen freezes for 3 minutes
    - Try to enter Internet Phone and the status bar freezes
    - Try to connect to Email and it fails to ask for an access point and just gives up
Then you have to work out how to restore WiFi(01)... etc. to how they were before, and only then does the freezing stop.
Hard reset is not a solution - it just happens again before long. I have better things to do with my life than constantly configure my phone settings after each hard reset.
    3) View Interrupted Downloads, if only I could - see http://tinyurl.com/6jeuvt
After a failed download, every time I reboot the phone or close Web, the phone asks 'View interrupted downloads?'. If I click yes, it just takes me to the Bookmarks. There is no 'Downloads' option in Web's Options menu in the E71. It is impossible to make this annoying popup go away. Unless you hard reset and lose all your settings and data.
    4) A2DP is always on - see http://tinyurl.com/5nat3r
Excerpt: "I get in the car and the phone connects to my JVC KD-BT5 stereo. All audio is again routed through the stereo's A2DP source. But if I listen to the radio, I don't hear the phone audio, and again miss out on SMS alerts and more!
This is the only A2DP phone I know that doesn't let you choose whether each Bluetooth headset is also a 'Bluetooth Audio Device'! Even Windows Mobile had a checkbox for that!!"
    5) Diabolical Camera Quality
The camera quality is appalling. The amount of grain must be a bug. Nokia will lose sales on this compared to the Blackberry Bold which has a lower-res yet better quality camera. Also AutoFocus should be Auto (!) not require pressing the 't' key.
When I try to find a repair centre at http://www.apps.nokia.co.uk/clubnokiaservice/ your website is down. Even the link to find a solution is bugged!
I am amazed that some of these bugs relate to older Nokia phones like no. 3 and that a customer has to go to these lengths to try to get Nokia's programmers' attention.
If other users agree, they will reply here and let Nokia know.
    Yours frustratedly,
A new (soon to be ex-) Nokia customer

I have no comments regarding the above issues, but have a few of my own. I know some 'features' with some of the phones are hard to distinguish from 'bugs', so I'll just list a few glitches I feel are obvious bugs. My phone is the Finnish version of E71-1.
The e-mail hardware shortcut button on my E71-1 is giving me the "Feature not available. Reverting to default setting" error if the button is set to open up the Create New E-mail screen when held down for a second or two. All other settings that can be set-up in the Mode Settings work normally. Note that the default action *is* to open up the Create New E-mail screen when the button is held down. Hard reset doesn't help.
In the Gallery if I rotate a picture that I've for example shot in portrait orientation (E71 has a landscape screen), the new orientation doesn't get saved. After exiting the image viewer the image has reverted to it's original orientation. As-is, the feature doesn't make sense to me at the moment. This is quite an old 'feature' dating back to the E61 at least.
Connecting my Motorola HT820 A2DP-compatible stereo headset to my E71 is giving me grief. The audio keeps cutting off even though I keep my cellphone in my shirt pocket. To be exact, for some peculiar reason the phone either pauses the music or goes fast forward if I have my hand between the headset's receiver and the phone. After doing so, occasionally the pitch of the music has hightened, like an LP playing too fast on the turntable. Listening to music while keeping the phone at the opposite side of my body to the bluetooth headset is nearly impossible, because my own body mass is apparently enough to block the signal (I'm 80kg, 185cm). I've had no problems with connecting to other A2DP media players (e.g. Palm TX PDA, Bluetooth 1.2) to my headset.
The video camera's zoom is still jerky (a bug with my ex-E61i) and the jerkiness gets recorded to the video file. Last time I tried recording video I found out that the phone had lost about one minute from the beginning of the recording. I'm getting a feeling that the E71 is underpowered for these kinds of tasks - but is it really?
I have some old programs and themes that I used in my previous phone the E61i in my 2GB memory card. After inserting the memory card to my new E71 and starting the phone up, it tries to install the applications to the new system. The installing fails, but this isn't really the problem. The problem is that the phone suggests installing all the remaining "untrusted" programs manually, and even after successfully doing just that, the phone still attempts to install the new software after every single reset. To "clean up" the memory card of the remnant software and files that cause this behavior I had to search around the net for in-depth knowledge about the Symbian filesystem and folder structure. Asking the help desk about the problem only results to such answers as: "Do a hard reset." "Don't fiddle with the memory card folders." "Format the memory card and your phone."
All I need is the phone to tell which files are causing the problems, or the ability to simply turn off the automatic installer at startup. The worst kind of error messages are the kinds that don't help at all.

  • IPhone 4S and iPhone 5 Running iOS 6.0.1 and A2DP audio streaming on a 2012 Lexus RX350 (Factory Car Stereo)

    Hello Everyone,
Before the release of iOS6 and the iPhone 5, I was able to use the A2DP audio streaming on my car no problems and I was really a happy camper, when upgraded my iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5 (Which came already with iOS6) that funtionality did not work any more, I reconnected my iPhone 4s running iOS 5.1.1 and worked like a charm, then I thought my brand new iPhone has bluetooth problem , that same night (Release data iPhone 5 and iOS 6), I update my iPhone 4S and prepare it to give it to my wife, then It occured to me to go and test the phone back on the car but now Running iOS 6 and "viola", the phone did not stream audio via A2DP. So yesterday Apple Release a minor update for iOS (6.0.1) and after reading the release notes (which it did not say anything Bluetooth enhancements) and updating my iPhone, went and try to test again the phone and did not work. (No A2DP audio streaming), Definatelly there is a problem, I called iOS Tech support and open a Case.  Here are the screenshots for the iphone and car stereo.
    Iphone:
    Car Stereo:
Phone (Voice Feature) works fine with the car.
This happens when trying to Connect the phone manually.
If anyone had this problem in the past and solved, please let us know.
    Thanks
    Rommel J. Jimenez

I had this problem with my iPhone 4 after upgrading to ios 6.0 (10A403).  I called apple support and was given a fix for my problem.  The Apple support rep had me do a reset on my Iphone.  The iPhone then worked with streaming music through bluetooth to my Lexus and also now works with the usb tether.  I did not have to delete the pairing, but that certainly wont hurt.

  • 6110 Navigator Bug List - Nokia Fix These Please!

    Hi,
If there are any people out there who is reading this forum and caring for it's customers we need the following bugs fixed which still exists after the 4.22 update 6 months ago.
We are group of 6110N users who have chosen this phone over your precious brick N95 and we think we still need a decent customer care to have fixed our phones which have already been paid for.
    Thanks.
Bug list reported by our owners:
1- Nokia CK 7W bluetooth carkit has an echo problem where the reomte person hears their own voice and a terrible echo.
2- No matter if used the original Nokia Sound recorder or third party software the all the recordings have a loud crack sound in the beginning.
3-Volume +/- does not function while playing games.
4- Dual line 32kb sim cards fail to switch to the second line and resets the phone when switched to the second line.
5-Line 1 ringtone and Line 2 ringtone options in profiles disappear for no reason although using a dual line.
6-Deleted numbers in Logs->Recent Calls-> missed/received/dialled logs still remain in the log list view which shows coloured arrows.
7-Even if the sent message history is turned off the numbers which were sent messages are still shown in the log list shown with arrows.
8- Numbers dialled/received calls list occasionally clears if phone turned off
9- If the phone gets connected to computer over usb cable, and used once on pc suite mode and then once in the data transfer mode, then the vibration is disabled until you reboot the phone. (Settings suggest the vibration is on, but in fact it is simply turned off)
10- On the internet bookmarks view, (accessed through the web icon) if a bookmark is deleted or moved to a different folder they are still shown in the root until the application is closed and re-opened. And if tried to open them by mistake the phone responds "it doesn' exist".
11- Battery indicator does not refresh and stays on full power until the mobile is turned off and back on again. After the reboot the battery indicator is updated but then stays at that level until the next reboot.
12-It's not possible to use voice dial with voice synthesis turned on.
13- Joystick press can be used for accepting commands at all areas except for messaging. When message is ready to be sent you cannot click joystick and send message. You need to select options and send and then choose select from the menu.
14- If a memo is set or synchronised from outlook the memo still shows on the screen even if the date has been passed.
15- If we try to change the date of a past memo by changing both the start and end date to a future date the phone gives an odd error message that says: "Alarm time already passed" What alarm time? There's no alarm option or alarm time field in memos.
16- The phone occasionally shuts down completely (turns itself off) without any warning for some users.
17- when alarm is set to workdays "sunday to thursday" the date on the phone doesn't change on saturday night. On sundays it still shows saturday although the time is correct, and the alarm doesn't work till the date is reset and then everything goes normal till the next sunday when the problem happens again.
18- While enterinh a new phone number after typing the number a phone type is selected such as telephone, mobile, work mobile etc.If selected the wrong type there is no way to change tis type unless the number is deleted and re-entered which is a hassle.
19- If there are more than one mobile numbers assigned for a contact as "mobile" type (like mentioned above) set default option does not work.
20- The bluetooth A2DP quality has gone worse. It is skip-happy, and degrading of audio quality is very obvious.
21- If any mp3s have embedded images in the id3 tag, which are not quite square (e.g. 194pxls by 197pxls in one of my files), the music will play, but the phone will almost totally lock up if you try to use another application, and the album art won't show at all.
22- Notes in the organiser on the phone cannot be synchronised with the PC via Nokia PC Suite(Outlook 2003).
23- Music Player on the phone finds "zero" audio files when connected to Nokia Suite via USB.
24- If a call is made while connected to a bluetooth carkit (CK 7W in my case) the latest number dialled won't appear in the logs.
25- When navigating in the standard "Nokia Navigator" Route66 application, if the display mode with all info at the bottom (the only mode that display ETA) is set the phone normally remembers this mode between sessions. When signal is lost (typically after a tunnel), the display mode is reset back to default.
26- If an internet connection is established via the browser and closed, the internet connection stays on constantly until the battery is very hot and voltage is drained only if the e-mail update (push e-mail) is set to "ON".
27-The streaming mode is problematic. An H.264 video encoded in 320x240 resolution could be watched full screen in the streaming mode in the previous firmware however the phone will freeze within 1 or 2 seconds after switching from the standard window size to full screen size after 4.22 if watched during streaming.
28- Real Player(Or music player) doesn't update the playlist unless the phone is not restarted.
29- For some of the users some videos start with the first frame and then shows a black screen for a while and then the video plays normally. (DivX Avi files?)
30- System startup dramatically slows up if using a HCSD memory card.
31- Sound cracks occur in high bit rate mp3's if using an HCSD memory card.
32- It would have been nice to rename the last default Profile "Offline" to another name such as "Flight"
33- If a user decides to use an alternative navigation software he/she should be able to remap the dedicated navigator button to the executeable of the 3rd party software.
34- The flash provides such an artificial colour tone to the picture which makes the picture looks almost blue in all cases.
That's it for now. But I'm sure there will be more and we'll keep posting until we receive our firmware fixes as a part of our consumer rights.
    Regards.

if they are unable to update all languages in a normal time gap (it is now 6 months ago they released firmware 4.22 for the first product code (actually mine and maybe a few others)), they should not offer those many versions. the huge bug with out of memory in nokia navigator with firmware 3.58 is not fixed yet for those people. really absolutely not acceptable.
besides that, currently my phone is in a nokia service center, microphone doesnt work anymore (the one who i call just hears a very loud noise). my brother got the same phone, his one is in nokia service center since 2 weeks now, because it doesnt charge anymore as there seems to be a connection broken inside the phone).
well that will be fun if the phone returns (approximately 4 weeks), as I guess the phones will have new IMEIs as they will send 2 new phones and not fix the problem (would cost them more). but as i got a western europe with nordics-map licence locked to the imei, the next problem will be there after I get a nokia 6110navi with another IMEI back. i get really upset with this really slow support.

  • Car kit automatic A2DP connection

I'm not entirely sure if this is a problem on my phone, or with the car kit, but I figured if I post on both ends, someone might know the answer.
With my N95 and N97, as soon as I turn on my car (equipped with Nokia CK-100), I automatically get connected to BT HFP and A2DP profiles.  The car kit will tell me, "Phone connected."  A second later, "Player connected."  With the N8, the car kit will only connect to just the phone automatically.  For the player to connect while the car is on, I have to open up the music player and play a song, which will then force N8 to make the A2DP connection.  So when that happens, you hear a 1.5 second message saying, "Player connected" followed by music that is already 2 to 3 seconds into the song.  I thought it was perhaps the Car Kit getting full with the list of paired devices (memory is for 8 pairings), but clearing the list doesn't help.  I thought it was the Car Kit firmware, so I upgraded it to 4.401, no luck.  Then when I paired my old N97 and N95, both HFP and A2DP connections were made automatically when I boot up my car as expected!  But not the N8.
Problem with the Car Kit, or problem with S^3?

The N8 on PR1 is still not a good excuse for the many bugs that it has.  It's just unimaginable that something that worked solidly with S60v3 and S60v5 and suddenly with the improved Symbian OS a mature and functional feature suddenly has a bug?  I just don't understand how that could've made it into the N8.  Is it the OS?  Or is it the BT chipset?  In either case, quality control got missed.
Thanks, though, for letting me know that I'm not the only one to experience this.  I'll stop trying to fix this as this is a problem outside of my control.

  • Bluetooth A2DP and Speakable Items

I would like to get a bluetooth headset for my phone, but it would be nice if I could use it for speakable items as well. In Tiger, I remember that headsets were not supported by speakable items due to their low sound quality.
Since Leopard now supports the A2DP profile, it is possible to use those headsets with speakable items?
Also, does anyone happen to know if the headset can be paired with my phone and my Mac at the same time?

I had a similar experience with the Motorokr S9-HD and found at least a workaround. It seemed when I connected to non A2DP headset, whether it was used or not, the S9-HD could no longer control the playback. If I shut down the iPhone and the headsets and then restarted the iPhone and the S9-HD but not the other non A2DP headset it would again control the play function.
I had the same problem with the 3G but on the 3G the skip and replay/back functions worked with the S9-HD but these functions do not work on the 3GS.
I have also noticed that the audio stream cuts out and I believe this is caused when my exchange server is doing a push - with push disabled I do not have the problem.
Hope this helps and hopefully Apple will get these issues fixed ASAP.

  • Bluetooth A2DP profile inside C1-01 available?

    Hi,
I just bought my Nokia C1-01 and paired my Motorola BT Headset HT820 for MP3 music. I did this, because some stores which offer this phone mentioned C1-01's available support of A2DP.
After recognizing bad BT-music-quality I took a look at the phone specs. and: there is no support of A2DP (in Europes 4.40 Firmware-version!).
    @all
My question: are there other C1-01-devices with BT-A2DP support out there?
    @ Nokia-Guys:
Will there be a support for Europe-C1-01-phones later on; i.e. is it planned to do an update?
Or are there any hardware-performance issues which pretends a A2DP-support?
Is it possible for me to get a firmware-version with A2DP-support?
    Many questions...
Nevertheless - thanx in advance for your support,
    hwu

Funny you should have had the same problem. I have just upgraded my software to V5.4 and the problem
still remains. Very low audio when connecting to any Bluetooth Audio device. Its now 2 Feb when is the fix coming out. Nokia

  • LG Tone HBS750 A2DP Choppy Audio

    My setup:
    MacBook early 2008
    Mac OS 10.6.8 (can't upgrade)
    LG Tone Pro(HBS750)
    Problem:
Choppy Audio with the A2DP (stereo audio) bluetooth profile on my LG Tone Pro HBS750. It seems to have trouble connecting properly with this profile. It will connect and give good audio for the first thing i click on. like the first youtube video or the first text I select to have read to me. They work ok in stereo. but if I play another video or something else it goes all choppy. I then have to stop using as audio device and then reconnect stereo. every time i want to listen to a new audio source it doesn't want to play properly. when it connects properly it will play several audio sources at once. but if I try to do it consecutively it doesn't want to work. it's all choppy. This is only on the stereo setting. if i use mono it works perfectly. but the sound quality *****. I'm wondering if it's my OS being too old. my headset isn't broken. it plays on mono. it just seems like A2DP implementation in MAC OS 10.6.8 is not compatible with my headset.
    what I've tried:
    pairing the headset
    disconnecting and reconnecting
    Power cycling the headset.
    Reboot my computer.
    delete and pair the headset
    exchanging the headset
    pairing the headset
    connecting the headset
    disconnecting and reconnecting
    power cycling the new headset
    rebooting my computer
    delete and pair again
nothing seems to work. I spent good money on this headset and want it to work. Thanks for your time.

I had the same issue with choppy audio coming out of my bluetooth headset.  I had the issue with Maverick and it seemed like it just got worse with Yosemite.  What I discovered is that the fix for the problem can be as simple as just replacing or recharging the batteries in all the bluetooth devices attached to your Mac.  In my case, the batteries in my Magic Mouse was very low.  I replaced the batteries to fully charged ones and the choppy audio from my bluetooth headset went away.
If you want to see what state the batteries in your bluetooth devices are in, just open up System Preferences and then click on Bluetooth.  Each bluetooth device in the Devices list should have an icon showing the charge left in the batteries.
    Good luck!

Well, I guess I spoke too soon.  It wasn't the fact that I changed the batteries in the Magic Mouse to new ones that fixed the problem.  It was the fact that I had turned off the Magic Mouse when I was replacing the batteries that made the problem go away.  As soon as I turned on the Magic Mouse and had it connected again, the choppy audio returned.  Turned off the mouse and the problem disappeared.  So, it's definitely the Magic Mouse that's the issue, at least in my case.  Fortunately, I also have a Trackpad so I can always turn off the mouse when I want to listen to audio through my bluetooth headset and just work with the Trackpad.  Oh, well.  Sorry for the misinformation.

  • Getting Bluetooth Stereo to Work (A2DP profile)

    IT WORKS!
I was terribly disappointed to learn that Apple didn't include the A2DP Bluetooth stereo profile in the iPhone. Since A2DP Bluetooth stereo is an established and stable standard, I can't think of any reason why Apple would not have included it in the iPhone. Hopefully they will add this as a firmware update, in the near future. In the mean time, I found a work-around.
For more than a year, I have been using the Wi-Gear, iMuffs MA110, Bluetooth dock adaptor on my conventional iPod, with great success. My Motorola HT820 headset worked simultaneously with both my cell phone and the MA110 on my iPod. The iPod would automatically pause, when a phone call came in. It was really great and best of all, NO WIRES!
Well, when I got my iPhone home and activated, one of the first things that I did, was to embark on finding a way to get rid that archaic wired headset that comes with the iPhone. The answer turned out to be rather simple, though somewhat irritating. I plugged my MA110 Bluetooth adaptor into the dock of the iPhone. The iPhone asked if I wanted to go into "Airplane Safe" mode. I responded "No." About 10 seconds later, I heard the beep in my Motorola HT820 headset, indicating that syncing had been successful.
I went to iTunes on the iPhone and picked a tune and it played over my HT820 headset. All of the headset controls worked (Play, Pause, FF, REW, Skip, Next) Then, I used my landline to call my iPhone. The music faded and I was able to use the phone function over the HT820.
The only glitch is that when I pause the music for too long, the iPhone removes power from the dock connector, which turns off the MA110 adaptor. This requires activating the iPhone screen and waiting for the MA110 to re-sync with the HT820 headset, before you can use it again. This only applies to pauses that were NOT instigated by a phone call or when you hang up a call and don't start the music again, right away. When you are on a phone call, the dock power stays active.
The irritating part is that Apple's limitations requires me to have a Bluetooth adaptor, at all. At least, the MA110 is quite small and unobtrusive. It's about the size of a quarter and about as thick as three quarters stacked. It's small enough to fit through the dock opening in most carrying cases. See the image here:
    http://ActionAmerica.org/images/iPhone-iMuffs.jpg
Note: Your Bluetooth headset must be turned on, BEFORE you plug in the iMuffs MA110, if syncing is to be successful. The same applies to re-activating the dock power after long pauses. Also, the first time you sync your headset to the MA110, you will probably have to put the headset into "Discover Me" mode.
I hope that this helps some of you.
It's not a great fix, but it should hold us, until Apple gets their Bluetooth act together.

what i want to know is if a2dp is entirely a software thing and thus we know its simply a matter of firmware update, or is it hardware related at all meaning that it might not even be possible for iPhone1.0 to ever support stereo via bluetooth? is it possible that the muffs bluetooth adapter has special hardware not in the iPhone is the reason it works?
if its just a matter of firmware, i can only assume its just a matter of time until this is fixed...but does seem a pretty glaring omission. I wish Apple would make some comments on things like this... i really like the look of the motorola rockr bluetooth headsets, and dont want to buy some momo single earpiece one now if stereo is coming soon...

  • Sound ID A2DP Problem - Can't Hear Ringtones, Alerts, Sounds in speaker

I just bought a Sound ID 510. Can't review much yet, but it's comfortable as ****.
Anyway, I upgraded the firmware so that I can use the A2DP. Well, it works...sort of. I mean, I can listen to music through it just fine. However, once the AD2P is on, I can't hear ANY sounds from my iPhone 4, except via the headset. I don't wear my constantly, and so that means my phone is effectively silent. Ok, so that's not such a big deal. I'll just turn the A2DP off when I'm done with it....well, that works, EXCEPT when the phone connects to the headset, it automatically goes into A2DP mode and then I have to open the iPod app and turn it off.
Are there not any other A2DP controls on the iPhone 4? This *****. If I can't fix it, I'll downgrade the headset and go without the A2DP, or I'll just return it.

I recommend you check that the phone is not set to silent mode. The silent switch is on the left side of the phone. When set to silent an orange dot is visible. Verify your sound settings in the settings menu. Raise the volume using the up/down volume buttons on the left side of the phone. Then reboot the phone if that doesn't help.
Are you using headphones? Bluetooth adapter?

  • A2DP bluetooth problem

I have a problem with connecting to an A2DP enabled bluetooth headset, my 8520 connects and I can stream audio via bluetooth, my wife's 8520 which has the same software (apart from the branding version - both Virgin phones bought at the same time) cannot - the device is shown as connected but music plays from the phone speaker.
AVRCP works because skipping tracks on the headset works on the 8520.
I've checked the profiles and other than some syntax differences, they are the same.
By deleting and re-creating the profile, I've discovered the problem is that stereo audio is not ticked in green, I've looked but I can't find this as an option.
Am I missing something or is this a phone specific bug?
    Thanks in advance

Hello all - I'm looking for easier solutions for those who aren't familiar with terminal (and/or don't want the hassle)... but here's a temporary fix:

  • A2dp on tiger solved

I just can't stand the crap sound quality of Tiger's bluetooth protocols. My HT820s just sat on the shelf wasted. Not anymore! Here's the fix.

I couldn't get esound to install with darwinports; used fink instead. The reliability is a bit dodgy, and my phone kills the connectivity requiring a restart of a2dp.sh . But my god, the sound quality is orders of magnitude better. The controls on the headphones still don't work. Guess I might end up dropping the cash for Leopard after all.
By the way (in case anyone from Apple read these things), this is my first mac. The a2dp nonsense is one more strike against the dubious "it just works" mantra. If you all are looking to keep the Windows defectors that came over because of bootcamp and Parallels like virtualization, these details matter. So, come on! Let's get a2dp and avrcp for 10.4.9.5!

Geez, I think the ad2p is one tof the best and underated innovations in consumer technology in some time. I have just got a new MacBook, and I cant belive e that the current OS doesnt support this BT stack. Surely a software patch will work. It does for Windows Mobile devices.

  • E65 & A2DP - firmware update?

I bought MD-5W bluetooth _stereo_ speakers to listen
to music streamed via bluetooth by my Nokia E65.
Unfortunately, the E65 does not support A2DP.
Nokia did it for other phones so I'm wondering
if there are any plans to add A2DP support in
the next (and first) firmware update for the E65?
Maybe they fix the occasionally "Insert SIM" crashes
    too ...
    Mono tin sound is painful!
    Florian

    Hello
I agree with all the users here. It seems like the E65 should have a new firmware upgrade, to fix all the new bugs with the wifi connection. In my opinion, Nokia need to add A2DP for a phone like this since many users use A2DP for bluetooth speakers to receive phone calls while driving, and also listening to music. Although this phone is a part of the E series, a bluetooth profile such as the A2DP need to be supported for business users who don't need it for multimedia reasons!
There are many users complaining about this lack of A2DP and WLAN instability. We encourage Nokia to release a new update for our phone and not to leave us behind - else all users will understand the E-series is a fiction and N-series are much more advanced and stable.
Please release a new update with A2DP for us, we are yearning for it so much!
