A2DP on N70,N91,etc

Why has nokia crippled most of N series devices by lack of A2DP profile for stereo audio via Bluetooth ?? Even the N70 music edition & music editions of other phones do not have A2DP.
N70 supporting Bluetooth 2.0 should have had A2DP....Even phones like N91,N73,N92 do not have A2DP.
These phones just need a firmware change to support A2DP..but the big question is
WHEN IS NOKIA PLANNING TO RELEASE A FIRMWARE UPDATE SUPPORTING A2DP FOR THESE PHONES ?? or DOES IT PLAN TO KEEP THEM CRIPPLED FOR LIFE.
When cheap phones like Nokia 6085 can have A2DP..then why can't N series devices ??
Is NOKIA listening ???

sorry, but i think you are wrong, 6233 has A2DP even from the beginning...
i don't think there will be any upgrade at all for those without A2DP, coz it involves BT profiles that needs to be embedded on the chip- firmware and it is also regulated and requires a new round of approval from the BT governing body, so unless that particular handset is approved to have that BT profile, it will not be changed
a very good example is N91... when it got its BT approval it was already approved to have A2DP profile, but the 1st N91 did not have A2DP... A2DP was only included for the N91 8GB coz it is equipped to have it, and no re-approval is required coz it is already approved to have A2DP profile... hence, bottom line it involves, firmware, hardware and approval...

Hi!
Just got my new N70. Great phone, and after some tip following I was happy to see that the phone synchronized ok with iSync.
However, I'm not able to browse and copy files to it from my iBook using BT.
Has anyone managed to do so? One method is to transfer files using BT, but then you're just filling up the phones inbox, and not copying files to ie to memory card.

No such sw for use with a Mac, as far as I'm aware. You could use an USB card reader as a workaround.

N91 freezing even worse after update..

just got my n91, it was reseting on it's own, and i updated version to 2.00.052, and now it's even worse, takes almost 3-4 minutes when sending a txt msg or pulling up gallery etc.. please help

Hey.. It seems like your phone was not properly upgraded. Here follow these steps:
1. Back up all your data.
2. Format your HDD
3. Now update your phone again using the latest updater (V1.1.30)
4. Now before you put back your data install the sms accelerator from http://www.europe.nokia.com/A4158100
5. Now put back all your data.
It should work fine now.
MAYBE U WANNA TRY INSTALLING THE SMS ACCELERATOR FIRST AND SEE IF IT SOLVES YOUR PROBLEM.

N91 vs 5700 WINNER N91 5700 HYPE!

Well some users here are waiting for the release of 5700 which said on Nokia website that it has "Crystal Clear" Audio well what Nokia mean by that is Crystal Clear Audio via Speakers not Headsets! lol. Thats were users here think 5700 can beat N91.
From my sources i can tell you this. the 5700 audio quality is like Music Edition handsets such as N73 ME, N70 ME etc & it is no were near N91 & also the 5700 has 5 Equalizers were as N91 has 8. The more equalizers the better the audio is.
5700 has new hardware technolgy & therefore it had so many problems. this will not be fixed until 2nd or 3rd firmware releases from Nokia after it has been released in the market. however the battery life on 5700 will drain faster than N91.
Conclusion...
Want a Music Phone?
On a Limited Budget --> Get N91 4GB
Not on a Limited Budget --> Get N91 8GB

N91 2.10 SW rolling out now in Updater

Hi
SW 2.10 seems to be now rolling out in NSU (I suspect it will probably take about 2 weeks to get to all countries and operators like 2.00 did).
I bet this resolves the issue with some 3rd party applications not running, sms slow down etc
I loaded it and actually bought the BestTaskman (because so many people talked about it) and it works (its a good app too). I never owned it before so I cant say it fixed it but it works now.
Its a bit of a hassle loading each time but on the positive side we can keep getting new updates and new features some times (like WDRM)

Wow.. Nokia is really rolling.. but i must highlight..
If your phone is doing fine then there is absolutely no need for the updates.. i hope some of the bigger stalwarts would agree.
I am running the 2.00.052 version.. and the phone seems to be in perfect working mode.. no hassles whatsoever with videos or the slow sms.. in one of my previous posts i had mentioned that once i press send the msg leaves the phone within 6 seconds, which is pretty OK if not fast enough..
But knowing myself, i would upgrade it to 2.10.xxx also hahahahhaha.. just a thought...

N91 Folders Problem...

Hi... Recently i formated my N91 Hdd using windows format...
Everything was fine till I discovered something really strange...
I could move everything on the Nokia N91 Hdd.. I started re building my folders...
for example i put all my folders of images i had in my computer in E:\Images directory of the phone... same with videos but in the video section of HDD in n91...
When i finished, i went into my multimedia center in my n91 and i could see each and everyfile but without the folders... The strange thing is that the folders existed but i couldnt see them in n91 multimedia center..
I know that the folders were there cause i checked in Tools\File Management and i saw the directories i had pasted on my HDD with the appropriate files within...
So the files were in a terrible mess in the multimedia center without any folders sorting them...
When i tried to create folders through my multimeda center in nokia n91 i sorted every file to the folder i wanted but still when i connected the phone with mass storage i couldnt see the folders i created within Nokia but the ones i had pasted in the past directly from my computer...
Such a mess... Is there any solution to my problem?

Yes.. u deifnately can make folders in Gallery. (You would atleast have to choose Images, Video.. etc... u cant make it in Gallery root folder)
Select the pictures (for e.g) select options.. and see where it says "Organise" when u come to that option you have another option "new folder"

Nokia Updater does not recognize N91 connected via...

My fone has gone loco on me of late.. freezes about 3ce a day, and after deleting EVERY thing on my phone memory without any improvements, i decided to get an update on the software. problem is, the new updater 1.02.03 or sumn.. does not recognize that my phone is connected, even though the new pc suite does when i try it out.. what could i be doing wrong? (yes, i checked, there is an update for the code my phone carries) thanks for the help (i hope i get..)

Hi,
I faced this problem, make sure you have the latest updater and the PC suite installed. The best would be to remove both from your computer and fresh download and install.
Once you have installed it on the PC, now connect the phone (a PC suite is also installed on ur phone during the PC suite installation on the computer). I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU USE THE CABLE THAT CAME WITH UR PHONE.
Select PC suite from the phone.
Start the updater as it is starting, u will see the prompt "Phone Disconnected from the PC suite" on your computer.
Now it should (ideally) start the process.

NSU Update for N91 not aligned with online softwar...

Hi
When checking online software availability for my product code 0523186 for my N91, itreturn that new Firmware version 2.20.08 or similar is available.
When using NSU it returns no Software available, try again, but I'm running 1.10...
1/ Why this mismatch and when will the new Firmware been released through NSU (mobile purchased from Swisscom and have got the Vodaphone logo).
2/ Are there different variants... for same product code ? If yes how to force update ?

Firmware update for n91

My nokia software updater tells me there are no available updates for the n91(current versio 2.00.052), but i heard about a version 2.10.013. This version has issues with a few 3rd party tools which the later version does not. My product code is 0537293.
I have an n91-5 RM-158 model. Is the firmware update out, and how can i update it?

Strange Problem with messages on the N91

Hello ppl,
very strange problem I have been struck by..
I save my messaged on the HDD..no problem at all.. have always done that.. i only have a bout 100 messages saved (not a lot at all)
Now suddenly.. when i open the inbox, or any folder for the matter, i can see the messages listed.. but when i press the joystick button to open.. nothing happens.. it stays on the same folder screen... i tried clicking on options and then open.. still no luck.. i can see all the messages there...
Hmmm.. so i changed the setting to use phone memory.. now it works fine...
Although i dont mind using the phone memory.. i would really like to know what happened.. anyone faced similar problem..
Well.. the 100 saved messages are very dear to me.. and i cant see them.. well atleast not read the full messsage..
Also.. u know how you change the memory use. its generally asks you if you would like to copy the messages from the current memory to the new memory.. it doesnt do so either...
any feedback would be appreciated...

The strange problem is that in module 4ESW the led of activity they remain fixed, for both of the ports Fa0/1 and Fa0/2. ?_?

5700 bluetooth

hi guys i have a nokia 5700 .. i tried to transfer image in a motorola L6 which has 2.7MB free and the image was 406KB but i can't transfer the image it says "sending failed" plz help me .. i can transfer document file but cant transfer the image file. i can recieve image from that phone. i have a 3230 i didnt face problem in that phone although i didnt try to transfer in the motorola L6. is there any problem transfering from nokia to motorola ? plz help me

bluetooth has version (i.e. v2.0 with A2DP, v2.0 only, v1.2 with A2DP & v1.2 only, etc.) … some of them can no longer detect or simply no longer compatible with bluetooth device requiring higher version (like if your mobile has lower version)… check the compatibility of your bluetooth device with your mobile…
check also other factors, such as distance, presence of other bluetooth devices that can interfere the connection / signal, your mobile & bluetooth device battery, etc...

N73 - annoyed to hell with nokia

well n73 had it 4 less than 24 hours from orange replacment for my totally unreliable 6680 total of 16 handsets in 12 months
nice lookin handset good features but
turn the thing on and it instantly connects to wap (packet data ended using the red key ) (costing me money) not impressed, turn it off on battery out a full reset and it still does it, rang orange tech support 45 mins on hold to be told oh were not sure we will try to resolve the problem and ring you when we have a fix, totally not acceptable, put sim card back in 6680 and that goes bottoms up as well!! now forced to use a brick as a phone the 6680 is under 2 weeks old and is dead the n73 has problems but thank god for the old trusty 702 still alive and kicking
any one got or know of a fix for my N73???? as TBH im rather annopyed with my nokia build quality and software problems dont seem to be sorted, is it me or is the product totally rushed not product tested thoroughly????? since the introduction of the new "smartphones" ive had nothing but problems!!!!!!!!!!

You can thank Orange for this 'feature', many Orange variant Nokia handsets e.g. N70, N80 etc. are blighted by automatically connecting to data services and costing the owner money.

8800 contact search

I've just bought a Nokia 8800 Arte - is there anyway I can search either first name or Last names - rather than One of the other? ( If I store my contacts by last name, then I can obivously search last name )
On my **bleep**py windows mobile phone I can type in first couple of letters and the phone will match any first name OR last name- this really is what I want from this Nokia. Is there any way?

Using podcasts on Nokia 6110 Navigator

Hi, Im interested in listening to podcasts on my 6110 Navigator, I've found the Podcasting software at the blog but it only seems to be able to update directly over the internet, is there any way to set up my PC so that I can update the podcasts on my phone automatically via bluetooth or USB cable?
I think the podcasting software is designed for people with unlimited data plans or phones with wifi built in, but I just thought I'd check.
