A3 landscape layout across centre of A4 booklet

Hi - I'm trying to create a 8-page A4 booklet, with the centre pages as a double spread with rotated text and graphics.
There's a column of text on the top edge of the page, and another across the bottom. Across the centre is a graphic and to read the page you rotate 90deg to read the resultign A3 portrait layout.
Hopes this makes some sort of sense?
Question: Do I need to insert an A3 landscape master page as pages 4-5, and if so how?
Thanks

You will have to set this up as a standard A4 booklet, turning on spreads in the New Document window.  If you're using CS3 or before unfortunately to do the A3 you'll have to work sideways!  In CS4 you can rotate it sideways to work on.  In neither can you have more than one page size in a document.
Another work around is to do that page on an A3 and copy it in when done.

  • Change the width and height of Landscape Layout for a report in 10G

    Hi,
I'm new to reports and when i built the report in report builder 10g, the layout orientation was 'Landscape', hence I assumed that it'll be a landscape layout.
However, the width and height fields of the main section are 11 and 20 respectively. However, the height should ideally be 8.5. When i try to change it I get the following error message :
Layout canvas must remain large enough to fit layout objects.
Could you please tell me how to change the height of this landscape layout to 8.5 from 20.
The report has several main frames within a repeating frame, since the same report has to run multiple times.
Is it possible to have a repeating page across pages (crossing the horizontal margin) and hence have some of the main frames move down to the next page. I'm trying to do this to then be able to reduce the height of the main section of the report to 8.5. Its not working though because I'm getting the following error :
REP 1814 : Report cannot be formatted. Object "vertically" can never fit R_Main (the name of the repeating frame enclosing all objects)
    Thanks,
    Priyanka

To reduce the Hieght, first make the layout design fit into the new value..

  • Best way to implement a standard layout across application

What is the best way to implement a standard layout across the application?  For example, I am converting an HTML/ColdFusion site to Flex and I need to keep the look of the existing site in the new Flex app.  I need a standard layout on every screen in the new app with a standard header, footer and left nav bar.  Do I need to add that code to every screen in the app or can I just create on layout file and call that into every screen?  Thanks!

There a few that will help you, look for Form and validator.
    Sincerely,

  • Portrait & Landscape Layout in fixed layout EPUB

Is it possible to create a fixed layout epub that when viewed in portrait orientation on a device it displays just one page and when the device is flipped to a landscape layout it displays two pages (both pages still portrait layout) side by side?

This is the code you use to tell iPad to display in landscape mode.
    [?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?]
    [display_options]
    [platform name="*"]
    [option name="fixed-layout"]true[/option]
    [option name="orientation-lock"]landscape-only[/option]
    [option name="open-to-spread"]true[/option]
    [/platform]
    [/display_options]
Replace the brackets to carets and you're good to gol  Name the file:
    com.apple.ibooks.display-Options.xml
and it's put in the META-INF folder

  • Share graphic layout across web applications (WAR)

Does somebody know how to share graphic layout across web applications?
e.g. how to dynamically include a layout html across multiple webapps, so, if I make a change to that layout,, the change is automatically reflected in all webapplications already deployed.
    any idea will be appreciated

    Hi,
To have a common layout across multiple web applications you can use cascading style sheets (css). By making use of the same style sheet you can have the same appearance in all the web applications. Changing the styles in the css will be reflected in all the pages that make use of this css. The changes wont be effected though in all the already deployed web applications. They will have to be re deployed for the changes to take effect.
    Hope this helps you

  • DIV Layout - Vertically Centre

Hello, how can i centre my div based layout Vertically and
    Horizontally?
    Tried a lot but vain.
Please See the Code and Help accordingly.

Horizontal is easy. Vertical is not. In your example, a 100%
    width element
won't center anyhow, since there is nothing to center! And a
    fixed height
element is BEGGING for trouble - if the text size is changed
    larger by the
visitor, you will get an overlapping mess.

  • How do I duplicate custom print layouts across multiple pages?

Hi there, brand new to LR. Using a Macbook Air.
I understand that in order to print 3 4x6 images on one 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper I need to create a Custom Package Layout and then manually drag and drop each photo into a cell. That's fine, I've created one page that meets my needs (has crop marks, leaves space between photos, etc.) and dragged and dropped my photos.
The issue comes in because I basically want to print 19 pages of this exact same layout but with different photos. Is there a way to copy and paste (or duplicate or something) the format from the first page of my template? So far it seems like I'll have to manually recreate the template on every page, then go back and add the photos.
    Thanks!

It is probably easiest to create a single page template and save it as a User Template. You will still have to go a page at a time and drag the pictures in one-by-one but you won't have to recreate the template over and over again.
I don't see an elegant solution for you, Sorry.

  • Deploying a book layout across multiple Macs

    Hi there,
I'm trying to set up several Macs so users can take advantage of iPhoto's book feature to create simple portfolios.
I've modified a couple of themes by specifying type faces, -colours and -sizes and would now like to copy these empty layouts to a number of Macs, but there seems to be no straightforward way except for copying the entire library and thereby replacing any library already present on a user's Mac.
    Anyone got any better ideas?
    Cheers Martin

    Martin:
What you fear is the only way to do it. Create a new library with books and the modified themes. Add a few test photos to get it setup. The entire library should be pretty small and can be easily copied to each Mac. If you have the resources, you can purchase iPhoto Library Manager to copy rolls/albums from each of the other libraries to the Book library that you provided while preserving keywords and comments like this.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Need help with landscape layout

Need some help. Tyring to build layout for a financial report. Each report will have 1) data block with company name, stock symbol and price 2) one or two line headline 3) two to three paragraphs of text and 4) large graph...I cant seem to get a nice layout which accents the company information and has enough space around the headline. . I tried putting the information block at top left, the paragraphs directly below and then the headline and graph towards the right side.
Doesn't seem to be working..... Any tips on setup/placement would be appreciated

  • Copy Screen Layouts across users?

    Hello All,
Is it possible to copy the screen layouts designed for one user to be copied to another user? We have made lot changes in the way the Purchase module screen looks through Form Settings for one user and we would like to know if the final layout is copied to other users so that the work is not duplicated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Bharath S

    Hi Bharath,
It is possible. you can use SAP B1 2007A SP01 PL12. The functionality is available in the module administration --> setup --> general --> users setup --> copy form settings. you can open one user setup that you want its layout designed by open it user setup form and then click copy form settings. The window copy form settings to users window appears and you can select the user you would like to have the same layout designed.
you can also user query as follows:
CODE SNIPPET REMOVED AS IT CONTAINS UPDATE/INSERT STATEMENTS-
but the query only apply to copy to one user.  You must do the copy either using user setup window or query after all users log out from B1.

  • CS 6 2-Up Landscape Layout Help Wanted

I want to recreate some Sanskrit books in the traditional "pothi" format.  Before the introduction of paper many centuries ago these would have been written on palm leaves so the page has developed to be long in width and relatively short in width.  So what I did is to set my pages to be landscape mode and 11" width by 4.25" height.  That way I can get 2 pages on one side of US letter size paper and as I have a duplex printer, 4 pages per sheet altogether.  Here is an illustration.  The arrow represents the direction of the text.
       Side 1                                             Side2
    +--------------------------------------------+     +---------------------------------------------+
    |  4                                    V    |     |  3                                   /\     |
    |                                            |     |                                             |
    +--------------------------------------------+     +---------------------------------------------+
    |  1                                         |     |  2                                   /\     |
    |                                       V    |     |                                             |
    +--------------------------------------------+     +---------------------------------------------+
This seems like it should be easy enough to do but owing no doubt to my extreme newbieness in the use of InDesign I have not figured it out.  Can anyone help please?

It is simple, but not necessarily intuitive.
You start with a 1-up 11 x 4.25 document, save that then place the pages twice into a new 11 x 8.5 doc. The simplest way I know to d the last part is to use Scott Zanelli's multipage placer script (InDesignSecrets » Blog Archive » Zanelli Releases MultiPageImporter for Importing both PDF and INDD Files) and run it twice, changing the position, in this case from top on the first run to bottom on the second.
