A4 form with non printing tabes, possibe?

Need to produce layout for generating text blox that can be edited by end user.
But limmit where on a sheet they can ...
Thought I could do that with two tables, but dont seem to get them "unvisible with visible text.
would also like to limmit Font and size, so the ovaral layout would be constant.
All toughts and comments most welcome.

Hi,
In addition to Steve's points, you should have a look at the warnings tab:
The way you have set the "visible (screen only)" in the Master Page seems to be throwing an error.
I would go back to a simplier Master Page and have the tables themselves set to "visible (screen only)" and "visible (print only)".
Once you have dragged in the textFields into the table, keep the field format set to "plain text only", this will prevent the user from changing the font at runtime.
Good luck,
Niall

  • PDF form with line printer

    Hi,
Is there a way to use PDF form with line printer? how, and the pros & cons. Currently we are using SPF to develop pdf form in sap, however it has limitation to print on line printer that we need to print on 3 ply form. The only option is to convert all PDF form to sap script.
If you have any ideas, please advise. Thanks.

  • How to print multiple pages of same form with one print command

    Hi,
I have created a cheque print form in smartform. There is provision to print multiple cheques. I give multiple cheque numbers from my selection screen and for each cheque the smart form is called in loop.  Currently I get preview of 1st cheque then I print 1st cheque then click on back, cancel or exit button and then I get preview of second cheque ans so on...
Now I want to print all the cheques with one print command.
    Please advice.
    Regards,

Instead of looping at the smartform multiple times, pass an internal table with the data content to the smartform and use loop/ Table youroption  in ur smartform in the main window.in this way u can achieve printing multiple cheques at once and avoid previewing the document several times.

  • Tabular form with non base table field

I want to develop a tabular form with
    1. A non-base table edit field to accept a value
    2. Insert/update another table based on the input value
    3. Also, computed field on each row based on other fields on the records (like post-query trigger in oracle forms at block level - for each row)
    Thanks,
    Rachna

    Thanks for your reply.
Varad, I like the link you sent me. It has a lot of good information.
I created a process (under page processing) called "Update/Insert Process" that dosn't seem to be working.
Question, I created a manual tabular form with SQL Query and created a process (under page processing) called "Update/Insert Process", then I check for each record in the tabular form. If the old value <> new value then I update/insert in the new table.
Any step by step will be highly apprciated - to create process/validation etc.
    Thanks,

  • How to create editable form with non-updatable vo

    Hi,
i need to create a new form on non-updatable VO.
My requirement is: i have Data base View, based on that view i have created VO, based on this VO i need to create new form, when ever i submit a request, web service will invoke and that validate the data and sends to the data base.
when ever i drag drop the vo i couldn't able to enter any data bcoz all the data are coming in the form of output boxes.
can any one help how can i create this.

Check the setting of your viewobject attributes settings, most probably they are 'updatable never', set them to "updatable always".
This way you can drag the view as an editable form.
About sendind data to the database, i guess you have an idea how to do it afterwards :)

  • I have a Dell Inspiron 530S computer and a Dell Photo 926 printer. Using Firefox with the printer, how do I scan a blank form into the computer and fill it out there and then print out the completed form with the printer?

Basically, the problem arose when I got a package from the Veterans Administration requiring me to fill out some complicated forms. Using my equipment and Firfox, I have been unable to do it.
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
== I applied for Agent Orange evaluation

That's not really a Firefox support issue.
Check with Dell support and ask if the scanner software is capable of saving the form as an actual form, instead of as an image as most scanners do.

  • Issues submitting form with Reader X

I am using Adobe Reader X on a Mac and the program will not allow me to submit the form. When I click on the submit button, a message pops up that says this operation is not permitted. If I open the form in an older version of Reader, it works correctly. Why won't X work? Is there a way to fix it?

    Some questions:
    1. Is it a secured form with some printing restrictions? You can check this from the document properties under the Security tab.
    2. Is it happening with all the forms or some particular ones?
    3. Some specific detaills like printer/ OS etc might be helpful.

  • Forms 9i and printing.

    Good day.
Just a quick question. We have an application using Oracle9i Forms and Reports. All clients access the application through a browser (obviously). How does one go about printing information in the application. (Without printing a screen dump).
If we use the old 6i Runtime method, we get the following error:
FRM-41842: Run_Product(REPORTS) is no longer supported, use Run_Report_Object instead.
Please help. I have one day (today) to get the printing working.
    Thank you kindly.
    William

    William,
I think the error message is clear, you have to use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT() and the Reports Server. The printers need to be network printers and accessible for the Reports Server. You submit a Reports in Forms with destype printer and desname the network printer name. Haven't checked if the Reports Server needs to run under the an account that has networ access privileges, but i think so.
For how to use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT check

  • Performance Problem with Adobe Print Forms (Non-Interactive)

    Hi Team,
I have a <b>Web Dynpro ABAP</b> application with a print button which actually launces an Adibe print form (NOT Interactive) for the WDA data context. The scenario is for a Purchase Order in the ERP system. The problem is regarding performance when the line items are more then 150. The Adobe form is very simple WITH NO scripting and a plain tabular display of the line items. It takes around 4 minutes to load the form which has only 5 pages and is causing the WDA application to time out. Following are the configuration/Design details:
    ADS Version: 705.20060620101936.310918
    Adobe Reader 7.0, Version 7.0.9
Adobe Live Cycle Designer 7.1, Version 7.1.3284.1.338866
    <b>FORM Element in WDA</b>:
displayType = activeX (Should this be native for performance improvements?)
    "enabled" is not checked
    readOnly = 'X'
<b>SFP Settings for the template Form</b>
Layout Type in Properties = Standard Layout (Should this be xACF or ZCI for performance improvements?
Interface type for the Form Interface = XML Schema-Based Interface
    <b>We are on 2004s release SP10</b>
    <b>Specific Questions:</b>
    1) Any recommendations for the above settings to improve performance?
    2) The form design is very simple with no complexity. The Table element is very basic and as per the blogs given in SDN. NO Scripting is performed.
Any help, recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi Sanjay,
i would suggest you to have ZCI layout (native).
Set the form properties to be cached on server (refer performance improvements in the Adobe LC Designer help).
The performance will also depend on the ADS and also the network, including the R/3, as all these components come into picture.
Hope these points, if you have not checked already, will help you.

  • Making a form with a non printing background

I need to make a form for an overprint on a 4-up postcard sheet. The postcard is preprinted, but I want to show it in the PDF form so that the user knows where the data is going to be when they print out the form. So basically I need everything but the form data to be non printing. I tried looking for something like this in the Help but I don't know what keywords to use to look for this. Is it possible?
    I have Acrobat Pro 8.

You could use the background option to import the comp and then fade
back using the opacity level - this would then provide a background
which (if configured) would show inside the PDF but not print ..

  • Restrict printing of a form with digital signatures

I hope this isn't a duplicate question...  Please forgive me if it is; I did search the forums first.
I have a form that requires a digital signature from several people as it gets emailed from one person to the next.  Unfortunately, some of the people can't grasp the concept of digitally signing the form, therefore they print the form, sign it with a pen, scan it, and email it. (Very frustrating...)
Is there a way to prevent them from printing the form while still allowing me to print it once I receive it. I'm the last person in the signing chain and need the ability to print a hard copy listing all the digital signatures.
Thank  you so much for the advice! I really appreciate it!
    Heath

    Hi Heath,
Yes it can be done, and it's not that hard to do, but I am going to get a bit techno-geeky here. In the Acrobat world you can sign an encrypted form, but you cannot encrypt (or change the encryption of) a signed form. You can solve the problem by encrypting the form (most likely you'd use password security because it's the simplest).
First a word about PDF file encryption. Using file encryption gives you two things, control over who can open the file and the ability to restrict what they can do with the file once they get it opened (such as print). You are going to want to encrypt the form before anyone signs allowing all but printing to occur. Then when the users open the form they can fill out form fields and sign the file (at it's heart digitally signing a PDF file is just a special type of form fill-in), but they will not be able to print the file.
Here's is where things get a bit geeky. The key is when you encrypt the file (assuming you are using Password Security) you need to apply both a Document Open Password and a Permissions Password. Would it be simpler if there was no Document Open Password, yes it would, but then you wouldn't be able to print the form either. By using a Document Open Password when anyone (including yourself at the end of the signing work-flow) tries to open the file they will see this dialog:
You will supply all of the end-users that you want to sign the file the Document Open Password. Once the file is opened the Print functionality will be disabled so all they will be able to do is fill it out and send it back via e-mail (or a Submit button is you added one to the file). Eventually the file will get back to you, but when you open the file (and get the dialog above) you'll type in the Permissions Password. That tells Acrobat that you are the "document owner" and it raises the permission set to "allow all", and thus you will be able to print out the file. As long as you only share the Document Open Password and keep the Permissions Password to yourself no one else will be able to print but you.
Could this work with Certificate Security or Rights Management Security, yes it could, The steps would be different, but the outcome the same. Since I'm guessing that you'll use Password Security here's what you'll want to do:
    Open the unsigned file
Select the File > Properties menu item
Select the Security tab on the Document Properties dialog
Select Password Security from the Security Method drop-down list
Select the Compatibility and Encryption options at the bottom of the dialog (I suggesting that you do this first because if you change them you may need to reenter the passwords again)
Select the Require a password to open the document checkbox
    Enter the Document Open Password
Select the Restrict editing and printing of the document checkbox
In Printing Allowed drop-down leave it set to None
In Changes Allowed drop-down select Filling in form fields and sign existing signature fields
Select the Copy checkbox at your discretion
Enter the Change Permissions Password (it must be different then the Document Open Password)
    Click the OK button
    Confirm both Passwords
Click the OK button on the Document Properties dialog
Save the file to apply security
Now, when you reopen the file, if you use the Document Open Password printing will be disabled, but if you use the Permissions Password printing will be enabled.
You can also simplify this if you use the Tools > Protection panel, but I don't want to dump too much on you at once.
    Good luck,
    Steve

  • What are the security settings to lock down a form with fillable fields and yet allow someone with Reader to fill in the fields as will as save the form and print it?

What are the security settings to lock down a form with fillable fields and yet allow someone with Reader to fill in the fields as will as save the form and print it?

You want to allow someone to open your document and fill out the form (in the fields you have created), but not change or edit the form, right? Here's the answer - assuming you are using Acrobat Pro and someone will be opening the PDF using at least Acrobat Reader 9 and up:
Tools > Protection > Encrypt < Encrypt with Password
Answer YES to change the security.
    A new window opens:
Do NOT select Document Open (or that will require a password to open the document.)
Select: Permissions (Check the box next to "Restrict editing and printing of the document.")
Change the following 2 settings from the drop-down box:
              Printing Allowed: Select High Resolution
Changes Allowed: Select Commenting, filling in form fields, and signing signature fields
Leave selected: "Enable text access for screen reader devices for the visually impaired"
Change Permissions Password (insert a strong password)
Leave all other settings alone in "Options"
              OK - OK
Re-enter the Permissions Password (the one you entered above)
              OK - OK
Save the PDF to apply the security [notice that (SECURED0 will appear after the document title]

  • Rearrange pages when printing adobe form with multiple master pages

    Hello!
    Good day to you all.
I have an issue in regards with printing my adobe form with multiple Master pages. I have 4 master pages:
    1st master page: a
    2nd master page: b
    3rd master page: c
    4th master page: d
all with different headers and footers all having the same contents (items). I don't have issue with one page content (it just prints 4 pages with different headers and footers). The issue comes out once the items exceed 1 page.
What happens is that the preview/print shows (example: 3-page item)
    a1-a2-a3-b1-b2-b3-c1-c2-c3-d1-d2-d3.
What i need is to print these such that all 1st pages of the 4 master page to be printed first, then all the 2nd pages, then all 3rd pages. Please see below:
    a1-b1-c1-d1-a2-b2-c2-d2-a3-b3-c3-d3
This is because we will be using carbonless copy paper during printing and it's possible that it would be printed on batch jobs. Please suggest ways to do this.
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Best Regards,
    abap_peer_dangs

    Hi,
Is that requirement of multiple pages as groups only at the time of print or at print preview also...?
Can you have a Print button on this screen or you should be using the Abobe toolbar's Print button..?
Well if this on a click of a button in the form and the requirement is only at the time of print and not on print prieview I can have a JS script which does this...
Let me know if this suffice, I can try with a local file and send you the script.
@ Chris: I didn't understand what do you mean by reported, I was eager to hear and learn a solution from you may be a new approach which I am not aware of ...?
