  • A7 paper support printing

How do I print greeting cards that are A7 (unfolded 10" x 6.5") on my HP Officejet 7610. My operating system is OS X 10.10.1.
I cannot see where this paper size is listed. I have made a custom paper size but when I try printing the print software shows that the paper size is Defined By Driver. How do I change this?
    Thanks.

10" x 6.5" is not in the supported list.

Having problems printing on thick paper. How do I adjust the settings

    Hi @Lil2 ,
I see that you are experiencing issues printing on thick paper and would like to know how to set the printer drivers.
I would be happy to help you.
The paper supported to use with this printer is: 60 to 176 g/m² (plain paper); up to 220 g/m² (glossy paper).
This information was provided by the Data Sheet for the HP LASERJET PRO CP1020 COLOUR PRINTER SERIES.
What paper type and weight are you using?
What is the issue that you are having? (paper feed issue, smeared printing)
I have provided a screen shot, (different model) for where the drop down would be to check for the different printer options. Select the Finishing menu or yours might show Media and Quality, to select the Media-type from the list.
You can also save this setting as a Preset.
Select the print settings that you want to save for reuse.
In the Presets menu, click the Save As... option, and type a name for the preset.
    Click the OK button.
    Use printing presets:
On the File menu, click the Print option.
    Select the driver.
In the Presets menu, select the printing preset.
Here is also a document for Resolving Print Quality Issues.

  • Dynamic Flash Paper?

Does Flash Paper support dynamically generating a flash paper

  • Pixma 330 fax output error check paper size

I received a fax on my Pixma 330. The document came through fine, but now I have "fax output error, check paper size and press OK". The paper size is correct, and when I press OK, it prints out the original document again, then gives me the same error message. If I turn off the machine, when I turn it back on, it again prints the document, then gives me the error message. The machine will not let me do anything except press OK. How can I get this to go away? Thanks.

    Hi JWK,
Please make sure that the paper is loaded correctly and the settings are correct.  To do this, please follow these steps:
    1. Flatten the four corners of the paper before loading it.
    Note
Align the edges of paper neatly before loading. Loading paper without aligning the edges may cause paper jams.
If paper is curled, hold the opposing curled corners and gently bend them in the opposite direction until the paper becomes completely flat. See Paper is curled..
To avoid curling, handle paper as follows.
    - When you do not print, remove unused paper from the Rear Tray, put them back into the package, and keep it on a level surface.
    - Take out only the necessary number of sheets from the package, just before printing.
    2. Load the paper.
    (1) Open the Paper Support, raise it, then tip it back.
    (2) Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and open the Output Tray Extension.
    (3) Slide the Paper Guides (A) to open them, and load the paper in the center of the Rear Tray WITH THE PRINT SIDE FACING YOU
    Important
Always load paper in the portrait orientation (B). Loading paper in the landscape orientation (C) can cause paper jams.
    (4) Slide the Paper Guides (A) to align them with both sides of the paper stack.
Do not slide the Paper Guides too hard. The paper may not be fed properly.
    Note:
Do not load sheets of paper higher than the Load Limit Mark(D).
    After loading paper
When using the machine to copy or print without a computer, select the size and type of the loaded paper in Page size and Media type of the settings screen in each mode.

Update 6/18: I have directed this thread to a manager of Palm's technical team, he advised me that many of these suggestions were forwarded to the development team and most are being worked on/considered. He also confirmed that an update is coming over the next couple weeks that will fix a few issues including the SSL issue with EAS... and there is another update that will fix the MSFP issues (security policies) with EAS email (in around 60 days) It's good to hear that Palm is very responisive to our needs and suggestions.
Update 7/11: Since this thread has received so much attention and ideas I have not been able to post all the different suggestions on this front page. I have put this forum thread in front of several sprint/Palm employees that do have a say in future updates... so please keep posting suggstions! Please also use the link below. Thanks!

  • Crystal 8 Web Component Server ond Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6

I am trying to get Crystal 8 Web Component and Page Server to run on Windows 2003 Server with IIS 6. I have done the following:
Added the .cri and .rpt ISAPI extension mappings
    Have Cache ISAPI extentions selected
    Deselected "verify that file exists"
Aded the .cri and .rpt MIME types
    Added wcsinsapi.dll as a IIS 6.0 extension
The above resolved all HTTP 40x.x errors but when trying to access a report from IE I receive the following error:
Error: Could not connect to the Web Component Server.
The page server and web component server services are running and I do see the listen ports (6401, 6403) active.
I know this is old software but it works quite well under a Windows 2000 Server and other web postings indicate that it is possible to run Crystal 8 under WS2003 and IIS 6.
Does any one know of a white paper/support document that details how to run Crystal 8 under Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6?
Has any one done this successfully?
Any tips as to cause of the "Could Not Connect" problem would be greatly appreciated.

Well as it turns out it looks like it was just this server.
We tried everything, and I added those user accounts to full
permission for the Coldfusion folders and we just could not get it
to work. We tried it on another couple servers running 2003, and it
installed perfectly right out of the box with no other permissions
needed. And those servers were all running default configs with no
    other permissions done.
We still have no idea what was the problem, but at least for
now it seems to be this server. But I will tell you what, that II6
stuff seems to be a bit of a pain, we had major problems installing
new version of PHP with it too. Oh well, good luck to you
    too!

  • Where can I specify search specification for a BIP report?

    Hi,
We are on 8.0.0.9 and integrated BIP with it. We converted Actuate reports to BIP reports. In actuate, we can specify what data to bring in to the report by using a search specification. In a BIP report, where can I specify the search specification? Is it in the integration object or in the application? We have a lot of reports that fetch data based on the child BCs using EXISTS query. How do we do the same thing in BIP?
    Any help is greatly appreciated,
    Thanks.

If you want the flexibility of passing different data into the report you keep it the way you have it now and train users, e.g., run a PDQ first.
For the scenario you just described where the report parameters seem to be consistent and you want to avoid user selection I would either build the report using the reports business service or build it directly in BI Publisher. I almost consistently use the reports business service now but if you asked me a year ago I would not have given the same answer. I suspect the reason I have changed is related to recently working with BIP dedicated to Siebel whereas in past projects I may have had a mix of Siebel/OBI/other data sources.
The reports business service is quite simple to implement in workflow and the search specification you pass in is as a method argument, Bookmark.
    I suggest you read:
Siebel BI Publisher 8 Reports Business Service [ID 823360.1]
There is also a document called Siebel BI Publisher Integration Concepts which while not entirely valid since it was written before Siebel built their own button is a useful reference to understand where things happen. (Note, Siebel patch 8.1.1.5 moves things on again and I am not impressed with the white paper supporting that).
There are also a decent references in blogs out on the internet regarding this, including ones from regular contributers to this forum (mroshaw for example) and one I referenced a lot myself wrote by a Dutch guy but I don't have the address to hand.

  • Calendar// my day

    Hi There,
I used to have a Nokia E51 and the one thing that I loved about that phone that really kept me organized was that on the home screen// (the desktop) would list all of the events in my calendar for that day. By having this kinda thing displayed on the desktop of the phone, in a way that i wouldn't have to open an application, would be extremely useful. that way I would know my entire day, or at least the next 4-5 events, in the matter of seconds.
I'd really like to see this on the next update..

  • Anyone using a canon pixma pro 9000 MKII with their imac?

I'm curious as to your opinion/satisfaction with this combo.

    Adam,
Sorry for the delay. Been trying to get a copy of 6.x to check but it seems to have been borrowed and not returned. So I'm not sure about the ppd being in the correct place. With v7.x, the PPD Manager looks in /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj as a default and also has the auxillary option so that you can browse to a different folder.
However, talking to some of my colleagues it seems that the ppd contains no colour management information as the printer is not a postscript device. It is purely for paper support and the print dialog extensions. So the addition of the ppd into Quark doesn't improve the print quality, it simply makes some installations of Quark happier with the ppd field filled.
Note that with v7.1, even after copying the ppd into the correct folder, after selecting the Pro9000 as the printer, you cannot change the PPD menu - it is disabled.

  • Nokia Belle - EAP-PEAP authentication without Cert...

Its time for my half yearly bickering about the still non-support for EAP-PEAP authentication without server Certificates on Symbian Phone.
Here is my last thread begging for help from Nokia when Anna was released.
    /t5/Software-Updates/EAP-PEAP-Authentication-without-Certificate-Is-it-fixed-in/td-p/1072133
My question remain the same.Does the new Nokia Belle support EAP-PEAP authentication without the requirement that a server certificate be present.
I have been living a life of ridicule and becomes an object of jokes and punchlines in office when it comes to the Phone that I carry. Lot of people now don't even know that there is company called Nokia. And when I tell them about it that say "Are you the guy carrying the phone that does not connect to our corporate network?".
If you read that earlier thread you know that none of the exotic workaround that some have been able to do, does not work with my office as our network administration has not installed any server certificate whatsoever on the access point.
I am fed of hearing from Nokia techs that this is supposed to be the secure and right way of doing things. When every other device, every smartphone, tablet, laptop supports this way of connecting to a EAP-PEAP access point why does Nokia has to keep this stance?
Nokia has kept everything open on the Nokia N8, it has everything that a anyone can ask for in a smartphone, so why is Nokia so adamant on this small matter of not requiring a server certificate?
Now that the WP7 line of Lumia devices are in the market can someone tell me if the problem exists on those phones too. I wont be surprised if this restriction is still there.
With Nokia going downhill so fast it does not help with this kind of attitude towards diehard Nokia followers.
Can someone from Nokia tech say once and for all if I can ever expect this thing to be fixed?

What should be an appropriate title for this thread. There was an older thread for the same that i started six months back when Anna was released. So i this expecting something to happen with Belle.
If nothing happens I will probably start a new one when future updates to Symbian in Clara. Donna, Emma, Florina, Georgia, Hanna, Isabelle, Jenna, Kate, Linda, Marie, Nancy, Olivia, Patty, Quinn, Rita, Sabina, Terry, Uma, Vega, Wyome, Xandra, Yetta and Zoe are released.
I hope Symbian (Nokia) lasts that long, but the support of this comes in Belle.
I see no jokes yet...common guys.isn't anyone subjected to jokes because of this.
At least give me some so i can feed more to the one going around.
Well, I believe the example of EAP-TTLS + PAP authentication isn't 'without certificates'... it does use certificates, but EAP-TTLS + PAP just doesn't happen to be a supported authentication method with recent Symbian phones.
I'm not any sort of wireless authentication guru, but there's probably a better, more precise description of the authentication support (probably a few methods) that's currently missing in Symbian.
And a couple more details for some wireless authentication methods... I believe Windows users typically have to grab a third-party 'securew2' utility to support some of the more robust (read better, more secure) authentication methods for some networks.
I think one of the more valid arguments for EAP-TTLS + PAP in general, is that I believe it may be part of the 'Eduroam' standard, although MSCHAPv2 may also be substituted for PAP, IIRC... but again, I'm not a wireless authentication guru.
In any case, if well-known, widely-implemented (or soon to be implemented, for good reason) authentication methods aren't supported in Symbian, it just makes Symbian just looks a bit ridiculous and irrelevant.
Your previous thread was quite good, and it may make sense to keep bumping that thread for updates periodically. I noticed that someone mentioned an MSCHAPv2 scenario in that thread, but again... that's not actually helpful for resolving EAP-TTLS + PAP support, and I think that there's probably a concise way to describe the current 'missing authentication methods support' in Symbian.
It continues to baffle me how Nokia seems to have such a quiet, secretive presence on these forums, when I think it would make much more sense to publicly acknowledge relevant threads/discussions, and make a statement about planned fixes, updates, etc... rather than just have people wonder if/when Nokia is paying any attention to the discussions here.
