A55M-P33 - Win 7 Pro x64 - 8.00GB (3.49 GB usable)

Hello!
After a few hours of google searching i've decided to ask for help.
Search of this forum did yeald one post similar to mine: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=161010.msg1180013
But there was no solution.
Problem is very weird.
Win 7 Pro x64 with 8 GB of RAM but only 3,49 usable.
Memtest and Ubuntu see's only 3,49 GB, so it's not an OS issue.
But BIOS detects all 8GB, so it's not a defected module. At least it shouldn't be, it a new rig with no other problems.
I guess that integrated graphic reserves that memory, but any options regarding this don't have any effect on 3.49 GB usable.
Although graphic driver in windows says graphic memory is 2GB (see the first pic)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are only two memory slots. Both filled by 4GB Patriot modules.
I should not open case because is under warranty so i guess i'll contact the store who sold me the computer.
Wanted to know if that is some kind of feature before i return it to a store.
Could not believe and thought that Svet was joking when he recomended to check for bent pins (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=161010.msg1180051#msg1180051)
For all the years that i worked with computers i never saw a CPU with bent pins or any other kind of damage to boot the OS and work "just fine".
The only problem that this computer has is it doesn't utilize all the memory.

  • Win 7 Install Issues with A55M-P33

    Hi,
I have an A55m-P33 Mobo with an AMD A4 APU that a bought cheaply brand new with no OS.
I am trying to install my copy of Windows 7 Pro (I have x86 & x64) and all is well up until you select the HDD at which point it asks for a driver.
I have gone to the AMD website and downloaded the relevent driver (AMD SATA Controller), and setup recognises this as the correct driver but then says no devices were found!
Please, any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

You don't need a driver for installing win7 on HDD. Are you trying to setup a RAID array?

    Hi,
"There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again"
I've got the error (80071A91) that others have experiences while trying windows update and for the life of me I cannot get the updates to install.
Looking for the past 4 hours via Google, trying different recommended things and still no luck
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_update/unable-to-install-updates-getting-error-code/27a21977-f964-4376-bfab-2f29ea127c6a
    # SFC /scannow causes the "repair status message" and asks for reboot.
I've downloaded fix-it, tried booting into a system repair/restore disk using command line to run
    #sfc /scannow /offline....
using the dispart to LIST VOLUMES  (based on this http://mikemstech.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/how-to-perform-offline-system-integrity.html )
I've tried #fsutils resourse set autorevert=true (or something, can't find the exact post as I've rebooted so many times)
I've tried dismc.exe (or similar without success)
Basically I'm stuck with these updates (~10 of them) always sitting there downloading, installing every time I shut down the PC.
Running a system repair disk created in windows still does not allow #sfc /scannow....
My Last system restore was 04/08/14 and I cannot even restore the system to this point as the restore fails and asks to remove itself once I restart the system.
    Details:
OEM version of windows purchased legally and genuine microsoft logo in system dashboard.
    Intel Core I5 -3330
    16GB RAM
    Windows 7 Pro - 64bit OS
    Service pack 1
**NOTE** I have the C drive hooked up in RAID 0. Two(2) * 60GB SSD disks in RAID 0 used as C: via BIOS RAID
    Secondary storage disk a D:
Been working and updating fine for the past 5-6 months.
I have the Optical drive setup as O: and a Daemon tools virtual drive as drive E:
While running DISKPART and using LIST VOLUME I see this:
currently the system seems to have lost all update history
Any information or help on this is appreciated. I don't want to reformat and reinstall, I don't really want to 'repair' and wipe my current software installation so I'm hoping there is a way.
Anyway I can get the 'pending state' removed.?
    Thanks in advance
    David

Hi, I've rebooted into Repair mode (Console), (because repair said windows is installed on E:) run dism.exe /image:E:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
This gave a message about small scratch space but did say something out a fix. Upon reboot into safemode with console I received the same message
    "C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.
There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete.  Restart Windows and run sfc again."
I then rebooted and tried SCF again, no luck... Same message, same updates still sitting there.

  • Using 4TB WD drives on M58p in Win/7 Pro x64

After taking advantage of Cyber Monday deals in December, 2013 for Western Digital WD4001FAEX 4 TByte drives, I suddenly was faced with the "32-bit MBR" issue on systems with normal BIOS (not UEFI) like my 7630 and 7483 M58p Small Form Factor PC's.  My goal was to have a slightly less than 2 TByte C: drive with a D: drive partition around the same size starting BELOW "the 2 TByte line."  I read in the forums that this configuration was possible but NONE of these gave a HOW-To process.   I've successfully done this three times on a 7630-B81 and pair of 7483's (an AF2 and a W59) systems, all running licensed Win/7 Pro x64 operating systems.   I started out using the Recovery partition from the 7630-B81 cloned to each Western Digital drive with Acronis True Image Free WD Edition.  This created two partitions on each drive after performing a System Restore and applying genuine unique Microsoft Windows/7 Pro x64 product keys on each drive in each system.  There was a 9.77 GByte Recovery partition, and just under a 2 TByte C: drive.  The rest of the drive was "unallocated".   I applied all appropriate drivers for any new I/O and 170 or so Windows Updates including .NET Framework 4.51 code.  I downloaded XVI32 (free) for a hex editor and the free MBR Wizard Command Line version 2.0b to pull and restore the Master Boot Record (512 bytes).  I also installed the free version of EASUS Partition Master but this was only used to evaluate the number of available sectors in the "new" partition.
I started the Win/7 Pro DISKMGMT command and decided to shrink the C: drive by 256 MBytes to expose a section of the 4 TByte drive that was below the "2 TByte line."   I created a new volume in that 256 MByte partition using DISKMGMT in order to establish a valid entry in the MBR's Partition Table.   I then used the MBRWiz command with the /save= parameter and provided a filename after the equal sign in order to save the current MBR contents, call it C:\Original.bin file.   Here is the contents of the 4 Partition tables in that file:
    01BE     80 20 21 00 27 FE FF FF 00 08 00 00 00 80 38 01
    01CE     00 FE FF FF 07 FE FF FF 00 88 38 01 00 78 BF FE
    01DE     00 FE FF FF 06 FE FF FF 00 00 F8 FF 00 F8 07 00
    01EE     00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
The 446 bytes before the address 1BE comprise the Boot program in the MBR.  The last two bytes are 55 AA after the 4th partition table entry (all zeros on this example.).
I took the last 4 bytes of the 3rd partition (Length Field) and modified them to "extend" the 256 MByte partition to nearly the end of the drive, editting with XVI32.   Here's the new 3rd Partition Table entry:
    01DE    00 FE FF FF  06 FE FF FF 00 00 F8 FF 00 A0 C8 D1
(When the partition is formatted for NTFS, the byte at 01E2 changes from x'06' to x'07' (NTFS)).
I then use MBRWiz with the /restore= parameter to load the modified MBR file to the target drive.  If you are doing this to Drive 1, use the /Disk=1 parameter on the MBRWiz command line.  With the new MBR online, I then restart Windows/7 Pro x64.   The new partition of 1718548 MBytes is ready for formatting.  I checked my work with a 4-hour format of the new partition and all of the drives I formatted worked just fine
The 4 TByte drive size apparently is the largest drive that this "trick" will work on with the 32-bit MBR.  This trick rely's on the "rule" that the last partition must START below "the 2 TByte line."  I was surprised the number of partitioning tools that I tried would NOT work to create this partition configuration declaring the space was above 2 TBytes.  Acronis True Image has a method to use the "unallocated" space, but it "creates" a Disk 1 out of that space and some applications like SpeedFan 4.49 will "crash" on that configuration.  SpeedFan 4.49 works just fine with the drive configuration created here.
Disclosure: I am NOT employed by any of the brands mentioned here, but am an IBM Retiree not in anyway affliated with them.

Unfortunately your only solution may be to upgrade all of the AA8 installations. Adobe does not support AA8 on Windows 7, though several have been successful on 32-bit systems. The 64-bit system has been a killer for AA8 from what I have seen. Maybe one person reporting success. You might see if it can run under a compatibility setting. It is also interesting to note that the list you posted only mentions AA8.1, not the 8.3.1 that you indicated at the beginning. That could possibly be the issue. Generally the early releases have not worked with 64-bit systems. If you install the updates (maybe from Help>Updates, or as a download from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows) you will get the systems to run. Do expect potential problems if you continue to work with AA8, but you might be able to work it out. Good luck.

  • Oracle BRM / Win 7 Pro x64 / PIN_ERR_DM_CONNECT_FAILED:26

    Hello all
I'm trying to install Oracle BRM but when running pin_setup.bat I have the output below.
I tried on Win 7 Pro x64 and on Windows XP Pro.
I also tried to see if there were any connection attempt when the errors "pcmdd: bad connect for PCWORK, errno 9" is shown, using Wireshark, but it seems that there is no connection attempt when this message is printed to the output.
As the error is exactly the same on Win 7 Pro and Win XP Pro, I think that this is not an operating system problem.
Do you know what I am doing wrong ?
    Thanks

I have checked the services (in services.msc) and I started the following ones :
    - Portal Base Connection Manager
    - Portal Base Oracle Data Manager
All other services cannot be started (Error 1067).
Anyway After starting these 2 services I have launched pin_setup.bat again and now the error is :
*** Error: Unable to update the Portal Base database.
Exiting from the install without finishing successfully.
Please check for errors in C:/BRM/Portal/setup/pin_setup.log
    and then rerun this program.

  • Win 7 Pro x64 Error 0x8007046a: Not enough server storage is available to process this command.

I installed Win 7 Pro x64 on a reasonably decent  machine (Nvidia nForce 680i SLI, core 2 duo, 4 gig ram). It was a clean install on a freshly formatted partition. While copying a large bunch of files from another machine on the LAN, I get "Error 0x8007046a: Not enough server storage is available to process this command." It does give me the option to retry and continue, but the error inevitably pops up again later during the copy. Googling the error, I found a reference to it, suggesting I go to the registry and increase the IRPStackSize (but this article was not specific to Win 7). I tried increasing it as high as 32 hex. This reduces the frequency of the error, but does not eliminate it completely. Also, I now see a new error sometimes that says, "Too many files are currently in use. Quit one or more programs and then try again." That's odd, because I don't have anything else running. I haven't seen these errors when copying files to different partitions on the machine, so I assume it's something to do with network.

    Hi,
To troubleshoot the issue, please try to do an In-Place Upgrade to repair the system.
    1. Start the computer by using the current Operating System.
    2. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in the computer's DVD drive.
    3. Use one of the following procedures, as appropriate:
If Windows automatically detects the DVD, the Install now screen appears. Click Install now.
If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:
    a. Click the Start Button, type Drive:\setup.exe in the start search box and then click OK.
Note: Drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD drive.
    b. Click Install now.
    4. When you reach the "Which type of installation do you want?" screen, click Upgrade to upgrade the current operating system to Windows 7.
    Thanks,
    Novak

  • Win 7 Pro x64 will not sign into iCloud

I am attempting to get iCloud set up on my Win 7 Pro x64 machine, and I am getting the following symptoms:
    - In input my username and password into the control panel and it just sits there and spins.  I end up having to cancel out of it to close the window.  This will spin indefinitely.  I have let it go for upwards of an hour for good measure.
    - I am seeing the following error message in the error logs:

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

    I also have a Windows 7x64 installation.
I had trouble installing the just released iCloud v2.0, specifically getting Photostream to work.  I fixed that by completely removing the v2.0 and re-installing the previous version then reinstalling v2.0 again.
Having got Photostream working I am now unable to turn on the Mail/Contacts/Calender merge (with Outlook) because and I quote "The iCloud Panel did not install properly".  My attempts to repair it from the Control Panel didn't work.
I mention all this here because looking through Autoruns (the Sysinternals utility for examining startup services) I notice that C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\ubd.exe is supposed to run at startup but is actualy missing from my system? Are these problems related.
Oh and what are the chances of getting the new Mail, Contacts and Calender links to run Safari rather that Internet Explorer?

  • Macbook Pro Win 7 x64

Hi, I have recently bought a MacBook Pro 2009 from a mate who sold it as faulty. The Apple store said it was a faulty Logic Board but couldn't say for certain what the problem was. Having experience with PCs I tried putting an old HDD in to test if it
would work and it did. So I bought an SSD and installed Win 7 via Bootcamp.
Last night I upgraded OSX to 10.9.4 Mavericks which installed okay, then I installed the upgrade to 10.9.5 and left it running when I went to work. When I got home I found the Mac had frozen at the login screen with a spinning multi-coloured wheel in the
top left corner but the machine was unresponsive so I had to hold the power button down for 4 seconds to turn it off. After I restarted the update installed (again) successfully.
In Win 7 here is the hardware specs of my Mac:
    System Manufacturer Apple Inc.
    System Model MacBookPro5,5
    System Type x64-based PC
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     P7550  @ 2.26GHz, 2261 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
    BIOS Version/Date Apple Inc. MBP55.88Z.00AC.B03.0906151708, 15/06/2009

could somebody point me in the right direction as to how to resolve these issues? My Machine has been upgraded to 8gb ddr3 1333mhz and a 240gb Kingston SSD 6Gbps. I think this version of the Mac only supports 1.5Gbps sata bus, I have downloaded a driver
from apple to upgrade the EFI to install faster storage to the 3.0Gbps but they do not support it so I am unsure if installing it will be a good idea.
    Thanks for reading.

    Hi,
    According to the Event Log:
Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) error related. Generally speaking, this probably caused by Hardware problem. It would be better to contact Apple Service Center for further assitance.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 crashes on startup after installation (Win XP x64)

    Hello,
I've had no such luck getting PP working on Win XP x64, I've installed everything else and checked to make sure its working correctly from the master collection, but PP is giving me a hard time.  After reading much of the other discussion on this problem, I have yet to find a solution that works for me, things I've tried thus far:
    - Re-installing
    - Re-installed fonts etc.
    - Switched user accounts
    - Removed Quicktime
None of these have worked, Adobe's error reporting tool is garbage I cant even read the crash report data, so I'm stuck......anyone have any good ideas throw them up here, otherwise its time to get angry with tech support....

Sorry to bump a dead thread, but I fixed OP's problem on my computer after doing pretty much all he had done. I signed up for anyone else that might be looking for a solution to this problem.
Browse to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS4"
Find "Adobe Premiere Pro.exe" and right click it and click on "Properties".
Go to the "Compatability" tab and check "Run this program in compatability mode for:" and select "Windows XP" in the drop down list. If you arent on an administrative acount, you may have to switch to it and select "Allow non-admins to run this prog". I tried this after reinstalling, changing the path, removing any registry entry I could find with "premiere" in it, and even trying to use a pirated version. Before you go pointing fingers about that, I get the entire adobe production and design suite for free thanks to my school, IUPUI (http://uitsnews.iu.edu/2008/12/10/new-agreement-makes-adobe-software-available-on-iuware/)  and I needed it for an assignment. Protip, adobe: The pirated version actually launched correctly once, but after a system restart, crashed on start up like before. Just something to think about.
Heres a launch shot + system specs for a refrence:

  • Dolby Home Theatre missing after Win 7 Pro x64 factory restore

    Hi,
I restored my T430s to the factory default Win 7 Pro x64 .
However, Dolby Home Theatre cannot be found.
Where do I download it? It does not appear in the driver matrix for the T430s.
    Thanks!
    Solved!

I had this Dolby tool and uninstalled it :-)  I think Dolby tool is part of AUDIO driver install. Download the AUDIO package for your laptop and install it. Dolby tool appears in  'Programs and Features' also.

  • Reader 11.0.2 extremely slow on Win 8 Pro x64

I have a Core i7 quad-core with 8Gb of ram and a hybrid ssd/hdd 750Gb drive. My computer is quite speedy with everthing _except_ adobe reader. 50% of the time when I try to open a .pdf of various sizes (from 300Kb to 300Mb) the file just never opens at all, and I have to open task manager and kill the adobe process and try it all over. When it does open, a 500Kb file will take about 90 seconds to open, if you want to scroll down? that's another 90 seconds. Want to close Adobe Reader, you guessed it, another 90 seconds go by, if it doesn't completely freeze.
I've reinstalled twice. I even used Revo Uninstalller to really remove Adobe Reader and then re-install. Same slower than molasses in January going uphill on a cold day result.
I do not have 3rd party Anti-Virus as Windows 8 has it's Defender renamed Security Essentials re-renamed Defender.
    PC Specs:
    HP ProBook 4530s
Intel Core i7 2630QM Sandy Bridge 2.00 GHz Quad core, with Hyperthreading (8 Logical Threads)
8.00 GB of DDR3-1333 Dual Channel
Seagate Momentus XT SATA 6.0Gb/s Solid State Hybrid Drive
AMD Radeon HD 6490M discrete graphics
Windows 8 Professional x64 (clean install, MS Technet)
    Please Advise.

I came looking for an answer to the same problem.
Ever since the recent upgrade to Acrobat Reader 11.0.2 the program has been unsually slow off and on.
Mine isn't as bad as PhlMike17's, but I too am running a quad core with 8gigs windows pro x64 up to date, I use mostly for Illustrator and Photoshop/web design.
This morning I checked back to a 275kb 1page pdf image copy of an estimate from a partner company, and it loaded then hung for 5-10 seconds as has been the norm since upgrading.
Sometimes it doesn't hang at all, file size doesn't seem to be an issue.
    I always do the upgrades.
I am running the Japanese version.
    cheers.

  • Multi-Touch Trackpad in Windows 7 Pro x64

    Macbook Pro Unibody
    OSX 10.5.8 (Leopard)
    Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
    Bootcamp 2.1
    Trackpad Update 1.1
Just upgraded my Boot Camp partition from Win XP x32 to Win 7 x64. Or rather, I did a clean install, not an upgrade. I'm running all of the above listed stuff. Muti-Touch isn't working on the tack pad, so I don't have RMB functionality and I'm really missing two finger scrolling.
Also, looking in the Boot Camp Control Panel, I don't appear to have any trackpad options, even after installing the trackpad update. I just tried installing it again, and I get a message saying that it won't update my drivers for the tackpad because what I'm trying to install isn't better than what I already have. That's all well and good, but the pad still isn't working with multi-touch.
Any helpful suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I didn't do anything proactive to get it to work, just the things I mentioned above. Installed Boot Camp 2.1, installed the Trackpad 1.1 update, uninstalled Boot Camp 2.1, Installed Boot Camp 3.0. Side scrolling just started working.
The only thing that's a tad finicky is multi-touch RMB. It works, more or less, but, for example, if I RMB on a bookmark in Firefox to access it's properties (let's say I want to rename it), I have to hold my two fingers down in the click position as as I move the cursor into the conext menu. Otherwise it will launch the bookmarked page. So you can't just two-finger-click on something to evoke a context menu, let go, then use one finger to navigate to the option you want, which is how I would expect it to work.

  • X79-gd45 (8d) - Windows 7 Pro x64 installation questions

    Hi,
I have a MSI X79-GD45(8D) board with i7-3930k processor that I am trying to install Win 7 x64 Pro on.  I have a Sandisk Xtreme 240 SSD that I will be using as a system disk and 2X WD 1TB Black SATA 6GB/s (faex) drives that I will be using in a RAID 1 configuration for storing quickbooks and other data.  This machine will run a quickbooks enterprise server serving 10 people
I want to get the installation right from the get go so that I can start testing it asap.  Here are the steps that I will be taking to get this going.  Could you folks comment on it so that I can modify it as needed.  Thanks.
I have already installed the main board, 32GB RAM, Processor, fans etc and have setup the case.  It does post without issues so far.  Now for the installation, I have not partitioned the SSD (intend to make use of the full 240 GB) and leave the WD disks in a Raid 1 taking up the whole disk space (no partitions).
I am installing Win 7 x64 Pro on the SSD.  Here I have several questions:
    1. Do I set the SATA mode to RAID or should I just leave it at AHCI? I am assuming that this board recognizes drives in AHCI mode and installs Win 7.  I ask this question because I will be using two WD SATA drives in Raid 1 for storing data later.  Will the SATA mode be AHCI irrespective of that fact or should I change it to RAID after installing Win 7?
    2. Should I install Intel RSTe iaAHCI or iaStorA (ver RSTe_Win7_8_64bit_3.5.0.1101_F6) with the F6 option for the setup I mentioned.  I know the F6 installation in Win XP, but a little confused with Win 7.  I ask this because, I have read some discussions of Intel drivers vs Microsoft's version for AHCI.  Raid is confusing though.  Please explain in detail if you can.  Appreciated.
3 If I do F6 installation, do I install the AHCI/RAID drivers again after Win 7 is installed or does Windows properly load the F6 installation?
SSD, AHCI are all new to me with this build.  I have tried to educate myself, but have some of the confusions that I listed above.  Please explain how I can properly install it to the spec that I outlined above.
Your time, patience and help are all appreciated.  Thanks

    Hi,
I have a MSI X79-GD45(8D) board with i7-3930k processor that I am trying to install Win 7 x64 Pro on.
Thanks

1.) IF you are going to be using the mainboads raid controller for the data drive. You need to set the mode to raid for the os install as well. Unless you are going to use the extra chipset for the SSD. (Ports 7 &8) You won't be able to enable raid later w/o re-installing the os.
2.) I put the os(Install) on a usb flash drive, I also include all of the drivers on this flash drive and load the newest versions even if it detects the drive right out of the gate.
3.)Once inside  the OS, you would install the irst drivers there as well. (They are combined the raid bios / drivers and os drivers)
If this isn't going to be a very high I/o server, I probably wouln't bother with the SSD but since you have it you would just use it as a non-member drive of the raid. Have a fast drive for the os, isn't going to help the server all that much as most of the I/O will be on the data drive.
If this is going to be a heavily used server(high i/o) you may want to look at a raid 5 configuration for the os and data drives. As SSD's degrade over time and aren't really optimal for contant use like in a server. Raid 5 requires 3 drives minimum and is striping and mirroring so you get the best of both worlds.

However, the board based raid controller isn't really the best for this set up. I am fairly loyal to Adaptec Raid controllers although you need to contact Adaptec (or whoever) in regards to compatiblity as MSI doesn't test server compoents on thier desktop products.
This is the one I last used:

Although it is probably overkill in your situation.
Also, look into the SAS drives as opposed to the sata drives. (if you use a raid card)
