A665-3dv6 TOSHIBA Application Installer Help !

I accidentally removed the TOSHIBA Application Installer from the hard drive ! Is there a manual way to reach into the hidden recover partition to reinstall "TOSHIBA Application Installer" ? I need it to reinstall some of the original Toshiba apps & not for "Total Out Of Box recovery" !

If you are using windows operating system, try using windows restore and restore to a date and time prior to removing Toshiba Application Installer. Remember to properly back up any data you may have saved just in case.

  • Toshiba Application Installer/Recovery CDs won't load

I have a Tecra A9, WinXP SP3. Recently, I tried to restore my video driver by running Toshiba Application Installer, and got the following error message: "This Recovery and Applications CD is not designed to work with this machine (Portable PC). This CD is for: TECRA A9." When I tried to run the Application Recovery CDs, I got the same error message. I checked the registry, and the only mention of the string "Portable PC" was in My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOSHIBA\SWTOS", under the key "PN". I tried changing it to "TECRA A9", but it had no effect, even after a reboot.
I called Toshiba Technical Support, and the technician was not helpful. His brilliant suggestion was to restore the machine to its state as of a few weeks before. By some miracle, I happened to have a drive image from a few weeks ago, so I backed up my mail and documents and restored the disk from the image. That did nothing. I'm still locked out of my restore disks.
Now, you may ask, why not simply get the old software from the web? Because I don't know my model number. I posted about this in the forums, a couple of months ago, and got some very helpful suggestions from the regulars here, but I don't know for sure. And that technician would not tell me what my model number was. He had my serial number and part number, and he would not tell me.
So, any suggestions as to how to get into either the Application Installer or the Recovery CDs would be most welcome.
I must add that, after my support experience, I am never buying a Toshiba again. I paid good money for a 3-year service contract, and have repeatedly found that the interest of these outsourced support personnel is in getting me off the phone as quickly as possible, not in solving my problems.

What Jerry posted before is correct.  Just use the Link for the one with XP and download those drivers.
     http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/tshb/board/message?board.id=brd_gen&view=by_date_ascending&message.i...
The tech on the phone couldn't give you a S#### number if your computer doesn't have one.  And I assume you have looked at the label on the bottom to see if there is one.
But as Jerry said, the first part of the part number models all use the same drivers.
    This signature left intentionally blank.

  • Re: Question re use of Toshiba Application Installer

    Hey all.
My model came with Toshiba Software Modem installed, but I've noticed in the Toshiba Application Installer there are a couple of other modem drivers that are a little newer. I installed one of them (Conexant) then uninstalled the Toshiba Software Modem and reboted. When it started, it reinstalled the Toshiba Software Modem by default.
So my question is, is it possible to install and use anything other than my original modem? I'm not even sure if it installed the Conexant. It looked like it did but it doesn't appear in the list of installed programs.
As I said, the Toshiba Software Modem was the original, the other two are Conexant Software Modem Driver and Motorola Modem Driver. I don't know why those other two are even in there if they can't be used with my system.
    L305-S5919; Vista 32 bit
    Thanks!

I read in an article about software modems (Winmodem) that said a newer driver can make a difference.
"Winmodems, unlike hardware modems, have complicated driver software. Driver upgrades can thus make a significant difference to Winmodem performance. If you use a Winmodem, check the manufacturer's Web site to see if you can get a later driver."
I have dial-up and I know it's not going to make a huge difference but I thought it wouldn't hurt to try something different, if possible. The three modem files that are available for my system are listed at the Toshiba website, but the same versions are also available in my Toshiba Application Installer.
I don't really understand software modems. I've got Toshiba Software Modem by Agere, but I don't really know if that's the modem or the driver or both. Do the Toshiba L models even have modem hardware? And I don't get why those other two drivers are in my Toshiba Application Installer and are listed at the website as compatible with my system if they're useless.
Maybe the Agere is the modem and the other two are drivers for it?
In C:\Program Files\Toshiba\TOSAPINS\COMPS1, there are text files that accompany each modem driver that say, "These drivers are required for your machine to be able to fully utilize the modem."

  • Installer help application missing

    Hi,
I just got a mini mac, and I re-install everything, updates new OS to 10.5.6 from apple and everything works fine.
However, when I tried to install the "Stuffit Expander 2009", I got the error message saying "Missing Critical Component. Installer help application missing."
Could somebody help me? I am new to MAC.....
    I'd really appreciate the help.
    Thanks

I just got the same message. I downloaded an Expander 2009 .dmg from VersionTracker.com and it installed just fine - give that a shot.

  • Help! PC Suite, Nokia Application Installer error!...

Hi, I have a Nokia n73, and I am currently using the newest Nokia PC Suite downloaded from the website. However, I encountered this problem when I attempted to install sis and jar files through the application manager.
"Nokia Application Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information .................................... etc etc............................................. Send Error Report/Don't Send"
I've read a few problems similar to mien in the forums; however, none had end up with a solution, or not that I know of. Also I know I am able to install sis files just by using the Nokia Phone Browser and opening the sis file there. However, this did not work for me as well, the same pop-up "Nokia Application Installer has encountered..." pops up!
I was just wondering if there is an easier way to install the sis and jar files, without having to go through fixing this problem.

Of course there is! If you have a bluetooth adapter you can send the .sis (.jar) files from your PC to your phone.

  • Qosmio F750 Toshiba applications have stopped working suddenly

    Hi there,
    can anyone help me?
All toshiba applications in my Toshiba Qosmio F750 have stopped working. Including Toshiba bulletin board, tohsiba blu-ray disc player, toshiba reeltime, etc... I don't know why and when it stopped working... please help me anyone :(

    > I don't know why and when it stopped working
For us here on this forum is also not easy to understand what is the reason for your problem.
For that reason I also think best and of course the easiest way to fix all this is OS reinstallation.
Start to use your notebook with factory settings again. With clean recovery image installation everything will be perfect again.

  • Error Installing Adobe Air from Story Desktop Application Installer

This is truly driving me nuts already.
Every time I try to install the Desktop Application from the Story website, it says I must install Adobe Air. So I click Install, it shows the progress bar to 100%, then errors out with a window. The window header reads "Adobe AIR Installer" and the main section of the window reads "Couldn't write the application to the hard disk. Please verify the hard disk is available and try again." - There is a Retry and Cancel. Retry does it all again with same results.
No, I had no previous versions of Adobe Air. So I tried installing AIR direct from the Adobe website, and it installs fine. So I go back to the Story webpage and try installing the Desktop Application again and the exact same set of events as described above happens. I uninstalled the AIR install, tried again, same result.
I had Production Premium CS3 previously, and installed Production Premium CS5 UPGRADE. All the programs in the suite work like a charm!
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with 208 Gig free on my C drive, as well as over 500 gig free spread out over two other drives. 8 Gig memory, and two Nvidia Qadro FX 3500 video cards (If that matters at all). Full admin rights to the PC, not limited in any way.
A quick Google search shows plenty of other people having the same problem,  just no known fixes I've found!
    HELP!!!

  • Adobe Air application installation using the bundled runtime installer

    Hello.
We plan to develop application for different platforms with Adobe Air and testing installing Air applications with bundled runtime installer on different platforms. It's ok with Windows and Mac OS, but we got troubles with "silent" installation on Ubuntu OS 9.10.
I tried to install Adobe Air application with bundled runtime, like in this document in part "Silent installation":
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/redist/WS485a42d56cd19641-70d979a8124ef20a34b-8000.html
    using command-line:
    "sudo ./MyInstaller -silent simple-air-air-application-1.0-SNAPSHOT.air"
and installation fails. Installation log looks like this:
[setup:2306][INFO] Runtime Installer begin with version 2.6.0.19140 on Linux x86
    [setup:2306][INFO] Commandline is: -silent simple-air-air-1.0-SNAPSHOT.air
    [setup:2306][INFO] No installed runtime detected
[setup:2306][INFO] Invoking Application Installer for combined install
[setup:2306][INFO] Launching subprocess with commandline /tmp/air.QMrLZl/build/opt/Adobe AIR/Versions/1.0/Adobe AIR Application Installer -runtime /tmp/air.QMrLZl/build/opt -silent -withRuntime -url file:///tmp/air.QMrLZl/simple-air-air-1.0-SNAPSHOT.air
[setup:2306][ERR] Subprocess app installer failed (-1)
[setup:2306][ERR] Runtime Installer end with exit code 7
P.S. We tried do the same on Linux Mint 10. Everything's fine, application getting installed well.

Thanks for the reply and solution MrSykes.
I uninstalled adobe AIR and ran a file and registry cleaner to delete any left over files and installs.
Then installed the v.15 Adobe AIR beta as recommended.
The cleaners I used (ccleaner & jv16 power tools) did find some temporary install files and remnants of the Video Alchemy install.
Tried the install again and still no installation window displays.
I'm running Windows 7 on my PC and even changed the installation file compatibility to Windows XP service pack 2 to no avail.
Funny that it installed fine on my notebook with Adobe AIR latest version running Windows 7.
I'm watching task manager as I'm attempting the install and videoalchemy.exe has some cpu usage then drops to zero activity.
Then Adobe AIR application Installer starts up then cycles to zero cpu activity.
I'm stumped on this one :-(
Thanks again for investing the time on my behalf.
    Regards
    Stephen

  • Adobe Air Application Installer.exe Documentation

    Hello All,
i am having severe problems retrieving the documentation for "Adobe Air Application Installer.exe"
We have applied as Publisher for Air Apps here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/air/runtime_distribution1.html
    and filled out the form
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=air_distribution2
After that we were hoping to receive documentation about seamless install of air applications, but we are waiting right now ...
So, time is running out, and i need the documentation of the "Adobe Air App Installer.exe"
So far i have managed to silently install an air app:
    '$1 -silent -programMenu -location "$INSTDIR" "$TEMP\AirApp.air"' $0
Where $1 is the "Adobe Air Installer.exe" retrieved from the registry
$INSTDIR is the installation target path
$TEMP is a temporary folder, containing the to install Air Application
the above command works fine for clean and empty systems with no prior versions of the application installed.
what i now miss are the return code meanings, ranging from 0..9 where i only know that 0 means success !
And i would like to have a documentation about the
    -update
    and the
    -uninstall
parameters for seamless installation/deinstallation of a whole air app with data

    hi there,
i got the documentation also, dunno why they make it so hard
    to get it
    thank you very much !

  • When creating an application installer in LV, what run-time engine or driver must be installed to install the VISA interactive control?

I've created an application installer using LabVIEW's application builder and use it to install NI MAX.  However, after running the installer, the VISA interactive control is disabled in NI MAX.
    The installer installs the following NI components:  NI LabVIEW Run-Time 2014 SP-1(64-bit), NI LabWindows/CVI Shared Run-Time Engine 2013 SP2, NI Measurement & Automation Explorer 14.5, NI-488.2 Application Development Support (includes run-time), NI-VISA Configuration Support 14.0.1, NI-VISA Runtime 14.0.1, NI-VISA Server 14.0, NI Systems Configuration Runtime 14.5.0, vision run-time, dc-power run-time.
If I download and run the 488.2 installer, the VISA interactive control is enabled in NI MAX.  But, the installer created with the application builder does not seem to install the necessary components.
What needs to be added to the installer to enable  the VISA interactive control (VISAIC)?
    Thanks.

From Pedro Munoz, Applications Engineer, National Instruments
Sorry for the confusion with the forum post that Jon sent you. I did some research on our internal database and I found out the component will not be installed by any of the components added from the additional installers section on the configuration of the installer. As you have already found out you need to install the full installer in order to enable this feature.
I know that this might be an inconvenient for you because you wanted to have one installer to run. On this case may I suggest using the NI Batch Installer Builder.
The NI Batch Installer Builder allows building installers that contain National Instruments software from several products. That way you can create an installer for you application in LabVIEW (and not include the drivers in the additional installer section), then use NI Batch Installer Builder to include the installer for your application and the full version of the drivers that you mentioned.
    Here is the download link:
    http://www.ni.com/download/ni-batch-installer-builder-14.5/5193/en/
And in here you can find instructions on how to get started with it:

  • N-series Application Installer

    Hey mates,
I have problem with the application installer. I installed it from the accompanied CD. All the installation process is fine! Then the PC suit opened up, but when I click on application installer, the error message came up: "Failed to load application components. Please reinstall the application"
I removed the application, using Control Panel and installed it again but it didn't solve the problem. I tried a couple of times but it hasn't worked yet.
Does anyone have the same problem or know how to fix it? I would appreciate your help!
    Cheers,
    -Tammy

You could use nokia PC suite like the above poster suggested or you could try downloading the Nseries PC suite from here:
    http://www.nseries.com/index.html#l=support,downloads,nseriespcsuite,download
Most the difference is in interface and the way the certain components work such as photos for one, you can download and install both (i have both installed) they seem fine.

  • Application installer issues

Totally bamboozled here. My installer project that has been working for a couple of years, and only stopped when I accidently saved the vis as 2011 from 2010 is driving me crazy! I think I have identified what the issue is but I cant resolve it. When I take the application exe to application installer you can see the structure within the “project files view” that should be recreated within “destination view” for some reason its started adding the entire path to my sub dirs from my works server to this view , so when it installs to my c drive, my program cant fetch certain files because they are buried in superfluous folders!
As an example, the wecel template is contained within the reports folder and should look like this
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Company PVT\Reports\Company PVT Report.xlt
What it actually installs like is
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Company PVT\Reports\J\Projects\75) Fluid Sampling Analysis - Phase 2\15) Source Code\builds\PVT\Company PVT\Reports\Company PVT Report.xlt
Why has it suddenly stated doing this? In that same source files view, I tried using the left arrow to remove the three folders from destination view and then tried pushing them back in by highlighting them in project files view, but the right arrow is greyed out. It wont let me shift the entire folder only the files contain within.
    Any help much appreciated.

What it really means is that your main VI has loaded the sub VI's and dependencies from a folder previously used for building the application.
I would suggest Save As entire project to different location and change the folder structure with the project explorer and create new executable.
    Best regards,
    Vijay.
