A665-s6056, windows 7 64, and a 32 bit windows?

Hi,
I've just purchased a Satellite A665-s6056 which is preinstalled with Windows 7 64 bit. I'd like to be able to use a 32 bit Windows OS as well. I'm wondering if I can install a Windows 7 32 bit system or a Windows XP 32 bit system alongside the preinstalled system, and expect everything to work, especially the eSATA/USB3. I've got an Ubuntu no-partition install on the system and so GRUB appears for a split second before I come to the Windows boot parameter startup screen. Which, now that I mention it, I'd love to know whether I can safely make that go away.
One possible alternative to dual boot is setting up a VM environment, and I'm wondering what impact using a guest OS on top of the host would have on USB and eSATA speeds. Any suggestions?

You can get rid of that boot loader in the MBR by booting from the repair disc. At a command prompt, issue this to replace the MBR..
bootrec /FixMbr
Create a system repair disc
To create the dual boot, shrink the existing partition, make a new one and install 32-bit Windows into it. The dual boot will be automatically created together with a boot menu. You'll need to edit that in order to distinguish the names from one another. I understand you'll need an additional key to activate the second copy no matter what its origin.
If you install from within the existing Windows, the second partition will get a different drive letter. If you boot the machine with the installation DVD to install, the new partition will be named C in the new Windows - the same as the first partition when you boot that Windows.

Hope there might be a clue to assist.
Checked Toshiba support for recommended memory to upgrade from 2X2GB to 2X4GB. Ordered Kingston KTT-S3BS/4G x 2 as recommended. BIOS recognizes the memory, but Windows will not boot. Tried Safe Mode and hangs after a few seconds. Tried Repair Computer, also hangs after a few seconds. Put original memory back in and it boots fine. There was a brief flash of a blue screen once, but no dump file to be found.
To me it seems as ifthe issue is Windows, but I do not know enough about this to say definitively. Just based on the percieved behavior when Windows trys to boot (hanging).
Any ideas appreciated before I go through return and try something else.

Yes he did. But he ordered the Kingston memory that Toshiba recommended as he said...
Checked Toshiba support for recommended memory to upgrade from 2X2GB to 2X4GB. Ordered Kingston KTT-S3BS/4G x 2 as recommended. ... I tried both of the Kingston modules recommended and neither worked.
I'm suggesting that he try the Toshiba part number (PA3677U-1M4G) suggested in the spec, which is made by Axiom.

This issue was already raised in the ThinkVantage subforum here at Lenovo Forums and it is resolved.
Regarding the Turbo Memory, please keep in mind that the hardware only works with Vista. Windows XP does not support turbo memory thus the piece of hardware is rendered useless. With regards to Turbo Memory usage in Vista, the latest drivers do fully support the card in Vista and since there are no technological changes, there is no need for additional or new drivers.

Can I run the 64 bit version of Mountain Lion and the 32 bit version of windows 7 using parallels on the same computer

I purchased a Macbook Pro and it has the 64 bit version of Mountain Lion, I also downloaded Parallels desktop 7, and want to download Windows 7. I need to know if I can use the 32 bit version of wodnws 7 and the 64 bit version of Mountain Lion at the same time on the same computer.

1. Launch System Information into its 'report' mode. (A quick way to do this is by holding down the option key while clicking on the Apple menu item, which causes "About this Mac" to change to that.)
2. From the list on the left, under "Software" click on "Applications." (If you don't see the Applications item, click on "Show more information" from the "File" menu.)
3. Wait a minute or so for the report to finish.
4. The last column in the report is "64-bit (Intel)." (You may need to scroll the window to the right to see it.) Click on that heading to sort the list alphabetically. Anything with a "no" is 32 bit.

Illustrator cs6 64bits and bridge 64 bits can't start since last update on windows 8

Hi, I have windows 8 64bits on a clean install, I've installed Creative cloud (clean install) and works fine, until last Creative Cloud update. Now Illustrator and bridge 64 bits cant't start. I see a message just says "Illustrator stop working" while launching the software. The 32 bits version works, but this is not normal.

Hi! thanks for your answer. But didn't work. I realized that if I minimize the screen to a half the illustrator goes really fast, but in the full screen windows goes insanelly slow. I have a 24'' monitor 1920x1200, wich is big, but is not very huge!
I've reinstalled the driver of graphic card, is a Quadro NVS 420 and other test is for example, right now I'm working on a AI file wich is a 56mb file, it has some jpg incrusted. When I delete the incsusted files works fast too...

I have installed boot camp and Win7 32 bit on my iMac (2010) but I can't start from my mac os even by holding the option key. Windows doesn't recognize my wireless mouse either, but for now going back to the mac os is the priority. Can anyone help please?

Hold the Option (Alt) key after hearing the startup chime and until you see all bootable partitions in the screen. Do you see the OS X partition? If so, select it to start up in OS X. If you want to start up in OS X by default, open System Preferences > Startup Disk, and select your OS X partition.
Respecting to your wireless mouse, you have to install the Windows support software. To download it, you can use Windows or OS X, from this site > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630 If you are in Windows, decompress the file and run the installer. I have a problem that I need to resolve...
Everything runs fine with Firefox, Chrome, IE7, IE8, Safari on Windows XP 32 bits as well as 64 bits, except on Windows 7 64 bits with IE9 64 bits and Flash 11.3. 64 bits. Furthermore, it's work with Windows 7 32 bits with IE9 32 bits and flash 11.3 32 bits.
After the flash client executes a "loadVoucher(drmContentData)" for the licences server, I receive as a response the error code 3303 ?
According to the reference of the runtime error, it's says that the content is expired.

Have you met this problem already, if yes, how did you solve it?

yes, the encrypted content packaged with the policy.expiration.endData only with a date very far away.
I tested that with IE9 32bit on Windows 7 64bit machine, the video works. Flash Access response without any error.

Loaded both CS6 and CS6 (64-bit) extended version...

I just loaded both CS6 and CS6 (64-bit) from disk (no download) onto my Windows 8 HP Envy computer.   I noticed both boxes were automatically checked by Adobe during the set-up. I left as-is to not cause problems thinking just one would load.   Both programs take 3.3 GB but that's not a problem for me.   I was surprised to see that I had a choice of TWO PS programs now on my computer.   I searched all over Adobe and can't find a similar problem.
Also, two versions of Bridge loaded; the regular and the 64-bit.
My question is this (applies to both CS6 and Bridge):   Do I need to remove one?   Why did both load?   If I should leave both, which one should I use?   Why does this happen?
My computer specs:
Windows 8
Memory:     10GB DDR3
System:     64 bit
Hard Drive:     1.5TB
Processor:     AMD Six-Core FX-6200

you should probably leave the 32 bit program.
there are certain plugins, printers, scanners and i-don't-know-what-else that won't work with the 64 bit program and will work with the 32bit program. unless you're certain you won't care about that, leave the 32 bit alone.

LR 5.5 upgrade. I only get the the 32 bit set up and an error when the 64 bit set up should be created. It says not enough disk space and no access to write. The disk space is ok and the 32 bit file was indeed created.

Hi Rob, Thanks for your input. The temp location is on the C drive with 228 GB free space. My other drives have 123 GB and 204 GB of free space. I can see how the 32 bit set up is perfectly extracted when it stops when coming to the 64 bit set up. I have done the exercise several times and also made new downloads. I am using Norton 360 and Malwarebytes anti-malware but the dowload from Adobe should be trusted.

Distorted / choppy recorded sound with Audigy 2 ZS and Vista 64-bit

Hi, I wonder if anybody has any idea of why this issue is happening. First let me give you my PC specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0 GHz

Graphics: 2 x BFG GeForce 8800 GT 52MB

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP
?So here's the deal. I have no problems whatsoever with audio playback with this sound card. The issue I am having is while recording sound with it. When I record my voice via a Microphone with the Windows Sound Recorder and then play it back, my voice sounds very choppy. It sounds as if I was talking in front of a fan. The same happens with any program I try to use. If I use Audacity to record sound, the playback is also distorted / choppy. The main problem is with Skype, as I cannot use it to talk to people because they cannot understand what I'm saying because of the issue. Does anybody has any ideas why this happens? My PC is a dual boot PC with Vista 64-bit and XP 32-bit, and this issue only happens with Vista. Sound recorded plays back fine under Windows XP.
I am using the latest drivers available for this card from the Creative site.

Sure, but there are in some cases drastic performence diferences. Under a fresh installed Vista X64 i have less CPU usage, as under 32 bit. Solidwork x64 and labview 32 bits compatibility?

I'm with a project where I want to make the connection with Labview 32 bit and 64 bit Solidwork to control motors with LabVIEW, I have been following many tutorials and I get to create everything you need but when you run the VI does not move nothing SolidWork thousand times and reviewed the steps and is desesperate. Ruling out any option and I wonder if these two shows are 32 and 64 bits can be the cause of not getting the communication with these two programs. I hope your help. regards
