A665-s6094 starting from sleep problem/hibernate problem and starting form shutdown problem
hey i have a 2 day old toshiba a665-s6094 laptop and whenever i put it to sleep(as in closing the screen not from the button nor the start menu) it cant start again so i have to remove and put back the battery for it to work.
Also it on hibernate, only the display turns off and it doesnt hibernate.
and i have the same problem with shutdown, sometimes doesnt start after shutdown, and only removing the battery and putting it back in makes it start.
Any help would be appreciated.
I am 99% sure that you have the option set to require a password when waking from sleep. If that's the case, the Mac will go back to sleep after a few minutes if no password is entered on wake.
Two workarounds:
1) Turn off the password-on-wake preference, or:
2) Fast-user-switch to the login window before sleeping your Mac. When it wakes it will stay awake; and you still have the security of needing a password to get back into your user account.

Satellite P300-13J doesn't wake up from Sleep or Hibernate
My laptop (Windows Vista 32 bit) is unable to wake up from sleep or hibernate.
Laptop is set to the Balanced Power Scheme.
However, once the display has turned off (after 10 minutes), I am unable to wake it up.
Unable to open Task Manager, Shut Down, nothing works, all I see is a black screen, the disk access light blinking and the fan running.
I end up holding the power button to switch off.
This is a recent development, it might have started when I installed Office 2010 on the laptop.

Since when did you notice this issue?
Was this issue present after clean system installation?
How about the BIOS? Is it up to date?
I read in some threads that BIOS update could helps to sort out such similar problems.
So BIOS update is definitely worth a try.
Also the display driver update would be recommended. Of course just in case you are not using the latest version.
By the way: is Win 7 an option for you? The Win 7 is much better and lot of different issues which appeared in Vista system, have been foxed in Win 7 -
A505 doesnt start from sleep mode
My laptop sometimes doesnt start from sleep mode. Everything is flashing but display is black. after reset with power button starting ok.

A505-S6033, Windows 7I have some problem, but sometime my A505-S6035 when restore from sleep mode LED indicators haven't highlight and brightness of screen is not control by anyway. Can anybody help?

Equium U300-151 crashes from sleep or hibernate when WLAN is switched on
I have a new Equium U300-151. BIOS V3.80 and Intel wireless version 11.5.0.32 (which seems to be the latest driver). Vista SP1
When resuming work from sleep or hibernate mode the laptop always crashes if the wireless switch is on.
I am aware this is a problem that is discussed in a number of forums but apart from hopeful references to SP1 and drivers I have not come across a solution. SP1 does not seem to have helped resolve my problem.

I never noticed such issue on my notebooks and to be honest I didnt find any similar cases here in the forum.
From my knowledge the new BIOS update is available for this unit on the Toshiba driver page.
I would recommend downloading the right and compatible BIOS and to perform the update.

Satellite Pro A200GE-1F9 cannot resume from Sleep or Hibernate with SP1

I've recently used Windows Update to install vista SP1 on my laptop, however since this install I cannot resume from Sleep or Hibernate. (The service pack had installed successfully - according to Windows anyway).
When resuming from Sleep, I get a blank screen.
When resuming from Hibernation, I get a STOP error: +Stop 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x82F11020, 0x9A9D9714, 0x00000000)+ caused by *Classpnp.sys*.
After checking these forums, I've seen that Toshiba does not currently support SP1 +is that correct?+
+*If so, when/how will we be notified when Toshiba release a "patch" for Vista SP1 compatibility? I'm guessing via the TEMPO service?*.+
Prior to installing SP1, I installed all updates (from both Microsoft and Toshiba) and had no problems; all drivers remain up to date.

I think there should be information on the Toshiba driver page, support page or we will receive some information from Toshiba via Tempo applications.

Slow performance at start from sleep
Lately, I've been noticing that iTunes and Firefox both have been taking extremely long times to start up when starting from sleep. iTunes and Firefox are the only programs I've had problems with. The Firefox icon will bounce for about 2 minutes and my iTunes will have the arrow under it showing it's loaded, but neither program will start for about 2 minutes.
Any idea what it could be?MBP 2.2 with 4 gigs of RAM, pre-loaded with Tiger, upgraded to Leopard.
Same problem here! I get that problem after about 3-4 sleep/wakes (which isn't that many times if you're a student hopping from class to class).
It's good to know that turning Airport off or quitting all apps before sleeping seems to prevent this from happening, but I don't think we all paid $2K+ to have to clumsily work around some problem that ceases to exist on an $800 Dell.
Problems like this make me nervous every time I boot this thing up--I find myself holding my breath until I hear that obnoxious "bong." I'm a recent switcher to Mac. Still debating whether that was such a great idea. At least this constant uneasy feeling is compelling me to back my data up compulsively.

Severe problem with installing and starting Audio-DVD Pla

after installing the new drivers (SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe) for my Audigy2ZS in XP SP3 i had np mic boost and the mixer did not show the mic as an selectable source. So i rolled back to my old drivers and after that i have problems with installing and starting the Audio DVD Player. I tried so far: uninstalling everything like its said solution ID 72, checking HD for corrupted files and i did a repair installation of XP. Nothing helped. When i only install the drivers and the DVD Audio Player from the original CD everything is fine until the reboot adter installation. When the OS tries to start the "chkcolor.exe" the PC instantly reboots. When preventing XP from doing so, there is no reboot, but as soon i want to start the DVD Audio Player a reboot occurs again. When i try to uninstall the DVD Audio Player before unstillaing the drivers, the is also a reboot. First uninstalling the drivers and then the DVD Audio Player, there is no reboot.
Any ideas?

When mousing over text, the cursor flickers constantly (with every letter passed) from arrow to i-beam and back. The problem occurs in both MS Word 2011 and Pages. Any idea of how to solve this annoying problem will be much appreciated. System 10.10.1 on a MacPro (Late 2013)
The mouse is controlled by the OS so don't guess any app other than a mouse driver or OS X itself would be able to cause this sort of flicker issue.
Have you seen the following and is it what you are seeing? Maybe you could make a movie (Quicktime is great for this this to make a screen recording) - but not sure how to attach a movie to these discussions as mine is grayed out and can't be selected (to the right of the insert image). What kind of mouse are you using? Is the mouse driver up to date if it's a third party mouse? -
Waking from sleep with no battery and no keyboard action
Hi there,
Since this unfortunate battery recall, I'm now running my PB with no battery (as recommended) i.e. just the power supply. I have my PB configured to prompt for a password when waking from sleep, which it does. However my keyboard does not appear to be responsive for several seconds.
Here are my steps:
1. Close the lid. PB goes to sleep.
2. Open the lid. PB wakes up and prompts me for my password.
The mouse cursor via the trackpad is responsive immediately. However attemping to type in the password field does not yield anything. The PB then automatically goes back to sleep. I can then wake it again with the keyboard and start typing.
The really weird thing is that with the battery installed, I do not have this keyboard issue i.e. my keyboard input is accepted immediately on the first wake up.
I have reset PRAM but to no avail. Any ideas? I'd rather not live with this behaviour while I'm waiting for my new battery.

You will be pleased to know your not the only one experiencing this issue. Like yourself I am now running my Powerbook without the battery and have noticed that when waking from sleep both my keyboard and mouse are unresponsive for several seconds.
This also happened to my friends 867Mhz Powerbook when he was having battery problems. It would seem they just dont like being run without batteries installed.

Not waking up from sleep-flashes lighted keyboard and screen, and I cannot unlock the padlocks in the system to change settings, look at keychain, etc.

I can't reinstall ML, nor can I create another user (unless I use Terminal, and I'm a novice at best with Terminal).

Why are my itunes-synced songs and pictures are incomplete (corrupted) when transfered to my iPhone? E.g. songs start from somewhere in the middle and glitch continiously. This is a big problem which means all my windows -> iphone pictures are half black or glitched on the iphone. Also my songs are completely glitched. I have tried resyncing and different USB-ports.
Same problem on Iphone 4s AND windows 7. Really annoying that I can't have any music on my brand NEW device.

My MacBook Pro 10.6.8 prompted me of a new itunes update this morning, so i downloaded it. Since then itunes has been starting up randomly on its own, and starts playing the first song on the list. I pause the song, and it resumes it on its own again. I'm not joking. So, I end up quiting out of itunes; but, it starts right back up again on its own. After quiting out of the app a few times, it eventually stops reopening; however, about an hour later (or less) it opens again. HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP? I'm just about to delete itunes, because I've had enough of this crap. I hope someone can help. I've restarted the laptop, and it seemed like that fixed it, then itunes started up doing the same thing again an hour later. ituneshelper is unchecked; bluetooth is off; i only have speakers and a mouse plugged in (also charger).
Read this Apple Discussion Thread and possible solutions. The audio jack has been the main culprit, also certain sync and automation settings including connected remotes.

Orange haze at start from sleep mode?
So, in the past 2 days my iMac starts up from sleep mode with a strange orange haze to the screen. This has happened every time, though not when I power down and reboot. yesterday it lasted a few minutes, today it remains though it has lightened somewhat. Mac bought in '09, and zero issues with hardware or software since day one.
Mac OS 10.6.8
2.8 Ghz intel Core duo
2 GB 800 Mhz RAM
Has anyone experienced this? Also checked the settings - all normal. Thanks in advance,

All good. Someone in the household installed an app, Flux, and yeah, its now gone.I have some problem, but sometime my A505-S6035 when restore from sleep mode LED indicators haven't highlight and brightness of screen is not control by anyway. Can anybody help?

Solution for those People having sleep and shut down problem.Go CONTROL PANEL
select RECOVERY
select OPEN SYSTEM RESTORE
then restore your laptop

Lenovo G770 Fan not spinning up after resume from sleep or hibernate
Hi guys,
My lenovo G770 is facing an issue where when ever I resume the system from either sleep mode or hibernate, the fan does not spin up, as a result I have to either restart the system or open the system, pull the wire of the fan and put it back in the power socket.
Lets make 2015 the year of the #DO

Welcome back. If the fan runs normally on first boot until you suspend / resume, then I might imagine this is power management quirk, or something confused in the embedded controller.
1) Try going into BIOS and reload defaults - this might refresh values there.
2) Try uninstall / reinstall power management driver and the energy cut software (Idea power manager).
Did you recently update BIOS or drivers?
I would also try some temp monitoring software just to see how CPU temps run after you come back from sleep to see if the fan should be running.
