A75A-G55 - Where is VGA Driver on CD-ROM?

I have just installed a new A75A-G55 mainboard running XP SP3, but there doesn't seem to be a driver to match my Tyris monitor.  It's a wide screen 1440x900.  I'm using the 1280x960 now, but would like to go with the native resolution.  Device Manager just shows a big yellow question mark for "Video Controller (VGA Compatible).
The MSI driver CD-ROM doesn't start setup, it complains "Failed to load Hardware Monitor Driver !"  But I can see there is a lot of stuff on the disk.  Windows doesn't find the driver on the disk (either the XP disk or the MSI driver disk) but others have reported that XP just doesn't do a good job looking.  Can anyone tell me what the name of the driver is that is required and/or what directories on the disk to look for it in?  Or if it's not on the disk, where else to look for it?

Problem Solved!!!  Thank you for the link to the AMD driver download.  For some reason, I was unable to find that when I was searching through the AMD support site on my own.  The driver installed without a hitch, but there was one nervous spot.  Near the end of the install, the screen blanked and stayed that way - the montior reported no signal.  I left it that way for ~10 minutes, then powered down the machine.  When the system powered up, all was good!  The device manager now reports that I have a display adapter and it is the AMD Radeon HD 6410D.
There was one other thing, a bit of major league bone-headedness on my part.  I noticed while I was uninstalling the current AMD drivers that the NVIDIA drivers for the previous motherboard were still installed.  I removed them also before doing the install with the new AMD downloaded driver.

  • K7N2G Live VGA Driver Choice

    Live Update 3 says my MSI Live VGA Driver is 4114. Two choices are offered for updating it: MSI Version or nVidia Version. Both have the same version number, 4403, but the two files are 4MB apart.
    I'm not even sure where to look to learn the info to figure out which to use.

    PS For the record: in the thread "Power Supply Requirements", in my last post there I had said that the cpu temp was about 50c. After I updated the BIOS to 1.40, the temp reading is now a steady 34c.

  • ##SOLVED## VGA driver install crash. Ive tried everything!

    Here are the system specs.
    K8N Master 2 FAR (original bios)
    2 X Opteron 246
    1 x 1gb DIMM Legend ECC REG DDR 400
    Enermax liberty 600watt
    2 Hitachi deskstar 8mb cache sata 120gb
    Tried graphics cards
    7600gs PCI-E
    7200 PCI-E
    Now the issue I am having is the nvidia vga driver installer crashing. The screen flickers a few times (normal) then goes black for approx 2 minutes until a BSOD. Upon rebooting windows loads until a blank screen with cursor and then back to the BSOD. Booting into safe mode and removing the drivers allows windows to boot correctly but whatever I do I cant get the drivers to go!!!!
    I have tried fresh installs of XP pro (sp1, sp2, sp3 beta) as well as server 2003 enterprise. I have also tried the two different vga cards along with three different driver releases. I have also tried both PCI-E slots. I have also tried installing under safe mode, same BSOD. If I had a PCI-E ATI card it would be a valuable diagnostic tool but unfortunately I do not so; have to try and eliminate the problem without it.
    The weirdest part of the issue is that when the system was last used approx 8 months ago (I have been overseas) things were fine. Same exact hardware.... Any suggestion for things to try will be greatly appreciated because although a couple of years old now this is still a hell of a good system and I am most certainly not ready to give up on it.
    I am downloading the latest mobo bios now and will update this post with my results. I am however not hopeful the the bios is the answer.

    Thanks for the advise Bas. I had in fact tried memtest. Another thing I forgot to mention.
    Anyhow I downloaded the latest nforce and forceware drivers last night and this morning (dial-up) and updated the BIOS (using the very handy thumb drive tool from these forums) to 1.42. Did a clean TinyXP SP2 install, installed the drivers and... no prob's at all. I'm not sure if it was the BIOS (I doubt it), the new nforce or the new forceware version but something worked. Its happily been running a simultaneous sisoft sandra and 3dmark 07 loop (crawling obviously but I wanted max stress) for the whole of the afternoon while Ive been out sailing with no prob's at all.
    All I can say is thanks and see ya' round. I'm planning on modding' some large passive P4 coolers to fit the board; I know its going to be a job and a half but as I'm running a passive vid' card and whisper quiet power supply )dual rail Enermax... none of the common prob's associated thankfully) and drives I figure its worth it. I have the better (it would seem) revision of the board with the identical copper coolers (not the funky mismatched pair) and had considered new fans (70>80mm adapters included) but figure I may as well got the whole hog. Out of interest is there a forum post/site anyone knows of where people have submitted there results with various coolers?
    I will post results here to help others anyhow when I have achieved something worth sharing.

    Windows 8 will find the best available driver for the installed notebook installed graphics solutions during installation.
    The only available drivers for your notebook currently provided are for Windows XP and Windows Vista.
    Your notebook has no support for Windows 7, so do not expect to find new graphics drivers for Windows 8 at the HP web suport portal for your notebook.

    Hi prateeek, welcome to the HP Forums. Unfortunately HP does no offer 32 bit drivers for your notebook. Windows 7 and 8 64 bit are available on the download page for your notebook: HP 14-d009tu Notebook PC Drivers
    What if I Don't See My Operating System?
    You can try Intel and NVidia for drivers, but since they weren't designed specifically for this notebook they will probably not work properly.

    Unfortunately no one can help you.
    There are no 32 bit graphics drivers for the AMD/Intel gpu setup in your notebook.  None were ever developed.
    If you want to use the graphics and wecam then you need to install a supported operating system (W7 x64).

     Lets start off the right way. You have more than a MB in that PC please tell us what it's made of. What OS, Win. XP? If so what SP, 1, 2 or 3?

  • Default VGA driver can let me increase resolution between '800x600' to '1024X 768'?

    Hi,
    I was told that the initial VGA is an standard,
    800x600 or similar, only gives me the option to show image but not some other possibilities like external display, clone display and those stuffs.
    The specific VGA (FX 5200) driver, give to your rig the "possibility" to address all the image process to an specific device, in this case, the FX 5200 and add some extra functions like external display (at different resolutions),
    clone display, extend display...and those stuffs.
    However, I noticed that while using the default VGA driver, then I could increase 'resolution from '800X600' to 1024x768 Pixels. Also, the 'colour quality' to 32Bit or 16Bit, although it is intial, standard
    VGA, I could change the resolution.
    Thus, my questions are:
    First:  what benefit is there from instlling the driver of the default VGA as long as I can change the screen resolution into '1024X 768' while using default VGA driver, which means that icons, and display would be OK??
    Second:  With using a default VGA driver on
    any Computer, there are only  '800x600' to '1024X 768'? (I.e. The resolution of all default monitor can be only between   800x600 and '1024X 768'?

    On the Toshiba page you can find the display driver!!! The driver was definitely published!!
    Toshiba published 2 drivers for XP (ATI and Intel) and 2 drivers for W2k (ATI and Intel)
