AA 1.5 Consolidate tracks in one location, how to do it?

I have a bunch of tracks spread out in an unorganized fashion. I'm trying to find a way in AA 1.5 to consolidate or put them all in a new folder, organized.
Thus far, save as doesn't work, and the only method I've found is exporting each track as a new file while it's selected under "solo". Surely there is a consolidate option I'm missing?

Good advice from Bob.
From what you are saying you have "tracks" all over the place - I'm not sure how these tracks relate to your sessions.
Are you saying that the tracks and the associated media are in different locations?
I'm gonna think a little outside the box here so bear with me.
I would download a copy of www.mediasweeper.com.au this will give you some idea where everything in a session is located.
The other thing to note (and you can try this) AA will try and load an audio file belonging to the session from the absolute path but if that file isnt in that location it will look in the same folder as the session file.
Now between the app and that info you could possibly work out what should be copied where to get the result you want
Just a thought....

  • Consolidate tracks into one album

    I have the latest version of itunes and I ripped one of my cd's last night.  It's a 2 disc album and it ripped disc 2 fine as one album, but disc one is all separate tracks.
    I have selected all the tracks and clicked "get into", changed all the info to the same and it used to combine all the tracks into one album, but now for some reason it won't work.  I have tried the "consolidate" option and that doesn't work either.
    I don't particularly like the new itunes interface to be honest, it looks very cold and uninviting
    Apologies if i'm on the US site of Apple, I keep changing the page to UK and it keeps reverting me back to US again!

    Hi there.
    Thanks for your reply.  I was trying to do this last night, I updated to itunes 11 a few days ago.  I turned on my laptop this morning and found there was another update, so I updated and now it works!
    The album in question is a various artists one, so I change the album artist to various artists, so it preserves the artist name on each individual track.
    I don't know about you, but when an album has more than one disc, I always re-number the tracks and combine them all into one complete album, it looks tidier that way, instead of having disc 1, disc 2 etc.
    I guess I'll have to get used to the new interface of itunes, as long as it works properly that's all that matters I suppose.

  • How to move multiple tracks from one location to another on HD and keeping iTunes updated?

    Hi all
    I'd like to move/re-arrange some subdirectories of my iTunes' main folder and I'd like to keep iTunes library updated without broken links without needing to re-imports the moved albums/tracks. Is there any method to do this? Even with the help of some utility or app?
    thanks in advance!
    luca

    iTunes works this way.  You add a file. It makes a note of its location and metadata stored in the file and adds this to its own library database.
    Note: All my answers are with reference to iTunes 7.5  (yes, 7.5). I've stopped trying to keep up with Apple's newer stuff which is why I rarely come here anymore.
    Answers to your specific questions.
    1&2)  I think I have in the past copied a file with the identical name over an existing file and iTunes was fooled into thinking it was the original file.  However, it didn't update the metadata in its own database until I highlighted the file briefly in a playlist.  This causes the original file to be re-read.  The same thing happens if I use a third party metadata editor to change the metadata in a file.  iTunes will continue to display the old data until I briefly select the file in a playlist or it starts to play the file.
    You can, by the way, add two files with the identical name (but in two different folders obviously) and iTunes will add them both as individual entries, even if the metadata is identical.
    3)  I don't have iTunes Match obviously (I can't even see the Store anymore with iTunes 7).  My third hand understanding is it won't do anything to your original files.  If it finds a match it will automatically download the match to your iTunes folder as if you had all the preferences settings set to use it normally.  I'm guessing you will then have two files for that track and you'll need to work on cleaning up the lesser quality one unless you want to just leave it.  Again, can't speak from experience.
    I have both preferences options de-selected and don't want to select them to test my reply. I don't want iTunes to do either because I have media organized by kind and source over two internal hard drives and 3 partitions.  I 100% manage my media manually and have always done it that way.  I think option 2 has iTunes restructure your folders according to album and artist.  I deselected both because i didn't want to constantly be fighting iTunes in its attempt to organize things how it wanted.
    If you're going to manage your media manually then you need to understand how iTunes works in detail and be willing to stay on top of it.  iTunes is designed to do everything on its own so people don't have to worry about things.  By unclicking its default preferences or moving files yourself in Finder or using a script to do so you are also figuratively clicking a button that says, "Okay, I know what I am doing and iTunes works."  Normally rule #1 with iTunes is never, never move a file to a different location in Finder and you'll see a lot of posts here from people who have "lost" items becaause they moved a folder or renamed it.  Maybe iTunes behaves differently when you deselect those preferences because I do this all the time and iTunes can track it as long as I don't move it to a different volume/drive.  I am very careful not to lose things or make duplicates, and of course I back up my computer before any major editing.

  • HT204053 I have two Apple ids and want to consolidate everything onto one.  How do I do it?

    I have two Apple ids and my syncing from iMac to MacBook and iPod Touch is messed up.  I want to consolidate all of my contacts and calanders (at least!) under one of my ids, and also use that one for the App Store.  What can I do?

    Purchases are forever tied to the ID used to buy the items, so you don't want to change the iTunes Store account to a different ID.
    You cannot "consolidate" or merge two IDs.
    For your use of icloud, just decide which ID (or account) you want to use.  The following tells you how to move data from one icloud account to another:
    When connected to the account you want to GET data from, Go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.
    When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone.
    After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to this new account.
    Note that this only affects the "Apple data" like contacts, calendars, reminders, etc.  Many third party apps also use iCloud to store data files there.  These files may be lost in the process, unless the apps also keep the data locally on the device.
    NOTE:  Photos in the photo stream (if you use it) will not transfer to the new account.  It is advised that you save the photos to a computer before performing the account switch.

  • Consolidating tracks under one album

    How do you consolidate tracks under one album... i imported an album and now it has multiple album covers, separating the tracks.

    Have you had a look at this troubleshooting page? It may be of some help: Why aren't songs with the same album art grouped together

  • HT4059 Can I use Consolidate Files to move several different tracks into one Album?

    Can I use Consolidate Files to move different tracks into one Album?

    No, that's not what the Consolidate command is for. That command for getting all your track files into a single folder. To get all the tracks in an album to appear together, just Get Info on the tracks and make the album name all the same for each track. See:

  • Consolidate tracks from multiple .Band projects onto one .band project

    The subject says it all:
    how do I Consolidate tracks from multiple .Band projects onto one .band project?? I've got 4-5 tracks which are each seperate podcasts on one .band file. I need to add a few tracks from a different .band file (because they're podcasts that are part of the same podcast series project). How do I consolidate them? Tried copy/paste the track, didn't work. Thanks a TON!!!!!!!!

    you can copy and paste, it just take a little more effort to do what you want. read the tute on rescuing files and you'll see how to move one project into another:
    http://www.bulletsandbones.com/GB/Tutorials.html#allaboutrescuingfiles
    then create the needed tracks for the next project and move them into the right positions, etc.

  • How can i move a podcast track from one podcast to another?

    I subscribe to a number of podcasts and  recenly some of them have started downloading to new podcast folders (One of them underwent a slight name change, and the others I'm not sure why). So now, some of my podcasts have two folders: one with the old podcasts and one where the new podcast download to. I want to keep all the tracks, because I reference them from time to time, but I hate having these extra folders. Is there some way to move podcast tracks from one podcast to another so I can consolidate these tracks?

    Use export/import.

    Your image history (if I understand you properly) is stored in your catalog file, and nowhere else, and so it is only on a single drive.
    Do you mean you have edited photos on multiple drives? This isn't a problem for Lightroom at all, the software doesn't care, and you can leave things just the way they are. But if it bothers you for some reason, you can move the photos to a single drive if you want. In Lightroom select the desired photos or folders (it's easier to do this using Folders) and drag them to the desired drive.
    Alternative if you will be moving lots of folders: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders

  • Merging tracks to one album

    Sometimes when I import a cd the songs come in as separate albums. Is there a way to consolidate them to one album name? Ditto for say classical music on 2 or more disks.

    You sometimes also have to select all the tracks and choose compilation esp for older MP3's or ones with not 100% clean tags.

    how to eliminate multiple album covers and consolidate back to one album cover

    Duplicate the tracks, then edit the properties of the duplicates. Or make a playlist, but then you don't get to add different artwork. You cannot make one physical audio file part of two different albums.

  • Offer Multiple choice for movies playing in one location (Newbie)

    Hi,
    I'm definitely a Flash C3 newbie (newbie for all of flash!).
    I've been able to figure out how to embed a flash movie in my web
    page, but now I need to offer the user a choice of which movie to
    play - and then start that movie in one location... this must be
    CSS compliant and HTML STRICT... I think I need to address this
    through Flash, as I can't figure out how to do it via HTML or
    CSS... Help me, please.

    The steps are correct but you've left out the one that adjusts the 2 through 9 movies position as compared to the others.
    The first video would hold a position of 0,0 (upper left). When you add the second video you need to adjust its "offset" to position it next to but not overlapping the first. Since your videos are 100X75 you would set the offset of the second track too 100,0 (100 pixels to the right of the original and 0 pixels different in height). The third would be 200,0 offset.
    On the second row your first file would be 0,75 (75 pixels below the upper video). The second file on the second row would be offset 100,75 and the third would be 200,75.
    The third row would be 0,150 followed by 100,150 and 200,150.
    You could add a slight "border" between each video and give it a color by using the bgcolor="your color" (standard html color codes) and adding that space by adjusting the offset plus your border width in pixels. Hollywood Squares style of video.
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/03war/ one of my older files that uses multiple track video playback of a QuickTime file. The "TV" set is a track and the video that plays "inside" it is another. The still image movies are also separate tracks and QuickTime .mov files can hold up to 99 tracks.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up. You can't use the FIndMyiPhone app  on the iPod since the app requires iOS 7
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • HT1849 How do i consolidate tracks by album?

    How do I consolidate tracks by album?

    hi,
    one option you have would be to slide the "album column" to the right. when you click on an column title, you can drag it to rearrange it to the left or right. this way, you can even place to column out of view further right and in order to view it, you will need to move the left-right sliders.
    I don't think it is silly that even if you can view album title under artwork to still have a sorting option based on column view. It could confusing for a lot of user to have their library sorted based on a column that have been hided.

  • How to copy file from  one location to another

    Hi,
    I am new to java, I tried the following code to move the file from one location to another
    public class CopyFiles {
    public String copy ( File source, File target)
    throws IOException {
    FileChannel sourceChannel = null;
    FileChannel targetChannel =null;
    try {
    sourceChannel =new FileInputStream(source).getChannel();
    targetChannel= new FileOutputStream(target).getChannel();
    targetChannel.transferFrom(sourceChannel, 0,
    sourceChannel.size());
    finally {
    targetChannel.close();
    sourceChannel.close();
    return "Success";
    public static void main(String [] args) throws Exception{
    File source = new File("C:\\users\\download.pdf");
    File destinationFile = new File("C:\\apple\\download.pdf");
    copy(source, destinationFile);
    The above code is working perfectly, but I Don't want to include the file name in destination file. i.e. File destinationFile=new File("C:\\apple"), and at the same time the pdf with same name has to get stored in the destination location, how can I achieve this.

Yes?
    If that's the case, then break the original up into separate directory and file name portions, and then construct the destination path from the destination directory plus original file name. You can do that by manipulating the full path string, or by using the methods in java.io.File.
