AA3 cut & make time space during audio recording

Sporadically AA3 make a cut and a small time interval of the audio wave that is recording before starting it again.
My OS is of Microsof Windows XP Professional X64 Edtion, version 2003 with service pack 2. I have a CPU AMD Athlon (tm) 64X2 Dual core processor 3800+ 2.00 GHZ and 3.00 GB of RAM. With a video card of ATI Radeon HD 3850 AGP.
I will appreciate your help.

> I'm not hearing any gaps in the playback, It is that the audio wave while recording is cut for an interval of seconds and then the recording process continue.
I'm not sure I understand.
Are you saying that when recording AA stops recording and produces a gap in that recording "for an interval of seconds" and then continues on? If so then obviously when you play it back there is no sound for those few seconds?
If that is the case it would seem to me that AA is being interupted by some other process on your PC eg AntiVirus software, wireless network card or some other background task.
Onboard sound cards like the Realtek are pretty cheap and nasty bits of gear and are not really designed for any real recording tasks. However, make sure you are using an asio driver for the Realtek or try downloading the free asio4all driver.
>Which sample/buffer size will be correct for this error recording
Trial and error will determine that - higher the sample/buffer size the more latency. Start at 512 and work either way up or down. The wrong buffer setting will result in crackle etc.
But try that after all the background stuff - also check OzPeter's DPC latency suggestion http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b586e9/0

The first thing I would do is to remove the .dat file that
can be found via the following path:
    C:\Document and Settings\Username\Application

Rename the captivate_v20.dat to something like

  • Os X Mountain Lion and Logic Pro, Garageband Audio Recording Driver Update

HI just purchased the os x mountain lion upgrade....and ever since my recording software like logic pro and even garageband audion recording is given me a problem .....ive been getting loud static noise during audio recording.....is there an update that will fix these issues...need to know

  • Audio Recording Time Question.

I've set the Audio recording time to 20 minutes and then recorded a stereo audio track (Guitar FX) simultaneously with three MIDI input channels. We stopped after about 15 minutes of recording only to find the audio had been truncated after just 7 minutes! The 'de-mixed by channel' MIDI tracks were complete though. This happened every time we did a take and there was no warning audio recording had stopped!
I'm confused. Do you have to divide by two and minus some from the Recording Time setting just because you record in stereo? Or do I have a vital page missing from my manual?
    I'm using Logic 7.2.1.

Make sure that your Projects End position is longer than 201(top right in the Arrange, drag the end position),but normally that won't be the case as Logic auto adjust it when you finish your recording.
try to see if this is it
You can also type in the bar number,to where you want your project to end in the transport bar(cmd+7),under Bpm,double click.

  • My external audio recording device only records to the right channel.  How do I send the sound in the right channel thru the left one in Final Cut to get a full stereo sound?

My external audio recording device only records to the right channel.  How do I duplicate the sound in the right channel and run it to the left one in Final Cut to get full stereo sound?
I've already copied and pasted the right channel (A2) onto the left channel (A1) but that just doubled the volume on the right channel.
For instance, when I listen to my audio with headphones it only comes thru the right one.  How do I make it so that it comes thru both headphones?

Stereo is something else. It is a sound field where the individual elements are located through varying the amount of electrical energy for each element delivered to each channel.
What you have is a mono source that should be panned to center. This will equally divide the signal so it will be delivered out both the L & R channels.
Load the original clip to the VIEWER and set the PAN to 0 (zero). Delete any duplicates. They are unnecessary.

  • Methods of Cut/Insert time during sustains

I can recall in the now defunct sequencer Studio Vision (and I think this may also apply in DP), when you cut or inserted time in the timeline--globally in the arrange window--any sustained notes (such as pads) occuring at the point of the operation would automatically lengthen or shorten in a corresponding manner to the cut or insert time operation. It was marvelously convenient and quick.
Because Logic is operating only on encapsulated regions in the arrange window, it makes no such adjustments to the durations of the notes within and I find that every time I do some kind of global operation like this, I have to spend some time to readjust sustained notes on all affected tracks so they are no longer either too long or too short by the amount of time of the cut or insert. This is not such an issue with beats, drums, and so on, but it's a big deal with pads, strings, piano with sustain pedals, and so on.
Since using Logic for 15 years, I'm not particularly hopeful that I'll suddenly find a new way of dealing with this problem, and have just gotten used to this extra step. But I'm certainly open to any brilliant new workarounds anyone might have that I haven't thought of or discovered.
    Thanks.

Transform templates might be a little quicker, although probably not, because I can usually do nudge duration key commands pretty fast which are also set in these standard increments. If you select a bunch of regions and can do one operation, that would be faster, but I don't see how you could easily just affect those notes that needed adjusting without changing all or most of the others. Then all the notes inside would be affected by a duration transform, so you're still faced with manually selecting only those notes that have been adversely affected by the operation (in each region separately) and readjusting them. I don't mind too much if it's just a track or two, but it can get to be a hassle when dealing with dozens of tracks.
If the music was working as is, but you just wanted to lengthen or shorten some part of it, there isn't any need to have a unique circumstance for each patch in the sense that if I cut a 1/4 note out of a sustain from a global cut time command, then everything just needs to have a duration changed by the same 1/4 note amount over the cut or insert, and the music will sound exactly the same except that it will be shorter in one spot by 1/4 note. I deal with this situation all the time in film scoring.
What is relevant here is the connections between the notes and how much overlap (or lack thereof) there is, and that musical relationship remaining constant.
Imagine you do a mockup of a multitrack string piece which has a lot of long sustained notes and legato phrases. And you just want to take a quarter note out of the middle of the piece. What do you do?
    You find the spot.
Do a global cut time. Causing the regions to separate and move.
You "merge regions" for all the tracks in question because they are now separated.
Now you can clearly see the notes over that section are a 1/4 note too long in duration and will overlap with the next notes.
So you go through every track and manually shorten them by 1/4 note.
What if Logic just did this step automatically?
As I said, I did not have to do that in SV or DP, or you could think of it somewhat like taking a razor blade to a piece of analog tape (albeit without editing glitches). Logic does this with audio tracks-yes--but not with MIDI tracks.
When doing global cut/insert time commands, Logic at the moment cares only about the movement of Larger chunks of data (regions). It does not look internally at the effects of these operations so it only adjusts start times of MIDI events, but not durations. Music consists of both. This is what I'd like to see changed, or at least offered as an alternative mode. Ideally, MIDI regions would never actually be cut in this mode, but rather the notes adjusted internally and the regions in the arrangement simply resized/moved respectively to reflect the time inserted or cut from the global timeline.

  • Captivate 5 freezes up any time I try to record, edit, or import audio

I'm using Captivate 5 to create a CBT. When I try to record, edit, or import audio to the slide the program just freezes. When I end the program through my computer's task manager, it says that Captivate is waiting for a response from me. I can not click on anything after I select Audio > Record > Slide. After I reopen the Captivate I can access the Audio Settings with no problem however. Why is Captivate doing this and how can I fix it?

OK. My next guess would be that there is some corrupted element in your project that is preventing compiling from successfully completing.
Next thing to try is use a process of elimination to locate the offending object.
First try copying and pasting all slides from your problem project into a new blank project.  This will rename all objects in all slides and strip out any Advanced Actions, but if your issue is due to either of those, then it should immediately be able to compile.
If that doesn't work, try hiding all slides and just unhide them one at a time to see if it will compile.  If you go through your project a few slides at a time, you may eventually find the offending slide and then whittle it down to the offending object.

  • When I make a audio recording, I miss the breathing before the first note using metronome click

When I make a audio recording, using count in metronome click, I miss the breathing before the first tone. I hear very abrupt the first tone. I like some environment before, the acoustic of the hall

So... if i understand what you are trying to achieve...
When recording sing a single short note (To actually start the recording and then wait a bar before you start actually singing your music.. You can then go back and edit out the single note leaving the ambience... and your breathing intact and recorded.

I want to fetch max date timestamp value for each key value but i do have cut off time as 21:00:00, which means anything after this time will be considered as next date 00:00:00 time value. I have attached an example for the same and

  • HT203177 how do i clear old backups from time machine to make more space

My 2TB Time Machine is nearly full.  I am trying to back up a drive in a Mac Min that is starting to fail and wanted to do so on Time Machine.  Unfortunately since my Time Machine is nearly full it will not back up drive without eliminating nearly all of the files on this Mini.  I am okay overwriting the other backups already on the Time Machine but do not know how to force Time Machine to do so.  Please any clues on how to make Time Machine overwrite other backups would be greatly appreciated.

About TM "Backup Drive is Full" Alert
TM only deletes older files if they have been deleted from the source and when TM needs space on the backup drive for a new incremental backup. Time Machine "thins" it's backups; hourly backups over 24 hours old, except the first of the day; those "daily" backups over 30 days old, except the first of the week. The weeklies are kept as long as there's room.
So, how long a backup file remains depends on how long it was on your Mac before being deleted, assuming you do at least one backup per day. If it was there for at least 24 hours, it will be kept for at least a month. If it was there for at least a week, it will be kept as long as there's room.
Note, that on a Time Capsule the sparsebundle grows in size as needed, but doesn't shrink. Thus, from the user's view of the TC it appears that no space has been freed, although there may be space in the sparsebundle.
Once TM has found it cannot free up enough space for a new backup it reports the disk is full. You can either erase the backup drive and start your backups anew or replace the drive with a larger drive.
As you can see Time Machine does prune old backups to make space, but eventually it may no longer succeed. Then you will get the alert. You can delete old backups if you wish, but only using the Time Machine application.

  • What items do you delete from backup on time machine to make more space available

What items do you delete from back up on time machine to make more space?

There's no need to do that unless Time Machine has reported a Disk Full alert. In this case you can:
    1. Delete older entries using the Time Machine application to free up sufficient space.
    2. Get a new and larger Time Machine backup drive to replace the old one.
    3. Erase the backup drive and start over.

From your post, I see that you are very new to audio recording on a computer.
I HIGHLY recommend you buy a book on this subject. There are many out there, I suggest this one

  • Audio recording capability

So, why can't I find more about the vpod's audio recording ability? Seems this capability will make it a must have tool for podcasting, news reporting, musicians, etc. Apple seems to barely mention it. Is it for real? How can I plug in my mic? How about battery life while recording? Is it time to give up my minidisc recorder?

From the manual, hope it helps:
    Recording Voice Memos
You can record voice memos using an optional iPod-compatible microphone (available for purchase at www.apple.com/ipodstore). You can store voice memos on your iPod and load them on your computer. You can set iPod to record at “Mono” quality (22 kHz, mono) to save space, or “Stereo” quality (44.1 kHz, stereo) for a better sound.
    To record a voice memo:
1 Connect a microphone to the Dock connector port on your iPod.
2 Set Quality to Mono or Stereo.
3 To begin recording, choose Record.
4 Hold the microphone a few inches from your mouth and speak. To pause recording, select Pause.
5 When you finish, select Stop and Save. Your saved recording is listed by date and time.
