Aaaa help plz! X800 card plz HELP

I keep getting artifacts in 3dmark05, but if I lower the memory speed on my VGA card then they disappear, but later on they come again.. I am now down at 500mhz..  Before I could run 560 without any problems.. What a hell have happen? I have tried to reflash and I have changed Bios on the card.. I am very worried.. Have I destroyed the card somehow?

btw I am not getting any artifacts in 3dmark03
Yea you are going to have to get some good cooper heatsinks on that memory and have a small fan blowing accross them.

  • Aperture, dual monitor, x800 card help

I am adding a 30" monitor to my current 20" monitor for a dual monitor setup. The x800 card has an ADC and a DVI port. I'm assuming only the DVI port is dual channel so I guess the 30" has to go there. My 20 inch is also a DVI hookup, do I just get an ADC to DVI converter?
Also do I slow things down at all now that the card has to control two big monitors? Can the x800 control these two monitors adequately, Aperture taxes the GPU a lot - will this slow down at all?
Also what happens with calibration? I have the GMB Eye-one. Do I calibrate each monitor separately or (if I recall) only calibrate the 30" and let the 20" stay uncalibrated for palettes and such.
    -Thanks

    similar setup here ...
the 30" is on the DVI port and the 23" is on the ADC using a belkin ADC to DVI connector ...
i calibrate using a spyder pro ... when i calibrate, i calibrate one monitor and save the profile with the size in the name - short term memory is very short ... the under displays->arrange i drag the menu bar to the other screen and it makes that the primary and i calibrate it - again with the size thingy ... i then switch the arrangement back and presto chango i have to rearrange most of my desktop icons - haha ... otherwise everythign is fantastic ... just make sure you turn on the monitors and let them warm up for an hour min - 2 is better for the 30" ...
so you leave one uncalibrated if youd like, as you create a profile for each ...
i have seen no slowdown since adding the 30" a few weeks ago ... and i work with 5D (~75%) and 20D RAW files ...

  • IOS SSH AAA help!!

    Hi All,
    I have this config:
aaa authentication login default local line enable
    aaa authorization console
    aaa authorization exec default local
    aaa authorization network default local
    line vty 0 4
    password Gr834!
    transport preferred ssh
    transport input ssh
    transport output ssh
then create username "admin" with privilege 15. But I can't login to SSH with this username and password? I've already generated public key on the router.
any idea would be very appreciated.
    thanks
    Alex

Here is a complete ssh config that doesn't need a hostname or domain name:
crypto key gen rsa gen label SSH_Keys mod 1024
    ip ssh ver 2
    ip ssh authentication-retries 3
    ip ssh time-out 90
    ip ssh source-interface loopback0
    username test secret p@ssw0rd
    enable secret s3cr3tPassw0rd!
    aaa new-model
    aaa authentication login default local
    aaa authentication enable default enable
    line vty 0 4
    transport input ssh
I would recommend AGAINST creating level 15 usernames.

  • AAA help please

I am trying to get a notification via syslog when someone enters configuration changes on a switch.
I am using 12.4 ios with AAA and ACS.
I know that I can see this information under the acs reports but I'd like it in syslog also.
I have tried the following methods:
    1. I have configured the switch to send a syslog trap when a configuration change is made but there is very little inforamtion in it.
A start/stop record time of the configuration change would be good.
    2. I am able to create an exec start/stop record and that gets sent to the syslog.
I do not want this as it shows everytime a user logs onto a device.
    3. I can use ACS to generate a syslog on AAA accounting or administrator but this shows a syslog everytime a users enters a show commands and not just configuation commands.

    Hi,
If everything that you need is to know when a command has been executed you need to have the following commands on the switch.
aaa accounting commands 15 default start-stop group tacacs+
aaa accounting commands 1 default start-stop group tacacs+
You already have aaa accounting commands 15 default start-stop group tacacs+, you are just missing aaa accounting commands 1 default start-stop group tacacs+
Once those commands are apply on the switch you should see the commands on the ACS under tacacs administration. If the commands don't show on the ACS let me know.
What ACS version are you running? If you are running ACS version 4.1.1.23 a upgrade is need it.
If you have any other question do not hesitate to reply back.

  • Any help/ideas for ATI X800 XT

Aloha, I've searched & searched so I'm hoping someone here might have an idea where to get an ATI X800 XT card for my G5. I have heard rumors that they have started making/shipping them again. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Mahalo in advance for any tips. JB

OK, so getting an ATI X800 card looks impossible right now, so can anyone point me towards a different card that would make working with Aperture on my G5 a bit quicker/smoother?
G5 Dual 2.3 GHz PPC with 4GB ram and a (AGP) ATI Radeon 9650 video card.
I really love Aperture and it's capabilities, but it's lag with every tweak on RAW files is becoming frustrating. Mahalo in advance for any assistance. JB

  • Please Can Someone Help Me??????

Please, I've been working on this for a few weeks now, and have had to learn everything pretty much on my own, because no one can seem to give me an answer and help me. No one has even replied to 3 different posts about this subject, so I'm trying it in here.
Here's the situation. I have 2 1760 routers with DSPs, FXO, & FXS cards. They both have the on-board Fa 0/0 interface. I'm tieing two key systems together via VoIP trunks with these routers. I've completed the VoIP programming and it is working as expected. I'm now trying to implement a site-to-site VPN tunnel for these two routers and the VoIP traffic to go through.
I'm not sure if it can be done with just the onboard fa 0/0 interface, and no real LAN behind it. These routers will be on an existing network, however, they will be obtaining(static) a 2nd WAN IP to connect to the outside world only for VoIP traffic between the two.
Please...I'm not Cisco genius and I need some help. I've got probably 20 docs on configuring VPN, but I need some help and questions answered. I'll send my config if anyone needs to look at it.
    Mark

Ah Nick...thank you for responding. Honestly, I don't understand a lot of what your saying. But, maybe seeing my config would help both of us. I honestly don't believe the H323 is being used. I think something more along the lines of a G721 codec or something like that. These are just strictly dial-peers to each other. I've since add ssh access, but here it is:

  • CPU DDR BIOS Help

    Hey There,
I have a quick concern, and I know one of you smart guys(or gals) can assist me!  I have just recently Upgraded, from Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz, to the Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz with 800Mhz Front side bus.  Before I get into my BIOS issue, one side question: What are the Benefits to HTT, and are there any performance Downsides, I should worry about?  Now my real issue, i need help with the Bios Settings.  For the CPU speed, I have it set to 200 Mhz, which from what I have been told will set it 800(200 X 4), but now it keeps My memory Speed at 333mhz.  I use Memory at 400 MHZ, and the only way I can chngd the memory speed, is to chng the CPU speed from 200 mhz to a higher number, which then causes my system to crash aftr entering Windows.  Going from P4 2.4 with 533 FSB to 3.0 with 800FSB has seen a huge chng, but I dont know if i am shortchanging myself by not getting the Memory at 400 MHZ.  Once I install my X800 card today, I dont expect any speed drops with MOST games at full power.  Thats my end goal, so ever little tweak I can do without having to Overclock helps.  If anyone has any opinions about the Geforce 6800 vs. Ati X800 I'd Love to hear those.  I was a fan of The Geforce Ti 4600 line which I have in one system, but when Radeon dropped the 9XXX crds on me, and I got 9700 Pro it chngd my gaming life for Good.  Now I just want whats best.  Thank you very much in advance for any help.  And please reply as many times as you like, i want all advice and opinions...Thanks!
    My System Specs:
    Pentium 4: 3.0Ghz, 800 Mhz FSB, 512KB Cache
    2 512KB sticks of PC3200 DDR400 RAM
Ati Radeon 9700 Pro(I have a ATI X800 in my hnds to be instlld when i leave work)
Creative Labs Audigy 2  w/ Inspire T6600 6.1 Surround Sound
    MSI 875P NEO-FISR
    Windows X Home Edition
    Maxtor 120GB Ultra 133, 7200 RPM

    Hi Lone Wolf 04,
As Danny has said......mixed mem modules will cause in-stability....
Yes, if you have a matched pair of DDR400 you will see difference.....
If you have a matched pair of DDR333, you will see a difference over un-matched pair of DDR400.........
There is the cheap option........2 sticks of same brand mem......BUT, must be same onboard chips...... (Winboard & M-tec not same......)

  • NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra just died - need equivalent for my G5 - HELP

    Hi,
I reviewed the posts but didn't find a simple answer to my mundane (if critical to me!) question:
I have a G5 as outlined below. I upgraded it the very day the 30"monitors were announced and received the:
nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL Card kit
My card died this morning and I need to replace it with a functional equivalent, I know the 6800 is rare which is fine- I just need whatever is available today to get fixed up.
Does anyone know what card I can easily get to do the job?
    Thanks so much.
    My G5
    Model Name: Power Mac G5
    Model Identifier: PowerMac7,3
    Processor Name: PowerPC G5 (3.0)
    Processor Speed: 2.5 GHz
    Number Of CPUs: 2
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB

Alot depends on whether you ever have a second monitor hooked up.
There is a better, faster card than a 6800 for G5s called a 7800GS, but it only has 1 @ DVI port, and one VGA port. The DVI port can run a 30" just fine however. (Means it supports "Dual Link") These are all flashed PC cards....but the ROM is quite stable and they are GREAT cards.
If you need to run 2 @ 30" DVI monitors than you will need to find a Mac 6800 on EBay. It HAS to be an original Mac one, the "flashed" PC ones NEVER have Dual Link capability.
Another option would be a Max X800 XT...it has a DVI port good for a 30" and an ADC port which is only useful for an older Mac ADC monitor...but it can be converted to DVI with a relatively cheap adapter. These cards are super rare but occasionaly show up on Ebay. There are flashed X800s but most are VGA only...the DUal Link DVI ones are ULTRA rare.
No Radeon 9800 ever had Dual Link, so don't waste any time looking at those.
There is a retail option though I am not certain they are available anymore...the Radeon 9600 Mac and PC edition....has to be that one as most Mac 9600s didn't run Dual Link. These cards worked in Mac or PC and had 256 Megs of RAM. Sadly, they are MUCH slower than a 6800.
I can't stress enough that you need to find a card with Dual Link capability to run a 30". Otherwise you will end up looking at your 30" at 1280x800 instead of 2560x1600.
Try BruinMacs on Ebay, college kid who helped write the 7800GS ROM, now selling them for less than everyone else. He sometimes even has the X800 with Dual Link too, ask him.
Sadly, you will find that the official Mac 6800 and X800 cards still fetch $400 or so...the old "Supply & Demand" rule being hard to avoid. If you can find one on a local Craigslist ad, grab it up !!! (after testing)

  • Newbie Needs Help Please - VoIP and VPN

    Hello,
I have a question about some voip/vpn configuration. I've got two sites that have 1760 routers with fxo/fxs cards that are going to be tieing the two phone systems together with a couple of voip trunks. These are secondary devices on the network with no data traffic or real LAN even, but addressed with a 2nd wan ip on the fa 0/0 port. The only traffic going through these routers is voice/voip.
My question is about this voip setup with vpn. First off, should I or shouldn't I, or even can I? If I configure a site-to-site vpn connection, will the voip traffic pass over that? How would I set up a VPN tunnel for only the fxo/fxs cards with no "LAN" behind it? Is there a need to have a vpn? Any benefits to sending the voip data across vpn, other than the obvious encryption of the "call"?
The thing is, I've only setup a VPN with Cisco a few couple of times, and once was from a pre-configured script I found and the other was from some software called SDM. I've only known about setting up VPN's for connecting the LAN behind router A to the LAN behind router B. This setup has NO LAN. The only interfaces are the fa 0/0 (getting static wan ip), and the fxo and fxs cards handling the voice. I have no clue on how to configure a site-to-site VPN for this, or if I even can, or if I should.
The next two replies will have my voip configuration as it sits on the bench in testing; I have both fa 0/0 interfaces connected to the local LAN just for a connection and testing, but each will later be getting it's own static WAN IP on the fa 0/0 interfaces:

  • [SOLVED]Laptop Internal SD card reader no longer working

Two weeks ago I purchased a Raspberry Pi and set up my own SD card with Arch Linux ARM using the directions at http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6/raspberry-pi with the internal SD card reader on my laptop and had no issues.  Today I decided to load up a XBMC distro to a new SD card, but my internal card reader doesn't seem to autodetect or mount my new card.  I tried inserting my other card with Arch ARM that I know is a good card, but it no longer works with that card either.  Here are all my logs that I could think of to post for any advice:

  • MSI KT4V and Radeon X800 Pro...

    Hi all!
I have a question regarding my MSI KT4V MoBo. Does anybody have any experience installing a Radeon X800 card in such a MoBo?
I have read earlier that there was a size problem with the 9800 pro series.
Apparently it is so big that it touches the ram slots!?
The X800 is smaller though so it may not be a problem.
    Any help will be appreciated
    Best Regards
    Basse

I don't see how it would touch the RAM slots, it might just be a problem when you need to remove RAM that you need to remove the card first so you can pull back the RAM clips.

  • Have X-Fi Xtreme Music card work

I guess I can say that I'm one of those that has an X-Fi Xtreme Music card working in their system, except for a stuttering effect that happens after a couple of hours of listening to music or gaming. Have discovered that the suttering effect is related to ATI's Catalyst drivers when running Crossfire, of which I installed Catalyst 6.3, which helps reduce the stuttering effect. Next part of this, is my motherboard needs a bios update, which I'm sure ASUS is working on. I don't get no popping or crackling, when gaming or listening to music. Here's the setup, I have my Xtreme Music X-Fi working on, and it isn't an NFORCE 4 motherboard, but an RD480 Crossfire motherboard. My X-Fi Xtreme Music card doesn't even have a heatsink on it, nor did I look at the revision number if any, as my card works. I'm liking this card, been gaming and listening to music I've downloaded legally of course.

    Hi Sonic,
    In response to your mention,

I'm not sure, but I think it has a different coloured version of what you were refering to. I'll see if I have a closer closeup picture somewhere in my pictures, however that's the first one I found.
Maybe this will let me plug my front ports into it.
    Thanks for the idea though.

    *Edit*
Here's the closeup picture after scouring my computer for the pic. I took 00 one day, but trying to get a good one of the model ### etc, so I could get help from the creative e-mail support, hehe, took 00 pic's to finally get an angle without the flash screwin it up. Anyways here it is.

I think that's compatible but what do I stick into it's etc? Thanks!Message Edited by Le_Loup on 0-24-2006 09:53 PM

  • A dual 2 GHz M9032LL/A G5 needs a new graphics card

I have a ATI Radeon 9600 Pro card (ROM revision 113-A13601- 126) in there now, but the card is failing. There's a temperature sensitive element and I need to put a blow dryer on the graphics card to wake it up. After it's up it runs fine, but dealing with it is a pain.
I can't find new Radeon 9600 pro cards. Is there a replacement?
    Regards,
    Ty Ford

    Ty,
Your G5 uses an 8x AGP slot and OWC has ATI Radeon 9600 and X800 cards available.
But, you might also consider checking eBay for flashed PC AGP cards.
And if you are interested in flashed PC cards, check out The Mac Elite forum and Wiki.

  • Good cards for flashing from PC to Mac

I know that Radeon 9800 PRO has relatively good success rate but are there any other models which usually work? What models have you flashed successfully (manufacturer etc.)?

    Hi-
    Flash on a Mac?
    Only Radeon cards.
Flash on a PC, any Radeon or Geforce card that has a ROM available or similar enough to be modded.
Radeon 9800 XT cards flash pretty well, but only give analog with the XT ROM.
Use a Pro ROM, reclock, and you have full functionality.
Radeon X800 cards, with the exception of the FireGL all only allow analog out when flashed.
The FireGL give digital through both DVI ports.
Geforce 6800 GT and Ultra cards are excellent cards, and are successfully flashed.
I have a POV and an Inno3D that work great.
Geforce 7800 GS cards all work if they have a 5.70xxx BIOS. 5.71xxx don't work.

  • Ati Radeon 9600 Pro to Ati Radeon X800 XT Upgrade?

I am a videographer on a G5 2ghz with Apple Cinema Display and the Ait 9600 Pro card. I ordered Final Cut Studio 2 and have upgraded my equipment to HDV from SD.
I am not sure about how much performance gain is to be had when upgrading video cards. Is it worth it between the 2 I mentioned. It says I have an AGP bus in my system profiler, so I assume I can only use the X800 card.
Performance for color-correction, encoding, and rendering is important to me, so I was wondering if anybody could explain what kind of gains I would see. I don't understand how the specs would translate efficiency-wise.
Here are the specs for each card:
    9600: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/469250-REG/ATITechnologies_100435065_Radeon_9600_Pro256MB.html
    X800 XT: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&kw=ATRX800XTM&is=REG&Q =&O=productlist&sku=469237

I have had the X800 for over a year now and have been loving it.
You will notice the most increase in Motion. The more GPU you can give FCP the better it will run.
    Enjoy
