Aaaarrrrrggghhh!

Question

We took our PowerBook G4 on vacation with us, I downloaded pictures of my grandson's birthday party on it. I then in my spare time made an I movie project (imovie HD ver 6.0.3) of them, knowing full well that my laptop could not burn a dvd, but confident upon our return via our trusty network, I could import & burn the dvd with our desktop (iMac G5 with imovie 08 ver 7.1.4) after a simple import. Not so much..... not only via the network, but I drug the project onto the desktop of the G5, and it still will not recognize the movie as a movie. But it will load & play in the laptop. I wouldn't even attempt this if the situation were reversed, going newer version to older, but this? Is there a setting that needs to be performed that I've missed? All of the sharing is on as far as I can tell. and I don't get shut down when trying to import, it just wont acknowledge it as a viable file to import. Sorry so long winded!

I guess I should have addressed that first, that indeed was my immediate attempt to simply burn the project from the idvd app on our desktop. That is the first place where the imovie file wouldn't recognize on my desktop. It was from there, where I thought certainly an imovie file from an older version of imovie would transfer without complication. In desperation, and as a whit flag in submission, I've been browsing ebay to locate a external burner for my laptop.
