AAC VBR - How do you identify files so encoded?
I have been encoding my CDs to AAC for the last few months. I did some research and thought AAC was VBR. Now I read AAC is not so defaulted, and you can get higher quality files, only slightly larger, by choosing AAC VBR option. Great. So I've been encoding using VBR for the last few days.
I went to do a search to see which files have been encoded using VBR, with the idea of re-encoding some of my CDs with VBR. Problem is, I don't see a way to identify such files.
Is there a straighforward way? Is there a backended way?
It would seem amazing to me that after doing my whole collection, there would be no way to tell the files apart!

NOT ANSWERED YET.
Angela/Deb--
Appreciate the replies, but neither one solves the issue.
The "bitrate" is shown as the same whether set to "normal" or VBR.
The "kind" is shown the same whether set to "normal" or VBR.
Nothing I see indicates the difference between files set to VBR AAC and those that are plain AAC.
I can't imagine that there isn't an invisible flag somewhere in there, but I need a way to find it, as apparently Apple hasn't made it an easily visible parameter.

Authorize your new computer's iTunes first - Store>Authorize this computer.
1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

How do you drop files into storage, and how do others find your public storage so they can download files you have put into iCloud?
iCloud does not provide general file storage, nor a Public Folder, in the manner of the MobileMe iDisk. You will need to find a third-party alternative - this page examines some options:

How do you disable "FILE IN USE" pop-ups so you can actually edit and delete PDFs?!
I continue to have a pop saying that either the file in open somewhere in the serve- which it is not- and I cannot delete a particular pdf or edit it.
It's incredibly frustrating and in the end I end up having four files with different names because it won't let me edit the original file!!!!Hi Amila1,
Are the pdfs stored on a network location?
If so is the Preview pane turned ON?
Please check the doc: http://kb.globalscape.com/KnowledgebaseArticle10862.aspx

how do you send file attachments (Particularly jpegs) so that receiver gets as a file not as an open embedded photograph?
This sends the attachment as an icon, not embedded inline. Copy/Paste into Terminal in Utilities and hit return.
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 1
To reverse the setting, change the 1 to a 0.
But how it will be viewed will all depend on the e-mail client and settings of the recipient. Not under your control.
