AAMEE 3.1 deploying Adobe Drive 5

Hello
The documentation for Adobe Drive 5.0 says to use AAMEE 3.1 for deployment however when i try i get a valid installer could not be found.
I have the Adobe Drive 5.0 dmg mounted.
This worked fine for Adobe Drive 4
Any ideas?

This doesn't work on OSX 10.7 10.8 and 10.9 for Adobe Drive 5 using aamee 3.1. I also get the message a valid installer could not be found. It worked fine on my Windows 7x64 machine.

I just noticed that when i run the Adobe Drive 5 installer it wants to install adobe drive at the following location
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Drive 4
So i looked at the AdobeDrive5-mul.install.xml contents

It installs just fine when running outside AAMEE and i don't think the install location matters but just wanted to point it out as this is the only discrepancy i could find.

Is there an enterprise installer for Adobe Drive?

OK, I may have missed it but I need to rollout to a number of users simultaneously.
As with other Adobe products is there some form of Enterprise package creation/installer?

There is supposed to be a Windows Enterprise Installer, you can follow the installation instructions here http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AdobeDrive/4.2/Adobe_Drive_Admin_Guide.pdf
However, I am getting stuck and need some help.
I have used AAMEE 3.1 to create a package for AD 4.0.0
As stated above when I first ran the MSI file that was created bu AAMEE 3.1 I encountered the following error
WARNING: DW039: Payload {C3BC3DF1-83AB-4808-A672-474E15340D4B} Adobe Drive 4 4.0.0.0 is not installed so should not be there in the deployment file
After reading through the logs I found the entries
C:\Users\username\Desktop\Adobe Drive 4.0\Build\\Setup\runtime\adobe_caps.dll
Caps Library path doesn't exist
Caps Library load Failed or Function Resolving failed
Custom action return code: 65535
There was no "runtime" folder underneath the Setup folder. I looked at the original installer and located the "runtime" folder and copied it to the Setup folder as Laurel mentions above.
I am now seeing this error as the first error in the logs when I run the AAMEE msi file, then it rolls back.

I have run the Adobe Support Adviser on the log file and I get nspection could not identify any issues.
I have full CS6 Web and Design Premium installed on the computer.
I have tried he same process with Adobe Drive 4.0 and Adobe Drive 4.2 and get the same errors.
Can anyone help, I have a deadline of Friday to have Adobe Drive deployed within our environment......

When will the SDK and documentation be available?
I just went to grab the drive 3 sdk when I noticed that there is a Drive 4 now. I can't tell which versions of Creative Suite are compatable. Will CS6 work with adobe drive 3? And I can't tell if my plugin that I started will work in Drive4.

Deploying Adobe Extension Manager and Toolkit for CreateJS

Has anyone tried deploying Adobe Extension Manager and/or Toolkit for CreateJS through Group Policy. Any tips for gettig it to work?

We haven't tried to deploy Extension Manager through Group Policy. Maybe you can consider Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition (AAMEE): http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html .

Going to answer my own question. Its long, and im not sorry as it took me over an hour to work it out and test!
So my scenario is I am creating a disk image to deploy to my end users (over 50), I have a Volume Licence key, however installing Technical Communications Suite 5 will not install until I have logged into my adobe account which will cache my details in the image and we dont want that.
So... I have found a link to silently installing Technical Communications Suite 3 (close enough? - Yes!).
There are several things to do which with a little more work can be deployed with GPO etc...
Copy the media to somewhere, we will assume c:\TCS5
I have the following folders and files in this folder -
*deploy
*packages
*payloads
*resources
*Set-up.exe
Copy the correct language file .xml from "deploy" for me this is "Install_en_US.xml" and drop it in "c:\TCS5" for no real reason other than it makes it easier for me.
Edit this file (i used notepad++) to only include the products you want to install. i.e. Acrobat only from the TCS suite.

Create a file named "application.xml.override" in c:\TCS5 which should include the following information, you will need to enter two values yourself:
PRODUCT SERIAL NUMBER WITHOUT DASHES - This is fairly obvious and is your TCS5 product code
PAYLOAD CODE - To get this code open the setup.xml file on the media c:\TCS5\payloads\setup.xml, copy the product code between <mediaSignature> and </mediaSignature> Example: <Configuration><Payload adobeCode="{DE60F0DE-469A-42DC-A678-978313210057}">.
The rest is pretty obvious:
Registration - Do you want end users to register?
Updates - Do you want the product to self update?
EULA - Not interested as I have already read it

Now you have you install language file, your override file and you set-up.exe file in c:\TCS5. Lets install... Now the guide wont tell you all the paths need to be absolute, not from where you are running the command from.
c:\TCS5\Set-up.exe --mode=silent --deploymentFile=c:\TCS5\Install_en_US.xml --action=install --c:\TCS5\overrideFile=application.xml.override
Tada! It should install. (the default action is install so you can omit --action=install this was also spelt wrong in the snippets I found so go careful)
If you get issues the install logging is pretty good, they can be found here : “\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\” (also could be Program Files without the (x86) on your system.
If you get error 16, your file names or paths are probably wrong, error code 19? close any conflicting apps the log file will tell you whats causing the holdup.
You can uninstall with the same procedure just swap out the language install xml file to the uninstall xml file.
So there it is, if you have a better way or AAMEE 3.2 is released, drop me a PM so at least I can then slipstream the updates in... Thats the next job...

Planning an Adobe Drive & CS6 Installation

I have been assigned to plan and install a CS3 (inc Version Cue) to CS6 migration.
The Creative Suite side of things I have a handle on. So Far So Good.
What I am in the dark on is the Asset Management side of things. I gather Version Cue is a thing of the past and Adobe Drive is the current source/content management application. What I can't find is any detailed planning and deployment documentation. I have found heaps of marketing fluff, but nothing that will help me work out what infrastructure I need.
I am looking for deployemnt design ideas and integration information to plan the back end - that is servers, NAS, network, DR that sort of information.
This is a small deployment with only 3 or 4 creatives but managing the content and centralising the day to day and archive storage is very important (for back up and DR purposes).
Any idea where I need to look to find the info? Thanks

Adobe Drive 2.1 was the last release of Adobe Drive that supported working with Version Cue. With the release of Adobe Drive 3 in August 2011, the Version Cue CS4 Connector and the Version Cue Migration Tool were removed from the product. The latest release of Adobe Drive is version 4 which is designed to work with CS6 products. As you gathered, Adobe announced Version Cue end-of-life with the release of Creative Suite 5 and is no longer supported.
We suggest that customers in this situation (needing to migrate from Version Cue) identify an asset management system to work with going forward; either from Adobe (Adobe CQ DAM) or a number of outside vendors.
To ensure its clear, Adobe Drive is an application that allows one to connect the following CS applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Bridge & InCopy) to a DAM system. Having an Adobe Drive integration provides full access to content on a DAM system from the Explorer or Finder and includes the ability to check in, check out, add check in comments, compare versions and more from directly within the supported CS applications.
In addition to Adobe Drive, to fully enable the connection to a DAM server, one needs an Adobe Drive plug-in (what we call connectors) to interface with the DAM system. We include a generic CMIS compliant connector that will work with servers that implement the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) specification and we also include a connector that is design to work with Adobe's CQ DAM. There are also custom connectors available from third-party vendors that are designed to work with their DAM system.

How do you deploy adobe acrobat xi from creative cloud for enterprise?

We purchased Creative Cloud Enterprise and our new supervisor wants adobe acrobat on all computers. I downloaded the package through Creative Cloud and used the customization wizard to customize the msi in the exceptions folder just like the instructions said. I followed the steps and deployed it out using Dell Kace. When a user tries to open Acrobat, it tells them they have a trial version and they must register the product. The instructions for the customization wizard said not to put the creative cloud serial number into the customization tool. Is there something I'm missing with deploying adobe acrobat and creative cloud?

I'm not a CC expert, but I think normally admins configure Acrobat and then deploy everything via the Creative Cloud Packager. Acrobat certainly needs to be licensed, so when you only have a CC license, it's best to deploy in a standard way so that Acrobat get serialized with the license you have.

Deploy Adobe Creative Cloud Enterprise

Anyone deploying Adobe CC ENT in a Windows environment have a script to share that will deploy the exceptions and the build file correctly? I'm using Win7 clients and Server 2008 R2 GPO to deploy.
I have a deploy.bat file in the Adobe Creative Cloud\Exceptions directory with the following script. I realize this isn't correct, but am I somewhat close? What do I need to add or change to this process to get this deployed? School starts in a couple weeks and I need this deployed to 200 machines.

Photoshop CS6 not allowing Check In with Adobe Drive 4.2 & AEM 5.6 DAM

I have just started to set up a AEM DAM for my design team to utilize. While it worked exactly as expected on one team member's computer, I am having some problems. I can only check items in or out through Bridge CS6. With both PS and Illustrator the "Check In" menu item is greyed out. Also, when I open a file in PS from the DAM, it doesn't automatically check the item. I've seen it work fine on a cowokers computer with a seemly similar setup. Any ideas?

CQ 5.5 and AEM 5.6 (same thing on both)

In order for the Check In menu item to appear in the supported CS apps., the asset must be opened and a change must be made (it will then automatically be checked out).

Possibly dumb question but are your installers built for the appropriate architecture (32-, 64-bit)? Adobe is pretty picky about that with CC.

Is Adobe Drive being retired & replaced?

We are working through an implementation of AEM Assets in a cloud-based environment with Adobe managed services (Amazon hosting). Our Adobe implementation team is having problems getting Adobe Drive to work in the hosted model. They recently told us that Adobe Drive is going to be retired and replaced with a Companion app.
Is anybody else successfully using Adobe Drive in the Amazon hosted model?
Is anybody else using Companion? How does it compare feature-wise?

Can't Print from Freehand via Adobe Driver

For no obvious reason I can no longer print from Freehand to pdf using the Adobe driver.
I'm using Freehand 11.0.1 on Windows 7 (64-bit). Our team has the same problem on Windows XP with Freehand 11.0.1, and Windows 7 (32-bit) with Freehand 11.0.2. All of the above stopped working this week. We still can print to pdf using Cute PDF. But we really would like to get back to using Adobe which gives us more control over the output generated.

The problem does not occur using the same Adobe print driver with MS Word, PowerPoint, or Adobe Illustrator CS6.

Did you update your Acrobat/Distiller application before it stopped working? My first thought was that something was changed last week to have this happen and to go back and recreate what that might have been. Sounds like an Adobe update.

How to find mounted path of Adobe Drive?

I want to find out mounted path(on mac) of Adobe Drive 4 on client machine from inside of my plugin code and want to write it to some properties file. I am not able to find any API to do this.

Under Windows 8.1, Adobe Drive crashes on File- Check In... when invoked from an Adobe creative application.

I am testing my drive connector on Windows 8.1 (64-bit) using Adobe Drive (5.0.2) with Photoshop CC (15.1.0.148) and Bridge CC (6.1.0.116), and I find that if I use File->Check In... from the creative apps (I checked InDesign too), the application crashes inside of AdobeDriveUI.dll. The crash happens as it attempts to display the dialog that solicits a Check In comment.
I have tried using both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version of Adobe Drive, but both exhibit the same issue. I am quite certain that my connector is not involved, as the crash happens in native code that collects the version comment *before* my ICheckInHandler instance gets called.
I am interested in any insight or work-arounds that might exist. Thanks for any help!

I performed steps provided by you , but it did not help.
on other hand, i have collected some more data regarding
this issue.
1. went to SAFE Mode and tried to run the application from USB
2. got Exception "The instruction at 0x00407038 referenced memory at 0x00000078. The memory could not be read"
some more info on setup :
we have a micro controller on board, some part of memory (present on board) is used to keep application and server. we can open this memory via USB connection to PC. then we can see all files present at this memory on PC (behaves like externally connected
USB Drive) .
When we start this application . it will start the server . server will send 'request file' to controller soft. (this part is working fine), and controller will send back response , as soon as response file(RSP.txt) will appear in USB drive it will get corrupted
.(here RSP.txt file is present in controller USB decided memory but to open this we are using PC RAM). crashing of RSP.txt file will crash whole application. This RSP File is of FAT Type.
i have copied application in another external drive and tried to RUN application. it will not crash . but USB can not receive the "RSP.txt" (as it is not in communication with controller soft). and problem is in response file.

Editing and sharing custom metadata/keywords through Adobe Drive in Adobe Bridge

I am part of a four-person video production unit operating within a local governmental entity. We are currently using four licenses of Adobe Master Collection CS5, and are about to get access to dedicated SAN storage.
We would like each user to have the ability to assign specific keywords to any given video clip (or remove keywords from clips) within Adobe Bridge, and have the three other users see the same results. I've noticed that Bridge alone will allow for keywords to be added or removed, but this list is specific to each user. Importing one list into other users' profiles is a start, but would no longer work, once keywords are added or taken away.
The overview page for Adobe Drive 3 says that it, "allows users to edit and view custom metadata/properties through Adobe Drive in Adobe Bridge," but I haven't found any explanation in either the website, forums, or user's guides that delves any farther into this area. If we incorporate Adobe Drive/Bridge into our workflow, will we be able to share/sync keywords between users? Is there some other (affordable) solution that would let us do this?

Thanks for sharing your case.
The keywords you mentioned is XMP metadata, if all your digital assets are managed by ADEP CQ DAM service, you can use AD3 with built-in ADEP connector to communicate with the DAM server, then, I think it can meet your requirement, it means, the keywords can be set by one user through metadata panel in Bridge, and can be viewed by other users.
for custom properites, it's different from XMP metadata, it refers to the properties of one asset which is managed by a Content Management service. users have to use another UI to edit/view them in Br after AD3 is installed.
here are some requirements to use it.
1) CMIS 1.0 compiliant server should be used to manage all your digital assets
2) use the built-in CMIS with AD3 to connect to the server.
if other kind of servers are used, you should develope a custom connector through AD SDK to enable custom properties feature as well as some other handler required by AD SDK
