AASP will not honour Macbook Battery Warranty Extension

I need help in convincing a stubborn AASP in Thailand that Apple has extended the Macbook Battery warranty by two years as per this page:

My Macbook was purchased in June 2006 in the USA and is in the affected batch.
I installed the battery update about two months ago, and then started having problems.
First when running the Macbook on battery, it would shut down without warning when the charge got to around 20%.
Then the charge would last only about 90 minutes or so, and battery health was down to 50% at 250 cycles - a symptom described by Apple on their battery update page at;

Im now living in Bhutan and the nearest AASP is in Bangkok, Thailand. So I sent the macbook with a friend to Macintosh Center (www.maccenter.co.th) in Bangkok.
They found a problem with the battery and said it need to be replaced. However they said that it would cost Bhat 7,383 (around US$185) to get a new battery as the Macbook's battery warranty is only one year.
According to Apple's Battery Update announcement, my macbook is still under the extended two year warranty. And if the AASP finds that the battery needs to be replaced (which they did), it should be done so free of charge.
We tried telling them about the extension of the Macbook Battery warranty to two years by Apple and sent them the link (via email) and also informed them in person.
However, Macintosh Center keeps insisting the Warranty is only one year.
I tried emailing their service email address and after while
all the other email addresses on their websites. No response at all after three emails.
Help! Any suggestions?
Im getting quite fed up with this macbook. First, the yellow palm rest, then cracking bezel, and then super drive had to be changed twice (These were taken care of while i was in the US).
Some months ago, the same Maccenter also changed a burnt out and fraying power cord and also changed a stuck super drive. But now they seem quite stubborn with the battery warranty.

I am not an applecare customer and they replaced mine. It clearly states the warranty is extended an extra year. Call again and talk to them again. If they don't help ask to speak to their supervisor. If that doesn't work contact

Try booting in Safe Mode by holding your Shift key down when booting. Also, try holding the eject key down when booting to eject the DVD. If you plug a mouse in and hold the clicker down when booting, that should eject the DVD.

check the battery info.. >about this mac>more info>system report and select "power" on the lefthand column. How many cycles? What does it say about the condition? etc.

Help, My thinkpad Edge will not recognize my battery

I updated the BIOS on my thinkpad E430. After that the operating system gives me a notice that the battery in my laptop is not a Lenovo product and that it will not charge the battery. The only way I could charge the battery is if I take it out after turning off my computer . I turn it back on and I don't get the notice. I don't want to be taking out my battery everytime I turn on the computer. And I don't want to keep my computer in sleep mode just to avoid the notice.
Do you get it? Somehow the battery is communicating with the computer. I bought the battery with the laptop so it is a Lenovo product. I called Lenovo Partners to fix my computer and it's expensive because my warranty expired. One guy suggested that I reverse the update of the BIOS , but I can't find any previous versions of the Lenovo thinkpad E430 Bios on the Lenovo website. My BIOS is 2.54 . Do you know what the previous versions are? Do you know where I can find them on the Lenovo website? How would you fix this problem?

My home button on my ipod touch is not working but Apple will not honor the limited warranty because the corner glass is craked. I have been using it cracked for months. What is my legal recourse. I think it is unfair!!!!!!

If you think you're insane now, try maintaining those pop up menus.
As far as I know, these menus have not been updated since FW 8, so
they are at least two versions old.
Save yourself a lot of grief by avoiding those menus. There are many
other products on the market which do a much better job of creating
and maintaining this type of navigation structure.

There was another blog post by the fellow who originally wrote the pop
up menu feature, but I can't seem to locate it. Even he says stay away
from them.

Mac Book Pro will not start on Battery Power although battery at 98% need to connect charger. When started date and time incorrect, comes up as 1st Jan 2012.

What is the exact model of your MBP? The date change often is an indication of power loss to the MBP, such as disconnecting the battery.
If the SMC reset does not solve the situation, post this from your MBP:
Make certain that the power adapter is connected.

This is what that error means:

Download and launch BatChmod. Put the videos into a subfolder and drag that folder containing the video files into the Batchmod window. Make sure you are the owner and have R,W, X access as well as the group. Everyone will have R only.
Check the Change ownership and privileges, Unlock and Apply to enclosed boxes and then click on the Apply button. When done try importing the files again.

go to your desktop, look for 'Macintosh HD' icon
[double click]
window opens.
look for 'system'
[double click]
double click on 'Library'
look for 'Frameworks'
click on drop down grey arrow.
double click on 'versions'
double click on 'A'
double click on 'resources'
you will find 'WIDGET SIMULATOR' in there
double click on it.
NEXT,
Go to Application/Preview, then right clicking on Preview and selecting "Show Package Contents." Then go to Contents/Plugins/Markup.
drag that icon into the opened 'widget simulator' program.
VOILA!

Inspect the charging port area for dirt/debris/fluff build-up that may be preventing a good connection and use a wooden toothpick, soft clean toothbrush, or a can of compressed air to clean it. Also look for bent or broken pins. Try another cable and/or charger block (be sure to always use a genuine Apple certified brand) in a known good outlet. If you're using a USB port, try another port. If you're using a hub, try a direct connection. If you're using a USB port in the front of a desktop computer, try one in the back. If all these fail, make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar to have the device evaluated.

Apple will not replace my battery

I just got off the phone with apple support and they are telling me that they will not replace my battery. i have only 147 cycles on it and it will go from 100% charged to dead in 2 mins or so. the thing is. i can have 100% and then unplug it and it will turn off shortly after but when i plug it back in and boot it back up it says my battery is at like 96%. why does it shut off at 96% and refuse to turn back on. I dont understand. Apple will not replace this battery because its not in the recall and and not in anomaly category. So honestly what do they think im trying to pull here.

yeah thats what im saying my battery does fit this criteria, on the site they specify no model numbers nor do they say what serial numbers are subject to replacement, implying any battery that has X symptoms is eligible for replacement. ya know ? The site says:
Battery exhibits low charge capacity/runtime when using a fully charged battery with a battery cycle count (as shown in System Profiler) of less than 300.
And thats exactly what my battery is doing. I guess if i go to the nearest apple store and have a apple genius look at this and agree with me they will go around the warrantee and get me a new battery anyway. thing is, the nearest apple store is like 5 hrs away and ugh.... ya know ?

I usually just keep my MacBook pro sleep. The lasting I try to use it, it won't come unswept. I tried force quitting. The battery is fully charged as per the lights on the backs of the battery. Nwhen I push the power button, the sleep light comes Alan briefly, but machine Willa not about. I have Mountain Lion, and ahead no difficulties after it was a installed. My amacbook pro is ablate 2008 vintage.

I have this same problem. Went over all of the self help that was recommended then after researching a bit more I have found out that our model and year MacBook Pro has a faulty logic board. Talked to an Apple rep and he told me to take it to my nearest Apple store (which thank goodness) I have one here. And hopefully they should be able to do a claim for me.

TS3499 macbook recognises but will not charge new battery

I was advised to buy a new charger last week and have just been advised by an apple employee to buy a new battery for my MacBook 2009 and i am having the same issue as my old battery.
The Mac reconognises the battery but will not charge or run off the battery.
Just spent £150 in total on new charger and battery but still having the same problem as before.
I have downloaded the firmware update but my Mac is already running the latest software.

Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
Remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Newer Mac portables with a battery you don't remove
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

Macbook pro 5,3 will not charge the battery

the 85w charger will not charge my macbook battery, the indicator turns orange indicating that its charging, but the battery charge level does not increase. either its the charger or its the battery not accepting a chare.
is there any way to distinguished between what one it is other than purchasing a new charger?
