AB Type Documents

Can we post AB type documents using 'FBS1' or 'FB01'. Is there any T-code which allows to post AB type documents.

I feel we need some clarity here - the document type is configurable, and therefore "AB" may not be the same at every site. Also, what are you wanting the FI document you are posting to actually do - just a simple DR & CR to GL accounts, or an intercompany journal, or a mixed vendor / customer clearing? Typically the choice of transaction, not document type per se, will be more important... plus your site may have non-system business rules that drives the document type you should select e.g. "YA" might be used for customer refunds at Site 1, and "YA" might be used for an interface journal at Site 2 ... check with the functional / business team.

Why do I not get the checkout option for a pdf type document when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task?

We are trying to use workflows to review and edit pdf files in sharepoint 2010. We are having a couple of issues and am hoping someone has the answer.....
1) When myself and coworkers click on the pdf document in the library, we get the check out option as expected. However when we click on the document
link in a workflow task (on the sharepoint site), the pdf opens as a temporary file and we do not get the check out option. Why does this happen?????
2) The same thing happens when we click on the document link in the workflow task email; HOWEVER, one of our co-workers does get the
check out option when clicking on the link in the email task. Why would she get the checkout option using the email and not when clicking on the link in the task list on the sharepoint site ???? We have compared our internet settings and adobe
settings to ours and found no differences.
We are using Sharepoint 2010, Windows 7, IE8, Adobe Reader X or XI. Some of us have Adobe Pro X and have the same issues.

According to your post, my understanding is that you could not get the checkout option for a pdf type document when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task.
I try to reproduce the issue, however, no matter when I click the pdf type document in the library or click on the pdf document link in the workflow task email, it download the pdf doucment and then I can open it.
It will be better if you can descript how you
get the check out option as expected when you click on the pdf document in the library.
Then I upload a
word type document to the library, no matter when I click the word type document in the library or click on the word document link in the workflow task email, I can open the word document directly and get the check out option as expected.
I recommend to use the other type docuemts to check whether the check out option works.

Content type "Link to a Document" to content type Document SET

Hello,
Could you please assist.
I have a customized document sets.
I added the content type "Link to a Document” to content type Document SET.
I uploaded several documents to each document set. There are several identical documents in different document sets.
How can I arrange for uploading just a link to the documents, but not the additional documents?
In other words, how to arrange for convenience for users to download a link?
I mean them not to enter
http://server/files ,
but a certain “dropdown” appeared, a kind of menu with a choice of downloaded documents.
Suppose, I added to each file its own attribute link and this link. I want to present in form of creation “Link to a Document”
There are 2 forms of creation. The first one is where we point a link. The second one is where we point the attributes.
For example:
I have two document sets: Project 1 and Project 2.
There are 2 documents “instruction.doc” and “invoice.xls” uploaded to Project 1. Each document has a field – link (a link to this very document).
I want to add a link to “invoice.xls” in Project 2.
I want to do it in that way a user could choose a list of links from a dropdown menu.

Lookup column is the attribute of file. Attribute can not be upload! . Did you try to use the content type of link to document? If yes, you can understand my question. I want to change uploaded.aspx ( link of document) and add lookup column to this form.

How to use xsl in the veriable (of type Document packorg.w3c.dom)?

I have xml document in the variable of type Document from the package "org.w3c.dom". I want to use xsl to this xml document to format it.
I am trying to do something like this:

Data type 'Document' in Lifecycle Forms

Hi all,
i'd like to handle PDFs in Lifecycle ES. So I use data type 'Document' for input variable. To call my LC service I use once FLEX and JavaScript.
Does anybody know how I can initiate my Lifecycle-PDF-variable of type 'Document' from FLEX (ActionScript) or JavaScript?
I'm quite new to this topic, so please help me.

I would be very careful about changing any of the tables as it is probably not supported, I would discuss it with Oracle first to see what there view on it is.

UDO type Document, Add lines

Hi All,
I have a problem with a User Defined Object of type Document/Document Lines.
I have a custom form for the UDO. I can add new Documents with one or more Document Lines. These are stored in the database as expected, both Father table and Child table is updated. I can also update existing entries through the UDO, but I can NOT add new Document Lines to an existing Document.
I can add the lines in the matrix of the form, but they are not written to the Child table when I press Update. There is no error messages or anything, the new lines are just not written.
Any suggestions?

When you add a line to the matrix did you increase the size of the datasource as well?
A sample of code to add line:
dbMOR1.InsertRecord dbMOR1.Size
dbMOR1.Offset = dbMOR1.Size - 1
m_oMatrix.AddRow 1
(dbMOR1 is the satasource of the child table that is bound to the matrix columns).

Linking the UDO of type document to user defined field

I created the user defined field and i need to link the UDO of type document to that user defined field. How to link the UDO to user defined field.

do you mean to add a user defined field to an document type UDO? if this is the case,
1. create the UDT
2. go to Tools-> customization tools->User Defined Fields-Management, expand User Tables, add the udf to the UDT
3. register the UDT as UDO.

OUTPUT type document archiving is failing

Hi,
We are generating the OUTPUT type documents for billing invoices. For one of the output type the documents are not storing to content server.
tRFC request is generating but it is failing with the below error
SAP ArchiveLink: Obj. type not assigned to storage syst.(Customizing)
I have checked the configuration settings. NACE,OAC0,OAC3,V/33 etc... Everything looks fine
Documents were generating and storing to Filenet for other Output types. Only having the problem with one output type.

It is already maintained. with Print and Archive
Output staus is showing as green, but the document is not storing to Filenet. Even not able to see in attachment list.
tRFC is failing as below
find the root cause as the TOA_DARA details are not updating for AR_OBJECT and SAP_OBJECT fields.
But not sure whether these details upload from the SAP Form or from report.

InDesign cs5 keeps crashing whenever I try to alter the footnote formatting via Type Document Footnote Option or Paragraph Styles using Span Columns

InDesign cs5 crashes whenever I try to alter the footnote formatting by going to Type > Document Footnote Option > and then I try to select a Paragraph style I've already set up. The Paragraph style I need to use includes Span Columns, which I think may be the issue. I think this because when I then I tried to create a new document and re-import the styles, it won't even let me add Span Columns feature to the Paragraph Style in question.
I can send screen shots of everything (e.g. dialog boxes) if that would be helpful in understanding the issue I'm having.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

Updating user table (type document) via api

i need to update an user table that is of type document.
that table is also used as the client table in an udo.
i have tried the following code, but that of course doesn't work as the table is not a plain table but is of document type:

Cannot find ShipDate in Service Type documents

I need delivery date (ShipDate) information in service type purchase order.
I can set the visibility and active from form settings when I select item type purchase order but not service type purchaser order.

Hello,
You are correct this is SAP Process because when you select item then this items have different - different delivery schedule but in SAP service type document manage only header level info.
And if you want to manage then make a UDF in marketing document ,UDF type should be Date then configure according you in Service document.

I am having a problem with building a query - maybe one of you can point out my mistake!
First of all I have a sequence of nodes in the variable '$__mpqfEngineVar_13' which are built in a FLWOR using the following construct:

I am trying to filter out those which have a specific value in a descendant node (actually present inside the tree $__mpqfEngineVar_1 from above):

However I get the following error message:
Sequence does not match type document() - found item of type element({urn:dimis:mpqfQueryEngine:schema:2009}document, {http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}untyped)
If I use the following relative path instead (which is not an option since the path is user define) it actually works (notice the '*')....
*//mpeg7:FamilyName
Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Honestly I can't really see the semantic difference..

Hi Alex,
The expression "//mpeg7:FamilyName" is an abbreviated XQuery step that expands to this:
root() treat as document-node()/descendant-or-self::node()/mpeg7:FamilyNameThis shows you why you're getting an error about the root node not being a document node.
I expect that the expression you really want is ".//mpeg7:FamilyName" - the "." prefix makes it a relative path rather than an absolute path.

How to open .EXE type documents???

I downloaded a document but cant open it because it asks for an application to open it with. What application should i use to open .EXE type documents???
The document its called TVantsSetup.EXE

First, '.exe' is a Windows PC executable, and will not run on a Mac (at least not while you're in Mac OS)... And second, are you sure you posted this in the right place? This is the area for iPhone discussions...
If what you downloaded is a document, it may be a self-extracting one. From the name you indicated, it appears to be a setup program, and not a document. But nevertheless, it needs Windows.
