  • EWA on Non-ABAP System with Solution Manager EHP 1

    Hi Experts,
We have recently updated our solution manager from SP Stack 16 to EHP1 (sp 18). we are now planning to set up EWA for non-abap components (EP 7.0). however, the only SAP note that i have been able to find is "976054 - Availability of EWA for Non ABAP components" but this is only limited up to SP 17. I have not been able to find any guides relating to EWA thru Solution Manager EHP1.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone can refer any documents or SAP notes that would enable setting up EWA for non-abap components thru Solution Manager EHP1.
We have also gone through the note 1332428, but we have'nt found it useful. We are still struggling to generate EWA report on Non-ABAP system.
Looking forward to your kind help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sarthak Syal

    Hi Sarthak,
    Good!!
    Please do  the following:
    1) include the system in the Solution and scheduled the EWA session.Logical component should refer to the Non-ABAP System with no ABAP instance as relevant under the SID definition in SMSY-systems.
    2) Is the Non -ABAP ( assuming its java) has the Software component defined and is mentioned as relevant under the SID with the component name and type.
    3) Having said that SMD - Root cause Analysis functionality is configured-> check whether you are getting the Details for the Non-ABAP systems in the analysis Tabs of Root Cause Analysis.
This should be good to go. Wait for the session to get completed.
    Thanks,

  • Restricting Access in Solution Manager by Business Unit?

    Hi Experts
We are currently in the process of upgrading our Solution Manager to 7.0 EHP 1. Business wants to restrict access in Solution Manager by business unit. Is this possible? Is it possible to create derived roles which restrict on buisness unit without having to custominze? If it is possible which object needs to be maintained? I'm already aware of restricting access by project using S_Project but this still allows users to view other projects. The requirement is that users only view projects for their business unit.
    Please advise experts.

    Hi There,
I dont see any reason why you cannot acheive your objective in SolMan, You should be able customize views per business under SPRO_ADMIN and derive required view with in PFCG role separated by business.
Yes, You can also do derived roles concept in Solman and restrict by Org Units.
Guys - Do you differ from my opinion?

  • Readonly Access to Solution Manager possible?

    Hello experts,
at the moment we are using Solution Manager mainly for managing the
    system landscape and projects/Business blueprint.
My question, which role needs to be assigned if we want to give a user
    readonly access to projects (RMMAIN)?
In RMMAIN is it possible to give readonly access to one project and
    change access to another project?
Is it possible to give full readonly permission to the Solution Manager?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help,
    Manfred

Thanks for your help.especially the mentioning of the object S_PROJECT proved to be invaluable!
However, in the end some-else suggested to use the solution manager display role SAP_SOL_RO_COMP. This is a composite role holding all (or at least the most important) display roles regarding SOLMAN. I then just copied these single roles to my namespace and adjusted the S_PROJECT field according to my needs. Then I assigned these roles to the target user.
    Thanks again for your help,
    Best regards
    Manfred

  • EP and Solution Manager Via Webdispatcher

    Solution Manager Via Webdispatcher
    Dear All,
We have installed the Webdispatcher 7.4 and did the SSL setup and maintained necessary parameters to  access our Portal and ECC systems from internet and its working fine for indepedent Java and ABAP stack.
Now when we are trying to access the solution manager via webdispatcher using webgui, it opens but when its calling the webdynpros like solman_setup, the page is not openning. The same case is in our portal system also, when its calling the webdynpro of backend system its not openning.
During our analysis we found the urls are called from the local machine to the backend host (ABAP)  directly and there is no where its communicating the webdispatcher.
Can you please guide me what kind up setup can be done to access the Portal and solution manager complete functionality via webdispatcher.
I have checked many posts on the forum and was totally confused on the solution approches. So trying to filter it down to do a proper setup which is feasible to our landscape and infra team.
FYI Our Solman is on 7.1 SPS10 and portal is on 7.4, OS windows
Looking forward for your valuable inputs
    Thanks & Regards,
    Satyabrat

    Thanks Samuli,
I tried it..its working for solman but in my ECC (NW 7.31) its not working for web dynpros. Its going to hostname:8001 port and not redirecting to webdispatcher.
Pleae let me know if I am missing something.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Using saprouter in solution manager 4.0 environment with SMD

I am currently using Solution manager 3.2 (on SAP basis 6.20 technology).  We have not used any Solution Manager functionality that necessitated using the internal ITS, thus all access to solution manager SAP has been through sapgui or RFC.  Both these protocols can be routed through saprouter and we make use of this fact, having placed non-natting firewalls between both sapgui users ans SAP; and some ccmagents and SAP.
Now we want to move on to solution manager 4.0 with the JAVA stack and also run SMD.  We need SMD because we have also begun using SAP Netweaver 04 Enterprise Portal (Java only SAPs) which we wish to monitor with SAP solution monitor.  The portals are all on an internet facing eithernet segment outside the non-natting firewall protecting our ABAP SAPs (including Solution Monitor host).
Is it possible to route SDM agent connections to SDM through saprouter?  If so, are there any examples?
What about sapwebdispatcher?  Can it also be routed through saprouter? examples?
    What about SLD?  same questions...
    What about Mercury Loadrunner?

No! No!  I am not interested in using a saprouter between OSS and my http connection that is effectively http://myhost:5xx00/smd.  I am wondering about the SMD agent connection to SMD server (and vise versa).  The hosts I want to monitor cannot ping the solution monitor diagnostics machine, but ccmsping via saprouter is possible.  Can the SMD agent talk to the SMD server via saprouter? Examples? Can the SMD server talk to the agent via saprouter (perhaps different saprouter)?
    SMD agent ---> firewall1 --> intranet --> firewall2/saprouter --> SMD server
    SMD server --> firewall2/saprouter --> firewall1/saprouter --> SMD agent

  • Solution Manager 3.2 SR1 Install Problem

    Hello everybody,
I'm having a hard time trying to install SAP SolMan 3.2 SR1 on Windows Server 2003 x86_64 with Oracle 10.2.
I have installed the OS and Oracle 10.2.
When I start the installation of CI of SolMan after couple of screens it gives me the error:
CJS-00030  Assertion failed: No db client software version available in tORA_ClientVersion for client type AMD64
I have searched for days google and other forums and couldn't find an answer.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Stanislav,
The current Oracle 10.2.0.2 is at level patch-14 ( http://service.sap.com/swcenter-3pmain). So, that patch (10202_Patch14_MSWINX86-64.zip ) should be fine,
Also there you will have Oracle Install client  OCL10264.SAR.
But, I'm now thinking of the point Markus mentioned earlier about compatibity in 6.40 kernel and Oracle 10g. You might have a look at note 949116.
In that case it might be you will have to go for SolMan 4.0 (based on WAS 7.00). If you are only using ABAP stack (no Solution Manager Diagnostics), they must be almost same.
    Cheers !!
    Satya.

  • ABAP sneak preview (NSP) patch without Solution Manager after patch 11

I'm wondering if there is any plan to allow us ABAP sneak preview users to patch our system beyond patch level 11. So far I kept my NSP system up-to-date by patching it regularly. But now the Solution Manager is required to download the current patch level 12.
Is there any SolMan sneak preview available? Is there any add-on to upgrade the NSP itself into a SolMan system? - After all SolMan runs on 2004s ...
I noticed that trial version with SP12 is out - does this mean that the new strategy is to replace with each and every SP the Sneak-Preview-System? If there wasn't the lengthy (and often painful) setup I wouldn't mind. On top one would have to export and re-import all developments and configurations one would like to keep. Can you (SAP) not simply provide for us non-SolMan-havers the Service Packs as a simple and much more compact download (compared to the entire NSP download) ?

    Hi George,
Try to delete the registry keys mentioned here Re: How to uninstall Netweaver 7.0 ABAP trial version ?
To use it, run the clean up tool for the registry, press the radio button for 'Uninstall Service', enter 'NSP' for SID and '00' for the number.
This will only delete the registry entries for the application server, not for the database.
To access the DB via MMC, the service <b>SAP DB WWW</b> must be started. To do so, go to 'Start'->'Run...' and enter 'net start sapdbwww'. After the service is started, you can use the database manager within SAP MMC or just browse to  <a href="http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=000">http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=000</a>, which will actually use the same HTML UI.
Anyway, if the uninstallation runs normal, you shouldn't have any problems with registry keys.
    Try this:
    - Unistall system and DB
    - Use the registry clean tool
    - Delete the folder of InstallShield (usually C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal\SAP)
    - Reboot your system
    - Start the installation again without running any application (no firewall, antivirus etc.)
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Klaus

  • Accessing Component Information for systems connected to Solution Manager

We currently aggregate system component information for our ABAP systems through the following manual (and tedious) process:
    Log into each ABAP system
    Menu:  System -> Status
Click Component Information button (magnifying glass icon)
Retrieve the information:  Component, Release, Level, Support Package Name, Description.
Recently, we were drilling through Solution Manager Root Cause analysis -> Change reporting and noticed that this information is available for each system.  In the ABAP-Software data store.  This led us to consider if this information is contained within the Solution Manager BW cubes.
However when we looked at the SMD Change Analysis (thinking this would map to what we saw in the Change Analysis reporting), we didn't see this information.
So, the question is, does anyone have any thoughts were the Component information for systems is stored in Solution Manager?  Ideally, we would like to tap into this source for our own custom report as opposed to retrieving it manually from each system as I described.
    Thanks,
    Jeff Henke

    Hi Jeff,
the information about software components (and this is I think what you are looking for) is stored in the LMDB of Solution Manager. Each satellite system sends its component info into SLD (either in an external system or in Solution Manger itself). From there it is redirected to LMDB.
Try transaction LMDB in Solution Manager. There you have (depending on your SP-Stack) access to several reports to evaluate your landscape.
    Best regards, Alexander
