ABAP and BSP
Hi,
I have an ABAP report and I want to diplay the output on BSP...
but from time to time I have to refresh the BSP data (for refreshing I don't have problem) refreshing is meaning that I have to bring the data from reprot to the BSP.
Basically, there is an interaction between ABAP report and BSP to exchange the data.
please, I need a help... this is an Urgent development....

now almost my my first BSP is finished, the remaining problem is:
(1) how i can color the row based on the values in BSP page. for example,
int_employee-salary "is salary fields of employee record"
if int_employee-salary > 5000
colore the record with red
elseif int_employee-salary > 10000
colore the record with green
......... etc.

Look at the problem from the browser side. Here you require a frameset (or you can look at iframes) to achieve what you want. So the browser must call an URL, let us call it default.htm, that will render out the frameset. This default.htm can be a page, a controller with print_string instructions or even a controller that calls a view that prints out the HTML. Personally, I simply use a page.
Default.htm will then have source about like this:
<frameset>
<frame src="applog.do" ... >
<frame src="personaldata.do" ...>
</frameset>
Please check HTML documentation to get <frameset> correct, including things like fixed sizes and scrolling. Also, frameset documents have a different page structure than normal HTML pages, and does not for example have a <body> sequence. Most people make mistakes here. HTML documentation is highly recommended. (There are no tags to render out framesets. You should just write the HTML directly.)
The important aspect here is that we are just using the URLs of the different controllers to load them into the different frames we require. From view of the browser, these are just URLs that will return HTML. Whether pages or controllers+views are executed to generate the HTML makes no difference to the browser. -
Hi,
we needed to apply the patch ES24 (817288 note) and the correcting notes 835935, 841822, 842134, 845578, 85259.
It's assumed that this patches were used to solve problems with payroll and payslip problems like IRPF calculations.
After applying this patches and notes on our system, we have noticed that all designs and look&fell of our BSP applications have been changed and modified.
We are developing BSP applications with HTMLB in WAS620, and the desing by default that we are using is 2003 (<htmlb:content design="2003">).
But now, all our applications appear with the colors and look&fell of design 2003, themeRoot sap_tradeshow (I saw this colors and design in the example application SBSPEXT_HTMLB).
So, I have to put in all the applications the attribute themeRoot="sap_standard" (<htmlb:content design="2003" themeRoot="sap_standard">), and we have about 100 BSP pages, grouping in several applications.
Somebody can help me and tell me why are changing all the default designs after applying this patches and notes and how can I solve my problem whitout changing manually all BSP pages?go to se37 and run the function , leave the defaults, just pass the BSP application name to
IV_INITIAL_APPL parameter.
and execute , this will bring in a pop up where you can change the theme for the application. (available themes would come up in a popup).
I guess you want to do a mass change of the themes, for that you can write a custom abap and get the logic from the mentioned FM.
This problem is caused by a PATCH update, why dont you raise a OSS message for the same.

Abdul HakimI guess it depends on what you consider 'EP development'. Native development, i.e. programming against the portal api is of course only possible in java (as the api is java).
Developing BSPs with ABAP and including them within a BSP-iView (maybe even interconnecting these iViews with client-side eventing via EPCF) is perfectly possible. I don't know if this is what you meant though..

We are having MI 7.0 at SPS15.Am trying to apply add to our system(we created SDA file from NWA as an addon).SDA addon getting deployed but its not getting sync between ABAP and Java stack even if is run reload sever time from NWA->Administrator->Mobile Infrastructure->Mobile Components.I can see add-on when i check from SDM but it cannot see when i search under Mobile component in NWA.Application logs shows below error.

Tha ABAP stack consists of the Integration Server which in turn contains your Integration Engine and Business Process Engine.
The J2EE stack contains the Adapter Engine and your IR and ID run on the J2EE engine.
Ever wondered how and where the XI pipeline gets executed? It happens in the ABAP stack.
All messsages picked by the Adapter Framework running on the J2EE engine are passed to the Integration Engine, which does the routing. The mapping program again gets executed on the Java stack and the rest of the pipeline servies are executed again on the ABAP stack and so on.

From technical point of view, there is no difference, Instead of using R/3 tables you will be using IS-U tables in you select queries etc...
Functionally there are differnce in ISU and R/3 (SD/MM/PM/FI etc..)

Hello Experts,
What options are available to me for working with XML documents in SAP R/3 4.7? I am working on SAP WAS 6.20 ABAP and was wondering which tools/techniques I can use for parsing XML files?
I am developing an ABAP program and primarily need to be able to parse XML documents. I need to be able to traverse up and down their data structures (trees/nodes/elements/etc.).
In SAP R/3 4.6 I used to use the iXML library but it seems that there are many advanced and powerful features included in SAP WAS 6.20 ABAP and up.
Could someone please give me a summary of and their opinions on some these "newer" options?

There are two ways you can parse/interpret XML documents in ABAP -
1. iXML - Which you have already used in 46 release. It wasn't easy to use set of functions but still it was possible to parse documents using iXML library. In WAS 6.20 you can now use class CL_XML_DOCUMENT which is much more easier to use than iXML library. It is bilt on top of iXML using the same DOM model.
2. XSLT - Useing XSLT_TOOLS or XSLT transaction you can create XSLT programs to transform XML to ABAP data objects and then work with ABAP data objects. In this case you have the option of using some other tool like XMLSPY to write the XSLT and then copy that to SAP.
From your post it looks like you will probably have to traverse the tree in unpridictable way, probably DOM based parsing using CL_XML_DOCUMENT is more suitable for you.

Short dump is displayed, when I try to insert CRM product (type: material) in the document (opportunity). This CRM product was created in CRM directly.
When I try to insert ECC migrated material, everything works fine.

How authentication and authorization works in webdynpro for abap and portal
Hi Experts,
I have to create an webdynpro abap application for portal which will update the user information in the backend HR standard table.
The SSO (certificate)setup is already doen between portal and backend sap system . Do I need to pass the portal userID to the webDynpro ABAP application, via IView created to update the table. OR SSO will take care itself.

If SSO is configured as you have mentioned, then all is ok and you don't need do pass the user ID.
It will be done automatically.
Just try for yourself - create a simple WD ABAP and put it inside an iView.
Then have this WD to write the SY-UNAME on the screen.
That way you will confirm what I'm saying

Infotypes stand apart in HR and manage a volume of data in HR domain..they are unique to HR module ranging from basic employee information to time management and finally the custom infotypes.....
Payroll and other monetory activities related to an employee also form a vital part of the HR module....
while considering Reports..in HR data is mainly with respect to infotypes and the concept of PAKEY...7 key fields which uniquely defines any record in an infotype is used..with Pernr(employee number),Begda(begindate) and Endda(enddate) form an integral part of the key..Based on the time constraints(1,2,3) of an infotype the keys are judged (to retrieve data from an infotype)
In ABAP HR we also have lots of predefined function modules that can be used..eg:go to se37..put 'HR*' and press F4...
finally to update an HR infotype record we use the function module hr operation rather than direct updates...also there are standard audit trail reports that monitors various activities such as insert/modify/delete operations on an hr infotype record...

WebDispatcher on ABAP and JAVA on serperate Servers
Hi all,
i read a lot of hours trough post concerning issues about web dispatcher, but i didn't find anything that suits my problem.
We have a MSCS-Cluster. One Node has the db which is for ABAP and JAVA (different schemas).
Than we have an SCS for ABAP and one for JAVA.
So the ABAP and JAVA-Instances are physically separated.
Now we want to use a web dispatcher to pass the requests to the right destination.
But i am not sure how to set it up. Do we need 2 dispatcher, or can one handle the requests. How does the dispatcher knows, where to redirect the requests ?
Is that done with the parameter icm/HTTP/redirect_<xx> ?

i am not clear with the function of the dispatcher.
When i bind the ABAP Dispatcher, than all requests to /sap/ are handled by the ABAP-Stack an are working, but when i browse to an Adress like /irj/portal/ the dispatcher says that the Adress is noch reachable.
When i bind the dispatcher to the Java-Stack, than all Java-Adresses work, but the /sap/ not, which is the ABAP Stack.
so, i don't know exactly where my fault is.
How knows the Dispatcher, where the ABAP or JAVA-Stack is.
On an other Machine where the java is an add-in, it works quite well, but on this server the abap and Java Servers are physically separated.

Drop Down in ALV ABAP and NOT in OO - ABAP
Hello Everyone....
I m workin on an ALV which is in simple ABAP and not in OO-ABAP. There is some selection criteria on the first screen , as soon as the user fulfills the requirement an ALV GRID is displayed in which the last column is editable.
But the Problem is that i wanna make that editable field in ALV as drop down which would contain values from the database table.
Suggest me some method , so that i dont have to do much changes in my code .

To make an input/output field into a list box, you must set the value L or LISTBOX in the Dropdown attribute in the Screen Painter. The visLg attribute determines the output width of the list box and the field. You can assign a function code to a list box field. In this case, the PAI event is triggered as soon as the user chooses a value from the list, and the function code is placed in the SY-UCOMM and OK_CODE fields. If you do not assign a function code, the PAI event must be triggered in the usual way that is, when the user chooses a pushbutton or an element from the GUI status.
If you have assigned a list box to an input/output field, you can use the Value list attribute of the screen element to determine how the value list should be compiled. There are two options:
Value list from input help (recommended)
If you do not enter anything in the value list attribute, the text field uses the first column displayed in the input help assigned to the screen field. The input help can be defined in the ABAP Dictionary, the screen, or a POV dialog module. It should be laid out in two columns. The key is automatically filled.
Value list from PBO modules (not recommended).
If you enter A in the value list attribute, you must fill the value list yourself before the screen is sent (for example, in the PBO event) using the function module VRM_SET_VALUES. When you do this, you must pass an internal table with the type VRM_VALUES to the import parameter VALUES of the function module. VRM_VALUES belongs to the type group VRM. The line type is a structure consisting of the two text fields KEY (length 40) and TEXT (length 80). In the table, you can combine possible user entries from the KEY field with any texts from the TEXT component. You specify the corresponding input/output field in the import parameter ID.

The next screen (statically defined) for screen 100 is 100. The only input field on the screen is the component SDYN_CONN-CARRID. Its Dropdown attribute is set to L, and it has the output length 20. The Value list attribute is empty, and it has the function code SELECTED. The function codes of the buttons EXECUTE and CANCEL. CANCEL are defined in the GUI status as having the function type E.
The screen flow logic is as follows:
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
MODULE status_0100.
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
MODULE cancel AT EXIT-COMMAND.
MODULE user_command_0100.
PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.
FIELD sdyn_conn-carrid MODULE create_dropdown_box.
Users cannot enter any values into the screen fields. When they choose the input field on screen 100, the system displays a list box. The Value list attribute is empty, so the system launches the input mechanism. In this case, the event block PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST is created in the screen flow logic. This event block controls all other mechanisms. A two-column internal table is filled in the appropriate dialog module and passed to the input help using the F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST function module. The system inserts the two columns of the table into the list box.
When the user chooses a line in the list box, the PAI event is triggered using the function code SELECTED and the value in the first column of the internal table is copied to the input field.
