ABAP calls EJB/JCo
ABAP to Java method call.
Can anyone provide me with the steps to be taken.
1)I had already created an empty Function module Z_JCO in R/3.
2)I have created a TCP/IP RFC Destination called "TEST".
3)Using Visual Administrator JCo Provider Service, I have created the destination "TEST".
4)From SM59,the test connection is successful.
5)I created a Stateless Session bean and implemented the business method public void processFunction(JCO.Function);
6)In the EJB Module project, I am referencing the sapjco.jar in the Eclipse build path of the project.
Question.
Eventhough I give Z_JCO (ALL CAPITAL LETTERS) as the JNDI name of the Stateless Session bean, I am getting the exception of "NO ejb found. No method exist".
Please let me know what I am missing. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Do I do anything with librfc32.dll and sapjcorfc.dll which comes with the JCo?
I have installed JCo separetely. I have read JCo comes with WAS as well. What JCo jar do I use?
Thanks,

Hi everyone,
I want to use the Z_JCO_RFC_PROVIDER, but unfortunately the function module is missing in the R/3. Do I have to create it? Do I need only one import- and one export-parameter?
Here is my coding from se37:
FUNCTION Z_JCO_RFC_PROVIDER.
""Lokale Schnittstelle:
*" IMPORTING
*" VALUE(UNAME) LIKE SY-UNAME
*" EXPORTING
*" VALUE(RETURN) LIKE SY-UNAME
ENDFUNCTION.
When I test the function using the RFC Destination JCO RFC PROVIDER SERVICE (generated in SM59), I get a short dump. Does anyone knows why?
The Connection Test ist ok.

Hi All,
I need to invoke a static method of an ABAP class from JCo. Is this possible? I am new to JCo. Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
PraneethHello Praneeth,
i'm not sure about calling ABAP class method from JCo directly, but there is a possibility to call function module from SAP R3. And the shortest way to do so is described in Re: Accessing SAP backend from j2ee without entrprise portal thread, answered by me.
I guess there is no problem to call an class method from an function module.
Please consider rewording points if helpfull.

Problem with BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEW2 while calling using JCO of XMII
Hi DMS Gurus,
The above FM is successfully executing and creating a local copy in temp folder of where the FM running using SAP GUI.
But when i call using jco,i am getting some problems.
1. If i execute the FM with default values for http dest and ftp dest, i am getting error saying << c:\temp\....file could not be created.
2. When i changed the HTTP destination to <<SAPHTTPA>, it is executing fm successfully but dont know in which system the file is downloaded.
My client application or xMII server ( where jco service is running ) or ABAP server.
I checked in the first 2,i didn't find.
SAP GUI is not installed in xMII server.
But my requirement is to download to the physical server of xMII ( jco ).
Is this any thing to do with creating http destinations??
If that is the case, can any body help me in creating http destinations..
and i heard something about SAPFTP.EXE ,is that should be some where in client or any servers??
Please help me.
Thanks
VansiVamsi,
As I mentioned in this forum thread, bapi_document_checkoutview2. You have to use the POST action in BLS to communicate with the HTTP Interface of Content Mgmt. directly. The only other alternative is to write your own BAPI to retrieve the content and send it back to xMII via the JCo action (Hint: The data will be base64 encoded and can be saved to the filesystem via the Image Saver action even though it is not an image).

ABAP Calling JAVA Function or Method
Hi Friend,
I need help in how to proceed using ABAP and Call JAVA Function . I know that we need to use RFC enabled Function modules. I was able to connect using JAVA Connector which was provided by SAP For communicating with JAVA Apps. The approach for connecting the JAVA to SAP is working fine. But I have browsed through various website but failed to find any information. Now i am looking forward to help from you friends to solve my problems .
The Requirement is mentioned below:-
1. Prerequiste for SAP ABAP calling a third Party software which is working in JAVA Platform (like any middle ware which might be hardware or software).
2. Sample Code like calling a Text ' Hello to the world calling JAVA from ABAP'.
3. Steps and process so that it would be helpful.
Timely help would be appreciated.
Rajiv Christopher.1.Middleware is JCO RFC provider it comes with SAP so no need any third party Adapter.
2.

RFC call failed: JCO.Server could not find server function 'SET_SLD_DATA'
Hi, All
the system is PI 7.0 EHP1 oraclei Win2003 server, I configured SLD but I run RZ70, having error "RFC call failed: JCO.Server could not find server function 'SET_SLD_DATA' ". I know there are lot of tread about this error, but none of themsolve my problem. all JCO, RFC connections and SDL DATA supplier(VA) seem OK. error message in SM21 is "Could not send SLD data"
detail from SM21
The system could not send the data that has been collected automatical
for the System Landscape Directory (SLD). Check whether the gateway
configured in transaction RZ70 has been started and whether the SLD
bridge has been registered with this gateway.
You can use transaction SM59 to check this in the sending system for t
implemented RFC destinations. The RFC destinations have the standard
names "SLD_UC" for Unicode sending systems and "SLD_NUC" for non-Unico
sending systems. If a different RFC destination has been entered in
RZ70, check this destination instead.
You can use the Gateway Monitor to check the target gateways. In ABAP
systems, this monitor is started with transaction SMGW, or you can use
the external SAP program "gwmon". Check whether the specified gateway
has an active registration.
OF COURSE I checked RFC of SLD_UC and SMGW
any different ideas
Regards
ABHHi
Please check the following notes are implemented
Note 906454
Note 907729
You may be aware but if you are not --->RZ70 creates the required SLD* RFCs during runtime - therefore if you have defined these RFCs manually first using the same namespace you can get RFC conflicts which result in a failed submission
Please also check the user in the RFC is known to both systems and has required authorization to write to SLD
Generally with SLD you have to install or select a suitable gateway to handle incoming data supply traffic
Also the gateway you are using has be known to SLD and reflected in RZ70 - i.e these defintions have to be the same
It is also recommended to delete all references to SLD_* RFCs in data supplier and target SLD
after a failed submission attempt to allow RZ70 to recreate these consistently once the above has been checked
Best wishes

RFC call through JCo or webservice
Can anybody point differences(advantages/disadvantages) between a)calling a BAPI using JCo b)creating a web service for the RFC and calling the webservice fron WD application.
regards,
BhupeshHi Bhupesh,
Jco is written in java and it convert the java calls into the native ABAP calls ..so comunication is done between a java program and r/3 system through the JCo.....if the BAPI is exposed as a webservice ..then the processing language use is XML and SOAP protocol any language which can create and process XML can communication to BAPI(r/3) system...like java, dotnet etc....else u need a middleware like JCO which can convert java calls to abap calls for that language ...and now a days ....XML is commanly used by most of the Internet technologies...
hope this will clear ur doubt.

Calling EJB 3.0 from ALBPM

WDP calling EJB and passing objects of classes from Java project
Hi.
We have <b>Java</b> project which contains some classes common for all projects (like xxx.Version).
We have <b>EJB</b> project which defines EJB interface using these common classes (like getVersion(String, int): xxx.Version and getCurrency(String,xxx.Version,int):xxx.Currency ).
We have <b>Web Dynpro</b> project which calls EJB:

2. call to getVersion is successful
3. call to getCurrency fails with <b>NoSuchMethodException</b>:

How can I set dependencies to get this running?
Thanks to all
VolkerHi,
Is it available in the interface you are using..
If the answer is yes.. you might have probably forgotten to deploy the EJBs ear file after making the changes..
Rebuild it.. and deploy the EJB s ear file again..
It will solve the problem.. If that also does not work,it might be a problem with the cache.. restart the server..
It should work now !

With Transaction SE80 locate from
the menu Utilities -> Settings ->
Internet Transaction Server (Tab) ->
Publish (Tab) and set On Selected
Site = INTERNAL.
3- Locate the Internet Services SYSTEM and WEBGUI.
Publish these services with the Context
Menu -> Publish -> Complete Service
4- Browse to http://<server>:<icmport>/sap/bc/gui/
sap/its/webgui/! and login to the

Hope this will help.

How to Call EJB from coldfusion
I need to call EJB that's created in JBoss from coldfusion.
I'm getting different errors depending on how I set the home object
and provider url.
If I prefix provider url with jnp://, then I get the
following error
The connection to the remote JNDI server on host jnp at port
1099 has failed (as have all backup hosts listed, if any) - please
verify that the server is running and the NamingService is
available
If I take the jnp out and keep just the ip address and port,
then i get the following error
null (no security manager: RMI class loader disabled).
So I'm not sure what the issue is and I haven't used this
feature before.
Here's my codeI tries to call custom EJBfrom custom component received
follwong error
ERROR [STDERR] javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
No ClassLoaders found for: com.mycom.myapp.action.interfaces.pm.ejb.PmFacadeRemote
(no security manager: RMI class loader disabled)]
any idea?
Thanks
