ABAP Class CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE, Method to concatenate 2 texts

Hi Experts.
I  want to use Web Design API for Tables for a BW WEB report.
I should concatenate the texts from 1. and 2. column into 3. colum.
I created an ABAP Klass that has CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE as superclass.
Which method should I use here ?
How can I concatenate the text form different characteristics ?
I tried to call method GET_CELL_IFO in method DATA_CELL but no success ?
Can you provide some sample codes .
Thanks.

Hi,
You can acheive this through using the CAPTION_CELL method and CHARACTERISTIC_CELL methods.
We need to use CAPTION_CELL method to merge headers and then the other one to merge char values.
For detail info refer these links:
Merging the values of two columns into one column BW Report
You can make use of the coding and methodlogy that was used in this below article.

Hope this helps you.

  • Calling a custom tcode using abap class from workflow

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement of calling a custom tcode from my workflow.
    For this i have created a class zcl_test ( has if_workflow ) .
    I created a method ztest which will call the tcode.
    CALL TRANSACTION 'ZTX'.  ( My tcode just has 1 input field, for testing purpose )
    Then i created a task in whichi hv used this abap class and method.
    But the tcode does not run when i execute the workflow.
    Please help.
    Thank You,
    Radhika Vadher.

    Radhika Vadher
    use the sample code to get the data from the task container into the ABAP class
    DATA :
             w_ref        TYPE  REF TO      if_swf_run_wim_internal,
             w_ref_cnt  TYPE  REF TO      if_wapi_workitem_context,
              w_wi_ref   TYPE  REF TO      if_swf_ifs_parameter_container.
    TRY.
        CALL METHOD cl_swf_run_wim_factory=>find_by_wiid
          EXPORTING
            im_wiid     = w_wiid
          RECEIVING
            re_instance = w_ref.
      CATCH cx_swf_run_wim_enq_failed .
      CATCH cx_swf_run_wim_read_failed .

        re_ctx = w_ref_cnt.
    CALL METHOD w_ref_cnt->get_wi_container
      RECEIVING
        re_container = w_wi_ref.
    and the w_wi_ref is having a method GET use that method to get the values of the task container into the ABAP class.

  • Class/Interface/Methods

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to understand the concept behind abap class/interface/methods.
    1. Is it mandatory to have an interface in every class?
    2. Once a class is created is it right to define methods as static and public and use them without reference to the interface?
    Any help appreciated.
    Meghna

    hi meghna,
    interfaces in ABAP Objects play the same role as classes. Just like classes, interfaces are object types that reside in the namespace of all types. While a class describes all aspects of a class, an interface only describes a partial aspect
    The syntax for declaring a local interface is:
    INTERFACE intf.
       DATA ...
       CLASS-DATA ...
       METHODS ...
       CLASS-METHODS ...
    ENDINTERFACE.
    Basically, the declaration of an interface corresponds to the declaration part of a class, where instead of CLASSu2014ENDCLASS, you simply use INTERFACEu2014ENDINTERFACE. Interfaces can contain exactly the same components as classes. Unlike classes, however, interfaces don't need to be divided into different visibility sections because interface components are always integrated in the public visibility section of classes.
    i dont want to confuse you .
    please go to the below link to know more about... interface and classes.

  • Calling ABAP class methods from JAVA application

    Hi All,
    I want to fetch ITS related information (SITSPMON Tcode) in my JAVA application. But i didnt find much BAPIs for the same. While debugging I came accross few class methods with help of which I can get the required information. So is there any way we can call and execute methods of ABAP classes through java application?
    for e.g. I want to call GET_VERSION method of CL_ITSP_UTIL class.
    Thanks,
    Arati.

    Hi,
    Yes, as per my knowledge the only way to interact is using BAPI exposed as RFCs. So try to invoke those class methods in one CUSTOM BAPI and expose that BAPI as RFC and consume that RFC to get those details.

  • BAPI diff Method in ABAP class

    Dear friends
    Coul any1 tel me hw BAPI differed frm a method whic used in an ABAP class , BAPI is also a method of a BOR.
    And is it possible to replace a BAPI using a method of an ABAP class..
    cheers
    sakthi

    Hello Sakthi
    The concept of BOR methods is purely semantic and has nothing to do with ABAP-OO.
    The so-called method of business objects are implemented by BAPIs.
    The cannot be replaced by ABAP class methods. In particular, BAPIs are RFC-enabled whereas class methods cannot (yet) be called remotely.

  • Call Java Class and Methods from ABAP

    Hi
    I install de JCo, But how i can call java class and methods from ABAP?. somebody has an example?
    The tutorial say that's is possible,  but don't explain how do that?
    Thanks.
    Angel G. Hurtado

    If you need only simple java program, you do not need to install JCo. The following codes can call java class.
    DATA: COMMAND TYPE STRING VALUE 'C:\j2sdk1.4.2_08\bin\java',
          DIR TYPE STRING VALUE D:\eclipse\workspace',
          PARAMETER TYPE STRING VALUE 'Helloworld'. "here the name of your java program
    CALL METHOD CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>EXECUTE
       EXPORTING
         APPLICATION = COMMAND
         PARAMETER = PARAMETER
         DEFAULT_DIRECTORY = DIR
       MAXIMIZED =
         MINIMIZED = 'X'     "If you need the DOS window to be minimized
      EXCEPTIONS
        CNTL_ERROR = 1
        ERROR_NO_GUI = 2
        BAD_PARAMETER = 3
        FILE_NOT_FOUND = 4
        PATH_NOT_FOUND = 5
        FILE_EXTENSION_UNKNOWN = 6
        ERROR_EXECUTE_FAILED = 7
        OTHERS = 8.
    Tell me if it works.

  • ABAP class method with dialogue

    Hi all,
    I want to use a ABAP class method within a Workflow definition with user interaction. The SAP help says, that is possible, but I couldn't find a way, to mark the method as "with dialogue".
    For BOR-objects there is a checkbox in the details for the method definition. Can anybody tell me, how it can be done?
    Thanks in advance
    Nick

    Hi Nicolas,
      When you create the Task with the ABAP OO Method, you can select it as "Background Processing" else it will be a "Dialog Process".
    If you notice here, "Background Processing" checkbox will be editable if ABAP OO Method is used, whereas in case of Business Objects it directly comes from method definition.
    Reward points if useful.

  • Could you please send me the material Opps concepts Classes and Methods

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on Opps concepts.I am new to this concept.
    Could you please send me the detailed presentation on Abap oops.
    Thanks inadvance,
    Regards,
    Rekha.

    Hi this will help u.
    OOPs ABAP uses Classes and Interfaces which uses Methods and events.
    If you have Java skills it is advantage for you.
    There are Local classes as well as Global Classes.
    Local classes we can work in SE38 straight away.
    But mostly it is better to use the Global classes.
    Global Classes or Interfaces are to be created in SE24.
    SAP already given some predefined classes and Interfaces.
    This OOPS concepts very useful for writing BADI's also.
    So first create a class in SE 24.
    Define attributes, Methods for that class.
    Define parameters for that Method.
    You can define event handlers also to handle the messages.
    After creation in each method write the code.
    Methods are similar to ABAP PERFORM -FORM statements.
    After the creation of CLass and methods come to SE38 and create the program.
    In the program create a object type ref to that class and with the help of that Object call the methods of that Class and display the data.
    Example:
    REPORT sapmz_hf_alv_grid .
    Type pool for icons - used in the toolbar

    Main Class – CL_SALV_TABLE
    The main class used to create the simple 2D table is the class CL_SALV_TABLE. Create a reference variable for this class. Create an internal table and fill this internal table with data as show below.
    REPORT ZALVOM_DEMO1. data: ispfli type table of spfli. data: gr_table type ref to cl_salv_table. start-of-selection. select * into table ispfli from spfli.
    Next we need to create the ALV object for the 2D table. The FACTORY method allows you to create the ALV object in 3 ways. You can create the ALV Grid, as a classical list display, as a full screen grid, and finally embedded into a screen container. For this example, we will be working with the full screen grid. Create the call to the FACTORY method. We are importing the object reference into GR_TABLE and passing the internal table ISPFLI.
    cl_salv_table=>factory( importing r_salv_table = gr_table changing t_table = ispfli ).
    Next we need to display the grid, for this we use the DISPLAY method . Simply call it.
    gr_table->display( ).

    Functions – CL_SALV_FUNCTIONS
    Next, add functions to the application toolbar. For this, use the CL_SALV_FUNCTIONS class. Create the object reference variable and receive the object using the GET_FUNCTIONS method of the GR_TABLE object. Call the method SET_ALL to force the ALV grid to show all standard functions.
    report zalvom_demo1. data: ispfli type table of spfli. data: gr_table type ref to cl_salv_table. data: gr_functions type ref to cl_salv_functions. start-of-selection. select * into table ispfli from spfli. cl_salv_table=>factory( importing r_salv_table = gr_table changing t_table = ispfli ). gr_functions = gr_table->get_functions( ). gr_functions->set_all( abap_true ). gr_table->display( ).
    The result is now you have the standard buttons on the application toolbar.
    Display Settings – CL_SALV_DISPLAY_SETTINGS
    Next, we can change some display settings using the class CL_SALV_DISPLAY_SETTINGS. Create the object reference variable and receive the object using the GET_DISPLAY_SETTINGS method of the GR_TABLE object. In this example, we are setting the “Striped Pattern” for the ALV Grid rows, and setting the heading in the title bar.
    report zalvom_demo1.

    Columns – CL_SALV_COLUMNS_TABLE and CL_SALV_COLUMN_TABLE
    Next, we can change some of the attributes of a specific column in the ALV grid. In this example we will change the Heading Text of a column as well as the color of a column. Create the object reference variable and receive the object using the GET_COLUMNS method of the GR_TABLE object. This will pass you the object for all columns of the ALV grid. To access just one column, call the method GET_COLUMN from the GR_COLUMNS object. In this example, we are accessing the CITYTO column and the CITYFROM column.

    Sorts – CL_SALV_SORTS
    Next, we can add some sorting to the ALV grid. Create the object reference variable and receive the object using the GET_SORTS method of the GR_TABLE object. Next, add the sort by calling the ADD_SORT method of the GR_SORTS object.

    Aggregations – CL_SALV_AGGREGATIONS
    Since we sorted by CITYTO, we can add an aggregation to subtotal the DISTANCE by CITYTO. Create the object reference variable and receive the object using the GET_AGGREGATIONS method of the GR_TABLE object. Next, add the aggregation by calling the ADD_AGGREGATION method of the GR_SORTS object. We also need to modify the call to ADD_SORT to set the SUBTOTAL = ABAP_TRUE.

    Filters – CL_SALV_FILTERS
    Using the CL_SALV_FILTERS class we can setup some filters for the data in our ALV GRID. Create the object reference variable and receive the object using the GET_FILTERS method of the GR_TABLE object, and then simply called the method ADD_FILTER with the parameters.

  • ABAP classes for WebTemplate development

    Hi experts,
    I am manipulating a report via ABAP classes.  I need to hide an entire column including the header.  Currently I have done this under the DATA_CELL method and have only been able to hide the KF area.  If I need to hide the Header in the column (built under a structure) as well must I move all my code under the CAPTION_CELL method instead?
    Secondly, I also need to search for a row by the text "Overall Results."  Is there a quick way to search the Y axis for this particular row using the text "Overall Results?
    mark

    hi Mark,
    you can try in
    method CAPTION_CELL
    if i_iobjnm_row = 'your charateristic to be hidden'.
    C_CELL_TD_EXTEND = 'style="display:none;"'.
    endif.
    and ...
    method CHARACTERISTIC_CELL
    if I_IOBJNM = 'your charateristic to be hidden'.
      C_CELL_TD_EXTEND = 'style="display:none;"'.
    endif.
    and I_IS_SUM <> 'X' if result not hide
    to search 'Overall Result' (if you didnt get yet), can try
    method CHARACTERISTIC_CELL
    I_TEXT
    not sure what's your requirement, to hide a characteristic you can set it bex query designer, characteristic's property 'display' = no display.
    hope this helps.

  • How to Programmatically Create and Activate an ABAP Class

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to programmatically create and activate an ABAP class that implements a 'pre-defined' interface.
    Do you have any ideas how this can be done?
    Thanks,
    Shreevathsa S

    Hi,
       Try if GENRATE SUBROUTINE POOL keyword can be of your help.
    See the below example,
    DATA itab  TYPE TABLE OF string.
    DATA prog  TYPE string.
    DATA class TYPE string.
    APPEND `program.`                     TO itab.
    APPEND `class main definition.`       TO itab.
    APPEND `  public section.`            TO itab.
    APPEND `    class-methods meth.`      TO itab.
    APPEND `endclass.`                    TO itab.
    APPEND `class main implementation.`   TO itab.
    APPEND `  method meth.`               TO itab.
    APPEND `    message 'Test' type 'I'.` TO itab.
    APPEND `  endmethod.`                 TO itab.
    APPEND `endclass.`                    TO itab.
    GENERATE SUBROUTINE POOL itab NAME prog.
    CONCATENATE `\PROGRAM=` prog `\CLASS=MAIN` INTO class.
    CALL METHOD (class)=>meth.

  • Can I use classes and methods for a maintenance view events?

    Hello experts,
    Instead of perform/form, can I instead use classes and methods, etc for a given maintenance view event, lets say for example I want to use event '01' which is before saving records in the database. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot guys!

    Hi viraylab,
    1. The architecture provided by maintenance view
       for using EVENTS and our own code inside it -
       It is provided using FORM/PERFORM
       concept only.
    2. At this stage,we cannot use classes.
    3. However, inside the FORM routine,
       we can write what ever we want.
       We can aswell use any abap code, including
       classes and methods.
      (But this classes and methods won't have any
       effect on the EVENT provided by maintenance view)
    regards,
    amit m.

  • File to Proxy Scenario using ABAP Class and DB Multi Connect

    Hello Friends,
    I have a scenario below and a proposed solution. I would like some input as to whether i am headed the right way.
    Scenario: Thousands of records come in from the legacy accounting system. The fields of these records need to be mapped to SAP fields using cross-reference tables stored in DB2. Finally, summarize the records by deleting a few fields and feed to R/3.
    Solution i proposed:
    (1) File Adapter is used to send the file
    (2) Although JDBC adapter comes first to mind but since i need to access the DB2 tables multiple times for each record i propose to use an ABAP class for the mapping. Within the ABAP class the intent is to open an database connection to DB2, read the relevant cross tables using native SQL and finally generate the output XML.
    (3) Reciever is Proxy which feeds this generated XML to SAP for creating posting via BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST
    Question: Is the above solution correct or is there a better method to implement this scenario?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Minhaj.

    Looks fine. Few observations -
    1. Whether it is ABAP class or Mapping in RFC lookup, you are making multiple trips to the database.
    2. It looks like PI is being used only for reading the file and converting it to XML.
    3. If using PI is not mandatory, then a complete ABAP class on ECC it self would be faster than swtching between PI Java, PI ABAP then round trips to DB2 finally data push to ECC.
    If you could look at something like fetching all the required RFC look up data in one go and then map the fields according, might save u on processor and network resources.
