Database is not available via R3trans
Hi,
We are moving the CI to the different server keeping the database on the same server, it is dual stack BI system, SCS instalaltion went fine, for the CI installation, we got to the error while bringing up the CI , it is not able to connect to the database
startsap r3
Checking BXT Database
Database is not available via R3trans
Database BXT must be started first
But
R3trans -d
This is R3trans version 6.14 (release 701 - 26.01.09 - 12:46:00).
unicode enabled version
R3trans finished (0000).
The trans.log doesn't give any error
The listener is up on the database and listening to the port as the R3trans -d went through.
Please let me know if there is anything can be done, i am banging my head for a week now, I have tried the profile parameters and resetting the db users passwords also.Hi,
Thanks all for replying,
The Dev logs are not generated as of now, so can't paste them,
Copied the lastest version of kernel, but it didn't work.
Put the tnsname and schema profile, dbms\type was already there, But it didn't work too.
Any other suggestions

Hi Experts,
I have installed NW 7.0 portal Ehp2 system on Solaris cluster with logical name . Now when I try to start SAP with the startsap script . it is not starting the database (Oracle) . It just checks whether DB is running and giving message J2EE database not available via test , and asking to check JdbCon.log .

Reading from ABAP memory, not available in call stack
Hi,
I need to read a table from ABAP memory. It is not available from the call stack, so I cant use the standard assign approach. The internal table is listed under System areas -> Area ITABS-HEADS with the name \FUNCTION-POOL=MLSP\DATA=IY_ESLL[]
Is it even possible to read this table? Seems as though I have to access function-pool MLSP to find it.
Regards,
DamianHi,
The main program of this function pool is SAPLMLSP. If you in any of theses includes can add a small form that returns the content of internal table ( IY_ESLL[] ) that should solve your problem.
In the program that need the data, write something like :
PERFORM Z_GET_MLSP_DATA(SAPLMLSP) using GT_ESLL.
This form can be created within any sub-include within the SAPLMLSP.
However, with a quick look at SAPLMLSP does not reveal any user modifiable includes, but I didn't check very carefully.
If you are on ECC 6.0, there are plenty of enhancement spots, which could be used for this purpose. -
Adobe Reader 10.1.5 not available through SCUP catalog
Hi,
Since the Adobe Reader vulnerability update 10.1.5 was released yesterday i have been unable to view it through the SCUP catalog.
It appears that the Adobe Acrobat catalog is updated to show 10.1.5 just not reader.
I have manually viewed the online version and it is not available -
http://armmf.adobe.com/arm-manifests/win/SCUP/Reader10_Catalog.cab
Is this an oversight?I too just now checked. Both Acrobat and Reader catalog's date is apperaing 12-18-2012 to me. and it contains 10.1.5 patch information.
Can you ping armmf.adobe.com and check if it's pinging akamai server ? I believe there's some hosts file or so which is redirecting it to some other location.
Alternatively you can try downloading the catalogs from https URL (since hosts file can't redirect https request, and will minimize any such error)

Specified Database not available
Hi All:
when i am trying to start concurrent manager service i am getting following error
"The Specified Database is not available" but the database service has started in fine. After that i am tried to connect sqlplus there also i am getting the above mentioned error..please any one can help to solve this issue ...In order for you to check environment variables in windows, check the advanced system properties, at the environment variables section. There you will see declared the PATH environment variable.
The default ORACLE_SID can be explicitly set at the DOS prompt or it can be verified from the windows registry. The ORACLE_HOME is declared at the windows registry too. The default Oracle Home is the one that appears first declared in the PATH environment variable.
On the other hand, do you have further log files, such as the alert.log where more detailed error messages are recorded

BUG: JDev 10.1.3 ADF BC Synchronize With Database not available
I am using the "Business Components from Tables" wizard to create my ADF model.
If I specify a package that is 3 nodes deep (a.b.model) then JDev creates a structure that looks like this...
Applications
--MyApplication
----Model
------Application Sources
--------a.b.model
If I specify a package that is 4 nodes deep (a.b.c.model) then JDev creates an extra level in the Navigator like this....
Applications
--MyApplication
----Model
------Application Sources
--------a.b.c
----------model
The side effect of this extra level is that the "Synchronize With Database" option is no longer available when bringing up the context menu for either the "a.b.c" node or the "model" node.
BobThe problem appears to not be with the Wizard.
Instead, the problem is tied to the Navigator Flat Level control.
If I increase the flat level to a point where the entire package appears in a single Navigator node, then the "Synchronize with Database" context menu item is available.
If the flat level is decreased to a point that the package splits into multiple Navigator nodes then the context meny item is no longer available.

Database not available Backupserver instance not available
Hi all
I'm new to SAP Sybase ASE i installed a ECC6 with SYBASE database15 while starting the server the DB is not going to up and i could not find any proper solution and i'm attaching the logs please help to clear the issue.
Regards,
Chidananda.Hi Chidananda,
According to your attaching files, ASE instance and backup server instance were running on the machine....
Why don't you check first the ASE process using showserver command as below with sapadmin user or sybase admin user.
#showserver
if dataserver(ASE) and backup server are running on the machine you can see the process as a result of showserver command.
1.if there is a dataserver process you can check the connection to the DB instance with R3trans as below.
#R3trans -d
This is R3trans version 6.24 (release 742 - 11.08.14 - 17:21:00).
unicode enabled version
R3trans finished (0000).
2.if there is no dataserver process, restart the SAP instance or DB instance using stopsap/startsap
#startsap or startsap db
Checking syb Database
Database is running

ABAP Queries not available after upgarde from 4.6C to ECC 6.0
Hi All,
We have upgraded from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 version. There is some problem with the ABAP queries. The ABAP queries created in 4.6C were assigned to a Ztcode and now after the upgrade when we execute the Ztcode we are getting the error
that the program does not exist.
I tried to regenerate the code ( a new program name is generated) but there are differences in the selection screen (like the output format etc) between the two versions.
I looked into the relevant SAP notes also but could not find any solution.
Could any of you suggest any ideas to generate abap queries after upgrade?hi,

ABAP System not available in SLD?
Hello,
We're having a very strange problem with one of our systems in that it will not register in the SLD. It is a BW 7.0 system and RZ70 and SLDAPICUST are both configured correctly and SLDCHECK shows that everything is working as expected. Yet, when you log onto the SLD, the system simply is not there in the Technical ABAP Systems. But, the Java side is working fine in that it does show up under Technical Java Systems.
Any ideas of what might be happening?
Thanks,
TomJust an update. When I try to maually register the system in the SLD, I get an error at the end that says: CIM_ERR_ALREADY_EXISTS... It sounds like it is doing the self registration, but just isn't visible for some reason.
edit - well, it appears that the process of trying to manually register the system, eventhough it failed, tweaked something such that the system is self registering now and everything appears to be normal. not sure what was going on, but things appear OK now.
