NetWeaver Sneak Preview ABAP or Java Stacks... [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloads]
    Greetings,
    Blag.

  • Sap Demo environment in a box?

    Hello.
I'm looking for a very easy sap demo environment in a box (single server / vmware image). It's not to show a lot of sap backend related features, we only need to connect with sapgui / browser to show something.
    So I'm looking for a
    1. ECC 5 with some data to show /PO /SP /GR55 for example.
Not a lot of business stuff. Only to show one transaction with excel integration
    2. Enterprise Portal.
Should be possible to import an iview and show some other EP default iviews. Don't need business data in the portal.
Is there a way to get something like a preconfigured Portal + ECC? Also a automated installer with a demo configuration would be great. Do you know a partner who can provide something like that (germany)
    Thanks in advance.
    Danny

The sneak previews will be you best bet.  It really doesn't take a genius to install either of them.  First install the ABAP side,  then install the java side.  There are some weblogs which will walk your thru the entire process.  And if any problems come up, most likely they have been seen before and solved right here on SDN.  Just search the forums.
    /people/sugree.phatanapherom/blog/2005/08/01/a-visual-installation-guide-on-sneak-preview-sap-netweaver-04-java-edition
    /people/sugree.phatanapherom/blog/2005/08/17/a-visual-installation-guide-on-sneak-preview-sap-netweaver-04-abap-edition
With these systems, you will be able to demo the Excel integration(transaction code DWDM) as well as the portal frontend.

  • SAML Sender Vouches Assertion in ABAP only environment

    All u2013 apologies for a length postu2026
subject: Standard logon - SAML Authentication (logon using SAML).
We are testing if an external app u2013 like Oralce (consumer), can render a web service via SAML assertion into an AS ABAP (provider) environment. Per OSS note 1254821, we have setup a trusted environment, and were able to successfully test a bapi function via Certificate Authentication (logon using a client certificate), one of the standard logons.
This test validates that the SOAP message can be processed through SAP, from the secured transport layer to decrypting and processing the SOAP message.
When we move to test the SAML assertion piece, we are not able to find the logon of u201CSAML Authenticationu201D via the standard logon through trnx SICF.
We nonetheless moved to test with all the available logon options without success:
    1     Fields Authentication
    2     SSO Authentication
    3     Basic Authentication
    4     SAP Authentication
5     Certificate Authentication (we deactivated the USEREXTIDu2019s DN user)
    6     Service Authentication
While researching, we come across that there should be a u201CSAML Authenticationu201D standard logon option, yet this is not available in our test system.
Our system information is as follow:
    SAP ECC 6.0
    SAP_BASIS      700      SAPKB70017
    SAP_ABA         700      SAPKA70017
We are testing in an ABAP stack environement.
We have crossed reference with note 1254821, and have satisfied all the requirements.
We expect the standard logon to contain the u201CSAML Authenticationu201D through SICF since we have configured the web service through SOAMANAGER using u201CSAML 1.1. Sender Vouches Assertionu201D.
    Question:
Is u201CSAML Authenticationu201D standard logon necessary to facilitate the SAML sender vouches solution (we have only AS ABAP)?
If needed, what configuration, or support pack we need to be on.
Better yet, have anyone out there make it work? If so, please share.
    Thanks much,
    Alex

    Hi Jens,
yes, it's  keystore view TicketKeystore. The idea is that a logon ticket trust suffices to get the SAML 1.1 Sender Vouches trust as well.
The next thing you should take care of is to make sure that your SAP Portal system trusts the SAML issuer of your SAML assertion. This is to be configured in NetWeaver Administrator under Configuration Management  Security >  Trusted Systems. There you add the issuer string of your SAML Assertion into the Trusted Partners section.
Please follow paragraph "Configuring the Trusted Partners (Provider)" on this documentation link for details: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/48/b264916b156ff4e10000000a42189b/frameset.htm
Another thing. Please see that for SOAP Web Services SAP (both AS ABAP and AS Java) for Sender-Vouches only SAML 1.1 is supported. Holder-of-key SAML assertions are supported with SAML 1.1 and SAML 2.0.

    Mathias

  • ECC 6.0 Webdynpro for ABAP development environment

    Hello,
We are currently running ECC 5.0 and ABAP stack is only available as of ECC 6.0. Is is possible to download and install just ECC 6.0 development environment?
    Thanks,
    Alex

The ABAP development environement and runtime are integrated into the Business Suite release.  Therefore ECC 5.0 runs on top of NetWeaver 2004 (6.40) and ECC 6.0 runs on top of NetWeaver 7.0. There is no way to directly mix ECC/NetWeaver releases nor can you directly transport NetWeaver 7.0 objects (like Web Dynpro ABAP) to a 6.40 based system since the runtime wouldn't be present.
You can however install a standalone NetWeaver Systems. Then you would have a separate instance with the ABAP 7.0 developement and runtime environement.  You can use RFCs and Web Service Calls from this standalone system to read and write data to/from your ECC 5.0 system.  You give up some of the benefits (like the integrated DDic value-help).

  • ODI Demo Environment - Work Repository issue

I'm a newbie to ODI, and have downloaded the software and the demo environment (plus instructions). Setup seems to go fine, but when I get to the point where I should connect to the demo environment, I follow the instructions but am unable to type in WORKREP as the Working Repository - the field is greyed out, and I cannot proceed further.
I have started the demo environment using startdemo.bat, and everything else seems OK (or at least doesn't error) aside from this.
Am I correct in saying that the RCU does not need to be run, just to use the Demo Environment?
Please can anyone help? I would like to evaluate the product but have run up against this wall.
    Many thanks,
    Ian

    Hi,
I had similar issue on Windows..
    Solution,
    1) I downloaded jrockit SDK.
    2) Pointed JAVA_HOME to this installation
    3) Extract the demo folder (i.e. under <ODI_HOME> as odidemo)
    Start the agent.
Run ODI enter the details as described in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integrate.1111/e12641/start_odi.htm.
Specify the Oracle Data Integrator connection details as follows:
Login name: Getting Started - ETL Project
    User: SUPERVISOR
    Password: SUNOPSIS
Note that username and password are case sensitive.
Specify the Database Connection (Master Repository) details as follows:
    User: sa
This is the database user ID/login of the schema (database, library) that contains the ODI master repository
    Password: Leave this field empty.
Driver List: Select Hypersonic SQL Driver from the list.
This driver is required to connect to the DBMS supporting the master repository.
Driver Name: org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver [This is different when populated by ODI]
    URL: jdbc:hsqldb:hsql://localhost
         or
jdbc:hsqldb:hsql://<<hostip>>:<port>:<sid> (if you have db installed on different box)

  • Free Abap Development Environment

    Hi,
I use to develop in ABAP on SAP R/3 4.6C at work.
I would like to know if it's possible to have a free version of R/3 or NetWeaver to learn more about ABAP programming at home and to learn about how to developp using .NET/ JAva technlologies with ABAP.
I eared about something called 'MiniWas ' but didn't find how to download it and what I can exactly I can do with it
    Regards,
    Morgan Bourgeois

Yes, I feel your pain Morgan, It can be confusing.  I will try to hit all of your doubts here.
First the Sneak Preview that I pointed you to, is a MiniWas,  you get all of the technology layer(basis) including the ABAP  runtime, development envirnoment/tools,  and everything that you had in previouse miniwas.  Not sure why they have it listed the way they do, it is a little confusing.  But they maybe pointing out the fact that this is the first miniwas where ABAP WebDynpro has been included.  This is just like the WebDynpro Java, but on the ABAP stack.  In this version you also get the new ABAP Editor, new debugger, and the ALV Object Model.  The latter was available in the 6.40 version also.
This miniwas only have the technology layer, no functional modules of R/3 like PP, MM, SD, VC, etc.
Please remember that Netweaver is the platform for which SAP solutions run on top of. It has two sides(stacks), the ABAP stack and java stack.  For example ECC(formerly R/3) runs on Netweaver, but on the ABAP stack.  The Netweaver Portal runs on the java stack, but can invoke iviews which use Web Dynpro components which have be developed on the ABAP stack. Of course, it can handle other apps as well includeing java and .net.
The netweaver portal is simple a frontend in which you can tie all of your applications, whether SAP or non-SAP into one place for the end user to access.  If you are accessing a backend system which is ECC(R/3), then yes, you would be calling a BAPI or RFC function module which is written in ABAP.  (I hope this is clear)
HTMLB is like an abstraction from regular HTML.  You can use this to develop your UI interface.  You can use this in Business Server Pages(which can also be ran in an iView of the Portal) or in the JSP DynPage applications(which again can be in an iView).    HTMLB is purely a UI technology which you can use in developing your applications.  WebDynpro does not allow for using HTMLB, or HTML, but it probabaly uses it underneath, because the HTMLB interface looks/feels the same as WebDynpro UI.
If you have more follow up questions, please ask.

  • ABAP Demo Programs with standards for coding

    Hello,
Like ABAPDOCU is there any transaction/program provided by SAP where general standards for coding are given.
    Regards,

I guess thats the tcode for going through examples in SAP.
Otherwise you may go through standard reports.
I can suggest you two links where you can get lots of programming examples of good quality.

  • ABAP exceptions!

    Hi!
Pls tell me a sample code in core abap exception handling
       ie using raise etc...
       one more thing
we can use this try endtry catch endcatch etc without using oops concept in abap.
      will it works
      looking for your reply.

    Hi,
Exceptions are situations that occur while an ABAP program is being executed, in which normal continuation of the program does not make any sense.
Exceptions can be raised either implicitly in the ABAP runtime environment or explicitly in the ABAP program.
For example, division by zero leads to an exception in the ABAP runtime environment. It is possible to determine this situation through a query in the ABAP program and to trigger an exception there.
See the demo program DEMO_HANDLE_EXCEPTIONS in se38.
    *--EXAMPLE FOR RUNTIME ERROR--
    *DATA : VALUE1 TYPE I.
    *VALUE1 = 1 / 0. "----
    >>>>>> IT MAKES RUN TIME ERROR.
    *WRITE : VALUE1.
*--EXAMPLE FOR HOW TO CATCH THE ARITHMETIC ERROR AT THE RUN TIME USING SUBRC--
    *DATA : VALUE1 TYPE I.
    *CATCH SYSTEM-EXCEPTIONS ARITHMETIC_ERRORS = 1.
    *VALUE1 = 1 / 0.
    *WRITE : VALUE1.
    *ENDCATCH.
    *IF SY-SUBRC = 1.
*WRITE : ' IT MAKES ERROR'.
    *ELSE.
    *WRITE : VALUE1.
    *ENDIF.
in abap program we handle exceptions based on value returned by the system variable SY-SUBRC.
    if SY-SUBRC = 0.
    means execution completed sucessfull.
    if SY-SUBRC = 1........n.
    means execution compleated not sucessfully.
    if sy-sbrc = 0.
    write:/ 'execution sucessfull.
**here write logic as per u r requirement
    else sy-subrc = '1'
    message
    elseif sy-subrc eq '2'
    message
    elseif sy-subrc eq '3'
    message
    elseif sy-subrc eq '4'
    message
    endif
    Messages are defined in SE91..
These messages are of 5 types..
    <b>A Termination Message</b>
The message appears in a dialog box, and the program terminates. When the user has confirmed the message, control returns to the next-highest area menu.
    <b>E Error Message</b>
Depending on the program context, an error dialog appears or the program terminates.
    <b>I (Information)</b>
The message appears in a dialog box. Once the user has confirmed the message, the program continues immediately after the MESSAGE statement.
    <b>S (Status Message)</b>
The program continues normally after the MESSAGE statement, and the message is displayed in the status bar of the next screen.
    <b>W (Warning)</b>
Depending on the program context, an error dialog appears or the program terminates.
    <b>X (Exit)</b>
No message is displayed, and the program terminates with a short dump. Program terminations with a short dump normally only occur when a runtime error occurs. Message type X allows you to force a program termination. The short dump contains the message ID.

  • HR ABAP dump - CX_SY_PROVIDE_TABLE_NOT_SORTED

    Hello Experts,
I'm executing a custom program and getting the following dump
    CX_SY_PROVIDE_TABLE_NOT_SORTED
    this is the code:
      sort lt_0147_results by perf_result_begda.
      sort lt_mbo_results by perf_result_begda.
ok - now have two tables that we can compare!
this is the line where the dump is generated.  --->provide fields * from lt_0147_results
                                                                                    into ls_0147 valid l_0147_valid
                                                                                    bounds perf_result_begda and perf_result_endda
                                                                                    fields * from lt_mbo_results
                                                                                    into ls_mbo valid l_mbo_valid
                                                                                    bounds perf_result_begda and perf_result_endda
                                                                                    between c_lowdate and endda.
Do you know why I'm getting this dump?
    Thank you in advance

    This is what SAP  says:
    CX_SY_PROVIDE_TABLE_NOT_SORTED
Cause: One of the involved tables is not sorted in ascending order by the intervals within extlim1 and extlim2.
    Reason?
    [provide fields|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPPROVIDE.htm]
The columns intliml1 intliml2 ... and intlimu1 intlimu2 ... in every row of the relevant internal tables must contain values that can be interpreted as limits of closed intervals. Within a table, the intervals specified in these columns must not overlap and must be sorted in ascending order by the primary table index. The intervals therefore make up a unique key for every row.
The ABAP runtime environment checks for every table involved, whether the condition of sorted and non-overlapping intervals is met within the interval made up by extliml and extlimu and, if necessary, triggers an exception that can be handled.
    Regards
    Marcin

  • ABAP Architecture...urgent

    Hi all,
Can any1 ans few of these ques:
1)Is the ABAP code interprted andconverted to C lang? as in thesetup we have a .dll file...
2)Is BASIS installed  only on Application server?
3)How to maintain foreignkey relationship for tables?
    Thanx

    hi,
The R/3 System allocates presentation, applications, and data storage to different computers. This
serves as the basis for the scalability of the R/3 system.
The lowest level is the database level. Here data is managed with the help of a relational database
management system (RDBMS). In addition to master data and transaction data, programs and the metadata that describe the R/3 System are stored and managed here.
ABAP programs run at the application level, both the applications provided by SAP and the ones you develop yourself. ABAP programs work with data called up from the database level and store new data there as well.
The third level is the presentation level (SAPGUI). This level contains the user interface, in which an end user can access an application, enter new data and receive the results of a work process.
ABAP programs are processed on the application server. The design of the user dialogs and the database dialogs is therefore of particular importance when writing application programs.
    SAP basis
The ABAP language environment, including the syntax checking, code generation and runtime system, is part of the SAP Basis component. SAP Basis is the technological platform that supports the entire range of SAP applications, now typically implemented in the framework of the SAP Web Application Server. In that sense SAP Basis can be seen as the "operating system" on which SAP applications run. Like any operating system, SAP Basis contains both low-level services (for example memory management, database communication or servicing Web requests) and high-level tools for end users and administrators. These tools can be executables ("SAP kernel") running directly on the underlying operating system, transactions developed in ABAP, or Web-based interfaces.
SAP Basis also provides a layer of abstraction between the business applications and the operating system and database. This ensures that applications do not depend directly upon a specific server or database platform and can easily be ported from one platform to another.
SAP Basis currently runs on UNIX (AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux), Microsoft Windows, i5/OS on IBM System i (formerly iSeries, AS/400) and z/OS on IBM System z (formerly zSeries, S/390). Supported databases are DB2, Informix, MaxDB, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server (support for Informix was discontinued in SAP Basis release 7.00).
Where does the ABAP program run?
All ABAP programs reside inside the SAP database. They are not stored in separate external files like Java or C++ programs. In the database all ABAP code exists in two forms: source code, which can be viewed and edited with the ABAP Workbench tools, and generated code, a binary representation somewhat comparable with Java bytecode. ABAP programs execute under the control of the runtime system, which is part of the SAP kernel. The runtime system is responsible for processing ABAP statements, controlling the flow logic of screens and responding to events (such as a user clicking on a screen button). A key component of the ABAP runtime system is the Database Interface, which turns database-independent ABAP statements ("Open SQL") into statements understood by the underlying DBMS ("Native SQL"). The database interface handles all the communication with the relational database on behalf of ABAP programs; it also contains extra features such as buffering of frequently accessed data in the local memory of the application server.
SAP has three different layers as presentation layer (GUI), application layer (programs run on this) and data base layer where all data is stored and retrieved from user driven conditions, commands given by end user programmer through presentation layer.
    For foreign key realtions.

  • After creating Peopletools 8.52, FSCM 9.0 Demo PSSTATUS table shows 8.48

    Hi
I am building the new demo environment for Finance.
    PeopleTools 8.52
    FSCM 9.0
on unicode database with Demo option. But running the datamover scripts, PSSTATUS table still shows 8.48.
    Any Ideas ?
    Thanks,

Actually the reason why it is showing 8.48 is because FSCM 9.0 have application database version 8.48 and you are installing peopletools 8.52 so you need to update your database setup by running some peoplesoft delivered sql scripts.
Refer the installation guide for Peopletools 8.52 http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26530_01/psft/acrobat/PeopleTools_8.52_Installation_Oracle.pdf
In chapter 7 the very first topic describes it very well.
    In short go to PS_HOME\scripts
    and find following scripts...
    Required Scripts for Non-Unicode Databases
    rel849, rel850, rel851, and rel852
Note. If you are installing a 9.0 or higher application, run rel849n, rel850n,
    rel851n, and rel852n instead.
    Required Scripts for Unicode Databases
    rel849u, rel850u, rel851u, and rel852u
Note. If you are installing a 9.0 or higher application, run rel849un, rel850un,
    rel851un, and rel852un instead.
