ABAP MAPPING PROGRAM TRANSPORTATION ISSUE

Hi Experts,
Our issue is as following:
Already one ABAP mapping program is there in our DEV and in QA also.
Now we have changes the code according to some requirement.
Now we need to reflect the same in QA also.
For that I have certain doubts.
1) after releasing the request number in R/3, will it effect there in integration builder of the QA?
2) Is there any need to do in ADMINISTRATION to reflect the same?
Please revert urgenly.

I have one new ABAP mapping program which is not used till now in any interface mapping in ID of XI.
now want use this my integration builder ID in as mapping program.
in this case is any requirement to enable the same in Integration ADMINISTRATION tab.

Cyrillic characters issue in ABAP mapping

Hello Experts,
I am using ABAP mapping program to convert IDOC XML to flat file. Further i am using FIle adapter to write this file on FTP server.
My problem is:
When Idoc contains CYRILLIC characters in payload, then these characters appear as "#" after the mapping has executed.
If I check in SXMB_MONI in XI, the inbound payload displays data correctly. In "Request Message mapping" node, if I check the output of ABAP mapping program, then cyrillic characters are replaced with "#". The same "#" is then written to File.
Do you have any idea, how do i deal with this problem.
NOTE: I tried passing encoding type = UTF-8 to the function - SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING which is used the mapping program to set the encoding type, but it did not work.

@PI Expert: I tried to debug the ABAP mapping using SXI_MAPPING_TEST transaction, however when I paste my payload in the editor, the cyrillic characters appear as junk characters. Due to this, in the output, these junk characters are appear as "#"
@Sarvesh: I too initially thought that this could be problem with AL11, that it is not displaying the data correctly. However when I checked the "Request Message Mapping" node in SXMB_MONI, it showed "#" characters. Also the .csv file generated contains "#" only.

ABAP Mapping - Message shown in Standard Change List Process Log

I am working with ABAP Mapping program. I had created ABAP class using ABAP workbench. Before this, in exchangeProfile..data was provided for com.sap.aii.repository.mapping.additionaltypes ==>> as " R3_ABAP|Abap-class;R3_XSLT|XSL (ABAP Engine) " and 'Saved'.
In Interface Mapping, after providing the Class Name under 'Mapping Program' and activated. After activation (Standard Change List), it is showing the following messages under 'Processing Log'.

The log says that there is ABAP mapping included in your exchange profile. Do the things what michal have told and also check your mapping program whether working fine or not in SXI_MAPPING transaction.

I have standard XSLT mapping programs available for my scenarios, so use XSLT mapping. Similarly with Java mapping, For most scenarios, message mapping does the job too well. Abap mapping similarly is used to leverge existing ABAP base. If message mapping becomes confusing and hard to follow with too many functions, I go for Java mapping (just my way). I havent used ABAP mapping thus far.
Discussing ABAP mapping
ABAP mapping is developed in ABAP work bench. ABAP mapping needs to be transported to integration server and XI does not support this transport and have to do with ABAP transports.
Customers who can develop mapping program on SAP web AS and can transport them there can use ABAP mapping
*ABAP mapping programs cannot access the value table
*Since ABAP mappings are executed on ABAP stack SAP does not provide any ABAP mapping programs
*ABAP mapping programs must exists with one single version in IS, unlike JAva and XSLT mapping that can have multiple versions of mapping program

Variable Substitution not working when using ABAP mapping

Hi all,
I am doing an IDoc to File scenario.
Due to some complex mapping requirements, i had to use ABAP mapping for IDoc to File ( IDoc : SHPMNT05)
There is also one more requirement where in i need to generate the receiver filename dynamically
i.e the filename is of the form :
GW-XYZ-DD/MM/YYYY.csv
Where
XYZ is the Shipment number (E1EDT20- TKNUM)
DD/MM/YYYY is the IDOC creation date in ECC (EDIDC-CREDAT)
so i used the variable substitution option in receiver file adapter.
But its not working.
Is there any limitation for using the variable Substitution, doesnt variable substitution work in case of ABAP mapping?

u written ABAP mapping program to get the file name in the required format ,
is it rt?
when u test it at message mapping(including ABAP map program)
u get the the required format of file name in the one of target filed.
if that was fine, please check the variable substituiton parameters at receiver file adapter.
i mean, are u maintain variable name and refernece.
u have to specify the payload information.

Java mapping can be used when you have complex mapping structures.
We can do most of the times for our requirements through Graphical mapping.
When the structures are very complex to build you can go for SAX (Simple API for XML) or DOM (Document Object Model) parsers.
Message mapping internally generates DOM parser.

You need to provide the name of your mapping program maually , you see it is an input box.
just provide the name of abap mapping program it will work.
and one more thing you cannot test abap mapping program in integration builer you need to test in abap only.
use tcode: SXI_MAPPING_TEST for testing abap mapping

Receiver determintation using Abap Mapping

Hi,
I configured a scenario in which I'm using extended receiver determination to determine the receiver of an incoming message. (The reason for this is that there is only one XI system and two ECC systems - DEV and QAS. By means of the setting in a customizing table it can be determined whether the message is sent to DEV or QAS. The message can't be sent to both systems because it is a synchronous interface). The receiver determination calls an Interface Mapping which has target interface Receiver Determination. I made an Abap Mapping program in which the customize table is read and the output message is formed as follows (according to the structure of the Receivers message):

To fill the RESULT field a stream factory is instantiated and a XSTRING is created. When I send a message to the system, the receiver determination dumps: Error when parsing receiver listLength of XML document 129 Error when parsing receiver listLength of XML Document 129 System expected the element 'Receivers'
Looks like the XSTRING has not got the right structure and can not be parsed into the Receivers message. However, when I create a CSTRING, the message looks OK. I also changed the encoding (Codepage 4103).
When I replace the Abap mapping with a message mapping, the receiver determination works OK. However, in that case it is not possible to read the customizing table. I really need the Abap mapping.
Has anyone ever filled the Receivers massage by means of Abap mapping. Any feedback will be appreciated!

there is a easier way - totally based on my blogs
create an abap mapping that will feed the dynamicconfiguration in ABAP (with z "Z" namespace) - similar thing shown in my blog

and you don't need to create the XML in ABAP mapping just parse it, fill DC and send the same source to the target
(so you don't change the XML)

ABAP MAPPING CHALLENGE IN XI

I need to split messages depending upon the message area.I have already created ABAP mapping class that creates one big file in the output.However now I need to split the messages into different files according to Business Area.
Is it possible that I can I use this methods below inside the loop and endloop statements when I build the XML document using XML DOM Processor.

We are able to output the XML properly with Messages/Message1 tags etc in ABAP mapping program. used SXI_MAPPING_TEST to make sure no errors.
In interface mapping, I had changed target interface to "0 to unbounded", also selected "enhanced" in Interface determination, activated the changes.
Now, scenrio fails with "uncaught exception in ABAP mapping".
We are pretty close to solution I guess. please help.

Webservice to Idoc/File using ABAP mapping

Hi Experts,
I need your expert advise on below scenario.The flow of the scenario is..
1)I will get a control record from a webservice(SOAP sender adpater), this initiates the process flow.
2)based on control record ,The ABAP mapping program will call a program(within the PI sys) to fetch the data from DB table.then the ABAP mapping program will have to create 2 messages for the target. One is IDoc and another one is File.
Pls suggest the best approach.

what i am going to do is, I will this main program from abap mapping by passing the control record information.based on this control record,the main program will fetch data for ABAP mapping.From ABAP mapping, i have to generate 2 messages,one for IDOc and another one is for File.

Debug an abap-mapping

how can I debug an abap-mapping?
I cannot take the test-tool of Michal Krawczyk or SXMB_MAPPING_TEST, because I need the original payload of the mail-sender (with dynamic configurations and all payload-attachments).
I have to debug it realy inside the intergration engine.

In your SE80 settings you can define for which user you want to activate the external break point. maybe you will temporarily have to change the user type form service to dialog.
if you are unsure about the user you can find out the user in your abap mapping program by reading sy-uname and then throw a type X message with userid as message parameter.
