HR deals with the INFOTYPES which are similar to Tables in General ABAP.
There are different ways of fetching data from these infotypes.
There are different areas in HR LIKE Personal Admn, Orgn Management, Benefits, Time amangement, Event Management, Payroll etc
Infotypes for these areas are different from one another area.
storing of records data in each type of area is different
LDBS like PNP are used in HR programing.
Instead of Select.. we use some ROUTINES and PROVIDE..ENDPROVIDE.. etc
and in the case of Pay roll we use Clusters and we Import and Export them for data fetching.
On the whole Normal ABAP is different from HR abap.
For Personal Admn the Infotypes start with PA0000 to PA1999
Time Related Infotypes start with PA2000 to PA2999.
Orgn related Infotypes start with HRP1000 to HRP1999.
All custom developed infotypes stsrat with PA9000 onwards.
In payroll processing we use Clusters like PCL1,2,3 and 4.
Instead of Select query we use PROVIDE and ENDPROVIDE..
You have to assign a Logical Database in the attributes PNP.
Go through the SAp doc for HR programming and start doing.

Looks that this is caused by setting the height of the div.bottom-wrapper to 100% and that causes the div.bottom-links-wrapper to appear at the wrong position (i.e in the middle of the page).
If I disable the height: 100% !important rule (why even an important flag?) with the Style editor (Inspect Element) then the page appears correctly.

Practice exercises for ABAP

Hello,
i have been learning abap for almost 2 months now and I have been doing a lot of in book tutorials. I was wondering are if there were any resources or study flow that needs to be followed. Like in java the persons first program is a hello world print statement , which is followed by loops , data structures, oops , etc. and also there are boat loads of practice exercises on the web . I was just wondering if such a thing or place exists on the web for abap. As I am planning to write the taw10 certification , I just wanted to make sure I well equipped for the exam and future interviews .

Memory Leak in terminateConnection() function. How to resolve it ???

We are facing a memory leak issue in terminateConnection() function. Here is a sample code regarding that. We have run around 1.5 hours simultaneously and it was consuming around 250MB for this simple program. How could I resolve this problem ?

Purpose
As of SAP NetWeaver 04 (in SAP Web Application Server), you can use a new solution to create interactive forms and print forms for the optimization of your form-based business processes. This solution uses Portable Document Format (PDF) and software from Adobe Systems Inc. that has been integrated into the SAP environment.
You can create interactive forms in PDF format that allow users to fill out the form on the screen and save their entries in XML format in the form. When the SAP system receives the PDF form, it extracts the data saved in the form, and can process it further.
You can also merge a form template with current system data to generate a PDF document that can then be printed or sent by e-mail.
SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe offer you the following business advantages:
●      Interactive functions automate the creation of data for SAP systems
●      Full integration into the SAP development environments for Java and ABAP
●      User-friendly tools reduce the time and costs associated with creating form layouts.
●      The usage of the PDF format means that forms retain their appearance regardless of the environment they are used in.

Implementation Considerations

Integration
SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe is included in SAP Web Application Server and can be used by any applications that are based on SAP NetWeaver 04 or later.
The following Adobe software is included in the form solution:
●      Adobe LiveCycle Designer
A graphical tool for designing form layouts; it is integrated into SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio and ABAP Workbench.

Web services used to generate the PDF forms at runtime; in interactive scenarios, they extract the XML data from the form and send it to the system.
Adobe Document Services run on SAP J2EE Engine. This means that you must install the Java Stack of SAP Web Application Server, regardless of the development language of your application (ABAP or Java).

SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe offer the following basic functions:

There are two basic types of forms:
Interactive Forms
For business processes that require close cooperation between employees, you can design interactive forms as a part of a Web Dynpro application.
You can use the following development environments:
●      Interactive Forms in Web Dynpro for Java in SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
●      Interactive Forms in Web Dynpro for ABAP in ABAP Workbench
These forms can contain dropdown menus, pushbuttons, text fields, and other elements that enable users to enter data. The form is generated in PDF format, which, for example, can be displayed by the user in a browser. The user uses Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat to fill out the form and saves the changes made to the form in XML format. The SAP system extracts the data from the form and saves it to the database, where it can be processed further.
You can use these forms in two basic scenarios:
●      Online
The user is logged on to the SAP system when he or she fills out the form.
●      Offline
The user is not logged on to the SAP system when he or she fills out the form. Once the form has been filled out, the user sends it to the issuer of the form, for example by e-mail. The SAP system of the issuer then extracts the data from the form.
Forms for Printing, E-Mail, or Fax
You can use the Form Builder (integrated into ABAP Workbench) to create PDF-based print forms that you can then print or send by e-mail or fax. When you create these print forms, you can rely on the tried and trusted principle of separate data retrieval and form layout processes. This enables you to make changes to either one of the processes, without affecting the other.

Posting a request for a new forum in this, the Suggestion Forum, is the proper place for such a request. Thanks for taking the time to do so.
Creating a new forum usually is done under the following conditions:
1) There is a critical mass of content in a particular area and the collaboration team sees that the creation of a new fourm would best service discussions of that area. (by critical mass, we mean hundreds of references to a topic)
2) There are requests from a number of community members with some very clear justifications around why such a new forum would be of value to the community.
(we also would hope that the requestors are active members of the community and actively engaged in using the forums)
3) The collaboration team sees a new direction or subject evolving and provides a forum for discussing it or a subject becomes so large that it would be better to subdivide it into subcategories. (these requests are trends and we try to avoid creating new forums without being sure there will be active conversation to populate them)
4) The product management gives us moderation support or there is enough subject matter expertise in the community to create a community led moderation of an area.
A user can do a search on forums to see examples of such critical mass that warrants its own space. For example, when subdividing the ABAP forum we searched for key words that were appearing hundreds of times in the general forum and began to create the ability to move discussions to subareas of the ABAP topic for Enhancements, Data Transfer, Dictionary, Form Printing. Although we did so, people still persist in posting to the ABAP general forum
We also got community help and support from a number of top contributors in an area as to what topics were constantly recurring. And lastly and importantly, we turned to subject matter experts internally to get feedback, definition, advice.
All that being said, we would ask our community to consider:
1) Is there enough interest in Service Management to create a separate group around this?
2) Is there enough existing conversation around this topic to move it to such a new area
3) Is it clear under exactly which catergory this falls: SCM, CRM, PM and how to know exactly what is meant by Service Management (I did a search in help.sap.com and wasn't really sure)
Each forum needs a contract that states what kind of content we wish to have discussed there. That is a prerequisite.
In light of all these comments, please see if your idea meets the criteria: critical mass, clear definition of what is to be discussed, interest of the community.

How to land up in XI?

Gurus,
I am SAP XI certified but I do not have any practical SAP experience (not even as ABAPer). I have good idea about various ABAP topics. I have many years of IT experience (non-SAP technologies).
I am looking for junior level XI positions and I am not really concerned about salary.
But I am not able to find any junior positions. Can anybody suggest how I can start my career as XI developer?

     It really seems interesting that you have cleared your XI certification but not have practical knowledge of XI. You must be a extraintelligent guy, nice work.
     To get knowledge about XI you should go through the various scenarios in XI. As you are XI certified then atleast you must have basic knowledge of it. Now start doing practical examples that how XI work in several situations and how does it process internally while working with any scenario.

ABAP Certification - What exactly means the "dynamic programming" topic?

Hi all,
Actually i´m studying for my ABAP exam and i´d like to know what exactly means dynamic programming(of ABAP Advanced topic, take a look at http://www50.sap.com/useducation/certification/curriculum.asp?rid=493&vid=5).
Is it only about creating a new program dynamically? or anything else? I just want to know where will be my focus on it.

Dynamic programming could refer to a number of things, but here I assume that it refers to such things like, creating a dynamic internal table at runtime, and/or using RTTS, or it could mean, simply using fields symbols.

     In ABAP programming, the topic INTERFACE is usually involved . But for me,actually,I do not have clear recognition on it. What does the interface stand for , BAPI, RFC ,or something else?
