Dear Mr c.a sanjeev mehndiratta  fi certified "person" working in a sap support team,
If u want to get into an IT company, walk up to the security guards stationed outside the IT company of your choice and tell them you want to implement ABAP. If the security gaurd is as dumb as you, he may allow you in, to meet the HR Manager.
And now again if the HR manager is as dumb as the security guard, he may offer u a job. And now if the PM is as dumb as the HR Manager he may put u on an implementation project. Once on the inside, u can contact me. Then i can help u "earn" so much abap tht u dont have to take any "miror help from any abaper in a team".
Also i think you have done a major career blunder in ur life. after doing ur Bsc Comp Science and before doing a CA u should have done a MSc Electronics and an MPhil in Political Science. By the way u can still do a PhD in Phsycology.
Its only after doing all this would ur career shift from SAP FI certified person to ABAP earner be justified.
Good Luck to u and Good Luck to the people hiring and working with u.

    Dear sir
Thank you very much. I am not a computer davy. still I ail try to explain. I am in Chennai India. My service provider is BSNL. I have a broadband connection wit 4 mb speed - though I get only 3 to 3.3 mb. The TC is connected to the modem *** router through ethernet in wired LAN1 socket. My iMac is connected to the modem in LAN2 socket through either net. Though the TC is permanently connected to the modem-router, it gets connected to the internet only if it is shown in the dock. If it is exited from the doc, it loses internet connection. I tried factory reset. Still the same problem. Therefore, unless the iMac is open and the Tc is shown in the dock, TC is not connected to the internet. Therefore all the time iMac need to be open and running. I hope, eih little knowledge I have explained. Thank you
    S KANNAN
    IRS(RETD)

The TC is perhaps in the wrong mode..
If you have a modem router the TC should be connected by ethernet and the computer plugged into the TC not the modem.
TC will be in bridge mode.. but it can lose connection on a daily basis.. if you have that issue downgrade the firmware as later firmware is not reliable.
I recommend 7.6.1 but the earlier ones are better on 7.5.2 .. anything more than 18mths old should go back to 7.5 firmware.

But you might search for other subjects in that list and then call them to find out about Digital Publishing. Most likely training providers know each other and an recommend.

  • Difference between SAP BC ABAP and SAP ABAP Training

What is the basic difference between SAP BC ABAP and SAP ABAP Training ?
Can any one answer these? I am little confused about the learning material I searched on internet and the course provided. It has similar topics but different name. I have course like SAP ABAP ECC 6.0 (TAW10 and TAW12) but on search I also found SAP BC ABAP beside this.

    Hello
SAP BC means SAP Business Connector
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/6f/1bd5c2a85b11d6b28500508b5d5211/content.htm
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAP_Business_Connector
So you can know SAP BC ABAP is ABAP for SAP BC
SAP ABAP/4 is a program lanuague
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABAP
    For ABAP certification
TAW10 and 12 are the right materials.

  • Further ABAP Training Sought

    Hi
I recently completed this course and am currently looking to further my knowledge via online training. I'm looking for an experienced abap trainer who can provide CV and references. My budget is £1000.

    Hi Klaus
I believe, still it will be the best way to take SAP standard course BC400 "ABAP Workbench Foundations" for <b>basic</b> understanding of ABAP. You can also prefer to have some <a href="https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/011000358700003273662004">training on "Business Integration Technology"</a>.
You can check out the SAP Education site and/or education section of your country site of SAP.

  • SAP ABAP Online Training | Online SAP ABAP Training in usa, uk, Canada, Malaysia, Australia, India, Singapore.

SAP ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming) is one of the most sought-after modules of SAP. In accordance with its manifold returns the trend for training of SAP ABAP Online Training  is constantly on a sharp upsurge.
In the first phase of the SAP ABAP Online Training the core emphasis is laid upon the general outline of the SAP. To get more specific, the learner is precisely told about the multifarious modules of the SAP ABAP Online Training (just a basic know-how, no detailed analysis). Furthermore the ERP and ABAP review is being presented. Some spotlight is also being flung on the design and database layout etc.
In the next phase, SAP ABAP Online Training  is taught in pretty much detailed and comprehensive manner. Learner is being showered with loads of information on data glossary, control reports etc. This phase by large involves much of the programming, reports, tasks, controls, counting, tables and arrangements etc. The student also gets specific knowledge with regard to the avowal of variables.

    Mari,
If you want to search in a specific column of the internal table, you will have to copy the contents of just that column to another internal table and submit a search on the second internal table.
You haven't told us how you have coded, but if you are trying to use offset parameters, it is probably not designed for your requirement.
In my opinion, the statement is intended to search in an internal table containing long text data. In your case, you are probably better off looping on the itab and submitting a find on the specific column.

  • SAP Netweaver, ABAP Training info

I am a newbie to the SAP World...But experienced developer in another ERP product....interested in learning SAP BASIS, and ABAP.
Which Training courses from SAP I need to take... [Only the essential modules]

    Hi Senthil,
Because you have experience developing, certification in ABAP is actually quite important for you. (This is contrary to the advice that I give to folks who have no experience. For them, getting some kind of experience first is more important. But in your case, certification is the key.)  You are shooting for C_TAW12_731. Check the Certification Details tab for which topics are covered on the exam and which classes teach those topics.
TAW10 and TAW12 are streamlined courses that teach basically all of the courses on this track as two two-week courses (total of 4 weeks) rather than a series of 1 week courses. If you are good at self-study (and have an extra $11k lying around, you can also use TAW1E to get the same material.
This page is supposed to show graphically that taking TAW10 + TAW12 is equivalent to taking all of the classes on the right. Ignore the fact that NET310 is shown before BC400. BC400 is actually a prerequisite for NET310. This is actually the best picture and even it doesn't give a very good roadmap.
    So, here's the short version:
BC400 + BC430 = minimum. This will teach the basics of ABAP plus the data dictionary. Once you get that much, you can go in different directions. There are some specialties within ABAP life.
BC405 - Reports. There are some people that right reports all day long, every day, for decades. Some would say that this is not a great area, that BW has taken over for ABAP reporting. I tell you that ABAP reports tend to be used for tactical reporting while BW is used for strategic reporting. It's a larger discussion, but my opinion is that there is still significant development every day on reporting. I'd love to hear others chime in on this since I'm a Basis guy and not a developer.
BC410, BC425 & BC427 - Enhancements. This means creating new screens for end users to use that do something that SAP doesn't already do. Most companies try to stick with "vanilla" SAP, but many companies still end up creating custom screens and processes for things they do that aren't covered in the way they'd like by SAP.
Those are probably your two choices to begin with. The traditional development mnemonic is WRICEF or RICEFW, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflow. The classes outlined above cover Reports and Enhancements and probably enough ABAP to handle some interfaces and conversions with guidance from a mentor. These days interfaces and conversions also involve Process Integration and Legacy System Migration Workbench (among other tools) which would be a bit of a gamble to try to reach for first.
As you can see, it's actually quite a bit more difficult to do this in the US than it is in India. The TAW10 and TAW12 classes are what you would get from an Institute (SAP Approved Education Provider) in India. Companies sometimes schedule TAW10/TAW12 in the US when they start a new implmentation and have a bunch of folks to teach at once and sometimes large consulting companies schedule a class when they do a new hire wave (not very frequent these days with the number of experienced ABAPers floating around). If you call the US training number (888-777-1727), you might be able to get on a waiting list and be notified if/when a TAW10/TAW12 series is scheduled in the US.
If you're in a hurry, then BC400 is the place to start. Also, you should download a copy of the "Trial version" of SAP ECC so you can practice ABAP on your own. You could buy a book and self study. It only costs $500 to take the exam in the US, you don't have to have any formal training first. If you can find someone to train you one-on-one, that might also be a way to go.
BC 401, BC402, and NET31 are all advanced forms of ABAP that you'll want to learn eventually, but in the spirit of crawl before you walk, should be taken after you've learned the basics and programmed on it for a while.
It looks like both BC400 and BC430 are offered for FREE through the SAP Learning Hub. Here's a list of all classses offered. There are three links at the bottom of the list that lead to blogs that explain how to get access. If you're going to try this, you'll definitely need the Trial version so you can do the exercises.
I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck! An alternative approach would be to use the programming skills you currently have to get hired at a company that already runs SAP and then, over time, let it be known that you'd like to learn ABAP and support SAP. The company would then pay to train you or at the very least have someone mentor you so you wouldn't have to do all of this out of your own pocket.
You might also be able to find a member of the SAP University Alliance that offers college classes in ABAP, but in my experience that's pretty hard to find. Most of the SUA programs are part of MBA programs and focus on functional topics.
    Best regards,
    --Tom

  • Purpose of instructor led training requirement for OCP?

What is the purpose of requiring OCP candidates to take an instructor led course? It all seems a bit random / superfluous. Costly too if one does not have an employer willing to pay for the training.
My Oracle Press "OCA/OCP Oracle Database 11g All-in-One Exam Guide" doesn't even hint that classes are a requirement for the OCP; the most said is: "The OCA qualification is based on two examinations; the OCP qualification requires passing a third examination." (pg. XXIX). An incomplete characterization, correct?
And "To prepare for the OCA/OCP examinations, you can attend Oracle University instructor-led training courses, you can study Oracle University online learning material, or you can read this book." (pg. XXIX). Prepare for the exams, sure. But why would such a book omit the not insignificant detail that a perhaps expensive course is required to get the OCP? Seems discourteous to the reader.
    From http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=244#5 via http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=198&p_org_id=&lang=
I say it seems random and superfluous because of the following list:
"These foundation courses meet the Hands On Course Requirement for OCP-Level certification:
    * Oracle Database 11g: Introduction to SQL
    * Oracle Database 11g: Introduction to SQL Ed 1 LVC
    * Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I
    * Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals l Ed 1 LVC
    * Oracle Database 11g: SQL and PL/SQL Fundamentals
    * Oracle Database 11g: SQL and PL/SQL Fundamentals Ed 1 LVC
    * Oracle Database 11g: Develop PL/SQL Program Units
    * Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop I
    * Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop I Ed 1.1 LVC
    * Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop II
    * Oracle Database 11g: Data Warehousing Fundamentals"
A modest Intro to SQL course will count? But an OCA will already have that knowledge. Obviously, one should choose a course with higher-level content. But I'm not sure I understand the logic of the OCA-grade courses being eligible. And for those funding certification without financial assistance from an employer, the question that suggests is this: what is the least expensive way to satisfy the "instructor led" course requirement? I cheapest price I see from Oracle is a 3 day class costing $1,800. It would also cost 3 days of vacation time, or unpaid leave, if an employer is not supportive of certification.

    Dana N wrote:
Thanks for your thoughtful reply Hans.
TO expose the candidate to techniques related to the new features rather than traditional techniques that are commonplace in the industry. That makes sense to me. But many of us like to tinker with new features on our own.In my experience, many, many more people want the OCP without doing any work. Some will use pure memorization or out and cheating to get there.
It's unfortunate that you and I get penalized by those.
    >
And to ensure that the has had at least some hands-on time, instead of only pure theory. While some people may get hands-on at work, many others do not
have that opportunityh, especially in the are of new features. Then it might make sense for OCP certification to allow submission of proof of work experience in place of the HOC, as is the case with other professional certifications.
    Yes, that would be nice.
But difficult to verify. and you would be surprised how many organizations have very narrow definitions of the job. Experimenting not allowed in some places.
It all seems a bit random / superfluous. Sad, from an instructors and OCP's point of view, to hear you think of it that way.I don't mean to say there isn't anything new any of us couldn't pick up, say, even from an Intro to SQL course. There's a vastness to most technology topics and we can't master every facet. But the cost/benefit ratio may be terribly low for those who are already Oracle professionals with many years of on the job experience. The reality as well is that some instructors are duds--that's the case anywhere. And for my learning style, I prefer self-guided / on-my-own study.
Costly too if one does not have an employer willing to pay for the training. No doubt.
My Oracle Press "OCA/OCP Oracle Database 11g All-in-One Exam Guide" doesn't even hint that classes are a requirement for the OCP; the most said is: "The
OCA qualification is based on two examinations; the OCP qualification requires passing a third examination." (pg. XXIX). An incomplete characterization, correct?A topic to discuss with the authors, and publisher. We (the user community with whom you are talking) have little to no control over this.Wonder if the authors participate in these forums. I realize you, as a user, have no control over this. But a book blessed by Oracle via Oracle Press, I respectfully submit, can and should do better--by including details about the HOC requirement.
Some do. But much more effetive would be to lodge a formal complaint or inquiry.
"These foundation courses meet the Hands On Course Requirement for OCP-Level certification:
...All of which will ensure you have had time becoming acquainted with SQLPLus, DBControl, and perhaps SQLDeveloper.I already use all 3 tools. Would love to take all the courses listed; but I'm not independently wealthy or otherwise.
    So would I. ;-)
As well as logging in (you would be surprised how many OCA candidates do not know how), these all give you an opportunity to issue SQL and PL/SQL
commands. Scary, but seems beside the point. The HOC requirement is one solution to this problem, but it seems like a sub-optimal one. Again, this punishes Oracle professionals already working in the field who'd like to become certified. Why is there no regard for them? One way to correct this, if this is a genuine concern on Oracle's part, is to include a "live" aspect to the exams. Then, if this causes a fail, those who flunk might be interested in taking HOCs to remedy this. In this day and age, I'm certain training could involve interactive SQL*PLUS sessions, etc. Only a failure of imagination and will could prevent I suspect; particularly in a world of virtualization. I'd consider a redesign of exams before I'd require people to pay for classes they may be unable to pay for. It's a bit of an insult to working Oracle professionals who want to add certification.
I agree to some extent. Again, the issue is the consistency in experience. I have met people with 10 years of experience, and others with 10 times 1 year of experience.
A modest Intro to SQL course will count? But an OCA will already have that knowledge. I wish this was consistently true. Then I mispoke. But the HOC still punishes existing Oracle professionals.
I sympathize. I'm an independent, and all exams and certification costs come out of my own (corporate=me) pocket. But life in the professional fast lane is not
cheap. This topic has been the source of some contention for quite some time.
Unfortunately a number of people have been unscrupulous in their method of getting certification - cheating, using gunners, and so on - and I see this as one of
the few ways to combat the issue. If the cheating issue is just left alone, the value of OCP (and any other certification) is effectively lost. The unscrupulous, I'm afraid, will always be with us. This problem is not solved, I'm also afraid, by requiring a costly HOC. It is in my opinion one potential solution of many, and not at all the best one. I wonder how other vendors with certifications handle this. I do know that some industry-generic certifications require proof of X years of work in the field (e.g. GISPs), as well as providing proof of various contributions to the field. This could be gamed as well I suppose. But the honest should not be punished along with the dishonest.Basically I agree with the sentiment. Implementation is the issue.
    >
Bottom line: in my view, a few alternate solutions to the HOC are:
    1) Allow submission of work credentials to substitute for the HOC
    2) Incorporate hands-on aspects to the exam, e.g. a SQL*PLUS simulator.
I'm sure the brilliant minds at Oracle, or a suitable contractor, could easily accomplish #2. And #1 might be a true bar-raiser. It seems highly unlikely to me that, say, requiring an Intro to SQL HOC course raises the bar more than a few millimeters. There have been many discussions around this. Several of us have even considered non-vendor certifications as a route to accomplish this.
It is an imperfect world. But hopefully the steps will correct some of the deficiencies.
I am sure Paul and the rest of the Certification team would be happy to hear more feedback on how to implement practical verifiable real-world experience alternatives to the HOC that do not increase Oracle's costs.
    >
Since both are unlikely to happen any time soon, what is the least expensive option for the HOC and where do I find a list of courses and institutions that offer them? In my view, Oracle should provide this information as a courtesy. No reason not to unless there is a revenue motive; and the author of the blog posts you sent me assures us the addition of the HOC is not a revenue enhancement maneuver. I'd be more inclined to believe it if those words were backed-up with helpful actions like the one I've proposed--since such a thing seems not to exist. All courses and course locations are available through http://education.oracle.com (and have been available for years) as well as the price. Oracle's policy does not allow for much price variation for education. The exception is when bulk purchased are negotiated, which is outside what you and I can talk with them about.

  • How to create a new user in Netweaver system for ABAP training?

    Hello,
I had been learning ABAP using a trial version but recently purchased and installed a developer subscription of Netweaver 2004 SR3. Can someone please tell me the best way to create a new user for ABAP development and assign the needed transaction authorizations appropriate for a developer? I was able to create one in SU01 and assign a profile of S_ABAP_ALL but still could not get into SE80 with that logon. And the user had a license expiration of only one month, is there a way to obtain a permenant license for it from SAP?
    Thanks
    -Chris Piret

    Hi Chris,
You can create a role in t-code pfcg with all required transaction and assign it to your user id or else You can assign profile sap_all to you for all authorization.
Regarding license you can get it from sap.How to get it is explained in the document in the below link.
    https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700006339962006E
For ABAP development you need developer key and that also you will get from sap marketplace
