SHADOW system Dispatcher NOT RUNNING
Hi All,
We are upgrading from 4.7 to ECC6.0. The PREPARE went fine but during the upgrade, we are getting an error. The SAPup is not able to connect to the shadow system for running some jobs. When we checked the MMC, we found that the dispatcher is not running for our SHADOW system. We are on Windows/Oracle 10g.

XI Installation: Dispatcher Not Running
Hi,
We're trying to install XI and have upgraded to SP16. We then did a stopsap and tried to start the services using startsap.
However, the dispatcher is not coming up. The J2EE engine is not running and I cannot log into Visual Administrator. Hence I cannot continue with the installation. Can somebody help??
Using the jcmon pf=<profileID>, I notice the following:

I've tried to restart the process but with no luck.Hi Basant,
Check out the following threads which have discussed and even solved the same issue:-
1. J2ee dispatcher can not start
2. Dispatcher Exitcode=-2
3. CJS-20057:Starting J2EE Engine JC00 of SAP system J2E failed: after 1317 se
4. J2EE server not started (exitcode -2)
One more thing, I think you should post this question in any one of the other forums too...like SAP NetWeaver Platform/Web AS/Installation..

Hi Gurus,
I have a XI 3.5 system with Oracle 10.2 Database.
Errors
01) From MMC Dispatcher is not running
02) 'Work' Folder is also not accessible. Although the folder is showing almost 3.5 GB of Data but on clicking no files can be seen
R3trans -d is successfull, Oracle & listener is also running
Please suggest....
Regards,
Souren
Edited by: Souren on Jun 15, 2009 10:04 AMThe directory 'work' is not hidden or compressed. Same problem persists with this folder.
But now the system is up but dispatcher is yellow and following msg is showing.
"Running but dialog Queue Info Unavailable: j2ee all processes running"
The only thing that I did is I have re-initialise the auth to all SAP & Administrative users from OS level.
Please suggest
01) How to get access of the Work folder.
02) How to make the dispatcher green from yellow?
Regards,
Souren -
Dispatcher Not Running work process stop.
HI,
I am facing this problem while installing SAP PI 7.3 on RHEL6 with Oracle. During installation it stops at when it will start instance and when I check found having some issue with dispatcher. Below are the few logs which I found during installation no issue with oracle starting properly and not having any issue with R3trans -d.

Installing SAP NW 7.01 ABAP Trial Version for dummies
Hello sappers...
Sorry if you thought this was a guide for dummies, though it could turn out to be if I get some help - I'm the dummy!
Not wanting to be left out, I too have had a host of issues trying to install this, over several days now... it feels like bashing your head against a brickwall. After staying up till 4am last night, then wiping my laptop and reinstalling Windows AGAIN to start from scratch this morning, and encountering the cranio-mural interface again, I feel like a crash test dummy!
I am installing on a new installation of Windows Vista Home Basic, I have a gig of RAM and plenty of hard drive space.
Forgive me if this is an ignorant question, but do I need to install the Loopback adaptor if I'm connected to the internet? If it's to generate an IP address, surely my computer has one. Note networking is not my strong point (though I'm an ok programmer - one project manager even gave me 4 out of 10!) - please be kind! Anyway, I have tried with and without this on my various attempts.
ANYWAY.... the sorry saga goes like this...
I seem to be able to install Max DB OR SAP NW 7.01 ABAP Trial Version u2013> NSP, but not both at the same time - I may have done once, and it seemed to work once, I even managed to sign on - then it wouldnt work in the morning - but then that was on Windows XP Pro on my wife's laptop which only has 500 meg of RAM.
My last attempt was fairly typical - Max DB is showing up in the program menu, but SAP NW 7.01 ABAP Trial Version u2013> NSP is not.
However, I seem to have managed to start the NSP server ok, using SAP Management console, thanks to a handy tip on this forum about using your Windows OS password when it prompts for credentials.
When I try to sign on I get 'partner 127.0.0.1:sapdp00 not reached WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused - error number 10061, return code -10, system call connect.
That's one of my better attempts.
Last night having deleted all the installed files from my C drive, uninstalled everything, tinkered with the registry to remove all relevant entries, I managed to run an installation that skipped out installing MaxDB (it was super quick!), yet did install the SAP NW 7.01 ABAP Trial Version u2013> NSP bits in my program menu - imagine my excitement at being able to start and stop the server, yet with no database it produced red windows on my screen saying 'sorry, you screwed up AGAIN' (or words to that effect). Trying to sign on produced equally disheartening error messages...
Am going to give it another try after taking a break, next time WITH loop back adaptor installed...
Please pardon lack of relevant detail, I didnt note everything I did on every attempt - substituting humour for detail is all that's saving my sanity at this stage...
Anyone that can help me achieve this will be my friend for ever... I'm a contractor bitten by the recession trying to learn some news skills.... the first one being how to install Netweaver at home...!

Dear Experts,
I have installed and could able to run ABAP on SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version.
I could not able run BI 7.0 or BW 3.5. When I run RSA1 Tcode I am getting error message as You can only work in client 000 if I sign in with 001 and vice versa if I sign in with client 001.
Other error message I am also getting as
System NSP client 000 has no logical name!
Naming takes place through assignment to a logical system.
You might have to create another logical system before you can do this
To continue, now assign the logical system to this
system & client &.
Can some on please suggest me how to overcome these issues.
Regards,
OSR.
Edited by: OSR on Jan 10, 2009 5:19 PMIt is technically possible with a table update but It might be illegal. Also you can not use BI Content after enabling it, so you don't have opportunity to use it full functional. If your still interested send me you email and I will send the details.

New User - SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - ABAP Trial Version
Our company as developed software link from our application to the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module.
To simply the discussion, please assume that the link only creates a PM Notification. Currently this is done via RFC to IQS4_CREATE_NOTIFICATION.
One of our biggest challenges in developing the link for our Oil Refinery customers is the fact that we do not run SAP in our development office. This makes it very difficult to maintain the link because we need to rely on our customers systems to test any changes we make.
In the past, we have made several attempts to purchase a developer license to SAP but could not determine the correct sales avenue. We ended up talking to sales people who told us that we needed to spend $50,000.
Recently, I have installed SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - ABAP Trial Version. I have it running and can log into the SAP GUI and I can make remote function calls to the Airport demo that is installed with it. This environment appears to have everything that I need to develop our link but I can not figure out how to install the PM module. I am not sure if this is even possible.
So here are my questions:
1) Can the PM module be activated/installed in the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - ABAP Trial Version?
2) Would this be included if we purchase the SAP NetWeaver, Development Subscription for $2,300/year.1. No
2. yes it has everything -
Can I add a JAVA sneak preview to my installed ABAP trial version
Hello experts,
I have installed the ABAP sneak preview 7.01 and I need to install an SLD to it so i can register my ABAP stack to another SLD.
As i know i have to install the JAVA stack first before intalling SLD, it that right?
Is that possible to add a JAVA stack to my ABAP trial version? i can not find a JAVA sneak preview download in SDN..
Thanks a lot!
Best regards, CharlieHi Charlie,
It does say that you shouldn't have another SAP system installed but you can definately install two systems without a problem.
Sapinst should do it for you but make sure that you have different instance numbers and ports selected during the start of the install.
Gingle explains the process well here:

Dispatcher not starting in NW04
hi I installed NW 04 EP (service pack 12) today. At the time of installations I didn't get any expceptions. I installed Oracle first then used RI to do the rest of the process.
Portal started fine for the fist time. Somehow I stopped and restarted it without making any chages and I tried to logon with j2ee_admin user, though I gave the right password it didn't allow me to logon. I tried to logon multiple times. Finally I activated emergency user with console.bat utility.
I stopped and restred EP and now Dispatcher is not starting
when I checked the dispatcher developer trace I see the following lines.
[Thr 4228] JLaunchIAbortJava: abort hook is called
[Thr 4228] JLaunchCloseProgram: good bye (exitcode=-2)
and I see the following in JControl developer trace
[Thr 2960] JControlICheckProcessList: process dispatcher started (PID:4204)
[Thr 2960] Wed Aug 24 15:54:07 2005
[Thr 2960] JControlICheckProcessList: process dispatcher (pid:4204) died (RUN-FLAG)
[Thr 2960] JControlIResetProcess: reset process dispatcher
[Thr 2960] JControlIResetProcess: [dispatcher] not running -> increase error count (6)
[Thr 2960] JControlICheckProcessList: process server0 (pid:3288) died (STOPPING)
[Thr 2960] JControlIResetProcess: reset process server0
Any idea on what went wrong with Dispatcher?
Thanks for your help.
Chandra.Nagesh,
I restarted the machine many times (atleast 4), and the dispatcher is still not starting. Let me know what memory setting I need to bring it down? Do you mean server node id settings using configtool.bat?
Please let me know the values too. We have 4 GB RAM and 4 processor Dell Server running on WIN 2k3 (OS is uptodate).

SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial - Running but Dialog Queue standstill
Dear all,
since today morning I am having troubles with the SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial version which has run now for over 6 months without any issues. The issues appeared suddenly and I didn't change anything to configuration / network. I am going through the forum now since a couple of hours and I have checked the following. I have read that the most common error is, that the log is full. Anyhow I have checked the log files.
1.) Logfiles: I can't see anything in the log file saying that something is wrong. Please find enclosed the log files DEV_DISP, DEV_W0 and DEV_MS:

2.) So I installed the SAP MaxDB Database Manager in order to check the logs and do an archiving. But here seems to be the issue - I can not see the NSP Database instance (see attached screenshot). But how can this be? The log file say that the db connection is ok?
3.) What is really strange to me is the Syslog in the management console --> see log3.png. Why does it say work process in reconnect status?
Does anybody have an idea how to solve this issue? Help is really appreciated and points will be rewarded.
Best regards
MaikThank you first of all for your answer.
I tried to do so, but in the MaxDB Database Manager I can add the db instance, but I am not able to connect to it (service is running). -

MindaugasThe hostname should have 13 caracters at maximum, you will need to remove your installation (use the process below), change the hostname and install it again. It happened with me and after done this process it worked fine.
How to uninstall :
- Drop database: In order to do that go to the Control Panel click on 'Add and Remove Programs' and look for 'MaxDB'. Click on 'Change/Remove' which starts the Installation Manager of the MaxDB. Click on 'Remove MaxDB Components', select 'All Components' and enter the database manager user 'control' and your <password>. Quitt the dialog popup with 'yes'.
- Stop SAPNSP_00 service Go to the Control Panel, click on 'Administrative Tools' and stop the SAPNSP_00 service.
- Remove in your file system the directories of 'SAP' and 'sapdb'. Go to 'Program Files/Common Files' and remove the directory 'Installshield'.
- Run the [clean up |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/softwaredownload?download=/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/business_packages/a1-8-4/nw/regcleantools.rar] tool for the registry, press the radio button for 'Uninstall Service', enter 'NSP' for SID and '00' for the number.
- Connect your PC to the network or install the loopback adapter.
- Reboot your PC.
