ABAP trial NW7 SP12: problem with SAPDB

Hello,
I have to reinstall ABAP NetWeaver7 Sp12.
After the installation I can't find the c:\sapdb directory. During the first intallation system has intalled SAPDB.
Probably I did something wrong durring unistall procedure.
After the reinstallation I get message: Installaction completed

I removed the content of diretory:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Installshield\Universal\SAP
It helped.

I am using up to now Windows XP Home Edition. After some problems during installation I have read again the "recommendations" for using the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version SP12. Furthermore I searched here in SDN for solutions which might be available regarding the problem I have.
The important fact is that this software is released only for the following operating systems:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) or Windows Server 2003.
(having a NTFS file structure etc.)
No other release is done (taking into account Windows Vista).
I have done an update to Microsoft Professional Edition but I have still some installation problems.

Up to now I have no idea why after installation of Windows XP Professional I have still the same problem.
The problem is exactly what is described in Sap Netweaver 2004 ABAP trial version com.sap.installshield.maxdb.maxdb...
But I have the feeling that my Windows XP Professional Installation was not correct (because there are some other problems around too)
So my recommendation to the description for downloading would be to highlight more this important recommendation of use of the ABAP trial version
(refer to https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6).
For further versions which might be released in the future (hopefully) it would be nice if the support regarding Windows versions would be a little more broader (Windows XP Home etc.). But this is only a wish from my side.

ABAP Trial Version SP12:Error while setting up transport environment

I have successfully installed ABAP trial SP12 on my notebook(XP) and have been able to create some objects.
Thanks to very effective blogs by Manfred Lutz .
Now, I'm trying to set up the transport environment as per the blog but face the following error when I execute the step 'Distribute and Activate TMS Configuration'
Appreciate any help in solving the issue. I'm detailing below the error and the checks I had done.

I did the following based on the long text and after searching the forum:

Run program RSTPTEST to localize error.

*(3) I then went to STMS and regenerated the RFC destinations and then ran the connection test. The result was OK.
Now, I again execute the 'Distribute and Activate TMS Configuration' step . It still gives the same error.
When I run the connection test in SM59, it results in error.
Further checks:***********************
(a) The permissions for folder SAP in the local directory were done as instructed in the blog.
(b) the directory path /SAP/trans/bin had the following files:
*TP_DOMAIN_NSP.PFL* : the last modified date changes every time I execute 'Distribute and Activate TMS Configuration'.
*DOMAIN* :The last modified date is in the past. It does not change.
Please inform how do I set up transport.

Thank you for the suggestion.
I did as you suggested by inserting the mapping of ip and host in the hosts file.
and restarted the server,but I still get the same error "could not start transport control program tp".
Any other step that I'm missing.

I have installed SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial successfully in my NB, but i have no logon ID,does anybody know if there is public logon ID, appreciate. thanks in advance.
Btw, i also have tried to apply license via SAP official web site, but it asks me to provide
my hardware key, i don't know how to know my hareware key, so apply fail.

What do you mean with logon ID?
The users you can use are listed on the logon page together with their passwords. Once you are logged in, you can find out your hardware key by using transaction SLICENSE. I propose you read through the 'Getting Started" section in the HTML pages, included in the package. There are the basic steps described.

Problem with SAPDB

read through some forum threads but don't see any direct hints to help my problem (yet!).
My computer shutdown without first manually stopping the local instance in the MMC - thanks to a suddenly failing battery.
Once I starting the computer again, i try to start the J2EE server and it fails as shown in this developer trace:

Please check the files "knldiag" and "kndiag.err" in the database wrk directory

SAP NW2004s ABAP Trial SP11 installation problem

i have a problem, i hope you can help me!
By starting the SAPGui 710 i get this error message:
"partner 'kevkev1:sapdp00' not reached WSAECONNREFUSED:Connection refused..."
I`ve made the following Input in New Entry:
Beschreibung: NSP localhost
Anwendungsserver: kevkev1 (I also tried "localhost" instead of "kevkev1, but it doesn`t work")
Systemnummer: 00
Systemid: NSP
My Hosts-Datei has the following Inputs:
127.0.0.1(was given, but i also tried without that, only with kevke1) localhost
10.10.0.10(Createt with Loopback) kevkev1
My PCName(Computername) is kevkev1. I don`t have a Domain.
Can somebody help me please!

Are you sure the application server is running properly? (Check with SAP Management Console that all lights are green).
If the server is up and running, try to open this URL on the PC running the Trial Version:

Install Error SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version SP12 - MaxDB SAP DB WWW

Hello everybody
I try to install the SAPNW7.0 and in the first run I forgot to install the MS Loopback Adapter.
And now every installation retry fails.
I read a lot of threads, and every time I do the reinstallation, I clean the system (XP Prof SP2) from the already installed files, incl regclean, SAP directory from install shield and so on.
The error I get all time time now has something to do with the existing service "SAP DB WWW ".
I see it when run the services.msc, but I don't know how do delete it. Deactivation will work but it will run into the same error.
Maybe another issue:
I can ping 10.10.0.10 but not the entered hostname in file host
I would appreciate any help on this issue.

To delete the service please try the following command in the windows console:
sc delete <name of the service>
sc delete SAP DB WWW
The service has to be stopped and perhaps you have to restart your computer afterwards.
Maybe another issue:
I can ping 10.10.0.10 but not the entered hostname in file host
Please check the hosts-file under C:WINDOWSsystem32driversetc again.
Perhaps post your added entry here so that we can check it.
While installing please also deactivate all installed antivirus- or/and firewall-programs on your computer which could perhaps block a connection.

Backup_restore problem with sapdb

i'm searching a way to backup my sapdb of my content server.
And I'm using dbmcli at the moment.
so i made 2 backup_media stores with the following instruction
dbmcli -d SDB -u superdba,admin backup_media_put datafiles J:\Backup_content\data\data.backup FILE DATA 0 8 YES
dbmcli -d SDB -u superdba,admin backup_media_put logfiles J:\Backup_content\log\log.backup FILE DATA 0 8 YES
after that i say he must make backups to those backup media's
dbmcli -d SDB -uUTL -u superdba,admin -o J:\Backup_content\savestate.log backup_save_state
dbmcli -d SDB -uUTL -u superdba,admin -o J:\Backup_content\datafilebackup.log backup_save datafiles recovery data
dbmcli -d SDB -uUTL -u superdba,admin -o J:\Backup_content\logilebackup.log backup_save logfiles recovery log
after that i check my backup
dbmcli -d SDB -uSRV -u superdba,admin backup_restore_check datafiles data
all is working well until this point
when i want to restore it
i'm using the following instruction
dbmcli -d SDB -uUTL -u superdba,admin backup_restore datafiles data
and its giving me an error message

I looked at the help.sap.com and i found the following
backup_restore <medium> <type> [ExternalBackupID <external_backup_ID>] [<nnn>] [UNTIL <date> <time>]
With this command you read a backup.
<medium>
Medium from which the backup is to be read.
When restoring a backup made on several media at the same time, you must enter the name of the backup media group here.
<type>
Type of backup to be imported: DATA, PAGES or LOG
<nnn>
Actual backup version on the backup carrier that is being checked; relevant only for media of type FILE .
UNTIL <date> <time>
For log backups you can enter an exact time up to which the log backups are to be read.
ExternalBackupID <external_backup_ID>
1. I'm thinking i need to fill in the <nnn> field but what do i have to fill in?
2. Am I making a good backup?

an important thing to note: to be able to restore/recover you need to put the db instance in admin/cold:
(version MaxDB 7.4, 7.5)
dbmcli -d <SID> -u <dbm-user>,<pwd> db_admin
(version SAP DB 7.3)
dbmcli -d <SID> -u <dbm-user>,<pwd> db_cold
I don't believe you need to use the <nnn> part in your case.
If you still get an error message, please let me know which exact error you got and its context.

The download ocurrs correct.
Every time I clean the register.
And the same problem.
I dont know what I do more..

You may want to go to Start > Run > "services.msc" [without the quotes]
In the Services there should be a service named SAPNSP_00. Make sure it is Started, and startup type automatic.
While there, start SAP DB WWW service during installation.
Also, please make sure that you clean the install completely: register cleanup tool, remove maxdb from add remove programs, delete the folder form the install shield directory. Also ensure that you have the Microsoft Loopback adapter installed and the hosts file setup correctly (10.10.0.10 <My_comp_name> [My_comp_name has to be alphanumeric and less than 13 chars])

SAPGUI 7.10 New ABAP Front End Editor Problem with CTRL + 5

Hi Guys,
I am using SAPGUI 7.10 patch 19 with new front-end editor and I am not able to use CTRL + 5 (on Numeric pad) to select whole program. As soon as I change the editor to use old front end editor I am able to use CTRL + 5.
Please help me to incorporate CTRL + 5 in New frond end editor.

New SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version SP12 - I can't start server

Hello,
I've just finished the installation without errors. After it I've tried to start server with help of Sap Console
I see process spalicence.exe in yellow color and after couple of time it disappears and I see process msg_server.exe in gray color.
What is wrong with installation?

Should be in the installation guide somewhere, in my system, the entries are like so.
In the hosts file, C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
10.10.0.10 <computer name>
In the services file, C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services
sapmsNSP 3600/tcp # Sneak Preview
