ABAP WebDynPro iView: Session remains open in backend.....

Hi Experts,
We have configured ABAP Webdynpro (SD Order Creation) iView in SAP Portal. When we test it from intranet, everything works fine and session in backend gets terminated when we leave that page on portal. But when we test it from internet, session remains open and not getting closed. How to terminate these onen sessions??
SAP Portal and backend SAP ECC are on same domain....

Hi Parmod,
are you accessing the application in exactly the same way in the two cases?
logging into portal from internet?
One thing that you might need to be wary of is a lack of pop-ups. The portal uses a pop-up window when a user closes the browser to terminate the session.
I've had plenty of problems with pop-up blockers that have prevented this pop-up from terminating the portal sessions. Sometime these pop-up blockers are configured to operate only on internet sites and not on internal intranet sites. That might be a possible cause.

I am trying to create ABAP Webdynpro iview. When i try to preview it...i am getting "Page cannot be displayed". I checked the Web AS connection and it is working fine. Please put on some light on this.

ABAP WebDynpro iView with window id problem

We have a custom ABAP webdynpro iView that is part of a dynamic navigation. When the iView loads the following warning message is displayed...
An error occured while starting the iView.

If the user is using link from favourites of browser, Ask him to delete it and manually enter the url and Try.
In my case, The user just deleted the saved link from Favorites and tried entering the url manually,
though it is weird it worked.

ABAP webdynpro iView issue with Internet explorer

Greetings,
We are trying to integrate ABAP webdynpro with portal using the standard SAP webdynpro iView template, we are able to successfully integrate and display on portal pages.
However if we are using IE version 7.0 browser we do not have any issues, but when we try to use IE version 6.0 the webdynpro portal pages does not display any content. A workaround was to open up the IE settings and change the setting for Navigate sub-frames across different domains to 'enable' from 'disable'.
This fixed the issue.
Also we came across information that we can change the setting to force the portal to use the css from the ABAP backend by changing the iView property 'Supply portal stylesheet' from 'Yes' to 'No'. Does this affect the portal behavior in rendering content in MS IE.
Please let us know if there are any other methods to overcome this issue, as this will affect many of our users.
iview isolation is of type 'URL'
page isolation is set to 'Embedded'
Portal page used is default framework type not webdynpro type

Hi Mahee,
while creating an Web Dynpro ABAP ivew.
we have to give the System , Namesapace , Application Name and Web Dynpro Client.
you have to check the System( Connection Test) and also check the ABAP application is activated or not in R/3.
you have to select Web Dynpro Client as Plain HTML.

How to find the ABAP Webdynpro Component Name in the Portal IView(WDA)

I got one ABAP Webdynpro IView in portal , when i opened the Iview i got the Application name of ABAP Webdynpro in the properties of the Iview but i could not able to find the component name .
Please let me know how to find the component name of WDA , as i already got the Application name of component from Iview i.e WDA_ED_RDF ( this is applicaiton name found in the portal Iview for ABAP Webdynpro)

Right Click on any UI Element in Portal->Go to more field help->TEchical Information. You can see all the information about component, application, ui elements etc.

Extend ABAP Webdynpro session

Hi experts,
Is there a way to extend the abap webdynpro user session?
The problem is that the users want to have 30-40 minutes gap between any user interaction on the application (e.g. they are on a meetting they discuss something, then enter a value to the webdynpro application then they are discussing another issue, and after 30-40 min they enter another value to the WDA application)
Currently the application cannot have 30-40 mins gaps between two user interaction, becase the whole app will end in a session timeot error.

Roughly speaking it's the parameter rdisp/plugin_auto_logout within ICM. This will allow you to extend the timeout counter.
My advice: Do not extend it. Since people are both demanding AND stupid, this will not only lower your security and your performance but people will quickly ask you to extend it, AGAIN, so they can have an hour lunch break period between WebDynpro interactions...

ABAP Webdynpro Rendering issues after ECC Upgrade

Dear All,
We recently upgraded ECC to EHP 7 (Netweaver 7.4) but our Portal is still at Netweaver 7.0 EHP2 SP16.
The ABAP Webdynpro iViews in Portal have the following issues. ( We use IE11).
1. The ABAP Webdynpro Table filtering is not working. When I click the filter button it does nothing.
2. The cursor in the Input fields reset back to the first position while typing and create a big mess.

There is no resolution as such.
We had raised a Customer message with SAP and were informed that this was expected as the procedure to execute the reports was changed in ECC when compared to 4.6 (technical changes) and hence this issue shall remain for some queries wherein the old changes need to be brought back using an option in the SAP Query.
Please refer to SAP Note # 723577 which could provide a better explanation for the issue.

ABAP webdynpro app not redirecting using Outbound plug in portal

Scenario-
There is one Abap webdynpro application APP1 calling another abap webdynpro component Comp 2 through outbound plug on a button click. This is working fine if service is tested independantly.
SAP ECC system is having a webispatcher and the application should be accessed using webdipatcher only i.e. ECC should not be called directly.
SSL has been configured b/w ECC and webdipatcher.
The Abap webdynpro application APP1 is integrated into portal using Abap webdynpro iview.
Setting in Portal system are reffering to Webdipatcher for ECC system instead of ECC system directly.
Issue-
App1 is loading successfully into portal and all the data is coming properly but when trying to navigate to second component on button click it is not navigating. iview is getting refreshed but not redirecting to required component and is still on the same application.
Please suggest the reasons and solutions if anyone has clue about it.

How to set portal authorization in ABAP Webdynpro application

Do you have an idea how to set the visibility for Group UI element based on the Portal user authorization in ABAP Webdynpro , for example if the portal user A(or group A), logins into the portal on click of the ABAP Webdynpro IView then we need to set invisible (hide) the Group UI element in webdynpro ABAP Application.
Do you have any sample code on the same to handle the portal authorization in Webdynpro ABAP?? , please let me know if couldnu2019t understand this requirement or my explanation

Hi John,
You can create a ABAP webdynpro application in the transaction SE80.
Only precondition is u have authorization to develop Webdynpro Programming
in SE80.
Go to SE 80 --> Select webdynpro ABAP --? Create Project --> enter the name
and text-->save it --> right click ur Project Node --> create --> View.
Note: In Webdynpro Programmin if u want to create view or window or any new object u have to use rightclick on the project root node or corresponding node.

ABAP Webdynpro passing parameter

I am trying to pass a parameter to an ABAP webdynpro.
i have a parameter defined in the application "PLANNING_SEQUENCE"
if i run the webdynpro via a direct url and pass the parameter ?PLANNING_SEQUENCE=<sequence> it seems to receive the parameter ok.
if i run the webdynpro through an abap webdynpro iview and try to pass the parameter via ApplicationParameter=PLANNING_SEQUENCE=<sequence> it doesn't.
anyone know how this can be done??

I think for the webdynpro Iview this parameter works fine when integrated in portal.
First try running in Portal otherwise do this way.
When you call this Webdynpro in Poratl Iview then there are also portal application parameters
where you need to pass it.
Please give it a try as I have not tried.

PR05 Transaction Iview from Abap Webdynpro

From abap webdynpro, on action of one button, i'm calling PR05(Travel Expense Manager) screen by passing the parameters as follows and calling NAVIGATION_ABSOLUTE method:
BUS_PARAMETER-KEY = 'PTP00-PERNR'.
BUS_PARAMETER-VALUE = LS_EMPLOYEE_NODE-PERNR.
Insert BUS_PARAMETER into table BUS_PARAMETER_LIST.
CLEAR BUS_PARAMETER.
BUS_PARAMETER-KEY = 'PTP1000-REINR'.
BUS_PARAMETER-VALUE = LS_HEADER_NODE-REINR.
Insert BUS_PARAMETER into table BUS_PARAMETER_LIST.
It opens PR05 screen, with the correct employee list, but it does not populate the tripnumber and also it should skip the first screen.
In the IView, i have already given OKCODE='MOD' for change of the trip and also PROCESS_FIRST_SCREEN=YES.
In the business parameter i try to add for selecting the particular line in the table control of the PR05 screen, but that doesn't work.

Need to open an ABAP WebDynpro application from Portal UWL work item

Hi All
I need some suggessions on how to navigate to an ABAP WebDynpo application iview from a mail(Work Item) in portal UWL.
Requirement in detail:
Agreements will be created from portal( Agreement Creation Application is developed in ABAP webDynpro and iview has been created with in the portal for this WD application). as and when the agreement is created a mail (ECC Workitem) should trigger to the approver, who has access to portal and check the mail(Work Item) from the portal UWL.
The mail body should consist the link to the Agreement created in portal ( Link to navigate to the Agreement Creation ivew).
So, the main requirement is user should navigate to the Agreement creation iview when he open the mail from UWL.
Mail can be sent from ECC by using ABAP Function modules or by creating a workflow
Please advice me on how can we achieve this requirement.

You can call the iView directly by using NavigationTarget..

NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/myFolder/myRole/myIview
Plz note that the iView you are calling should be part of a Role.
And the PCD location of the iView in the Role must be given for Navigation Target.
