ABC XYZ Concept at SAP ERP
Dear friends,
I want to ask whether SAP could provide this process. The goal of this process is my customer want to maintain stock effectively.
My customer have a process to update the service level automatically based on the call ( number of SO and WO ) and Price. They have table master data to maintain this process like below.
Plant | Material Group | Status ( Fast,middlw, slow ) | call from | Call To | Price from | Price to | Service Level |
ABCD | Group 1 | Fast | 0 | 10 | 0 | 1000 | 50 |
ABCD | Group 1 | Fast | 0 | 10 | 1000 | 100000 | 55 |
ABCD | Group 1 | Fast | 10 | 100 | 0 | 1000 | 56 |
ABCD | Group 1 | Fast | 10 | 100 | 1000 | 100000 | 57 |
The also have a report that show ( number SO & WO ), info record ( gross price ) , and would look up this information to table ( UP ) to get the new service level and update it the material master. And after MRP would run normally.
My question is this process could supply using concept ABC XYC analysis in SAP?
Is ABC XYZ could also used in SAP ERP or just in SAP SCM? Thanks
Best Regards,
jhonny PS
We had a similar issue. I'll tell you how we solved it, but I don't think the solution was ideal. But perhaps it will give you some thoughts as well.
We invoiced the customer for the quantity manufactured under the original sales order. We then physically moved the inventory to a seperate warehouse for storage. Since the inventory no longer existed in the system after the original invoice was posted and the delivery was PGI'd. we used a 501 movement to put the inventory back on the books in the storage warehouse. We also did not want the inventory to be valued and since we had a unique plant to store the material in, we made the material type non-valued in that plant (field VT134M-WERTU). Later, when the customer wanted delivery we created a free-of charge order for the material and shipped the product to the customer.
If you think of a better way of doing this, please let me know.
thanks,

New Functionalities on SAP FI side in SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 & SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5
Hello Team
I am a FI consulant and now i would like to know the functionalities avialable in SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 and SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5. So i request you to pleasae check and provide me answers to the below points for my understanding
1. What are the new functionalities added in SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 on SAP FI side.
2. What are the new functionalities added in SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 on SAP FI side. Finally what is difference between EHP4 and EHP5, i mean in the point of SAP FI functioanliy.
In the meantime, please provide me the links where i can get complete information on the new functionalities added on FI side in these Enhancement Packages (ie 4/5).
Yours answers would help me a lot to understand the concept.
Regards
SreeEnhancements packages contains tens to hunderds of new or changed functionalites (called business functions). After installing an enhancement package you can activate the business functions which can be usefull to you.
To have an idea which business function can be usefull, you can use the business function prediction. Based on the (FI) transactions you use in the system, it gives an advice which business functions in an enhancement package should be activated.

Licensing & Installation Concept in SAP
Hi Gurus,
Our company has purchased a complete Software Package of Netweaver 2004s SR2 with ERP 2005 SR2, IDES ERP 2005 SR2, SRM, CRM, SCM, Solution Manager 4.0
We've already installed the IDES ERP 2005 SR2. Now my question is as you all know we have been given one Installation number & the customer number. So with the same software how many total systems can we install, Do we have to apply for the license for each installed SAP System. Also do SAP charge for each License. Also when we create any users in any client in a system, do we need to pay for that aswell, also what about the development users. In short I'm looking for the Installation & Licensing concept in SAP.
Thanks & Regards,
Nitin GoyalYou must apply for a separate license for each system, however based on the agreement with SAP you can have multiple systems i.e Multiple Utilization means the installation of the Software on more than one Designated Unit for Productive Use, or the setting up of more than one Application Database on one Designated Unit for Productive Use. Multiple Utilization of the Software may subject Licensee to payment of additional license fees.please read End User License Agreement on this if you have a copy with you or with IT/business.
There can be many license types as negotiated by the Business with SAP. You need to discuss with your IT/business group what type of licenses were negotiated and what defines each type of user? Then you can set the user accounts properly.
For each license you have to send the SAP audit report(system generated) with the required inputs yearly once which will be evaluated by SAP.Only users created in productive client will be charged, the users license applies to the development users also.

Connection from Web Intelligence over Universe to SAP ERP without SAP BW
Hi there,
is there a way to create a Universe which ic connected to SAP ERP (ECC 6.0) ? I want to use Web-Intelligence to create the Reports for my ERP-Data. But i don't want to make the way over SAP BW.
Otherwise i have to use Crystal because Crystal + SAP ERP Integration Kit can handle a connection to ERP. But then i have to waste a lot of time for the accuracy to a pixel which i dont need and i dont want...
Any Ideas ?!
Thanks
Sebastian
Edited by: smenzl on Mar 31, 2010 9:17 AMHi
you have 4 options:
1) Load your SAP ERP data into an SAP BW system and use OLAP universes to build WebI reports.
2) Use Rapid marts for SAP. This product comprises Data Integrator mappings that will allow to load your SAP ERP data into a predefined DWH based on a relational data source (like DB2, MS SQL Server or Oracle). It also includes a universe based on the predefined relational DWH that will allow you to build WebI reports.
3) Use the Data Federator with the SAP R/3 connector. Please note that the R/3 connector is NOT a product rather a prototype tand will be used at own risk (SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence Reporting for SAP ERP [original link is broken])
4) NOT RECOMMENDED: Try to access the tables directly in the underlying database. Please note that this may work for some but not all of the ERP data. In several case the data are stored encoded in the underlying tables and there is no way to extract the required information. Additionally the ERP security will not be leveraged into the WebI report.
Crystal reports is the currently the only BO reporting tool, which supports direct access to SAP ERP data sources.

Oracle 10g RAC installation on HP-UX 11.31 for SAP ERP 6.04
Dear experts,
We are trying to install SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 with Oracle 10g RAC on HP-UX 11.31. Please note that, We are using VERITAS cluster filesystem (CFS) for this purpose and not HP-UX ServiceGuard ClusterFileSystem.
*As per SAP procedure, we have installaed plain plain SAP system with single instance Oracle (ref: Configuration of SAP NetWeaver for Oracle Database 10gRAC guide). Now we are first trying to install Oracle Clusterware (CRS) and then we will install Oracle RAC software. Is this procedure right?*
Which file (and its path) we have to use for CRS installation and its patch? Is it runInstaller under /oracle/stage/102_64/clusterware? With this file we can install CRS 10.2.0.1. Similarly for Oracle RAC, which files we are supposed to use, i.e for installation and patch upgrade?
Also can we use clusterware package available from Oracle directly in the SAP environment?
We tried to install CRS with runInstaller while running Configuration Assistant after root.sh script.
The following commands are failing in Configuration Assistant:
/oracle/CRS/102_64/bin/racgons add_config erpprdd1:4948 erpprdd2:4948
/oracle/CRS/102_64/bin/oifcfg setif -global lan1/20.20.20.0:cluster_interconnect lan0/192.168.3.0:public
/oracle/CRS/102_64/bin/cluvfy stage -post crsinst -n erpprdd1,erpprdd2
1st command does not give any output if run manually.
2nd commands o/p: PRIF-12: failed to initialize cluster support services
3rd commands fails in every check
Please suggest the solution and expecting answers to the above mentioned questions.
Thanks & Regards,

Relevant docs for Service Guard (SG) cluster are available at http://docs.hp.com. Hope you have checked for the suport of oracle 92x on HP-UX 11.31

You can go for combined os migration and db release upgrade also at a stretch with the same downtime. -
Acquiring sales data from SAP ERP
(While evaluating Lumira, after watching promoclips, reading papers and working with the free trial some questions are still unanswered. I kindly ask you for help… Supporting a clear structure, I decided to open a separate thread for each question.)
How’s about connecting Lumira to a SQL-based SAP Instance to analyze sales data? Does SAP provide a “Business Content” similar to SAP-BW or do I have to join all the affected tables manually?
How would the scenario above be if I connect Lumira to a HANA-bases SAP Instance?
Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance!Hi,
there are a couple of similar threads already, which might give you suggestions:
Retrieve Data from ERP Infosets
SAP Lumira: Getting Familiar Freehand SQL Against SAP ERP - then to iPad
both those links discuss using 'freehand sql' drivers in Lumira to connect to ERP Infosets . (a kind of ECC query)
a similar approach, going via Business Objects BI 4, would be to have a Universe ontop of Infoset, and Lumira connects to BI4 to consume the Infoset Universe.
In both cases, the prerequisite is the definition of said 'infoset' - the creation of which would be handled by content creators within ECC environment, not likely the Lumira user.

SAP Sourcing 7.0 integration with SAP ERP - issue with SAP PI
Hi All,
We are integrating SAP Sourcing 7.0 with SAP ERP 6.0 with SAP PI 7.1 in middle. So the Sourcing will talk to PI and this intern will talk to ERP. Sourcing is on oracle 11g where as PI and ERP are on SQL 2008. All these 3 are on windows 2003 x64.
We are following the "Configuration Guide Integration of SAP ERP and SAP Sourcing 7.0" provided by SAP.
We have successfully configured Sourcing and PI systems as pe the document. In Sourcing, by using background jobs we are able to successfully generate files in "export" folder which is part of FTP directory.
However the issue is with PI, we configured the "configuration scenerio" in Integration builder and point all channels to the FTP folder in Sourcing. But PI is not picking up these files.
Is there any way to trigger this in PI system. Or do we need to do anything in sourcing itself.
Regards,
Siva.Hello Siva,
I am thinking that you may need to deploy FTP adapter in PI to get this process work fine but not sure.
Let's see what other experts suggest.
Thanks,

How to analyse the main memory usage in SAP ERP systems?
Dear expert,
I'm doing a research work about analysing the main memory usage in SAP ERP systems.
I would like to find out what is load in buffers and when. That means, which process have the control of these memories and which are always performing something, tables loaded, and so on. Becuase I tried to isolate the space needed by a simple webservice call (create one material) in my test system, but even after a $SYN there are something stored in the buffers. I use a BAPI to avoid the execution of the SAPGUI and its repercussion in the system (I know the BAPI called uses resources too, but when I run this BAPI to get the statistics, it's like ST02, I get different values). Could someone help me or recommend something specific to read? Thanks a lot in advance.Dear expert,
Thanks a lot for your answer. The point is now that I want to isolate the memory used by a webservice that I call, I mean, I would like to know how many memory is this webservice using in each buffer. And could you tell me where could I read something about the order that things happen in SAP System when a webservice is called (always memory related), that's which steps are done to store data in buffers and so on. Thanks in advance. -

Extracting Data from SAP ERP using BODI/Data Services 4.0
HI,
I am trying to extract data from SAP ERP via SAP extractors using BODI/Data Services 4.0.
I do not have my own ERP system so I am renting remote access from one of the many available on the internet.
I am able to connect BODI to the ERP system and import the extractors metadata.
The problem I am experiencing is that when I run job to extract the data I get the following error:
Vendor-supplied function module <Z_AW_RFC_READ_EXTRACTOR> not found. Ensure that you can execute the function module in SAP via transaction /nSE37.
How do I create the function? Or is the function a SAP standard function?
SAP ERP system being used is: ECC6 EHP4
User has SAP FULL and DEVELOPER authorizations.
Any assistance would be appreciated. You might have better luck in the (somewhat misnamed) [Data Integration and Data Quality Management|Data Services and Data Quality; forum:
This forum is dedicated to topics related to SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (Data Integrator, Data Quality Management, Text Data Processing), SAP BusinessObjects Information Steward (Metadata Management, Data Insight), SAP BusinessObjects Rapid Marts and SAP BusinessObjects Data Federator.

Need suggestion on importing BC SET : UKM_DCD_CUST in SAP ERP system
Dear Gurus,
Client wants me to import BC SET : UKM_DCD_CUST into SAP ERP system. I have found BC SET : UKM_DCD_CUST in T code SCPR20.
I have read most of the SCN discussion and got two way to import BC SET into ERP system as given below. But I need the appropriate way to do this. Can any one help me in this?
1. SCPR20 -> Activate BC set -> create customizing request to import into another system as per link :Business Configuration Sets (BC Sets) and their use - Basis Corner - SCN Wiki
2. Create TR in SE01 in 000 and import into required client as per below proc:
Usual procedure
1) BC SETS will be attached to SAP note usually. Download it and unzip it , you will get a *.bcs file
2) Call transaction SCPR20 BC set --> Upload In the dialog box that then appears, specify the files that you unpacked
Import the set BC into a package that you have defined. activate it with the "Expert mode"
3) You will also get a *.txt file with prog id , obj etc entries , then you have to go to SE09 and create a transport request in the source client of your Solution Manager system (client 000). Open the *.txt and copy the entries it contains into the transport request. Use transaction SCC1 to import the data in your Solution Manager client(s)
Thanks,
Anand Aseri2). Client copies bring the Customization data but not WorkBench . So you might have to do transport of copies from Old Dev to >New Dev.
So you are saying that the system copy from Production will not bring Workbench data and I need to bring Workbench data by transports?
*system copy from Production will bring Workbench data also, but when you do client copy from development system again on top of client which already has production customization, data and workbench requests, Production customization and data will be overwritten from development customization and data (it depends on the profile you choose for the client copy) *
However Development Workbench requests are more and also has ongoing development work which might not be available in production client and those (Ongoing development workbench requests) you need to import in new system as transport of copies after the client copy
3). If you do system copy from Production and do client copy from dev...obviously Prod customization will be overwritten with Dev rite ?
That's what I expect to happen,
Ok, however, You might need to get Development Work too from the old dev system and don't forget about setting up of partner profiles in WE20.
It's just a thought , Do you have testing client in Dev, if not,You can leave the production client in development system and use it as testing client.
Create new client which is client copy of Old Dev and import WorkBench requests *
Thanks,
Arjun
