Ability to Change Data Manager Messages

Hi Experts,
I would like to know if anyone has successfully changed the Data Manager (DM) messages.
We have a DM package that runs a BAdI calculation. We successfully linked the BAdI message to the DM so that on the detailed section of the DM results we can see our custom message. However, on the first page I see there’s a WARNING only. I’d like to show the user the message on the first tab so prevent him from having to scroll through the various results of the log to get to our custom message.
Didn’t see any functions on Script logic or DM to generate messages.
Any ideas?

Change Investment Management message Control

I am setting up Investment Management, and I would like to know if its possible to change message BQ151 to a warning. this message stops you allocating more to an order than is available in the total budget.
The reason for doing this, is that we want the option to have unbudgeted orders, so it is possible that an area may exceed its budget.
I cannot find any message control options in Investment management, or where the change options are for application area BQ.
Does anybody know where these message are configurable?

Data Manager Default System Messages

Hi, I need to change the data managers default system messages e.g
When adding a duplicate value into a unique field you get; "Unique Constrains Violated" it should read something like "Duplicate value, try again"

Hi Chris,
As rightly mentioned by Jitesh, this is not supported by MDM.
You can only set custom messages to the Validations that you create in Data manager yourself which will be displayed if those validations are voilated.

Change of sign when running the data management package

Hi All,
I have written a script logic for copying my Budget member under category dimension to say another member say "XYZ" under category dimension and this is for my Member Sales under ACcount dimension having acctype as inc.
When i run the logic thru default i am getting the correct value. however if i run the same thru data manager package- my sign changes.
Eg. 100000 is copied as -100000 and -50000 is copied as 50000.
Please help me out

CREDITPOSITIVE= YES | NO
Default: YES
If No, all amounts referring to an ACCOUNT type (LEQ, INC) will have their signs reversed.
Since you are referring to the member account sales as INC the default logic considers the sign as reversed.

I'm seeing this critical error on my primary.
SMS_DISCOVERY_DATA_MANAGER Message ID 2636 and 620.
Discovery data manager failed to process the discovery data record (DDR)"D:\Prog.....\inboxes\auth\ddm.box\userddrsonly\adu650dh.DDR", because it cannot update the data source.
Where these ddr's are actually under ddm.box\userddrsonly\BAD_DDRS folder
I see a ton of DDR files in that folder. Not sure if I can delete them, so I moved them to a temp folder. AD User discovery keeps generating them.
Any help ?

Personal Data: sucess messages - change messages

Hi experts,
My client is implementing ESS and they want to change the sucess message when employee saves new data.
The standard message is:
The changes you made to your Address data were saved
Is there any way to change this messages? Can it be changed on "Configure output messages"?
Where can I find the message class and number for this messages?

this has to be changed via NWDI
The placeholder gets filled in the setModeCreate() and setModeEdit()
functions in the FCPersInfo component of the esspersap.com DC.
Message Pool of the 'Overview' component of each scenario, there is a
Message Key by the name 'ITName'.

SharePoint 2013 - Cannot connect or Register WorkFlow Manager with error "The data or messaging layer is unavailable. Please retry after 300 seconds"

I have SharePoint 2013 farm and installed Workflow Manager 1.0 and configured it and have been runing fine for several months. I upgraded this farm to SP 1 and then started having some issue with publish WF 2013 with task in SPD.
I re-Registered using Register-SPWorkflowService command and that fixed the problem and WorkFlow Manager running again OK. It has been couple of monthle and now I am having the problem again but with a different error on SPD
So doing what I did before, I tried to re-Registered WFM but this time getting the error below
Register-SPWorkflowService : The data or messaging layer is unavailable. Please retry
after 300 seconds.
The only possible resolution that I found is to add the -AllowOAuthHttp in my Register-SPWorkflowService cmdlet but that didnot not resolve the problem. I tried that anyway eventhough we do not allow http.
I did some checking for status and configuration and Get-SBFarmstatus showing all WFM services are running OK
I browsed to the WFM server https://servername:12290 and get the same error
- <Errorxmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<Code>UnexpectedError</Code>
<Message>The data or messaging layer is unavailable. Please retry after 300
seconds.</Message>
</Error>
If anyone have advise / suggestion to resolve this issue, please share

BPC NW 10.0 - Data Manager Prompt changing from SELECTINPUT to SELECT cleared values

Dear BPC Experts,
We recently went from SP13 patch 4 to SP19 patch 1. When we made changes in the PROMPT values in the Data Manager Organize>Package>Modify Script>PROMPT, we experienced different behavior switching from SELECTINPUT to SELECT in our development system than we did in our production environment. In development, when we changed the value from SELECTINPUT to SELECT, the values entered for Variable name such as %SELECTION% in Property1 and "Select the members to CLEAR" in Property2, and %DIMS% remained. However, when we changed from SELECTINPUT to SELECT in production system, the values for Variable Names and Properties were cleared out. Does anyone know why in our developmet system values were kept but not in our production system during this type of activity? I would like to understand the two different behaviors and what controlled it. We prefer not to have the values for Properties clear.

Excellent point, I should have included images as that likely would have shown this odd behavior.
When I made the changes in our development system to a package to switch from SELECTINPUT to SELECT the values outlined in the image below were retained for Varialbe Name, Property 2, and Property 3 after we applied the SP19 patch 1.
When I made the same change in our system to a package in our production system after we applied the SP19 patch 1, the values for Varialbe Name, Property 2, and Property 3 were cleared per the image below. The odd thing is that initially it looked like the values stayed. It was only after you saved and went back in did you see that the values were gone.
Any help in understanding this behavior change would be greatly appreciated.

What is PROMPT(MESSAGE,[label]) significance in SAP BPC data manager

Hi All,
Do you know the significance of PROMPT(MESSAGE,[label]) of data manager dynamic script editor?
I want to generate a message using this prompt which should be dynamically able to resolve the category in the message itself.
For E.g. In Category dimension for property ID and member FC_CUR i need to check the property PRIOR_Forecast and retreive its member, say FC_SEP. This should be used in my message something like as depicted below:
PROMPT(MESSAGE,"This package will archive the data for prior month %PRIOR_FCST%")
but this command is returning
"This package will archive the data for prior month %PRIOR_FCST%" wheras, the actual desired output is
"This package will archive the data for prior month FC_SEP"
Could you please help me with this or any other TASK/PROMPT/INFO that i can use to achieve this?

The desired output message is to substitute the prior forecast dynamically.
In LGF file the code to fetch the prior forecast month is as shown below:
*SELECT (%PRIOR_FCST%,"[FC_CAT]","CATEGORY","[ID]='FC_CUR'")
I want to fetch this in dynamic script editor or make some variable that can be embedded within the message.
PROMPT(MESSAGE,"This package would archive the data for prior month %PRIOR_FCST%").
Could you please suggest any work around?

Not all data could be changed in LC (Message no. /SAPAPO/TS007)

Hi
Logically whenever you create a new CVCs in APO system you should execute the job /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK
by default which will assign time series for the newly created CVCs.
In the following case, it looks like you have created CVCs and than during th FCST job as it does not found the time series for newly created CVCs you received the following errors.
You can execute the report now which will fix the issue, but I will suggest to execute this once CVC job creation is done as regular process.

How to write custom messages to Data Manager package log from within SSIS?

Just wonder in BPC 7.0/7.5 MS how do you write custom messages to Data Manager package log from within SSIS? I mean I want to log output of specific custom tasks (non-BPC) in SSIS control flow to the resultant BPC package log created when running SSIS package in Data Manager. Can this be done in a Script Task or some other way? Not much documentation out there on this.

Hi Brian
In order to achieve what you want, it can get tricky in your package, ultimately It would depend on the task, for example if you had an execute SQL task, you could use a RAISEERROR command in your SQL statement and BPC would return the error message that you specified.
If you had other tasks, then it would be a bit more tricky, you would have to have custom messages based on event handlers.

HT2492 ML Dashboard Calendar widget has lost the ability to change the date.

In ML the Dashboard calendar widget has lost the ability to change the day to other days. You can still navigate to different months with the arrow keys, but clicking on any day has no effect. I have not found a keystroke/mouse combination that allows the date to be changed from today's date.
This is a useful function for me, to quickly be able to see what I have scheduled on any day. Now I have to open iCal, which is annoying.

You are correct that there is no way to sort jobs in the print queue window in Snow Leopard. This is to be considered expected behavior. In other words, that's the way the software engineers intend it to work in Snow Leopard. You should provide Apple with feedback as to what you want. You can file a report at: _http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html_.

Read only security not working in Data Manager

Hello,
We are on version 5.5 SP6 (5.5.63.71).
I create a Role named EVERYONE with all Functions = None and all Table and Fields = Read Only.
I want the user to have read only access in Data Manager so I assigned one Role - EVERYONE. The user is not assigned any other roles. When the user logons, they have read/write access to all data.
This was working on previous versions.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The user does have security only access. In Data Manager, the user can change a record but the user will receive an Insufficient Privelages message when they attempt to save the record.
