Ability to print guides

It would be great if it was possible to print guides that are in the PSD rather than having to create lines manually.

Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!

After I installed 10.6.8, my HP Officejet lost the ability to print 2-sided. I installed the latest HP drivers for Snow Leopard, but the 2-sided option is turned off and greyed out.

Also the scan function won't let me scan at any density greater than 150 dpi. I have talked to Applecare and to HP tech support and been told "too bad." Any help would be appreciated.

Ability to print to a pdf lost when going from Acrobat 9 to 11

I upgraded from Acrobat 9 standard to 11 standard and have lost the ability to print to a pdf. Where do i go to add a pdf printer? The PDF printer icon in the "printers and faxes area" has been removed.

Lost ability to print to .pdf in Illustrator 6

When we had to reinstall OS 10.4.11 Tiger, we lost the ability to print to .pdf in our old Illustrator 6.
Tried to add Adobe .pdf 7.0 to printer list. We have Acrobat 7 Standard. Seemed to allow the add but printer cue keeps jumping to "jobs stopped" on its own when try to create file.

Lost ability to print as PDF following reader upgrade

Just upgraded reader and now have lost 'Print as PDF' as a printer option on my selectable drop down printer list.
Am running a copy of Acrobat X Pro and all was well before reader upgrade completed this am.
Can anyone advise how I recover ability to print as PDF in my print options?

But did you repair Acrobat? The Adobe PDF printer is a function of Acrobat, not Adobe Reader. Uninstalling/reinstalling Acrobat does essentially the same thing as a repair, but takes a bit longer.

Does the hp psc 1210v all-in-one have the ability to print back to front?

My hp psc 1210v all-in-one is still working and it is driving me crazy that this printer doesn't have the ability to print back to front. I am also upset that there is no software to print double sided like with the newer hp printers.
Is it just me or would this printer be perfect if it had these features?

Printing back to front is actually a feature of the software you are using. You can do this in Word on your printer now. This link will go into more detail: "Printing Back to Front."
Lastly, two-sided printing is an accessory part that you put on the back of the printer to make it turn (called a duplexer). Once again, not a feature that can be added to a driver, or this printer for that matter. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but on the plus side, at the HP Parts Store, there are enough parts for this printer, you could keep it running for decades.

With my new computer with win 7, why did my 990cse lose the ability to print banner?

I have kept an HP 990cse solely to print genealogy charts in a banner format. My old computer crashed and I purchased a new one with windows 7 (formerly Win XP). The driver that was downloaded does not have the ability to print these banner charts. Is there another driver I can download to restore this ability

You might try the following: install the HP Deskjet 5550 (HPA) (HP) driver using Add a Printer, select the same post the Deskjet 990cse is on. Click on Windows Update when the list of printers comes up, then select the HP version of the Deskjet 5550 driver.
This should be compatibel with the Deskjet 990, at least for the basic printing. Banner paper is available as an option. Print modes such as some of the photo print modes or automatic paper type selection for the Deskjet 5550 will not likely work, but draft, normal and best modes with specific paper type selected should work.

I have the Apple Configurator. If it has the ability to block printing from an iPad, I was not able to find it. I might check out the windows version. Do you know if the windows woek on iPads (It is called Apple iPhone Configurator)?
1) Apple never renamed "Apple iPhone Configurator" after the iPad come out. Name should be something like Apple iOS Configurator. Apple iPhone Configurator will work with the iPad.
2) Doubt there is a functional difference between the Mac & Windows versions.
3) Check with iOS 6. Some resrictions have changed.

Hi all;
I just installed ios5 on my wifes ipad2, and suddenly lost the ability to print to our Epson printer-among other things. B4 the "upgrade" all was fine, and now all I can find is "no airprint printer". I've never had one that was an "airprint" printer.
Any ideas?

This is a little tough because there are two possible issues. iOS 5 wouldn't cause a failure for an AirPrint printer but as mentioned it does cause a problem for some AirPrint software running on Macs and PCs.
So one guess is that the update just causes some intermittent problem. Power cycling your printer, iPad and router would likely clear that problem.
Another guess is that you never had AirPrint support in the printer and that one of the Macs was sharing the printer instead. iOS killed that sharing solution and so you now have a problem. Some of the Epson printers shipped without AirPrint and need a firmware update. There's information here:

Hi all,

I've had trouble printing Instagram photos in the past using other software as the photos were often missing parts of the frame or photo itself.
The attached guides are how I got around this problem - I'm now able to print Instagram photos in the full.
Hope this is of some help to others with a similar problem.

In the HP Photo Creations directions, notice that the software automatically added a shadow to the image. If you want to turn off the shadow, select the Design tools, then Photo Borders, then hold down the Shift key and click the first preset. (Holding Shift applies the border preset to all photos on the page.)
To make the photo go all the way to the edge of the page, click the green gear on the photo and select Make Photo Full Page from the drop-down menu.

CMYK/Pantone printed guide suggestions

I recently did some business cards, and despite using a Spyder4 to calibrate my monitor, and using the "view proof" CMYK setting, the printed cards came back very differently than the monitor colors.
To avoid this in the future, I want a pre-printed color guide book or swatches with corresponding CMYK values. Even better, would be a printed book or swatch collection with CMYK and Pantone spot colors.
With print media declining, I see more 4-color process (CMYK) options than Pantone spot printers available.
Can anyone suggest a CMYK color guide book that I can literally hold swatches up to the monitor and compare the colors?

Any way to print Guides

I deal with a lot of packaging and mockups. Is there a way to print the guides instead of have to draw fold and cut lines by hand?

Select the guides. Command-option-5. Print. Undo if you want the guides to remain so when you save.

Does Leopard give ability to print labels

I just purchased Leopard and iWorks.
I have been a Appleworks guy for years.
I have a data base I use for labels. I was able to transfer the date easily to numbers BUT numbers does not allow for labels.
Does the new leopard have any work around for labels ?
Otherwise what do iWorks lovers do for labels ??

- 1 - Are you sure that you bought iWorks?
I'm sure that you don't, because such a product doesn't exist.
Apple is selling iWork (without a S)
- 2 - Leopard is an operating system, it is unable to add features to an application.
The unique way to print labels with Pages (not with Numbers) is to use its ability to grab datas from the AddressBook application.
If this is not sufficient (which I may understand according to what I write at the bottom of all my messages here) go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu and describe what you want (you may replace the word Numbers by Pages or Keynote).
