Ability to print to a pdf lost when going from Acrobat 9 to 11

I upgraded from Acrobat 9 standard to 11 standard and have lost the ability to print to a pdf. Where do i go to add a pdf printer? The PDF printer icon in the "printers and faxes area" has been removed.
Thank you

You will have to provide system info and other details. This is way too generic/ vague.

  • Printing to a pdf error after migrating from Acrobat 7 to Acrobat X Professional

Printing to a pdf seems be broken in Acrobat X on my XP machine.
I have just upgraded from Acrobat 7 professional to Acrobat X professional.
With Acrobat 7, printing to a pdf file from within a program (MsWord, Visio etc) was a breeze. Now, with Acrobat X on the same machine, the print spooler always reports 'this document failed to print' even though the pdf is created correctly. I am then forced to cancel the pint job within the spooler itself.
    Any help gratefully received.

  • Session is lost when going from a servlet to a jsp

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I can sucessfully go from my jsp page to the Servlet. When in the servlet I have a service method where I place the information from my form on the jsp on a bean. Then I do a session.setAttribute("aBean", aBean) to place the bean in the session. Then do a req.sendRedirect("my.jsp"). Watching it in the debugger, when we leave the servlet our session is cleared and when we do a jsp:usebean to get the bean session from the session it creates a new bean so all the information is gone that was there before. here is my usebean tag where we are getting it from scope,
              <jsp:useBean id="aBean" scope="session" class="com.MyBean"></jsp:useBean>
              Thanks, Trucker

    <jsp:useBean name="helper" scope="session" class=".."/>
              <jsp:useBean name="helper" scope="session" type=".."/>
              ·class="package.class"
Instantiates a bean from a class, using the new keyword and the class constructor. The class must not be abstract and must have a public, no-argument constructor. The package and class name are case sensitive.
              ·type="package.class"
If the bean already exists in the scope, gives the bean a data type other than the class from which it was instantiated. The value of type must be a superclass of class or an interface implemented by class.
If you use type without class or beanName, no bean is instantiate
In your case you already instantiated the bean “com.MyBean” in servlet and you set bean in session scope. But you are not accessing that bean from servlet. Instead of that you are crating a new bean instance by using class attribute of <jsp: useBean>. So if you want to access the bean already created in servlet you should use type attribute instead of class in <jsp: useBean>. So you have to change your code as follows.
              <jsp:useBean id="aBean" scope="session" type="com.MyBean"></jsp:useBean>
Then you will not lose the bean created in servlet.

  • Help! Trying to print emails w/PDF attachments via bluetooth from 8300 to HP OfficeJet8470

Trying to print emails w/PDF attachments via bluetooth from 8300 to HP OfficeJet8470.
My boss shopped for and picked this phone based on the store staff.  He wants to be able to have our service tech be able to receive work orders via email, in the form of a pdf attachment, and be able to print using the bluetooth enabled HP Office Jet 8470, hardware that was sold to him in another store with the statements that it would work with his application.
Everything I have seen on this site, and the lack of information elsewhere, leads me to question if we have the correct applications/hardware at all...
If so, I need to be able to explain clearly to my boss any options that we have, and why or why not it won't work.
Any ideas at all?  Thanks in advance~    Reagan

Your BlackBerry alone won't connect to a Bluetooth printer. Whoever told him that it would should be questioned.
However, there is an application called BeamSuite, that offers a printing solution specifically for PDF documens that you should explore...
Print Documents to a Bluetooth Enabled Printer
    http://www.slgmobile.com/beamsuite.html
BeamSuite is much more than a document viewer though. You can also print your documents directly from your BlackBerry to any Bluetooth enabled printer. Simply pair your BlackBerry device with the printer and print your documents.
If your printer is not Bluetooth enabled, you can still print your documents to it by connecting a Bluetooth printer adapter to your printer that connects to the printer’s USB port. A key differentiator of our solution is that it allows you to easily and transparently print to over 1500 compatible printers from virtually any BlackBerry device, not just the latest and the most powerful BlackBerry.

  • Is there a way to control the quality of my pdf file when exporting from a .pse file?

Is there a way to control the quality of my pdf file when exporting from a .pse file?
    Hi,
I have 2 pages in all in a .PSE file.
When I try to export it as .PDF, the quality is very poor. I cannot change it to a better quality.
Please advise how I can export the file so that i can have better quality.

Yup, a logo as bitmap takes up more space than the same as a vector -- unless the vector image is bitmap heavy (think Drop Shadow, Outline Glow; these are actually bitmap effects).
Also, check your PDF version. "Older" versions do not support live transparency, the latest do. Then again, you cannot use live transparency if you suspect your viewers may be using Mac OS X, because Apple's own PDF viewer sucks big time.

  • Print issues when going from develope to print

In LR5 when going from Develope to Print, I loose the picture and the print tab is greyed out.  Never had this problem before, did I do something wrong

Make sure the source remains the same - check the filmstrip.
The only suggestion is to place the batch for editing and printing into a collection or (temporary) quick collection and access the images from there in both modules.

Error message when copying from Acrobat Reader - any file,  any time (Win 7, Adobe many versions until recent).
Copy works, but causes a needless and useless error message that has to be clicked away every time.
This problem is published on the web for a million times without a working solution. And even in the Adobe forum no qualified answer (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/441370)
When can I expect a solution?

    Thanks, Rich

In order to be cross platform you must be using the Open Type version of all fonts to cause the least disruption. Macs can read and process the Windows .ttf  type format but PCs can't process Mac formatted type. Most recent versions also cannot use the older PS Type 1 fonts.

  • Why can't I print out a PDF file when I am on Firefox? It takes me to Preview to print instead of staying on Firefox.

When I go to a website that has a PDF file and try to print it, it sends me to Preview and when I try to print, the computer freezes up. This does not happen on Safari. Why can't I print a PDF file when I am on Firefox?

To print a PDF, you need to use the print command from the PDF reader plugin instead of firefox's one. If there is no icons bar in the plugin, try right-click on a page from the pdf -> Print.

  • Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing: What functionality is lost when disabling? What else uses them?

Server OS: Windows 2008 R2 Standard
Function: Primary Domain Controller and Print Server
Clients: All are running Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit SP1
We're considering disabling the HP Universal Print Driver Language Monitor and in-turn Bi-directional Printing due to potential server spooler instabilities, before we do this the IT Manager wants to be sure:
    1. What functionality is lost when disabling Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing?
    2. What else uses Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing them? In other words what may break?
    3. What specifically do Language Monitors and Bi-directional Printing provide?
    Thanks

    Alan (or anyone else):
We're testing disabling the language monitor/bidirectional printing for one particular printer.
Can I confirm this is the procedure for disabling a particular print queue's Language Monitor and Bidirectional Printing? -
    1. Locate the relevant Language Monitor registry key in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors
Either delete or rename the registry key (so it cannot be found), in my case: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\HPMLM121
I renamed it to have the date at the end (HPMLM121_2015-01-29).
    2. Inside the above registry key is a DLL file mentioned under the DRIVER reference. In my case it's called: hpmlm121.dll.
I searched the entire C drive on the server and this was only found in C:\Windows\System32. I moved this elsewhere out of C:\Windows and also renamed the DLL too.
Therefore preventing Windows from being able to find/use it.
    3. I then unticked Bidirectional Printing Support in the Printer Properties Ports tab of the printer in question.
    4. Lastly either restart the server (or stop/restart the Spooler service).
I've done all this and the HP Print Notifications for Replace Cartridge etc... are still active.
    Any idea why this is?
    Thanks

  • Pdf file when made from inDesign is not cutting vector images outside of its windows

    Hello,
I have a page in illustrator full of vector images. I bring it into InDesign and crop them by putting each piece in it's own window. Then, I make a pdf. When I open the pdf in Illustrator it looks fine but when I hit the preview/artwork option, I can see that all the images from that original Illustrator doc with it. Is there any way to have just the vectors I have revealed through each InDesign window come in? The InDesign Files contains multiple pages and each window contain only ones part of that illustrator file...but all the other pieces in the illustrator file stay outside that cropped area of the window when brought into Illustrator again...anyone know how to avoid this?
    thanks
    babs

I just did a banner for a local plumbing contractor and used InDesign to
create it. I placed a vector drawing on the banner and masked it off
using a frame right to the edge of the banner.
I exported a PDF but the printe came back asking for an Illustrator
file. Fine, it's just one line of text anyway and the drawing so I open
it in Illy and it looks fine. Resave and the guy comes back telling me
that his RIP can't handle the masked image. All I can say is thank
heavens for the eraser tool in Illustrator. It would have taken me
forever to fix this with the pen tool.
So, apparently there are reasons (I didn't see any point in grilling the
guy about his workflow, it was a one-off and I'll likely never have to
work with him again) to crop instead of mask. So it's either the eraser
in Illy or rasterize the thing in Photoshop and crop it there.

  • [SOLVED] Acpid prints an error on tty when switching from X

First of I am using Openrc and eudev. I set up acpi and noticed that it prints error (posted below) to tty. It also shows the error when I press ctrl+alt+F10 even though tty number 10 is not spawned. Everything seems to work, it is just anoyin gand gets in a way. The same error is not shown in terminal emulator running X.
    The exact error:
    acpid: client 1302[0:100] has disconnected.
I just noticed it prints this error every time I switch from X to tty. And it prints the error to that tty. So if I swithc 5 time to tty2 and 3 times to tty5, I'd see the mesage 5 times on tty2 and 3 times on tty3.

    Workaround (far from ideal solution):
X recognizes the powerbutton as XF86Poweroff, sosetting a bindkey for poweroff workswhile I'm in X. Could this way of doing things be more violent on shutdown compared to acpid's way of doing it? Are the same scripts run at shutdown in bot cases (those that show in openrc's shutdown run level)?

    Hi bstaletic,
If I understand correctly, you are having some acpi errors (or do you mean acpid)..
Here are the packages my side:
    $ pacman -Qs acpi
    local/acpi 1.7-1
Client for battery, power, and thermal readings
    local/acpid 2.0.23-2
A daemon for delivering ACPI power management events with netlink support
    local/acpid-openrc 20141107-1 (openrc openrc-desktop)
    OpenRC acpid init script
I dont think I am having errors..
    $ dmesg | grep acpi
    (gives no output)
I use a display manager (lxdm) to start X.
