Ability to restrict access to different Plan Types in Planning 11.1.2 ?

Hi, we're running Planning/EPM version 11.1.2, with DRM and EPMA.
We're creating a new Plan Type (Plan 2) within the Planning app, and if possible I'd like to restrict access to this 2nd plan type to only a small group of users. This 2nd plan type would be for additional what-if testing and we don't want their work to interfere with the main cube in Plan 1. Is it possible to use security provisioning or another technique so I can restrict who can have access to Plan 2?
Also if I can do this, is it also possible to have Planning data forms that are only visible to Plan 2 and it's users?
Thanks in advance.

You can restrict forms easily using groups and/or direct provisioning.
Typically you will always have security on your scenario dimension; I suggest using scenario or version security to restrict access to your data.

    HI all,
I notice than there new feature under planning.
the ability to create ASO plan type under planning.
but in documentation i don't understand if this part is not available under planning licence .
is this new feature involde to purchase new licence on essbase and in this case we have application user wich licence is needed (cpu) ?
    can some one help?

Administrators can now add an aggregate storage option (ASO) database to a Planning application using Planning application administration.
Administrators can create an ASO plan type during application creation, or they can add a new plan type using the new plan type editor. See Plan Type Editor. Write back to ASO cubes within Planning is supported.
    Note:
To use ASO databases in Planning, you must have the required license.

You also need the Essbase license to be able to use that functinality, probably best discussing with your Oracle account manager for the full details.

  • Planning Type : Aggregate .Planning

    Hi,
I am using flexible planning with level by level infostructure . while creation of planning type  there is indicator for aggr. planning , can any one explain me how it works
    Regards

If the aggregate planning indicator is turned on, one can navigate (drill down/up) thru your planning levels, when in the planning table.

  • Difference between Account members of 2 different plan types

Can we find out difference between members of Account dimensions having source as 2 different plan types. One of the plan type has 2 extra dimensions also.

You should be able to do this as long as one of the accounts is ALSO present in the plan type that the other account is stored in. So probably Acc.member2
could be set to have a "Source plan Type" of plan 2, but also be selected to appear in plan 1 when you edit the Acc.member2 account in the Planning web application. Planning would enable the account to appear in plan 1 via an XREF on the account member definition in Essbase) .
Then in plan 1 you would set up a third account which would calculate the difference between the 2.
You would be able to analyse the variance only by the dimensions in plan 1 (i.e. D1, 2, 3, & 4: those dimensions common to both plan types)
    Hope this helps

  • Provisioning varying admin access levels by Planning plan types

How can I provision admin access levels by plan types? For example, I'd like to grant a user full admin access to one plan type, but limit their access for another plan type within the same application? The plan type I want to limit them to is basically a workforce plan type which I do not want to allow them to have any admin access to. Anyone know how to do this?

I took a look at the blog and my current setup design mostly follows what is on the blog. I too have a workforce plan type along with other plan types in the Planning application. What I'm trying to see if it's possible is to setup a user with admin access to manage and modify the member outlines for 2 out of the 3 plan types in Planning, but not give him access to the workforce plan type as that has sensitive compensation information. But it appears that if he's granted admin access to modify the application outline, then he would be able to grant himself access to the workforce members, which then means I can't provision him with limited admin rights while also preventing him from access to the workforce information.

  • BW : RSA1 with restrict access, possible?

    Hi all,
Its possible use RSA1 with restrict access ?
You can implement the transaction RSA1 restriction of access.
    Example:
Some users can not use the part of source systems (TCODE RSA13).
In this example, we block the transaction RSA13, however using RSA1 itself unable to access the part of source systems.
    thz

Just to add some more info to Durgesh's reply...
Using obj S_RS_ADMWB you can restrict access to different ares of AWB. See online docu on this topic:

  • How to create dynamic calc account in multi-plan type application

    Hi expert,
I have a planning application with 3 plan types.
I created a calculation script which fixed on accounts in plan type 1 only and the calculation suppose to calculate a "dynamiccalc" account with a member formula attached. Everytime I run the script, it takes very long time and I found there are sessions at the back of essbase with "Process local xref/xwrite request" request to other plan types.
It does not has this kind of session if I change the account to "store".
Would like to check, is it possible to create a dynamic calc account to calculate for only 1 plan type in a multi-plan type application? Is there any special setting that I need to do to enable this? I already selected source plan type as Plan type 1 for my dynamic calc account. Please help!
    Many thanks!!
My HP application is on version 11.1.2.1.

    Hi Jake,
Thanks for pointing out the check box. Overlooked it and the checkbox was not unchecked, even I only wanted the account to exist in 1 of the plan type.
However, after I unchecked and refresh now, when I run the calc script, it still trigger process at the back to the other 2 plan types with "Process local xref/xwrite request" request. What else could I have missed?
I already added the "HSP_Nolink" UDA to all accounts in plan type 2 and plan type 3 and confirmed that there's no account with "Xref" member formula, I really don't know why it is trying to process local xref request. Can anyone help??
    Many thanks!!!

  • Sharing accounts across 2 plan types  - Planning 9.3.1

This is my first attempt to share accounts across 2 plan types and I am not getting expected results. In the setup, account 1234 was assigned to both Plan A and plan B with the "source plan type" as Plan B. When I create a form for Plan B, everything looks good and I can input data into account 1234. Then I created a similar form for Plan A using the same account. With all other dimensions being the same, I expect that I would see the data input for Plan B, account 1234 in the Plan A form as a read only field.
Are my expectations incorrect? If so, then I don't understand the benefit of sharing accounts across multiple plan types.
    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

One benefit would be how you use the same data in one plan type against the other. A simple example:
Let's say in your example Plan B represents Revenue and Plan A represents Expense - one way some people design Planning applications. Let's also say that your company calculates expense as a percent of revenue.
The revenue group enters revenue figures into acct 1234 into the Plan B form.
When the expense group pulls up the Plan A form, which also shows acct 1234 (but as read-only), they can now calculate against it. So an expense user can enter % values into some other acct in Plan A, "Exp % Rev", and have it calculate against the read-only acct 1234 being x-ref'ed from Plan B.
    Plan B Form:
    ___________Jan__Feb
    "acct 1234"_100__100 (input)
    Plan A Form:
    ____________Jan___Feb
    "acct 1234"___100__100 (read-only)
    "Exp % Rev"__5%___5% (input)
    "Rev Exp"_____5____5 (calculated)
The benefit here is that no data movement or copy is necessary between plan types for this to work, assuming the x-ref is dynamically calculated. Users can see data in both places.
This is just a simple example, however, and may not make sense in all situations.
    Hope that helps!

  • Restrict Access To Page Not Working with Different Auth Levels

I have just started playing with the idea of using different auth levels to allow different users access to certain pages on my site.
Within my SQL database I have a authlevel table consisting of 3 possible levels (guest, user, admin)
I am using the Dreamweaver "Log in user" to log in users based on username, pass, and auth level and "Restrict access to page" set to allow user levels 'user' and 'admin'.
The problem, however, occurs when trying to log in.  No matter what auth level I try I am redirected to my page where users should be redirected if they are not allowed to enter that page.

you don't need all that bloat.  set a session during login of some kind of uniquely identifying id.  i.e.
    $_SESSION['id'] = $row_rs['id'];
then on the pages you need to protect, check it like this....
    <?php
    session_start();
    if (!(isset($_SESSION['id']) && $_SESSION['id'] != '')) {
    die(header("Location: http://www.notinprotectedareas.com")); }
    ?>
you can use an include file i.e.
    <?php require_once('login_check.php'); ?>
where file is name login_check.php to make your auth controls clean on your protected pages.

  • Control Authorisation Access based on Planning type in Flexible SOP

    hi,
How can we control MC93  and MC94 access based on Planning type for different users?i.e only certain Planning types allowed for one user.

    Hello
I would like to do the same...
So far the only thing I can find is enhancement MCP20005 which allows you to extend authorization check for planning.  The planning type is available in this function module and if you return subrc ne 0 authorization is denied.
    Hope you find this helpful.
    Thanks,
    Heidi

  • Restricting access for condition types in VK11

    Hi
ZWX1 and ZWX2 are SD discount condition types, I should use these condition types  only for sales deal , hence , I will create condition record only in VB21 with reference to sales deal.
Some other users may create condition records in VK11 mistakenly, I need to avoid it, so these condition types should not be accessible to create condition records in VK11 or anywhere except  VB21.
Any thought ? how can I achieve this ?
    thanks

    Hi
If you want to restrict the access for the condition types then you give the authorization for VK11 for maritaining  the condition records only to those users who has  to maintain the condition records for that condition types. So you have to take the help of BASIS team

  • Different type of planned orders

    Hello Friends,
I went to an interview, in which I've been asked a question to describe different type of Planned Orders ?????????
Is there type's of planned orders in MTS or MTO environments ???
    Pls enlighten me on this.
    Thanks Sir,

    Rahul,
For interview questions, you should first consult with SAP online help before posting a question on this forum.
In SAP, there are not planned order types, there are planned order profiles.  SAP supplies some basic ones, and you can create additional profiles as well.  Reference to order profiles when creating planned orders
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/f4/7d310944af11d182b40000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
    and surrounding pages.
Configuration for Planned order profiles at OMDD.  Doc:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/48/e92c7dd435d1118b3f0060b03ca329/content.htm
Standard as-delivered Planned order profiles are
    KB     Standard purchase order
    KD     Individual customer order
    LA     Stock order
    LB     Standard purchase order
    LBE     Standard purchase order
    NB     Standard purchase order
    NBE     Standard purchase order
    PR     Project order
    UL     Standard purchase order
You can see the details of these in OMDD.

  • Integrated Planning - No ability for restrictions on Aggreg. Level ?

    Hi there,
I have noticed in the new Integrated planning that it is only possible to restrict data at the filter level.
In comparison to the old BPS, where you could restrict data at both the Planning Level and Planning package is this not a slight reduction in functionality ?
This will mean that it will be necessary to repeatedly assign variables / static restrictions to many filters which have similar selection criteria rather than maintaining them once at the Aggregation Level
Does anyone know if it is envisaged that selection will be possible on aggregation levels in upcoming support packages?
    thanks
    Mark

    Hi SR,
thanks, so it will be available in  BI 7.1 ?  (which is SP12 isnt it?)  or in a later release ?
    Many thanks.
    Mark

  • SOP-Planning type (MC8A): copying data between different columns

    Hi everyone,
I would be very grateful if someone could tell me whether it is possible to define a macro instruction in a planning type (MC8A) in order to copy a value from one column to another.
Thanks in advance and best regards.
    Ben.

    Dear SatheeshkumarD ,
Thanks a lot for your help.
What I am really trying to carry out is exactly the thing you indicate in point 2.
For example, I have a value in one field in column B (week X) and I would like to move that value to another field in column A (week X-2). Both fields are in dissagregated level in the planning table.
In the next example, I would like to move the value ´3´in field A W2 to field B W1.
         W1      W2      W3
    A               3
    B    3
    C
I hope you know now exactly what I am looking for.
    Thanks again and best regards.
    Ben.
