Ability to work offline in safari and gmail

Is there an app to use so I can work offline in safari/gmail?

for safari, you can use reading list feature so that you can read websites even if you're offline, i'm not aware for gmail.

Safari and Gmail Chat

I set up my wife’s gmail account on her macbook and then we went through the idea that we could chat while I was at work (offshore). So I invited her to chat and she went through the process to be able to chat and BLANK, every time she tried to use chat nothing would happen so after many failed attempts we kind of gave up.
Anyway at work I decided to try using two PC computers and Bobs your uncle it worked, so I again asked my wife to try but BLANK so I got my wife to open Windows XP (she also has boot camp) and Bobs your uncle we can chat.
So what is the problem with Safari and Gmail?

Unfortunately now you can only get the chat working in Firefox as far as I know. You can however download Adium (http://www.adiumx.com/) and add the Google Talk account and get it running there. Hopefully a future update to Safari 3 will fix this

No voice when selecting "start speeking" in mail, but works fine in Safari and text edit.

I Plugged Headphones in to headphone jack and selected speech in mail and could here voice through headphones.
Disconnected headphones and 'Mail' 'Speech' now plays fine through speakers ?

Safari and Gmail very slow

This may be a sign of Google releasing that BUZZ thing, but I have noticed gmail to very slow with Safari. Getting a lot of "still working" messages. I have BUZZ turned off. But I am assuming that BUZZ might be dragging their network down with high traffic.
Of course, I have reset safari, etc..

Also, try Safari maintenance..
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

Repair disk permissions..
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
Make sure the there's enough free disk space. Not enough will slow the drive down. Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. *Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.*

Safari and Gmail continuous loading

I have noticed that after you log into your mail, gmail seems to continue to load for a long period of time. The main page loads, but just continues to load (from the spinning sprocket in the address bar). I have reset safari, etc. Everything seems to work. Just wondered if anyone else has seen this.

And...
1. Quit Safari if it's running.
2. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Safari and delete all the sub-folders within that one.
3. Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete any of these files you have there:
• Downloads.plist
• History.plist
• LastSession.plist
4. Restart Safari and restart your Mac.

Sessions not working in Firefox, Safari and Chrome, but working in iexplore

I have been running Tomcat 5.0.18 jdk 1.4. and have just upgraded to Tomcat 6.0.24 jdk 1.6..
I have an app that you need to log on to in a jsp page. When succesfully logged in it redirects to a framed page with 3 pages in it.
All elements of that framed page check for a valid session, if there is one, it displays itself, if not, it redirects back to the log on screen.
This has worked fine for years in all browsers. But since upgrading, in Firefox, Safari and Chrome, when the parent framed page jsp checks for a session, its fine, it passes, but when the other sub-frame pages check for a session, it comes back as a new session, i.e. its not picking up the session that has just been validated and redirects to the login page. Iexplore still works fine. i.e. all 3 pages validate ok.
Any ideas why these browsers are not pickng up the session?

As a test, try putting an empty JSP in front of it that triggers the session to be created, and then redirects (with a HTTP meta refresh for example) to the frameset jsp to see if that fixes anything.
If that fixes it, then I guess the pages load too quickly.

Shortcuts do not work anymore in Safari and Maps since I updated to Yosemite

Since I upgraded to Yosemite, both Safari 8.0 and Maps 2.0 do not respond to any shortcuts, like "cmd q" to quit or "cmd c" to copy. I have to do everything manually which is quite frustrating, as it slows my workflow down. I can only use the shortcuts if I click on the bar at the top of the window (Safari File Edit View etc.).
I bought my Mac 6 months ago and so don't think i'ts because of the hardware .__. I only have the problem with Safari and Maps.
Can someone help me please?

I can't sign into my Youtube account on Firefox, but it works fine on Safari and Google Chrome. Deleting my web history, cookies, and etc didn't help. PLZ HELP!

I click on sign in on Youtube.com and it takes me to the sign in page. I enter my information (correctly, duh) and then I am returned to the Youtube home page. I try to click Sign in again and the page is just refreshed. My account still exists bc I can reach it on Safari and Google Chrome, but I don't want to have to switch browsers. By the way the cookies ARE enabled, so Idk what the problem is.

hello, please also make sure that in particular youtube.com & accounts.google.com are allowed to set cookies (at least for the session)...

Safari and GMail -- Crash when selecting a message

All,
I just got a new MacBook Pro, he Safari instance on my machine is 2.0.4 which I believe is the newest non-beta version. I am able to log into GMail, however when ever I try and select a specific message, the application crashes out to a "Report to Apple" screen. I've flushed the cache, reset Safari, and zapped the PRAM. Has anyone else ever seen this behavior?

I have the same issue. I have sub-folders, but have been using Thunderbird for many years and this was never an issue, though I had a similar issue a year or so ago because of a McAfee issue that was finally solved. I usually have less than 20 e-mails in my inbox. I delete or file messages daily.

Safari and Gmail

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is in the right thread? However whenever I try and attach a word file using gmail it says every file has a virus. It is extremely annoying having to paste everything into the body of the e-mail. Please help!!!

I can attach Word docs to gmail emails with no trouble. Are you using Safari on a Mac? What versions of Safari and the Mac OS?

Fails to connect and I get meassage that am working offline which I have not chosen to do. When I go into file menue I find that Work offline is ticked and unticking this sometimes solves the problem but not always.

Ofen imposssible tgo connect. Get the message am working offline but never choose this. This happens no matter where I use my portrable.

Calling a method in a signed applet from JavaScript does not do anything. Same functionality works in IE, Safari and Chrome. Is this a limitation of the JavaScript implementation?

Safari and Gmail Problem

I recently purchased an iMac, and have Leopard installed. I created separate accounts for my family members on the computer before realizing that Gmail only worked on the administrator account. On every other account when I attemtped to view Gmail, the browser showed this error message:
Safari can’t open the page “http://mail.google.com/mail?hl=en&tab=wm” because it could not connect to the server “mail.google.com”.
I have Safari 3.0.4 and am baffled at why Gmail only works on the administrator account.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I had partial success with this. In the Parental Controls pane, you can add sites that are explicitly allowed. So I added
http://mail.google.com
and later another Google site (don't recall the URL) that was also claimed to be unreachable. That enabled Gmail to be read. However, when we tried sending a message, Gmail claimed to be suffering "technical problems". Maybe some other site needs to be added to the list.

Safari and Gmail videochat

Since the latest update of Lion, I have been experiencing the impossibility to have a videochat on gmail with Safari. I have a macbook Air, with an embedded camera. I tested the Gmail VideoChat with Chrome, and it works perfectly, whereas on Safari I can't see my side of the videochat. Anyone has a tip?

Go to Safari / Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click Details
Type google in the search field top right corner of that window then click Remove All / Done.
Quit then relaunch Safari.
Try a video chat.
