Able to help me find a template LabVIEW code to pilot a simple autonomous robot?

We are using XP operating sytem and LabVIEW to power a tetrix/NXT kit and both of us are beginner programmers (still learning how to move this thing forward.) Is there some existing code temple we could learn fromand adapt to our robot, which will use ultrasonic, light, & touch to find its way through a maze?
Thanks!

I don't know if you are familiar with it, but there is a forum on this site devoted to Lego Mindstorm/NXT issues where I would guess more NXT "experts" hang out. It is located at :http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Education-Edition/bd-p/460, since I can't seem to embed the link.

Hello, once I found a collection of source code files that contained example code for using the JavaMail API. Now I cannot find the collection. Is it still online? Can anyone help me find the JavaMail example code? Sorry if this question seems to easy - I've been searching for a while now without success.

  • LabView code module to perform simple pass/fail *IDN? query?

LabView 7.1, TestStand 3.1, NI PCIGPIB board controlling a communications service monitor and a power supply. I'm having problems with my application sync correctly between the service monitor and GPIB board. I suspect the driver. Does anyone have a simple LabView code module to perform a *IDN? with a partial (in case they change firmware versions)string comparison that I can use in a TestStand seq. At this point if failure I could pop-up and tell operator to abort test and reboot instrument. (only way I've found to clear the buffer). Note: At times this app works fine and is inconsistant in failure times/rates.
Sorry so wordy and thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply Craig.
I've found I can perform a *IDN? using the Instrument I/O Assistant.vi. Ive placed this on a new block diagram and am changing it as I need. I've found in this particular case the *IDN? yields 3 tokens one of which I can use to perform a string comparison on. This will give me a boolean which I can wire to the pane for use by TestStand.

  • Help me find the UPC/Bar code on my iBook box

    Guys,
I need to fill out this rebate for my iPod mini (http://images.apple.com/promo/pdf/Studentunion.pdf) and it asks me to cut out the bar code off the box of the iPod and iBook.
I found the iPod bar code, but for the life of me I can't find the iBook. I looked at every corner of the box and didn't find a bar code section which contained the serial number and part number. Where is that bar code located (This is important, this is $170! :))
Also, my iPod part number doesn't have enough letters to fill the box in the .PDF. Is that okay?
(I couldn't figure out if this is the right forum to ask this or not, so if it isn't please direct me to the right place).
One more thing, can I fill out the rebate form on a computer through PDF editing?
    Thanks
    Eric

Do you know who I can call/email to verify?
(yeah, I know it sounds like I am too lazy to write it out. My handwriting is very bad in these spaces. I already wrote it out and its hard for me to write it. I am so used to printing things out. On top of that, the address of my apple store goes off the spaces!)
    Thanks again

  • How can I sanitize Labview code?

It's not classified, but it needs to be screened to get it out of the building I work in.  Security is concerned about hidden information when you can't read something as ascii.

Probably not viable, but maybe you can you save your individual VIs as snippets?
They would be PNG files that could be scanned for what, I don't know.
They wouldn't need LabVIEW to 'view' the code.
I'd be curious if that would pass muster.
One of my thoughts would be if you were able to carry out pictures of your LabVIEW code.  (Hardcopy since it seems that they are afraid of any electronic storage devices leaving the facility.)  At least then you'd have enough information to recreate you VI's like you said.
A snippet would be appear to be a picture.  But it is actually a vehicle for carrying out other information behind it.  There is more info in that .png file than just a picture.  It contains all the code to be able to recreate the VI.  Well if a .png file on disk or USB key can do that, then what is stopping someone from figuring out how to hide sensitive secrets in the metadata of that .png file just like the LabVIEW code is buried in it?

go out and gather together all players you can run on Lion:
MpegstreamClip, with QuickTime pro as the engine you can open and export just about anything.
Flip4Mac, buy it and you can convert and export to wmv. Usefull if you must have wmvs in PowerPoint.
    Perian
    VLC
    Divx for Mac
Elgato h264 Turbo if you want to create h264 fast.

I am afraid slow performance is a built in feature of this database design, not much you can do in queries.
You could possibly create the views as materialized views and query those instead.
    Quote from the linked article
But, how does it perform? Miserably, terribly, horribly. A simple "select
first_name, last_name from person" query is transformed into a 3-table join with
aggregates and all. Further, if the attributes are "NULLABLE" - that is, there
might not be a row in OBJECT_ATTRIBUTES for some attributes, you may have to
outer join instead of just joining which in some cases can remove more optimal
    query plans from consideration.
Writing queries might look pretty straightforward, but it's impossible to do in
    a performant fashion.

  • Help me find & order best cable to connect MacBook Pro 10.7.5 to Zenith HDTV? Time sensitive!

I am having trouble not having the right cable when connecting my MacBook Pro 10.7.5 OS X to my Zenith 50" flatscreen HDTV- the laptop was purchased in July, and HDTV is one year old.  I moved to Central America (Belize) in August, so am lacking in tech support or purchasing options here, and I only know just enough to be dangerous--I am a relatively new Mac user.  I just found out I have a friend coming to visit in 10 days who can bring something if I can get it to her! It would take me days to research and decide what I might need, and then it might still not be right.  I thought you guys might help me find something quickly.
The cables I brought have allowed video but not sound, and I would like to order whatever I may need online and have delivered to her to bring with her when she comes, making us somewhat short on time. Bear with me while I try to describe what I have.  On the Mac, I have a couple different ports that I am unsure what they are called (along with the usual 2 USB ports). One has the lighting strike symbol next to it, the other looks like a little cheerleader with her arms & pom poms in the air, and the third is the flat one that I used to be able to use to connect my (now gone) iPhone. The MacBook does not have an HDMI port.  On the Zenith HDTV, I have the usual AV in-ports, and HDMI ports, and a port that looks like an HDMI port only more square.
Just a side note, my husband also has a 6 month old Ipad and we do have the little pigtail to use to hook it up to the TV which works great for the iPad, but I would prefer to use my MacBook so we can watch the movies we put on an external hard drive before moving. I am unsure exactly what cord I need, only that what I brought with me to Belize is not what I need, and apparently can't be found here-no one carries Mac stuff even in the capital city of Belmopan.
(I also have a cranky older 13" mid-2009 model MacBook pro 10.6.8 OS X I have quit using cuz it's quirkly-- that doesn't produce sound through the tv either--but doesn't have the same ports as the new Mac --if there is something we can use to hook it up, that would be great too-I would order both, then I could leave that as a dedicated movie/internet tv box)
Any help, descriptions or pictures or links to what I might be able to order to make either one work and have delivered quickly so she could bring would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. You guys Rock!

You need two things: a mini-Displayport to HDMI adaptor, and a regular HDMI cable.
The mini-Displayport connector on the Macbook is the one you've described with the lightning bolt. That port on your Macbook is actually called Thunderbolt, but for this purpose it's acting as a mini-Displayport connector.
When you buy the Displayport adaptor, make sure you get one that supports audio. Not all do.
I'm sorry I don't know the best options available to you in Belize, but hopefully that information will help you approach a local electronics supplier.

  • How to find out the labview-version of a vi

    Hello,
is there a way to find out the labview-version of a vi?
I have different projects here and o am not sure which project is created with which labview-version.
Now i can do it manually to open each vi with different lv-version and check when i can opn it.
Or is there a tool that can do this for me?
    thanks for tips

Ultimately I wrote the utility that I'm attaching to this post.  It's in LV2012, so it will only report LV versions up through 2012.
This isn't true at all.  The "Get VI Version"  invoke node will return the version of the VI, regardless of the development environment.  If you used that property in LabVIEW 7.1 and the VI file was a 2013 it will return the version 2013 which is the version of the VI, not the version of the developement environment.
My utility will examine all vi, vit, and ctl files.  lvproj files throw error 1059 when input to Get VI Reference.
This is because the project is not a VI and getting the VI reference to a non VI file throws an error.  To do this you would need to use the Project >> Open Invoke node to get a reference to the project, and then use that reference to get the version.
I also couldn't help but notice you aren't closing any of your references that you are opening.  This will mean each time you run this VI your memory will increase.  It will also increase much faster with a larger number of VIs.  Put a Close Reference function closing all the VI references you open.
If you are interested in reading the version from disk instead of opening references you will need to look at the "vers" block data in the VI.  Assembling it is a little bit of a pain but you can figure it out if you know the version you are looking for when developing the code.

    -Reece,
We only have 1 single domain, 1 domain forest, no subdomains, only alias. I had replied to the other post as well. But I am happy to paste it here in case anyone want to read it.
So, after a few months of testing, capture and sending logs back and forth to Apple Engineers, we found out there is a setting in AD, under User Account that prevent us to log into AD from Mountain Lion. If you would go to your AD server, open up a user account properties, then go to Account tab, the "Do not require Kerberos preauthentication" option is checked. As soon as I uncheck that option, immediately I was able to log into AD on the Mac client. Apple engineers copied all my AD settings and setup a test environment on their end and match exact mine AD environment. They was able to reproduce this issue.
The bad part about this is... our environment required the "Do not require Kerberos preauthentication" is checked in AD, in order for our users to login into some of our Unix and Linux services. Which mean that it is impossible for us to remove that check mark because most, if not all of them some way or another require to login into applications that run on Unix and Linux. Apple is working to see if they can come up with a fix. Apparently, no one has report this issue except us. I believe most of you out there don't have that check mark checked in your environment... Anyone out there have any suggestion to by pass or have a work around for this?

  • Someone out there must be able to help me.

I am a spec ed teacher who does a lot of evals and IEP writing on my own time from home. My school uses a program called skyward. Since upgrading to leopard I can no longer log into school and work from home. The tech support (pc users) do not understand mac products and have tried to help but can't seem to be able to help me. They think safari might be the problem and have suggested using a different browser such as firefox. I tried it and still can't log on. Apple support says they can't help me and that it is a school problem call them. NO ONE WILL HELP ME!!!!! What should I do??? Who can I get in contact with? Can anyone please help me???

Do you know how to enable the Debug Menu so you can change the User Agent so as to tell the web site that you are using web browser B instead of A?
Does it require plug-in like Flash or javascript. There is a new version of flash though it doesn't solve everyone's problems.
You tried Firefox (2.0.0.11, there is 3.0 beta also). OmniWeb is what I use, and easy to configure. There is also Opera and Camino.
When "upgrading" to Leopard or a new version of any browser, it helps to clear out the cache files and folders and prefs from the old version first.
    /Users/account/Library/Caches/
Where you will find "Safari" and "Metadata" folders that are just temp files.

Install Tiger on an external drive and use that temporarily. You could even install Windows on your Mac via Parallels or Code Weaver for just this and use Microsoft Internet Explorer.
