ABNAN- Posting not possible (Asset does not manage postable areas)

Hi Experts,
I am trying to do a post capitalization creating a new asset using transaction ABNAN with the transaction type 400.
I get the Error " Posting not possible (Asset does not manage postable areas) "
Can some one help me with this.

On of my exit variable keeps issuing me the following message when selecting a value:
UPC_F104 Entry not possible, var does not have replacement type user-spec. vals
This exit variable is based on other variables (non-user specific). The indicator 'Restriction of values required by user' is flagged.
Any idea what might be the issue ?

David,
User exit variables won't work if there are multiple rows of values being derived incase 'Restriction of values required by user' is flagged.
Make sure that derivation of variable value is restricted to only one row.
if you have a need to derive multiple rows of values, simply uncheck the flag 'Restriction of values required by user' & you will be good to go.

Group asset does not manage area 01-Msge no. AA809 in AW01N-Parameter Tab

For my Client in Development Server,
When i select Parameter Tab- in t.c.AW01N.
The below error message is coming for all Asset Classes Assets.
Group asset does not manage area 01
Message no. AA809
Diagnosis
You have specified for the asset that depreciation area 01 is to be managed in group asset . However, depreciation area 01 is not managed on the group asset level.
Procedure
Correct your entry.
I have checked in
1.Specify Depreciation Areas for Group Assets(T.C.OAYM),
For depreciation area 01-Group Asset check box is not selected.
2. Specify Asset Classes for Group Assets(t.c.OAAX).
In this screen for all Asset Classes(except Group Asset Class), check boxes are not selected(for class consists entirely of group assets).
Please any one guide me how to solve this issue.
But there is no this type of error in Production Server.

This asset has 4 depreciation areas all attatched to Group asset
1665265. But, this group asset has only 3 depreciation areas. When you
would double click on Asset 1665268, you would come across Error Msg
AA809.

ABUMN-error "Posting transaction is not possible (Value date not allowed)"

Hi,
When we are trying to transfer asset within company code thru Tcode ABUMN, we are getting a error as
"Posting transaction is not possible (Value date not allowed)"
What actually we are doing is we are trying to transfer the previous year asset for example say 01.04.2007 assets on today.
the Parameters are as below
Document date :26.03.2008
Posting Date :26.03.2008
Asset value date is 01.04.2007.
Then the system is throwing an error and not alloing to post the previous year transfers.
Can any one help me out.

Hi,
I think, if you give old asset value date, system will give you the error. This may be because, you are trying to transfer the assets with old values, means in your examble the dep. from the 01.04.2007 to 29.02.2008 whould have been charged.
So, give the current year date means any date from 01.01.2008 to till date.
If you read F1 help for the value date column, it states,
Asset value date
The asset value date is the value date for Asset Accounting. It can deviate from the posting and document date and be in posting periods already closed for Financial Accounting. However, the posting year and asset value date year must be the same.
Since the asset value date can have a direct influence on the amount of depreciation, the system creates a default value when it can. You can specify in Customizing how the the default asset value date is determined by the system.

Account assignment not possible (Asset not assigned to a business area)

While posting an asset acquisition through F-90 by entering Business area, doc.type AA,TT-100,PK-70, i am getting the error messege AA483 - "Account assignment not possible (Asset not assigned to a business area)".
I have correctly created asset master and assigned Business area and Cost centre.
And i am not getting any problem in another company code for same asset class.
Please suggest

Hello
Assets are assigned to a single business area in their master record. Every posting to an asset balance sheet account is automatically posted to that business area. The business area for an asset is passed on to all line items connected with the asset. Therefore you do not need to make a manual account assignment for a business area at any point.

Error in CJ88 Posting transaction is not possible (value date not allowed)

When i try CJ88 with a wbs element, it shows the following error :
Posting transaction is not possible (value date not allowed)
Message no. AA 478
Diagnosis
A retirement was already posted on the asset 000022400733 0041 on 20091231. Based on the value date 20091231 of the transaction, this transaction should have been included in the calculation of values for the retirement.
System Response
The transaction is rejected.
Procedure
Check the value date of the transaction.
In need to put year 2009 in date of the transaction, but it isnt posible. ¿Why? I dont know very much about asset accounting...

It is not allowing for WBS element final settlement, because of your asset already retairement was done.
By best suggetion is, You will create the new WBS element and transfer the all cost line items from old WBS element to new WBS element, then you will try to settlement for another asset in CJ88.

Only posted values for Navigation does not work

I have a problem where all master data is shown in the input help for a variable, even when the setting for the info object is to show only posted values.
In a WEB template I have tree reports using tree different data providers. The setting in the web template is to show the same variable only once and that works. The setting of the info objects is to show only posted values. That does not work!
When using the input help for a variable, all master data shows, not only the poster values in the data providers.
When unchecking the setting Display Same Variable Only Once (MELT_VARBLES) the variables appears tree times each and the input help works as expected. It shows only posted values.
Any experience of this?

Hi Kent,
If you build several queries on different infoproviders, then put them into one web template or workbook. Variables from different queries with the same technical name will get merged in variable screen (Set parameter MERGE_VARIABLES=True in web template property. Set "Display Duplicated Variables Only Once" in workbook settings for variables).
This means, that it is not possible to decide which infoprovider the variable is based on. The provider is unknown to the system when doing F4 help so that D mode is not possible since D mode [Only Values in InfoProvider] is also infoprovider dependent. So only M mode ['Values in Master Data Table'] is possible.
In such merge variable situation, the authorizated values in F4 help is also retrieved without specific infoprovider.

System does not reset asset retirement date for Depreciation Area specific transaction after area has been deleted

Good day,
I needed to create a new depreciation area in a live system. The depreciation area would not post to the GL, but would be used for tax purposes in a currency other than the local currency. When creating this area the asset values were translated at the system exchange rate which did not agree with the values of the manually maintained tax register. I proceeded by creating new transaction types that would only post to the new area, one of which was an asset disposal transaction, which would be used for downward adjustment of the APC value. I made my adjustments at the end of the previous financial year, but had to start over and proceeded to delete the depreciation area to allow me to start over.
After reinstating the depreciation area, my original adjustments were removed, however the assets which APC values needed to be adjusted downward using the disposal transaction, was giving me the AA 478 Posting transaction is not possible (value date not allowed) error.
I've reviewed the asset postings and there is no record of my original adjustment documents. The problem seems to be that field ANLA-ABGDT (Last Retirement Date), is still indicating the date of my previous adjustments and that this was not updated when the Depreciation Area was deleted and reinstated.
Again, I do not have any documents which I can access or reverse to update this table. Is there any way to clear this field without reversing the disposal document?
I'm also looking at implementing SAP note 1618286, to make error message AA478 a warning. I could not implement SAP note 533378 since it only supports component version 46c and we are currently running component verson 605.
I would appreciate your consideration of my problem.

If you are in Test System, you can use function module AA_AFABER_DELETE to totally delete the depreciation area (tcode SE37, specify chart of depreciation and depreciation area), After that recreate your depreciation area and run AFBN. But before you do that, have you created a retirement transaction type that limits the posting on your new depreciation area? If not create one.

Asset does not exists

When I am executing AJAB closing asset fiscal year, i got error message. From error log i found the below error.
asset xxxxxxxx x Depreciation/updating of values has errors.
When i checked the above asset in same company code xxxx, i found that this asset does not exist. Also I checked in the tables, I did not find the same asset entry in table except in table ANLC,ANLP. I don't know who and how it removed from system. Now i can not perform year end closing. Could anybody tell me how to create this asset with same number or execute the year end process by excluding these assets. Thanks in advance.

you said that there are no table entries except in table ANLC, ANLP.
So we have 2 possibilities:
- delete the table entries completely and create a new asset.
- recreate the missing table entries.

Oh, I see that the title of your post is an error message? Ok. Well, the test class is declared as implementing an ActionListener. That means the test class must have an actionPerformed() method. Your test class apparently does not.
It does not appear that the test class needs to implement ActionListener. You are using annonymous classes as listeners.

its fixed!! After posting my problem with the FROZEN ipod classic (2007) 80 gb a screen popped up with similar subjects that I did not find in my original search. 'Rich Fleming' in the community posted a suggestion to someone with a similar frozen issue and it WORKED when I tried it.
hold the 'menu' and the 'circle' buttons down at the same time, KEEP the pressed until the apple appears. and now it is working. Hope this helps others.

We are using Lync 2010. This question relates to the LCSCDR database.
In Lync, if a call is not answered, and does not go to voice mail, is anything recorded in the Lync database ? Are there any options to make Lync store a record of unanswered calls ?
Is there a way to tell from the LYnc database if a call was answered by a person or went to voice mail ?
I cannot see anything in the sessiondetails table to indicate any of the above.

We are using BizTalk Server 2010, I want to use the SSO to store and modify sensitive data. I am trying to automate through scripts the creation and updates of the SSO.
So I used the sso manage to create the sso application where I want to store my data. Everything works fine. Then when I try to access the data

By googling I seem to be missing one step related to
BTSScnSSOApplicationConfig.exe But I looked everywhere, I didn't know where to find this exe file. Do I have to download something? Where can I find it? was it renamed to something else?

I found finally the solution to my problem.
You'll need to use the ssomanage and use the to
BTSScnSSOApplicationConfig.exe found in the link mentionned previously.
In order for it to work, a special attention needs to be paid to the AffiliateApplication.xml
The contact XmlElement is important (it's not an email address as I used to think (smile))
