Abobe Bridge CS using an ExpressCard

Please can I ask for some help?
I Use Abode Bridge CS5 to download my images from a CF card reader.  I usually click on the get photos icn and then convert all my images to DNG format as well as apply my Metedata information.  I have now recently bought a Lexar ExpressCard reader, my problem is that Adobe Bridge CS5 does not seem to recognize this device.  I have dowloaded the Lewxar drivers for a Apple Mac Book Pro, this allows the Mac to see the device and I can drag and drop the DCIM file onto my desktop, but I want to do this through Bridge CS5, can somebody please assist with this?
Regards, Mark Mansfield South Africa

Bridge should see the samething as Finder, they are both essentially the same type of application. The question is really what are we seeing in Bridge and what are we seeing in Finder. Maybe from a certain point of view they are both showing things correctly, depending on what really going on in with the files and with the settings of each application.
Could you post a screen shot of both Finder and Bridge showing this "master" location.

    Abobe Bridge CC (64 bit) is trying to default to a deleted version of Photoshop (CS2) instead of the Photoshop CC 2014 version of suites
    How/where do I change the default for File>Open With>Photoshop?  i haven't had Photoshop CS2 installed since the first CC 2014 version, and it was working fine until this last update last month.

    DeneseLewis have you tried removing and reinstall Bridge CC?  You can find more details regarding the install and uninstall process at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.

  • Encrypting Aironet 1410 bridge link using multiple VLANs

    I've looked at the documentation available for Aironet 1400 series, and still would like to see a single document showing an example of
    the best encryption/authentication available for bridge links using multiple VLANs.
    As I understand it, 1400 series can support WPA-PSK using AES, which would work for me.  I just can't picture how to integrate chapters 9 and 10 for the 'WEP and WEP Features' + 'Configuring Authentication Types' instructions.
    I'm looking either for an example config, or a step-by-step that did all steps consecutively.
    Thanks

    What doc are you refering to?  If you want to encrypt the link from root bridge to non-root bridge, then WPA/TKIP-PSK is what you should use.  Here is a link to how to setup your link ssid to WPA: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/bridge/1400/12.2_15_JA/configuration/guide/p15auth.html#wp1044935
    Don't worry about the example they show on the WEP, just use the configuration from the above link for your encryption.
    Configuring a VLAN
    Configuring your bridge to support VLANs is a five-step process:
    1. Create subinterfaces on the radio and Ethernet interfaces.
    2. Enable 802.1q encapsulation on the subinterfaces and assign one subinterface as the native VLAN.
    3. Assign a bridge group to each VLAN.
    4. (Optional) Enable WEP on the native VLAN. <-- Use WPA-PSK
    5. Assign the bridge's SSID to the native VLAN.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/bridge/1400/12.2_15_JA/configuration/guide/p15vlan.html
    Here is an example of vlan 1 (native) will be your management and your wireless link.  vlan 10 & 20 will pass through the link.

  • Bridge CS5 using CS4 files cache problem

    If I use Bridge CS4 on a directory and subsequently open the same  directory with Bridge CS5, Bridge insistes on rebuilding thumbnails and  previews (as indicated on the bottom status line).    If I subsequently reopen the directory in Bridge CS4, it  again rebuilds thumbs and previews - however only thumbs seem to be rebuilt.   The Preferences in both versions  of Bridge are "identical".  The bridge cache files are maintained in the image directories.
    The cache construction seems to be quite fast (faster than anticipated) - I am not sure what, if anything, is being rebuilt.
    Is this an expected  operation?
    This presents some difficulties in that I  have 530,000 images (7 terabytes)  on Bridge CS4 and the reconstruction  of the files would literally take weeks to rebuild.

    as there supposed to be seperate programs and independant of one another this is surprising 'not'
    I have been onto adobe thru there support link regarding bridge issues and they
    advise to uninstall bridge cs4 using there ceanscript.
    well its a fiddly tool and no mention of just removing bridge cS4 it wants to remove cS4EXT too,
    which i'm not readt to remove, plugins etc......
    anyway, cant help, but there was a bridge CS5 patch released yesterday.
    i have noticed that some of issues no longer seem to occur
    so it may be wise to download it as it didnt auto download.
    also i have seen the same issue you state so your not alone.
    not sure whether the patch addresses the issue as ive only had it updated a few hours

  • Can I use photoshop cc and bridge without using lightroom

    Generally i prefer to ignore lightroom and start from Bridge.  I am currently using CS5.  Said another way, if i purchase PS CC do i have to use lightroom?

    Yes, you can use Photoshop+Bridge without using Lightroom.
    You can subscribe to the Photography Package for $9.99/month, use Photoshop and Bridge and ignore Lightroom.

    Hi all,
    I cretaed an ActiveX (using the bridge) to be used in a scada software. I inserted the activex in a panel and it opens and work properly when the panel is open. The problem is that when I close the panel, the scada doesnt free the memory. Is it supposed to do free it or is it my bussines? Should or can I do it by calling any method, function? Any suggestion?
    Thanks!

    I guess that on exit scada does not release resources. Try the tool at

  • Using a expresscard FW800; G-Raid drive unmounts on it's own

    I'm using a NitroAV Fw800 dual expresscard to connect my 500gig G-Raid drive that i use for video editing. I have never had a problem with it using Tiger.
    Ever since I upgraded to leopard it is behaving strangely.
    I mount the drive and all is well, (this is an example of the problem I'm having with it) I used the drive to provide 3.8 gigs of info to burn a disk recently. It burned fine and when it was done the drive just sat there, turned on, mounted for a few minutes and then it unmounts itself.
    When it's doing something it behaves fine, when I leave it alone for a bit it unmounts itself and I get the error saying that it has been removed without ejecting it first.
    If I connect it via the built in FW400 port, it stays connected and I have no issues. other drive I have are FW400 and they behave perfectly.
    I have never had this problem before. what could it be?

    I spoke with the company that manufactures the expresscard (NitroAV) again and they said it is a foul up associated with upgrading to Leopard and not installing fresh and reformatting the hard-drive.
    Has anyone else had this problem?
    Is there anyway to have Apple address this problem?
    thanks for any help.

  • Illustrator Files in Bridge filename used in Title field

    When annotating Illustrator files in CS3 Bridge, the original filename auto populates the "Title" field. Is there a reason for this and does anyone know of a workaround?
    We are converting AutoCad files to AI for use in publications using Framemaker. Frame doesn't play very nice with AutoCad (reason for conversion).

    This suggestion is just a shot in the dark, but check out edit>preferences>metadata. Could it have anything to do with the field "preserve filename"?

  • Building to building Bridge link using Aironet 1300's

    We have a requirement to link two adjacent buildings that are about 20-metres apart over a public road. I need some advice on what the best solution will be.
    Initial thoughts are a pair of Aironet 1300's configured as Wireless Bridges but the antenna type and where to mount them is confusing me. Will the internal patch antennas be enough for this or will we need external antennas? If so what type - directional or? Do the AP's need to be mounted externally or can we simply mount them internally facing each other through windows? What do we need to be aware of regards signal overlaps and interference etc?
    What looked like a simple setup seems to have opened a can of worms....
    Thanks
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
    The 20m distance is quite short.
    In this case, as recommended by Cisco*, for AP1300 series, you can use the AIR-ANT2410Y-R antenna. This directional antenna can be used/installed indoor or outdoor.
    Approximate Indoor Range at 6 Mbps : 548 ft (167 m)
    Approximate Indoor Range at 54 Mbps: 165 ft (50 m)
    *http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps5861/products_data_sheet09186a008022198b.html
    Look under 'Table 4. Antennas for the Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Outdoor Access Point/Bridge with RP-TNC Type Connector'.
    Both AP1300 and the antenna can be installed indoor. You need to wall-mount the antenna facing each other from each building.
    Since the distance is only 20m, you can play around with the transit power to control the signal distance.
    As for overlapping channel & probability of interference, do a simple site survey (can use freeware NetStumbler) and make sure your antenna does not mounted near equipment like microwave, or any equipment that produced high frequency noise.
    Hope this helps.

  • Bridge CS5 using lots of memory and give out-of-memory errors

    Hi,
    I'm using Bridge CS5 with the latest updates on Vista 32bit 4GB RAM on quad core machine.
    Bridge memory seems to keep raising during the usage, browsing a new folder seems to raise it a bit and previewing files raise it alot, mainly when I preview a large 18MP files.  (Bridge seems to not freeing the memory and re-use it...  leaking(?) )
    Very quickly the Bridge RAM usage is reaching about 1GB and at this point Bridge gives warnings that it can't generate 100% previews.
    When I restart Bridge, it works fine for a while until the memory start raising again.
    (It takes about 5-6 100% previews of 18MP files to reach that RAM usage - so the problem occurs rather quickly)
    I've tried limiting the cache in the preferences and disable caching of 100% previews -- didn't help.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    I've tried
    a larger page file - no change.
    (I doubt it will help as 32bit OS can't accessthat much memory anyways)
    I'm not sure why you think it's a HD/page file problem?  like I said, I don't have a speed problem of an issue with files not being cached.
    My problem is that Bridge memory usage keep growing without any reason I can see - and at some point Bridge stops functioning correctly cause of it.
    I deleted all my cache, and browsed a folder with under 1000 files, and after previewing about 5-6 files in 100% - bridge memory usage was close to 1GB.
    currently my cache is set to 10000 files and not caching 100% previews.
    Where did you find other peoping reporting on such a problem?  I mostly find people reporting out-of-storag errors and crashes -- I have neither of those.
    Thanks!

  • Messaging Bridge status using WLST

    Hi,
    I am trying to build a WLST script which tells the state of n number of messaging bridges that I have on AdminServer.
    connect('uname','pswd','t3://localhost:7001');
    serverRuntime();
    bd= cmo.getMessagingBridgeRuntime();
    print bd.getName()
    print bd.getState();
    I am having issues in finding the mbean instance, error is as follows
    AttributeError: getMessagingBridgeRuntime
    would be of great help if you already have this script which is working or help me in solving this.
    I am using weblogic 10.3.1

    It can be done using weblogic.Admin utility, below is the script...you can modify this according to requirement...
    java weblogic.Admin -url t3://$admURL -username weblogic -password $admpasswd GET -pretty -type MessagingBridgeRuntime -mbean $domain:ServerRuntime=$mserver,Name=$bridge,Type=MessagingBridgeRuntime,Location=$mserver -property Description -property Name -property State | grep -v MBeanName

  • How to monitor Message Bridge runtime using WLST

    Hi Readers,
    I would like to monitor Message Bridge runtime on weblogic 8.1 using WLST script.
    Can anybody tell if there is any possibility? Is there a MBEAN avaialble for Messaging Bridge.?
    Edited by: user13254842 on 09-Sep-2010 23:17

    Hi,
    I don't recall whether the console provides a way to monitor the bridge, or whether the MessagingBridgeRuntimeMBean hangs off of some parent mbean, but you can obtain arbitrary mbeans using standard JMX query calls.
    Some scratch code that I have:
      private static MBeanServerConnection getConnection(
        String urlStr,
        String username,
        String password,
        String mbeanServer
      ) throws Exception {
        // This code implicitly requires weblogic classes to be in the classpath
        // in order to run efficiently, but its possible to get it to work without
        // any WL at all.   See
        //   http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs90/jmx/accessWLS.html#1118690
        // The code could be changed to automatically detect if WL is in
        // the classpath, and switch to "iiop" mode if it isn't.
        URI url = new URI(urlStr);
        Hashtable h = new Hashtable();
        h.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, username);
        h.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, password);
        h.put(
          JMXConnectorFactory.PROTOCOL_PROVIDER_PACKAGES,
          JMX_PROTOCOL_PROVIDER
        JMXServiceURL serviceURL = new JMXServiceURL(
           url.getScheme(), url.getHost(), url.getPort(), JMX_JNDI_ROOT + mbeanServe
        JMXConnector connector = JMXConnectorFactory.connect(serviceURL, h);
        return connector.getMBeanServerConnection();
    conn = getConnection(url, user, pass, "weblogic.management.mbeanservers.domainruntime")
    String type = "JMSServerRuntime";    // not sure may need to add "MBean" or strip off "Runtime", bridge = "MessagingBridgeRuntime"
    Set xxx =    conn.queryMBeans(new ObjectName("*:Type=" + type + ",*"), null);Hope this helps,

  • Can Bridge be used as a stand along program without Photoshop or Illustrator?

    In the old Creative Suite environment you had to have a version of another Adobe product installed to use Bridge (i.e.-Photoshop, AfterEffects, Illustrator, etc.). Is this still true in Creative Cloud, or is it possible to use Bridge as a stand alone product?
    This would be especially useful for our team that needs to share image assets across the department (using Bridge's keywords), but wants to reserve editing Photoshop capabilities to photographers and designers.

    I understand it has a separate download, but in CS it would check to ensure another Adobe product was installed prior to running. Has this been changed in CC?

  • CS6 Bridge freeze using Homegroup network

    I installed CS6 Photoshop two days ago and am having problems with Bridge.
    I have a network using a Windows Homegroup between my desktop PC (ROB_PC), and a laptop (JUDE_PC) in another room, linked by my broadband router. When both machines are on I can use Bridge to access (read/copy/delete) files on the laptop by clicking on the folder in Bridge - see screen shot below (it's the folder called RAW). I can also, of course, access the laptop files in Windows. If the laptop is shut down and I try to use Bridge, I get a system freeze on Bridge and have to cancel Bridge and restart the laptop to get Bridge going again. It seems to want access to the laptop, even though I'm not looking at any folders on the laptop with Bridge, and the laptop is not switched on.
    This morning I can't even load Bridge. Both computers were switched off overnight, but when I switched my PC on and left the laptop off Bridge will not load at all. This happens even when the last used folder in Bridge is NOT the remote laptop, so I can't understand why bridge is still looking for it when it starts. Does it need access to ALL folders on a normal network, even if I haven't requested to look at those folders? That doesn't seem right to me.
    Do I need to disconnect from the network?

    Thanks for the reply, Curt.
    I have made some progress, but still don't know what's going wrong.
    1. I can load CS5 Bridge OK and it works fine, even with the other PC (laptop) switched off. As soon as I try CS6 Bridge it freezes.
    2. I just unistalled all of CS5 (Photoshop and Bridge). So now I just have CS6. That made no difference - still freezing on Bridge when laptop swithed off. When laptop is on, Bridge works fine. I loaded Bridge with the laptop on then switched off the laptop while Bridge still loaded. As soon as the laptop went off, Bridge stopped. When I switched laptop back on Bridge resumed working - without me touching bridge (I just watched the PC screen). Bridge is definitely trying to look at the whole of my network, and if it finds the laptop off it freezes.
    3. Getting desperate... I went to my Broadband router (BT) and did a router restart with the switch on the side. That fixes it! Bridge runs OK with the laptop off. One might assume it's a router problem - but why was it working OK on CS5?
    I suppose doing a router restart is an easy work-around, but it shouldn't happen. Anyone else have a problem in this area?

  • JDBC ODBC bridge connections using 2.1.1

    Hi,
    I have reviewed a lot of postings related to JDBC and third party drivers and understand how to connect to the packaged drivers such as MySQL and MS SQL Server/Sybase. Where I'm stuck is the reference in the Connections help to JDBC. We have a ODBC system DSN that's not part of the existing JDBC drivers. The help implies it's possible to create a JDBC:ODBC bridge connection and that JDBC:ODBC bridge functionality is part of the JDK therefore should not require additional jar files. However, the JDBC tab is not an available connection type by default. I traced the JDBC ODBC bridge to the rt.jar and tried adding that to the third party extensions but that has not resulted in the JDBC tab becoming available.
    Is the JDBC tab only available when using commercial JDBC ODBC bridge drivers ?
    For all other connections (DB2, TimesTen, Teradata etc) the help is very specific about which jar files you need and any other requirements but the JDBC section it is unclear how you enable JDBC connectivity.
    Thanks
    Steven

    We are using the JDBC-ODBC bridge to do a prepared
    statement. I have seen other bugs that suggest this
    is problematic with older version of JRE, but was
    supposedly fixed in later versions.
    java.sql.SQLException: General errorIf it is not too late, check the following link:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/jdbc/getstart/GettingStartedTOC.fm.html
    Sections 6.1.3 and 8 (especially tables at the end).
    I had the same case, and the problem was that the field in the Oracle database was defined as NUMBER(4), witch is equivalent to INTEGER in JDBC types, and function setInt should be used with INTEGER, instead of setLong.
    This is explained in sections I mentioned.
