You need to change your file associations. How to do that varies with the version of Windows you are using.

  • I need help with Abobe Reader XI or Acubat.

I have purchased a new computer and Abobe Reader XI nor Acubat will work.  I get the message "Adobe has stopped working".  I only get to step 1 of 3 and disable my ESET Smart Security 8 Firewall and Protection.  Please Help.

Sorry I don't understand the "step 1 of 3" part of your original post.  Is Acrobat and Adobe Reader actually installed on that new system?

  • I can not remember my abobe reader  password.

I can not remember my abobe reader  password.  There is no option to help.  Windows

Your only other option would be something like Wondershare's PDF Password Remover, but I've used it and it's not 100% reliable.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro: Extended features in Abobe Reader and users can't resave form

    Hi all,
I recently purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 in order to be able to convert existing Word docs into "type-able" PDF forms. After sending one of the forms to a coworker, we discovered a big issue. She was able to input data and save the form - once. She is unable to edit any of the data she saved or add to any of the fields she didn't fill out. (FYI, she is using Adobe Reader 8)
When I view the security settings for the form Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 it states "filling of form fields - allowed". When you initially open the form in Reader it states the same. If you input data and save the form, and then reopen it, a popup message appears:
This document contained certain rights to enable special features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and these rights are no longer valid. Please contact the author for the original version of this document.
Additionally, the security now states "filling of form fields - NOT allowed". Users completing these forms won't always have all of the data they need at their disposal, so the form is quite simply useless if you can only enter and save it once. We can't even save it with a different file name.
Is there anything I can do so that users who are viewing / adding to the forms I create can go back to edit form fields after they've saved the form?
    Thank you,
    Colleen Caldwell

    Same thing happened to me.
A form that used to work fine, wont let me input any data anymore.
I just received the following message:
"This document contained certain rights to enable special features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and these rights are no longer valid. Please contact the author for the original version of this document."
I reinstall Adobe Acrobat Reader again, deleted temporary files, restart the computer and even downloaded again the form, which I saved with different name and continues saying same thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • AcroExch Error with Abobe Reader (11.0.03)

I work on a helpdesk, and we keep getting people with the following error while trying to embed PDFs into Word documents. "The program used to create this object is AcroExch. That program is either not installed on your computer or it is not responding. To edit this object, install AcroExch or ensure that any dialog boxes in AcroExch are closed." I tried most of the obvious things to solve this problem (repaired Office and Reader, reverted back to an older version of reader, ran C Cleaner). I also tried some more obscure things like deleting old keys from the resistry manually and things of that nature. I don't know what else to try. There seem to be some fixes for this problem in Adobe Reader X, but based on what I've seen, none of these work in Reader XI. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

I had the same problem! When I try to import a pdf object in word it gave a Package or an AcroExch error, if I'm using the drag and drop method or the insert-object menu, respectively.
    System: Win7 SP1 64bits EN + Office 2010 Professional 64bits EN + Acro Read 11 EN
I did a survey among several computers at my workplace and discovered that only the computers with Win7 64 + Office pro 64 combo have this problem. I removed both Office 64bits and Acro Reader and installed the Office 32bits version. Afterwards reinstalled the Acro Reader (same version). The problem never appeared again. It seams an issue with the 64bits version.
Previously, I also tried the most common solutions found on Internet and none of them solved the problem.
    Hope it helps.
    Cheers.

  • Is there any markup limit in abobe reader XI?

    Hi all,
I'm using the adobe reader XI to make markups and I'm loosing some of them in documents with over 100 markups. Someone could you help me?

There's no practicable limit in the application or the PDF standard (there is in theory a maximum number due to the way integers are stored, but it's into the hundreds of trillions).
Displaying annotations is an intensive task (due to the rather strange way that Acrobat and Reader draw to the screen) so if you have a large number visible at the same time it's expected that your application will struggle - but you shouldn't be finding that any of them are permanently lost.

  • Why won't Chinese characters show after copying from Abobe Reader?

    Hi,
I'm using Adobe Reader 9 to read a pdf of a Chinese grammar book. I tried copying the characters and pinyin from the pdf into  Mnemosyne to use for studying, however, it just comes up blank. I did it for another pdf and it comes up with weird characters. I downloaded the Chinese Simplified support and it does the same thing even after restarting my computer. Both pdfs allow for copying and were created with Adobe Distiller 7. I don't know what the problem is, but I would very much appreciate any help so I can get to studying.
    Thank you,
    hb

If you don't get an answer here, you may want to post the question in the iMovie discussion here.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 with Abobe Reader 9

I installed Abode Reader 9 in windows 7 Professonial, before I installed CS3 with Acrobat version 8.
I am having a problem with viewing pdfs in explorer.
other than completely de-installing CS3 and then abode reader and clean the registry and then installing CS3 what can I do?

That is what is recommended. It's not supported to have both on a Windows machine.

  • I have a MAC and when I try to use Adobe Reader, I get a pop up telling me I need to accept the end user agreement. It instructs me to go the Abobe Reader Installer download , double click and accept the agreement, but there is no agreement.  What should

I have a MAC and when I try to use Adobe Reader, I get a pop up telling me to lauch ADobe Reader and accept the end user license agreement, but when I do that, there is no agreement to acknowledge.   What should I do?

I have the same problem as Pam101. I am on OS X 10.9 and Safari 7 (actually on 2 iMacs). The one iMac is fine but the other with the same versions and settings Adobe Reader will not work. What happens is the Adobe Reader icon appears on the dock, bounces once and that's it. When trying to open a .pdf file from a website a new tab is opened on Safari, the background is black and there is a pop up message (black test on a white background) that reads: "Adobe PDF Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User License Agreement." This is all very well but if Adobe Reader will not launch how on earth is it possible to accept the End User License Agreement terms? Very, very annoying, especially since it all works just fine if I launch a .pdf file from a website using Chrome. What is going on here and who do I talk to in order to fix this problem - Apple or Adobe?

  • Fatal error - Failed to install core dll Abobe reader 9.2

I have tried to update to the newest version of Abode reader and when I try to start the program I get a fatal error "failed to install core dll". I downloaded the newest version on another computer and it works fine so I copied the installation folder on to a CD and tried installing it again on the other computer and still get the error.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  I cannot open any PDF's now without the software.

  • Abobe Reader 8.1.1 Does Not Uninstall

When I try to uninstall Adobe Reader 8.1.1 (using the add/remove programs) the following error message pops up while it trys to uninstall: This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package.

Try the Windows Installer Cleanup tool from http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/290301
    Note that this will
not uninstall the application, but just remove the installer information. Reinstall the same reader version, then uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs.

  • Where will we find a abobe reader for Windows me

    Hello!
I have to troubleshoot a great dad with Windows Me.
I can not find a website for Adobe Reader supports Windows Me
    Is this program still exist?
    Thank you for your cooperation

Windows ME was basically an extended version of Windows 98.  The last Reader version to support Windows 95/98/ME was 5.0; you can download it from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobatreader/win/5.x/ar500enu.exe

  • Downloading Abobe Reader to a Mac

I need to get Reader on my MacBook Pro that's running OS 10.6.8 (Mountain Lion).
Which version of Reader should I download for that OS?
Are there any particular problems to be aware of?
    Thanks a lot.

You can download an offline installer here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
The latest build is fully compatible with Mountain Lion (10.8.4)... at least it is on my mini.
If you have any troubles viewing PDFs in Safari:
    Download the offline installer
    Quit Safari (Cmd+Q)
    Go to Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
    Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin file
    Trash the AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin file
    Empty the Trash
    Run the installer
    Reboot
You should be OK after that
