ABook Groups Problem has Returned

I posted here and on a few help sites the following which I noticed yesterday had returned.
I didn't journal my fix, (something I stumbled on by accident)
and I really need to fix the current problem
because we really need AB groups to be functional right now:
Here's my problem right now:
I create an Untitled Group.
But when I do,
the words "untitled group" are not highlighted.
I try and change the title to what I want...
AB will not let me.
I then noticed that AB will also not let me edit
any other group name as well.
- I moved over to a new user account that had admin rights.
All my AB data was in AB in the new user account.
(I would have thought I'd find an empty AB...
but I don't utilize new user account very often.)
AB groups worked perfectly in new user account.
- Back in my admin account...
I trashed everything except my actual v-cards...
I even trashed the app and took a copy of AB from my partner's mac.
No success.
- I trashed every group, the retrashed prefs/cache etc...
No success.
I seriously hope someone can help.

Below is how the problem manifested
6 months ago slightly differently...
Each time I go to add a New Group in Address Book...
I get 2-3 Untitled Groups.
If I try and rename any of these untitled groups...
it will not let me.
All I can do is delete them.
If I archive my data
and take it to a new user account
and import it into AB in there...
I do not duplicate the problem.
So...I did that.
Then I exported from there
and took the data
back to AB in my main account and...
before trying to import it...
I trashed the Address Book/App Support folder
I trashed both AB prefs
I trashed the AB cache.
Then I imported the archive from my new user account.
I still got the same problem.
I have run permissions.
I have run disk warrior.
I have done a reinstall of 10.6.2 combo.
No success.

I was having this same problem and it has been driving me nuts. As a result I found your post and found a solution. Try this if you haven't found a solution:
Open AB and create a new group.
Highlight "untitled group" and change it to whatever you want. I'll call my new group "Apple Mail Bug".
If you hit enter or return nothing will happen - field stays highlighted.
Click on a different group name and it will revert back to "untitled group".
Now go "All Contacts" and drag a couple (not just one contact) of your addresses into the "untitled group" and the name will change to what you mysteriously edited it to, in my case "Apple Mail Bug". It seems like the edited name will not appear until you drop an address into the field. This goes for editing other group names as well. Hope this works for you.

My airport problem has returned big time --Need some Help!!

Aloha once again:
I though that this was fixed by simply changing channels on my airport router, but that fix only lasted for a few days, but now it's back and even worse. Let me give you some background on this problem. Here's my original message concerning the problem:
I have my Airport Router connected to the Internet via DSLcable. I then tie my two computers into the internet via their airport cards. For about 6 months this system has been working just fine. Recently my desktop computer quit listening to the router and can no longer connect to the internet. It shows no signal strength and the name of the network on the Airport is not seen in the "connect to internet" panel. The same Airport works just fine on my LapTop and I am using it right now to get this message off to the internet.
I have fixed permissions, removed the airport card and cleaned the connector, the antenna plug and removed the system configuration folder from library preferences all to no avail!
This problem has been hounding me, intermittently, for over a year now What can I do to remedy this??? HELP!!!!

The suggestion to change channels, that came from this original request, worked but just for a very short time. Now I have to shut down my computer overnight to get connected and then it only lasts for several hours and the connection quits.
I thought maybe heat was a problem, but the last time it happened I opened the computer and played a large fan right on the card. This did not help. I shut it down for the night and it was fine the next morning for about 2 hours.
One new data point; if I turn off just the airport on my laptop computer overnight, that will fix the problem for a short time also.
Still need some help!!!

First, power off both the Time Capsule and AirPort Express.
Wait a few minutes, then power up the Time Capsule first, and let it run for a few minutes.
Temporarily, move the AirPort Express to the same room or close proximity to the AirPort Express and power it up.
If the Express powers up correctly, power it off again and move it approximately half the distance between the Time Capsule and the general area that needs more wireless coverage. Try to minimize obstructions like walls, ceiling, heavy furniture, etc as much as possible.
Please report on your results.

Open System Preferences > Sound > Sound Effects
Select: Play user interface sound effects
And make sure the Mute box is not selected.
Now open Mail. From the Mail menu bar clik Mail > Preferences then select the General tab.
Make a selection from the: New messages sound pop up menu.

Hi,
Please try the steps mentioned below and check if it helps:
Open Computer > Local Disk C > Program Files > Microsoft Office > Office 12 > Outlook.exe.
Right click on outlook.exe and click on Properties and then click on
Compatibility tab. Uncheck the box ‘run this program in compatibility mode for’ under compatibility mode, click on Apply and OK.
Note: If you are using 64 bit computer then the file location of the file will be
Computer>Local Disk C>Program Files (x86) >Microsoft Office>Office 12>Outlook.exe

Computer shuts down and starts up by itself. I have 27" mid-2011 model. Has been like this for 2 years now. The hard drive and the mother board has been replaced already. No help, the problem still returns.

This morning it started again.
When I write the word "shut" to console it says:

Yosemite is installed. But the problem has happened with every operating systems.
Disk utility can't find any problems.
No usb or other devices are connected.
I deleted the file: com.apple.PowerManagement.plist (someone suggested that it may help)
I think it's not the matter of heat, because the problem occurs right away when starting my comp.
With a safe mode it sometimes stays up for hours. So could it be a problem with applications, rather than hardware?

Problem using a group which has a space in it's DN when using LDAP Group mappings in UCS 1.4

Hey,
We've been implementing LDAP authentication (Active Directory) using LDAP group mapping in UCS 1.4, and we've noticed that when using a group which has a DN with a space in it (such as "UCS Admins") it wouldn't authenticate the user with the appropriate role.
Using a DN without spaces (such as "UCSAdmins"), works just fine.
I should mention that having a base DN with spaces works just fine as well, it's just the group mappings that doesn't work.
I should also mention that Cisco's "Quick guide to configuring ldap for ucs 1.4" shows an example in which the group's DN doesn't include a space.
Is there a workaround available which can make it possible using a group which has a space in it's name?

Thanks for your prompt reply.
We've tried putting quotes using UCSM which is not possible at all - not for the entire entry nor for the part with spaces.
We've also tried using CLI ("scope security/ldap/ldap-group") where you have to put quotes if you use a DN with spaces, and it still doesn't work. Furthermore, we tried adding quotes only to the part with the spaces, i.e. - CN="UCS Admins",OU=TEST,DC=TEST. It adds the entry without an error, but shows like we would use "CN=UCS Admins,OU=TEST,DC=TEST". Anyway, it doesn't work either.

Does AD member group count has a critical limit in OAM?

Hi,
I’m using Oracle Access Manager 10g (10.1.4.0.1) to setup an SSO system. The user base is an instance of Microsoft Active Directory 2003. I’m authorizing a particular URL (which is defined as a Policy Domain in OAM) for the users based on user groups defined in the Active Directory.
I’ll explain my problem using this example. Suppose the URL I’ve setup is http://www.example.com/test. Therefore, ‘/test’ is defined as a Policy Domain in OAM. Within this policy domain, I have two (enabled) authorization rules namely, Rule-A (allows access to the AD group, Group-A) and Rule-B (allows access to the AD group, Group-B). Then, under ‘Default Rules’ I have defined the authorization expression as, Rule-A | Rule-B.
In the AD, Group-A has 500 member groups and Group-B has 1900 member groups. (User accounts are members of these sub-groups). Let us suppose that there is a user account called User-A as a member of a sub-group under Group-A, and User-B under Group-B likewise. My problem is, that when access is tested for the above URL through the ‘OAM Access Tester’, User-A is authorized but User-B is shown as “Inconclusive”. Is this related to some member group count limitation in OAM? I would be really grateful if anybody can help me.
By the way please note that, I’ve already changed the value of the parameter “maxForRangedMemberRetrieval” to 1500 in \IdentityServer_install_dir\identity\oblix\apps\common\bin\globalparams.xml, as suggested in OAM documentation.

Hi. I need help regarding facebook for blackberry. I cannot post any status update, i keep on receiving an error prompt "the facebook server has returned an unknown error and is not able to fulfill your request. (2001)". it has been like this for the past 3 days. I already did the hard reboot many times, re-send service book though i do'nt think it's needed, and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the facebook application too but still getting the same error everytime i try to post a status update. I can comment to messages on my wall and other profiles, the news feed is updating in time too, i can also log-in and out to facebook with no problem, as well as other applications on my phone like foursquare, BBm, ubersocial, BB protect, BB app world, etc, are all working perfectly fine. And now I don't know what seems to be the problem.
I've already contacted my network provider and told me that the error i'm getting is beyond their scope.
Is anybody having the same problem as mine?
Can someone in BB support team help me regarding this issue and tell me what should I do?

I got the same issue !! Since I've updated my Facebook app 2 or 3 week ago !
I can not update my status and check-in ! It gives me "the facebook server has returned an unknown error and is not able to fulfill your request. (2001) "
I can upload photo, put comment on people, like people status/picture. The news feed update perfectly !
I also tryied to uninstall reinstall the app, reboot etc etc ! I still can't update my status !!!! I've installed 3.0.0.17 this morning and the issue is still there...
I've remarked one thing... On my facebook under "privacy setting/the Apps, Games and Websites" I used to have a "blackberry app" installed. It's not there anymore and I didn't remove it.

Take a picture of your toolbars so you can easily reconstruct them from the default after solving the the problem.
If it happens to you it will probably happen again in the future so you might want to keep some copies of your modified localstore.rdf file so you can delete the bad one and rename one of the replacements in waiting. Saving, copying and renaming must be done with Firefox down, of course.

Report design Grouping problem

I'm currently designing a report, something like an invoice. The invoice number is usually on the page header. But now i want to create a report to list down all the invoice numbers in the 'details' but when i drag the 'invoice number' data to 'details'
it only show 1 row of numbers, wheareas the data has few rows of it. How can i make it view all my numbers?

Problem with return statement...

hey guys!
i'm new to this forum so don't be angry if i post or do something wrong :) anyway, my problem:
i have a litle method that checks if a file exist and if it exist i want it to return true.
the real problem is that when a if&else statement checks if the method is true or false
it dont care if the method has returned false it just thinks it's true.

After downloading new version of Firefox 4 I am unable to use touch pad for scrolling. I have tried installing and uninstalling the new version but this problem has always been occuring.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Install the new version that you have downloaded

Error message: ASA Error-141: Table 'SystemSite' not found
ODBC was set up according to the readme. What else do I have to do to get
Inventory Reports working.

Manual recording issue has returned after a long absense

Months ago, DVR programming from the internet would randomly result in programs on the DVR showing "manual recording", and no info besides channel, date, and time. This problem was not user correctible but Verizon did eventually fix it. It has returned, possibly starting around 12/18, and no use of IHA resets, unplugging the DVR, or killing and restarting browser sessions seems to correct the issue.

Mavericks mail group problems

When I address an email to a Contacts group and hit Return, Mail lists the whole group correctly in most instances. However, for random groups, It lists members multiple times (same email address each time.) The group itself lists members correctly. I have tried turning Mail off and on, turning the computer off then on, and deleting the group and recreating it member by member, but get the same results. In one case, the problem just resolved itself without my doing anything I can remember, but just that once, and with a different Group than is now malfunctining. Any ideas?

FYI The upcoming 10.9.2 update to OS X Mavericks (since beta 3 build 13C44 that is available to developers now!) seems to fix the mail re-indexing issue for a few of us;
