About 5.1 Sound Support

I bought recently Motherboard Msi on 865PE chip the Standart edition with S-ATA support and 5.1 Sound.
But then i received the Computer i`ve noticed that i don`t have S-Bracket that can support the 5.1 sound. Is this device that the store forgot to give me or it is not including in the paccage.

Questions about the best sound card & speakers for my setup...

I am building another high-end dekstop PC. I'm looking for a NICE sound card and a set of 7.1 speakers. I currently have a X-Fi Fatalty FPS card, but was thinking of selling it and getting an X-Fi Prelude since it has optical out. I was also thinking about a set of Gigaworks S750 speakers, until I realized they don't have optical in. I was hoping someone more familiar with PC Audio could help me out. I have read several things (including the sticky/float post) about digital audio, but I still have a few questions.
1. What are the advantages/disadvantages of Digital Audio? (I have heard it sounds worse?!)
2. What is the best way to encode/decode audio? (Possibly keep it all Digital and not decode at all?)
3. Is EAX, Alchemy, CMSS compatible with Digital?
4. Why would Creative's top of the line S750 speakers not have Digital In?
I will be running Windows Vista and using the PC to play a lot of Games (including EAX), listen to music (mostly MP3 and WMA), and watch DVDs (I want FULL surround sound support). I want to have the ability to CMSS upmix stuff also. Can someone recommend something for me...

Dvi to hdmi with sound support

I was looking for a way to watch movies from my MBP (mid-2011 13") on a HD LCD TV, and I found an HDMI port in the back of the TV. I went to the Apple store and picked up a Kanex "Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable (with sound support)." The picture looks great, but there's no sound. Is there a switch I need to activate somewhere that turns on the sound for the DVI port? Do I need to set anything on the TV?

Try going to System Preferences > Sound and chose your TV as an output source. Also, go into Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup and in the left side of the window chose the output source. If these don't work then you may have a problem with your TV, it may not support audio from a HDMI cable. In that case you could use a Digital Optical Cable (TOSlink) with a 3.5mm adapter for the headphone jack of your Mac and plug that into your TV (if it has a Optical Output).

You asked about supported cards. Here is a list of supported cards. Others on this thread are telling you how to make an unsupported card function to some degree using a method that is not advocated by Adobe.

In the above document, page 10, its mentioned SYBASE 15.7 is compatible.
So probably for the latest version of data services, Sybase 16 should also be hopefully compatible.

Well, these are user-to-user forums. I'm not sure that posting complaints about Apple customer support here would be a) productive (what can we really do?) and b) acceptable under the terms of use, though I'm not sure. My inclination would be to write a letter directly to Apple. Even in this email age, "real" letters seem to command more attention.

Surround sound support for new MB aluminum?

Hello, so here's the deal:
I've been looking at a few pairs of headphones that will be plugged in through the USB port and there's a pair that supports 5.1 surround sound and a pair that supports 7.1 (both have 8 speakers built into the headphones).
Does anyone know what kind of surround sound support the new macbook aluminum has, if any?
The deal is that the headphones feature amps (it goes: usb -> amp -> control pod -> headphones), so technically it doesn't require drivers from the Mac into order to get it working, but I don't believe that it will work without the correct digital audio output from the Macbook itself.
Any help on this issue would make me grateful.
PS: if there is either more or less support on the Windows side (via bootcamp) I would love to know that too, because in my switch to Mac, I noticed that it really doesn't have any dedicated control of the sound drivers, whereas Windows XP does.

Ironically there's apparently a bug that forces all my flash videos to be remixed into 5.1 surround. VERY annoying because now even at hte lowest volume levels it's super loud...

Who knows about K7T266 Pro SOUND???

I want to use my SB LIVE 4 channel surround AUDIO CARD instead of my onboard 2 channel sound, Now MSI Support says you don't have to disable onboard sound if using latest bios like v35 or v36 .. Have any of you Pros done this before?? I could just try it and see, but have a feeling SB drivers might not install properly without doing it right the first time..
What do you think? :P

I guess I should uninstall the AVANCE ONBOARD DRIVERS...
The way my common sense would dictate is:
1) uninstall the SOund Drivers
2) reboot to BIOS and DISABLE ONBOARD SOUND
3) Shutdown system and install SB LIVE CARD
4) Boot up and install SB LIVE PCI DRIVERS
SOUND ABOUT RIGHT????

I cant find if my sound card support 7.1 audio , because i want to buy razer tiamat headset. I cant find anywhere whats the model of the sound card the only thing it says is Realtek HD audio by dynaudio.

How do I complain about the way a support issue was handled?

I'm very grateful that a long standing and reoccuring issue with the disabling of my account seems to have been solved. What I am NOT happy about is the email I received at the end of the long battle accusing me of violating the ITunes Store agreement or maybe even having bought an ID and password online somewhere. I didn't even know you could DO that. I've had the same old Classic IPod for years and a Shuffle I don't use, and I'm seriously not savvy enough to bypass the legal methods of buying things--nor would I ever try!
So to get this really insulting letter warning me not to do things I never thought of or knew I could do before anyone even talked to me or told me about what they'd discovered was a total shock. I talked to several support techs by phone, and none of them ever mentioned anything to me about any viiolations or anything else. I sat while the tech chatted with a higher up, and I was told that I would receive an email soon. And BOY, did I receive an email!
Perhaps some people who cheat the system would call and brazenly ask to have their account investigated and re-enabled...nothing surprises me anymore. But I wouldn't. And I feel as if someone should've told me what they suspected or asked me if I myself might've noticed anything odd about my account, before they just assumed that I had done something "illegal."
I'm wondering if I need to change my ID and password again, for my OWN protection, and to keep my account from being compromised. But most of all, I feel as if should there be another issue with my account, I should be allowed to speak to someone before I'm permanently "banished," so that I can at least try to plead my case.
Right now, Apple is assuming I'm guilty of things I don't even know how to do. What a slap in the face after years of buying from the ITunes Store without any problems, and buying several IPods and more for friends and family!

They do not know you. It is the same letter they would send to anyone in this instance.
Not sure why you are taking it personally.
Relax. Let it go. Your issue is resolved.
No one at Apple is assuming anything. You simply got the letter everyone gets in this situation. No one at Apple is sitting around discussing you at all.

Whoah whoah fist of all cool down man, there's nothing to get so nervous about. And don't try prying the poor VAIO open and locating any soundboards, unless you usually go around desoldering stuff...the soundboard is just a chip, leave it alone. To disable it, all you need to do is turn off an option in the BIOS, no knifes, screwdrivers or solderers needed.
Oh and uninstalling the windows drivers for the onboard sound would help, too.

Does FMLE support surround sound - such as 5.1 6 channel stereo? If not, will it ever?

FMLE supports only mono/stereo channel as of now. If we need this support in FMLE/Flash Player, log a feture request for the same.
